I was led through an alleyway being dragged by the waist. I looked up at the tall handsome man as he smiled down at me. His green eyes were full of lust as he looked over my body making me inwardly shiver. I've always hated these kinds of missions but as the only trusted female, I was always assigned these perverted men. He led me into a small house on the outskirts of town bringing me inside.
Right when the door closed, he started to kiss me while leading me into the bedroom. I had to act like I was enjoying it but I just couldn't wait to kill him. He broke the kiss as he took his shirt off and laid down on the bed.
"I have a question," I said to him as I started to take off my jacket.
"Anything beautiful," he replied as his brown hair fell in his face. I reached up taking out the hair tie holding my long hair finally letting it loose after five hours of having it up. It was hard to find this man and took even longer for me to get him alone. "Wow, you should keep your hair down babe." He commented with lust in his eyes.
I slowly walked over joining him on the bed. As soon as my body was on the bed, he grabbed my waist pulling me on top so I was straddling him. "Damn you're beautiful, especially with those blue eyes of yours. So rare to see blue eyes and black hair." He said obviously not staring at my eyes but my chest.
"What a perv, ugh. I hate these things." I thought annoyed but I had to keep playing along.
I leaned towards him putting my lips to his ear. "Then it must be your lucky day," I purred which sent shivers down his spine.
I could feel him ready to take me as he finally let his guard down. I went to sit up again but he grabbed the back of my neck pulling me back down so my head rested on his shoulder. Panic rose in me for a few seconds thinking he found out my plan but once he started to kiss my neck, I knew he was falling for the charade. I felt his hands roam my body finally reaching my shirt slowly pulling it up. I decided to let him enjoy the last moment of his pathetic life. He took a break from kissing my neck to pull my shirt over my head. He extended his arms grabbing my behind pulling me closer to him.
"I still have my question," I said looking into his eyes.
"Anything babe," he moaned.
I started to kiss his neck making him completely drop his guard. I trailed my hands down his bare torso acting as if I was going to remove his pants. I decided to take them off at the last moment to disarm him completely. Before dropping them on the floor, I grabbed a kunai from his weapons pouch. He heard the blade of the kunai and quickly opened his eyes but it was too late, I already had it to his neck.
"Pathetic men, letting your guard down for a pretty face. You make this too easy." I said with a smirk.
"W-what do you want?" He questioned trying to remain calm but it wasn't working.
"You have information on the Akatsuki." I said sternly.
"Tch," he scoffed, "Like I'd tell you."
"Look, I went through a lot to seduce you and get you here so I don't want to kill you or that would have been a waste of my time." I said pressing the kunai deeper into his neck drawing blood.
I heard someone walking outside making me switch my gaze to the window seeing the blinds were down. He thought my guard was down and attempted to reach for the kunai but I sliced his hand making him cry out in pain causing his blood scatter on the wall and the floorboards.
"Hmm maybe torture is the best way to go." I pondered as I ran the tip of the kunai up his torso drawing a thin line of blood.
I started to feel a little blood thirsty, something I acquired thanks to the experiments and terminating them. I only stabbed his arm making him scream but he flew upwards headbutting me then pushed me onto the floor. I let go of the kunai so I could catch my fall. By the time I was on the ground, he was standing above me. His file said he was known for his speed but I didn't think he'd be that fast. I quickly made hand signs which made him lunge towards me. By the time I touched my necklace to replenish my chakra, he grabbed me holding my arms crossed behind my head making me unable to move.
"Who are you?" He demanded. I heard anger lacing his voice making me guess he was mad at the fact he fell for my trick but he was also confused on how he didn't sense me.
"A girl who enjoys killing," I answered with an icy tone which made him shiver.
He grabbed my wrist instantly breaking it making me suppress my scream. I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. "Who are you? And you better answer or I'll break your arm next." He threatened grabbing my forearm.
"Do it, I dare you!" I challenged.
He scoffed then broke it making me cry out in pain. I struggled to get free from his grip but it was of no use. I had to resort to the 'gift' Father gave me. I screamed in pain as I felt my bones emerge from my back forcing him to release me. I stumbled forward as the bones receded.
"W-what the hell are you?" He questioned in fear taking a step away.
I only smirked and let my jutsu fall revealing my red eyes, pale skin, and the scar that has haunted my dreams. I turned towards him expecting to see fear in his eyes but he only laughed.
"No wonder you needed a disguise, you only have those breasts going for you!" He mocked which made my blood boil.
"That's it, this guy is dead. Forget the mission."
I lunged towards him with my good arm out making my bones emerge from my palm attempting to stab him. His incredible speed was the only thing keeping him alive at the moment. I grew tired of him dodging my attacks just wanting to spill his blood. From my pointer finger, I sent out a chakra string which was nearly invisible. It wrapped around his legs making him fall to the ground then I made it wrap around his torso.
He was startled unsure of what happened but soon started to struggle against the invisible force. I walked towards him wishing I could use my other arm to rip the bones out of my hand to wield them as a sword but I can manage with just one.
"Stay back!" He shouted as his eyes widened in fear; my favorite part.
"Here, I'll give you a few more minutes to live." I said as he looked into my eyes falling for my genjutsu.
He screamed over and over again as he kept seeing the many different ways I wanted to kill him which made me smirk. Once I released him from the jutsu, he was panting heavily looking around seeing his was still alive. He looked back at me seeing I had my ulna sticking out ready to kill him.
"Any last words?"
"Yeah, you're an ugly bit-"
Before he could finish, I stabbed him in the throat making him bleed out onto the floor. I grunted as I put the bone in my mouth ripping it from my arm then discarded it on the floor. I stepped over his body bending down picking up his pants searching through his pockets and kunai pouch only finding a few bucks.
"Guess he spent all his money on drinks." I concluded remembering he was pretty drunk when I found him.
I grabbed my shirt using it as a sling for my broken arm. I dashed towards the door running as fast as I could out of the town. I looked like a blur to the untrained eye as I ran through the crowded town. Once I exited the town, I ran for the tree where I put my bag in just before I started this mission. When I found it, I released the genjutsu which revealed my bag was still there. I sat down at the base of it and started to heal my arm which took a few minutes. Once it was healed, I put my blood soaked shirt back on.
"Arg that damn perv got blood all over my shirt." I thought as I looked down at my now red shirt.
The journey home was a quick one since the town was only a few hours away. I felt a little nervous as I returned to the hideout hoping Father wouldn't be too mad that I didn't get any information on the Akatsuki. I sighed heavily when I entered the hideout heading straight for Father's office. I knocked on the door then entered once I heard a reply.
"How was the mission? Did you get any information?" He questioned turning to me.
"He was starting to get weak; he'll need a new body soon." I thought as I sensed that his chakra seemed weaker.
"There was a complication, I was unable to get any information." I replied hoping he wouldn't pry.
A flash of irritation was briefly shown on his face before returning to its emotionless one. He eyed my bloodied shirt and barely smirked. "Very well, I had Kabuto send out some followers from the other hideouts."
I was about to speak but was interrupted by Kabuto barging into the room. "Lord Orochimaru, the Akatsuki have made their move! They've taken the Sand's jinchuuriki." He informed out of breath.
"They managed to capture Gaara?" I questioned out loud. "They must be strong...unless he grew soft. Do you know who the two members were?"
"One of them was Sasori but he wasn't involved with the attack. He was responsible for having his spy get them in the village. The unknown member was the one who captured the Ichibi."
"Hmm the Leaf has a treaty with them, they might take care of the Akatsuki for us. How long ago did they attack?" Father questioned which piqued my interest.
"A few days ago," Kabuto answered.
"They might've already extracted the beast by now."
"What happens when they have the beast?" I questioned.
"The host dies...Ko, go train for the ambush; I need to talk to Kabuto alone."
I bowed with respect suspicious of their conversation.
"They're hiding something."
I exited his office trying to ignore the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I had a bad feeling when Kabuto mentioned the Sand was attacked which makes me think it was something to do with Kitty. Knowing him, he went after his little brother and got himself hurt. When I reached the training room, Sasuke was in the middle of his routine practicing lightning with his blade. When he heard me, he cancelled his jutsu and turned towards me.
"What is that?" He questioned pointing at my neck.
I hadn't had the chance to look at myself in the mirror but my best guess was that my target left a hickey on my neck.
"I'm guessing a hickey Sasuke, ever hear of it?" I responded which made him angry at my remark. He turned around facing his back to me. "Awe don't pout, why don't we work on our teamwork? We didn't have a chance to work on the other combination techniques."
"Like what?" He questioned looking over his shoulder.
"Fire and lightning go well together, might be able to burn a lot with one jutsu." I said which caught his attention. "We should practice outside though, I'm not sure how fireproof this base is."
Sasuke followed me to the end of the base but before leaving completely, I popped my head out of the hatch scanning the area with my Subete Miru seeing no one. I motioned for Sasuke to follow and climbed out of the hatch helping Sasuke up but he declined. There was an area not too far that was only dirt with not many trees around perfect for our training.
"Alright, let's try level one to start." I instructed. "Lightning and fire make plasma which is pretty hot." He only nodded then made hand signs. "Try to make a ball," I suggested as I made my own.
Sasuke shot out lightning trying to form a ball but it was a stream. It collided with my fire ball surrounding it which looked pretty cool but it wasn't what I wanted.
"You couldn't make a ball?" I deadpanned looking at the supposed powerful Uchiha.
"None of my jutsu require a ball." He said with an annoyed tone along with his Uchiha glare.
"Well try to make it a ball like my fire ball jutsu."
"No shit," he retorted.
"Someone's in a bad mood."
We tried again but it always ended with the same outcome. "It's getting late, we'll call it a day and you can practice on your own." I said looking up at the setting sun.
"Tch, you can't order me around." He scoffed walking away.
I rolled my eyes seeing he's doing exactly what I said but quickly caught up to him. "Maybe not but I know you'll try it anyway."
He glanced at me for a few seconds then back at the path in front of us. "How so?"
"Because if you don't, it'll mean the great Sasuke Uchiha can't do everything." I mocked with a mischievous smirk.
I could tell my words struck a nerve. Manipulating an Uchiha was too easy, just hurt their precious ego. When we got back to the hideout, he returned to the training room for the remainder of the night while I went to my room. The whole time I sat on my bed contemplating if I should risk it and go to the Sand Village. I was afraid of the consequences that I would face after returning but a part of me said go. When it was late, I only packed the essentials in a single scroll and the rest into my weapons pouch. It would take a few days to get to the Sand and back so I had to be prepared.
The journey wasn't bad until I got to the desert. I wasn't too fond of the heat and sandstorms but thanks to my eyes, I easily navigated through the storm making it to the Village. I looked at the front gates seeing them in shambles.
I wasn't taking any chances so I made hand signs changing my looks then disappeared into the earth swimming underground until I could see the hospital. Once I emerged behind the building, I focused on only the Hospital looking for Kankuro's room. Once I found him, I scaled the wall reaching the fifth floor then climbed through the open window. I crept quietly towards the bed but stopped when he suddenly put a kunai to my throat.
"Who are you?!" He questioned with a much deeper voice than I remember which made me shiver.
Despite the room being dark, I could still see him perfectly as if the lights were on. I've only seen him wearing face paint so seeing his face bare was strange. He looked more like an adult and was pretty handsome, I'll give him that.
"Hi Kitty," I greeted with a smile as I dispelled the jutsu.
His eyes widened as he started to lower the kunai to reach the light turning it on. His kunai quickly went back to my throat. "What are you doing here?" He questioned with a conflicted expression; I believe he was wondering if he should call for help or not.
"Awe it doesn't seem like you're happy to see me," I pouted pretending to be hurt. "I heard what happened and I wanted to see if you're alright." He stared into my eyes trying to see if I was lying or not. "If I wanted to harm your village I wouldn't have stopped by." I reasoned which made him eventually lower the kunai.
"Why are you here?" He said taking in my appearance. It started to irritate me when his eyes kept lingering on my chest.
"Well perv, what I told you before was the truth. I can see my bad feeling was right since you're in the hospital." I looked down at him seeing he's been through hell, his breathing was still labored.
"W-what how am I a perv?!" He stuttered with pink dusting his cheeks.
"You've been staring at my chest since you turned on the light." I pointed out which made him nervously chuckle as his cheeks reddened even more. "Anyway, what happened to you?"
His smile disappeared as he stared at his hands probably replaying the events in his head. "The Akatsuki came and battled Gaara. He used the last of his strength to protect the village." His voice started to crack at the end showing he was still upset over his missing brother.
I didn't have the heart to tell him he's already dead, I'll leave that to someone who isn't a wanted criminal. "Why would he protect them?" I questioned interrupting him.
"He's the Kazekage."
His words shocked me, I remembered the blood thirsty genin who nearly killed my former comrades.
"Wow, didn't expect that."
"No one did honestly," he chuckled. "Anyway, when we chased after him, we found the front gate littered with dead bodies. My guards fell for a trap making the gates explode so I was the only one left to fight Sasori of the Red Sand."
I gasped despite already knowing he was here. I didn't expect him to be so foolish to take on Sasori alone. "And you lived?! How was it fighting him?" I couldn't believe that he fought Sasori alone and lived.
"If it wasn't a life and death situation, I would've been honored but I barely survived."
"Did he poison you?" I took a step closer then kneeled beside his bed looking up at him.
"Yes,"
"I can tell you're still weak, who healed you?" I knew poison removal was a difficult task, Kabuto trained me in the process but I never had a chance to use it in battle.
"Your former teammate Sakura did," he answered which I wasn't expecting.
"Hm so she is trying to be useful for once, where is she now?"
"She, along with the rest of them went after the Akatsuki to get Gaara back."
Nope, still didn't have the heart to tell him yet, he looked too hopeful and I didn't want to ruin that. "Here, let me heal you." I said hovering my palms above his chest. He watched as they started to glow green before looking at me once again. "What was the other one like? The one that fought Gaara." I asked.
"He was from the Hidden Stone Village and is an explosives expert. He had these clay monsters that exploded at his command."
"Did you catch his name?"
"Sasori called him Deidara." We were silent for a while until I finished healing him. "Why?" He whispered.
"Why what?"
"You're the enemy, siding with Orochimaru, the man who killed my Father. How can you side with that monster?! He destroyed his own village!" He shouted with anger clenching his fists.
"Um correction, I destroyed the village." I pointed out wanting everyone to know the truth; I've already chosen my side.
He looked at me in shock then disgust which made me feel terrible. This felt worse than when Father shows he's not interested in me. This was the first negative emotion I've had in a while, and Kankuro's reaction did it to me, why?
"You killed all of those people?" He questioned almost inaudibly. His eyes hardened and put his kunai back against my neck. "How could you do that for him?! Once the world finds out what you've done, you'll never be forgiven. The search team confirmed that out of the bodies they found, there was only one survivor!" He shouted digging the kunai deeper into my neck.
I could see why he was angry with me since I was angry at myself when it happened. My heart ached hearing those words, he was the one person I trusted and I'm nothing but a monster to him. I could feel him drawing blood as I felt it fall down my neck onto my chest.
"I know what I did was terrible Kankuro," I replied with a soft tone which caught him off guard mostly because I called him by his real name. "But like I said before, those who betray Orochimaru die or become an experiment."
"H-how are you even associated with him?"
I looked at him unsure whether to tell him or not. I reached into my weapons pouch which made him tense until he saw that I pulled out a bingo book. He gave me a curious look then eyed the book as I flipped through the pages. I turned to Father's page marking it with my finger then flipped to my page then turned it so Kankuro could see.
"Here's Orochimaru's picture," I said then flipped to my page.
"Uh okay?"
"And here is mine," I said finally handing it to him. "See anything interesting?"
He finally took the kunai from my neck making my rub it and try to clean off the dried blood. I watched as he flipped between the two pages until I saw his eyes widen. He put the book on his lap then looked over at me.
"No way...that...that monster can't be your Father. Th-that's..." He started but couldn't get the words out. He only gave me a saddened expression.
"Don't be sad, this is my life...I have to adjust." I wasn't sure why, but Kankuro was really easy to talk to and it felt like I could call him a friend...If only things were different.
"That's not fair..." He whispered reaching his hand out placing it on my scarred cheek. I only glanced at his hand before looking into his eyes. His touch was comforting making me want to lean in for more but I couldn't do this.
"Life isn't fair Kitty." I replied giving him a sad smile then took back my book.
I backed away and stood up looking down at him. There was something about Kankuro that made me feel at ease. If felt as if I could trust him with anything and I think it's the same for him but I can't let him care for me; he already cares too much. I couldn't risk bringing him down with me if he was caught trying to save me. I couldn't do that to him, he has a good life here.
"It was nice seeing you Kitty, but I must leave. Thanks for giving me the information I needed." I said with an icy tone.
"W-what do you mean?" He questioned with anger in his voice.
"I needed information on the Akatsuki and I got it; thanks." I turned away from him heading towards the window until his words stopped me.
"Wait! You don't have to go! Someone will have to understand your situation! You were forced into this life and you can still be saved! If Gaara can be redeemed, so can you!" He called out desperately. "Stand up to your Father!"
"How wrong you are Kitty, I would only be putting everyone in danger." I thought with a heavy heart. "So this is what it feels like when someone actually cares about you...Thank you Kitty for showing me compassion and being worried about my well being.
I turned around and in an instant, I was in front of his face flashing him a wicked smile.
"Could you stand up to yours?" I questioned making him narrow his eyes at me. "I bet he did things you didn't agree with. Why didn't you stand up to him when he treated your baby brother like a weapon and a monster? Where were you when he wanted to use Gaara to destroy the Leaf?" I could tell I struck a nerve making him angry but it turned into sadness.
He reached out his arm only running his finger down my scar tracing it. I held my breath not knowing what I was feeling but it was something I've never felt before; and I was afraid that he was feeling it too. I stepped away once more turning away and disappeared.
"I'm sorry Kitty, it's better this way."
As I ran home, I started to feel guilty for the words I said but it had to be done. He has a life here and I can't ruin that. I felt a connection between us and I know it just wasn't me. I was a bit worried that he would tell the others about my visit but something was telling me he won't; he didn't in the past. When I finally got back from my journey, it was the middle of the night so everyone should be sleeping. I deactivated my eyes as I entered the hideout trying to be as quiet as possible. I found it amusing though, it was as if I were a normal teenager breaking curfew trying not to get caught.
Before I could reach my room, I was slammed into the wall with a hand gripping my throat. It was too dark to see my attacker, but I already knew it was Father.
"Where were you?" He hissed in anger making me flinch. I felt my body freeze like it did the last time I angered him years ago.
"G-Gathering information," I replied which was partly true.
His grip tightened making me try to gasp for air. I grabbed onto his hand trying to pry it off but it was of no use. I could only stare into his anger fueled eyes which made my body start to tremble.
"Don't lie to me child." He snapped. "You were somewhere you weren't suppose to be."
"I-I wasn't lying." He's never been this angry at me to hold me in a choke hold. I could feel his dark aura, even his killing intent making a shiver run down my spine. Even if I wasn't in a choke hold, I don't think I'd still be able to breath. "It's true!" I gasped. He loosened his grip giving me some air. "The other Akatsuki member was an explosive expert from the Hidden Stone. His name is Deidara."
I saw something flicker in his eyes for a brief moment but then he eyes narrowed once again. "Where did you find out this information?" He questioned making me freeze. I opened my mouth to reply but nothing came out as if I forgot how to speak. He slapped me across the face making me cry out in pain. "Don't make me question your loyalty." He warned throwing me to the ground just like he did before.
"I-I went to the Sand!" I admitted trying to hold back my tears. I was too scared to look him in the eye.
He pulled me off the ground tossing me aside then kicked me in the stomach sending me hard to the ground. Kankuro's words echoed through my mind as I watched Father step towards me.
"Stand up to your Father."
No, I can't. I'm too scared. "I promise Lord Orochimaru, no one knows that I was there."
He only chuckled in response as he eyed my neck. "I can tell when you're lying Ko, you can't fool a Sannin." He said as he reached down grabbing the collar of my shirt pulling me back up.
"What is this?" He questioned tracing the cut on my neck. "Hm it seems someone knew you were there."
I had no words. I opened my mouth to speak but I couldn't think of what to say. He only laughed as he stared into my eyes which made me feel like a small child. No, like prey about to be devoured by the predator.
"I see you went to visit your little boyfriend; the puppet master." I froze in fear, I've never seen him like this before and thought I never would. I knew he was cruel but I never thought he would purposely beat me like this. "What's wrong Ko dear? Scared of something?" He said as he smirked then kicked my abdomen making me cry out once more gasping for air.
"I'm disappointed in you Ko, showing your emotions...pathetic. Letting a boy get in your head." He scoffed as he tossed me to the ground making me hit the wall then disappeared into the darkness leaving me in pain.
I stayed on the ground still looking down the hall where he disappeared. I let out a shaky breath as I got up and headed to my room. It felt like nothing had change, I'm still that weak little girl, so useless.
"He knew the whole time...how could I be so foolish."
