Sasuke sat eating breakfast looking calm and relaxed. Yet so many thoughts wandered in his mind.

After so long Sasuke finally felt like he had a family. Naruto, who now felt almost like a brother. The feeling he had was something he had missed so much.

So why was he so nervous? Why did he feel like looking at Naruto every minute? And why was his heart beating so loudly?

As he was lost in thought Naruto came over and sat down with him. He looked excitedly at the food in front of him. He wasted no time in saying "Itadakimasu!" and started stuffing himself.

Sasuke watched him eat with a look in his onyx eyes that was clearly adoration. Naruto happily munched on the food exclaiming in delight "Wow! This is good!" The boy had never eaten food at home, made by someone else. As he was stuffing himself without even chewing, Sasuke warned him "Don't eat so fast or you'll choke".

Right on cue, Naruto choked on some beans. He patted his chest desperately, then chugged on a glass of water. He took a long gasp and cleared his throat several times.

"Sasuke, I didn't know you could cook food like this! If you get married, you're going to make somebody one hell of a husband" said Naruto and proceeded to eat as if nothing was wrong.

Hearing this Sasuke froze, his chopsticks just halfway in the process of eating. Hearing what Naruto had said, his heart suddenly jumped as if it wanted to forcefully break out of his chest. He had never considered the idea of marriage. He knew that he would have to revive his clan. But the very thought of it made him feel uneasy and...embarrassed.

"Hey Sasuke? You are going to get married right?" Naruto asked. "Or are you too shy?" he teased with a mischievous smile.

Sasuke became flustered in an instant. His chest tightened. His words were stuck in his mouth. Somehow when he managed to find his voice he said "Shut up dobe! You don't know anything".

"O really?" said Naruto chewing on some spinach. "Your whole body is so sensitive. One little touch and you get all ticklish" he chuckled. "If you ever get married, it should be with a guy. Then you can pretend to be the wife!" he laughed.

Sasuke's eyebrow twitched. He stared at Naruto with eyes like daggers. "You. If you end up getting married your wife is going to kick you out of the house." he said in an annoyed tone.

"Huh? And why's that?" Naruto questioned in a tone of disbelief. "I'm always nice to girls. Unlike you."

"Then explain this!" Sasuke said pointing at his cheek. There, two fang marks and a row of teeth marks could be seen. Naruto looked at it intensely. "Did I do that?" he asked. "Wait...is that what I did last night?"
"You still don't remember?" Sasuke said.

Naruto became even more curious. Just what had happened last night? And why did Sasuke refuse to talk about it? "Come on! What happened last night? What did I do to you that so embarras-...?..."

Naruto stopped abruptly. His eyes widened and he asked worriedly "Did we...?..No way!..Don't tell me we...?..."

Sasuke guessed his thoughts. But instead of assuring him he simply stated "Still want to remember?"

Naruto sat with his face red and steaming. He clamped his hand over his mouth unable to comprehend what Sasuke had just said. 'Why?' he thought depressingly. 'O god! Why?'

He sat there for a long time, shocked, disappointed and sad.

Meanwhile Sasuke has decided to go shopping. He grabbed his backpack and his purse. He put on some fresh clothes and was putting his shoes on at the front door. "You stay here. I need to buy groceries" Sasuke said getting up.

Naruto stood up immediately. "Wait!...I'm coming with you" he said.

Sasuke paused and stared at him strangely for a second.

'What did I say that was so weird?' Naruto wondered. "You can't leave me alone! I'm gonna get bored!" he whined, pouting his face.

Sasuke looked at him and considered it for a moment. He sighed and said "Alright. Get ready. Quick". He figured it was best to bring him along. Who knew what the troublemaker would do if he was left alone. He could also collapse at any given moment and go rampant.

After Naruto was ready they walked out the door. Sasuke locked it and they headed out.

They walked to the marketplace in Konoha. As people saw them, their eyes narrowed with disgust and hatred, two times the usual. Naruto stuck close to Sasuke and followed him around. The people seemed to whisper even more while they were together.

But neither Sasuke nor Naruto paid any attention to them. After years of living with it they both knew it was pointless to stress over it.

Throughout the day they went to different shops buying vegetables, noodles, spices and some other things as well. Naruto distracted himself from remembering about last night by blabbering nonstop and bickering with Sasuke. He made stupid unnecessary comments like "You're buying too much" or " Woah that's expensive!" All while ignoring the looks that the shopkeepers gave him.

Although he argued with Sasuke a lot, Naruto had to admit. He'd never been to the marketplace. The shopkeepers didn't let him buy anything. It was why he couldn't eat anything besides cup ramen and milk.

In that moment, walking with Sasuke and just doing some shopping. Spending time with someone, Naruto felt his heart lighten. He enjoyed it quite a lot and for the first time he didn't feel lonely.

Sasuke felt almost exactly the same. Without having someone in his life, daily chores like making breakfast or going out to shop didn't feel the same. The cheerful boy made him want to do everything and it made him happy.

During the hot summer afternoon, the two argued back and forth calling each other names. Naruto complained about wanting to go home since it was too hot. Afterwards Sasuke called him and idiot and told him to shut up. Naruto tugged at his shirt every one was in a while and pointed to some of the things that he found new or exciting.

"Hey Sasuke" Naruto said fanning himself desperately. "I'm getting really thirsty. That bottle of water you had is already empty."

It was just around 2 o'clock and the sun was blazing. The crowd in the marketplace didn't help either. Sasuke too, was starting to get thirsty.

"Wait here" said and went ahead to buy some water.

As he was about to return he saw Naruto staring off into the distance. Sasuke followed his line of sight and saw some kids having ice blocks.

There was a young woman handing out those 'conjoint' ice blocks. There were some juniors from the academy who bought them and happily split them into two to share it with their friends.

Sasuke's eyes looked back at Naruto and the look he had on his face was enough to make Sasuke understand.

The poor boy was always ostracised by everyone so much. He probably was wondering if he could have some ice blocks yet he was too scared and anxious. He smiled sadly, his blue eyes portraying many emotions. Guilt, longing, helplessness and most of all...despair.

Sasuke's heart suddenly plunged as if he was drowning. It...pained him...to see Naruto like that. He felt so sorry for him and he felt that he had to do something.

Naruto looked back at Sasuke and his eyes shone as if he wanted to say "Will you get some for me?" He clearly didn't want to say it, but it was quite obvious to Sasuke.

In that one moment it was as if no one else existed. It was just the two of them and their emotions. Naruto gazed at Sasuke with the most beautiful yet sad face. He slowly let out a small smile. 'Sasuke...' he thought. 'If you really care about me. Then you should know...right?'

Sasuke was captivated in the moment. He stared deeply into Naruto's brilliant blue eyes and suddenly he felt the need to do something...anything to make him happy. Sasuke's very soul seemed to resonate with Naruto and he felt a surge of overwhelming emotions.

Before he knew it he walked over to where the young woman was standing. He handed her some coins and took an ice block. The woman smiled and asked "Do you have someone to share with?"
"I do" Sasuke replied. As he walked back he realised that it seemed to make him feel better than he ever had before.

Naruto stared at Sasuke blankly. Sasuke spilt the ice block and offered him one of the halves. "Here" he said with a soft tone.

Naruto's eyes widened and a small cute smile appeared on his face. His heart leapt with joy. He looked at Sasuke and suddenly felt like the Uchiha was the best person in the world. He felt so peaceful, relaxed and happy being with him. 'Sasuke's actually a nice guy' he thought. He took the ice block and slurped on it, humming with satisfaction.

Seeing him smile Sasuke felt relieved and happy.'He deserves a little care after what he's been through' he thought as they walked.

Then, all of a sudden Naruto called to him "Hey Sasuke" he said a bit nervously. He hung his head low and considered for a moment. 'I don't want to say it. But...I probably should' he thought.

"What is it?" Sasuke asked.

"Um...well" Naruto fidgeted a bit then looked straight at Sasuke.

"Thank You" he said, with a cute, lovely smile on his face.

Sasuke's heart skipped a beat and he suddenly had trouble breathing. His chest felt as though there were tiny firecrackers exploding inside him making him suffocate. Yet it also sent a wave of electricity running through his body. 'What the...'

Naruto noticed something was off about Sasuke. He seemed to be deep in thought and... 'Is he shy or something?' Naruto thought. He decided to tease him because he suddenly felt like it.

"Hey...Stop being so shy" he teased.
"Shut up dobe!" Sasuke said and avoided eye contact with him.

When Naruto saw this he laughed cheekily. "Aww...what's the matter? Come on!" he said.

He put his arm around Sasuke and laughed. Sasuke tensed at his touch. He avoided looking at Naruto. "Usuratonkachi" he whispered.
"Teme" Naruto scoffed. "Right then. Let's go home!" he said with his heart full of joy.

Sasuke smiled and the two began making their way home.
