Chapter 7

A light shined right into his eyes making recoil from the brightness but what he was in limited his movement. When it fully tore open he tumbled right onto the cold smooth floor, Parrot curled into a ball still in a semi shock unable to still move well. He had to get used to the unbearable light before he could make out the shape of two dragons. It was Orbweaver looking over him and he had to think a little more before he could tell who it was. Rhino!? What… What happened?

"How do you feel?" Rhino asked as he lifted the dragonet up before letting him stand by himself. His feet wobbled under the weight but he had to try to balance.

"C...Co...Cold! I'm s...sle...sleepy also!"

"All brand new! I told you I was right about this!" Orbweaver said, she walked over to observe him. "Though we should've kept him inside a bit longer, the wounds haven't fully- AHHHH!" She jumped back pointing to him.

"WHAT!?" Rhino jumped in response looking all around.

"I just saw something move!"

"Behind him?" Rhino questioned peering behind Parrot.

"No! It was on him!" Rhino ran over to the RainWing. "It was green moving over the parts of the wounds that didn't heal up!"

"I see nothing, have you been doing stuff without us as we were being dragged away? It was bumpy of course. Really ruins the shoulder placement." The black dragon stretched his talons before there was a crack.

"Those cocoons are meant to heal prey that were injured in hunts within 5 hours. Poisoned prey stay in for an hour longer."

"So? He looks fine!" Parrot nodded in agreement. He took multiple steps exploring the cave they were in. It was illuminated by multiple jars of the light bugs that had bit him last night. The cave around him cocoons on the walls with the prey that she had specified earlier which started to make him feel sick in the stomach.

"Yeah, but… You know what, never mind. Right now we need to move! If the guards see you they'll just outright eat you! I've seen this type of thing before, we need to get to a cave that I know that stores WebWings that won't… You know what I mean."

"Right," Parrot felt his weight on the warm black scales of the dragon. It feels so nice and comfy. As they began to walk, Parrot could feel the strange dragon sniffing all around. He was too focused on his warmth rather than anything else at that moment. He didn't even know how far they went during that time. "What is that smell?"

"You mean the usual cave smell?" Orbweaver turned to them. "Cause it's usually like-"

"No… It's something else." The dark dragon led him somewhere. Parrot had to focus a little more to see what it was, what he saw was a smooth wall. Are caves supposed to be like this? "I think I know what this is!" Parrot tried to sustain himself by himself but the black dragon kept him close. "No, don't do that! It'll make you more sick." Parrot nodded in understanding, he saw the black talon touching the wall.

"What is it?" Parrot asked finally.

"That's the Great Anomaly! That was where our gods came from." Orbweaver said, she walked right up beside them looking it over. Her face was a look of awe from what he could tell.

"It must really inspire you," Parrot said. From the smile that she gave him it gave Parrot a wholesome feeling. It felt really nice even from a dragon from a cannibalistic tribe.

"No… It's one of the most problematic things I've seen throughout my travelling. The Winding Walls of all things is here in this cave system. Shouldn't be too surprised, last time it was one of the more deadly things in the last… Quest." Rhino placed his head close to the wall as if listening to something. "Oh no, no, no." Parrot reached out to touch it as well but the black dragon stopped him. "Best not to touch." They turned to face the WebWing. "Something's wrong with it as if… Someone or something is trying to tear through it." The WebWing nodded before turning back to look at them.

"I don't know how to tell you but… There is someone tearing through it." She walked right up to the two of them, well mostly up to the RainWing. She looked up to the older dragon: "Our god Eroalis announced that he would open up the wall for us. He said that he would be able to send us to other worlds and would have us be able to live a much more amazing life rather in the caves."

"Well there's a problem with that." Rhino said, he glanced at the wall in fear. "It's unstable, major consequences will occur from this. Like sinkholes, Earthquakes, and a lot more terrible stuff will happen." Earthquakes and sinkholes!? No… It can't be. He remembered the hole that they entered into as well as the Earthquakes happening throughout the day.

"Rhino!" Parrot cried out, both the black dragon and WebWing shushed him. "Sorry, it's just that it's already been happening. That hole we entered and the Earthquakes that happened, it's been happening for a while now!" Both dragons widened their eyes in shock at the realization.

"If we don't close that wall then all of the continent will be destroyed by the very same sinkhole we entered through!"

"But… But how!?" Orbweaver asked. Rhino looked around before picking up a rock and another rock.

"Okay, imagine this rock is the wall," he lifted the rock up before placing it down in between them. "And imagine this rock is the external pressure that someone is making to it. Now this is what happens if someone tries to make a crack in this wall!" He smashed both rocks together multiple times, with it each time making an indent in the ground as pieces of rock flew off.

"What happens!?" Parrot asked, looking at the demonstration.

"As the person breaks it, it breaks the person as well. But, but, but there is also a major fracture made into the world that it is in." He pointed to the indent. "This symbolizes major destruction to this continent. It will be destroyed by this very thing, that means if we don't stop this we'll have no home to live on and that many dragons and hu- I mean Scavengers will die!"

"How long is it going to take before this continent we're under gets destroyed!?" Orbweaver asked. Rhino pressed his face against the wall, rummaging around.

"Approximately in 7 hours!"

"Oh great!" Orbweaver cried out, tears started flowing down her face. "We have to save three dragons and stop the world from being destroyed!" She began crying. "We're going to die!"

"Woah! Orbweaver it's gonna be okay, I'll stop this from happening and we're gonna save everybody alright!" Parrot could feel tears before crying also at this basically hopeless situation. "Don't worry both of you! I promise I can do this! You've got to trust me!" The two of them started crying less. Parrot couldn't understand why Orbweaver was crying, she had been all tough when they first met her. He couldn't understand why he was thinking over this also now. Why am I thinking about all this!? Yesterday I didn't have this type of problem! He didn't think anything like this from yesterday. Yesterday he was just focused on some stuff on the venom spitting lesson and just wanting to sleep. He was scared of a lot of things but now he just dived right in after a stranger. He was scared again of this cave and things might become even worse. "Come on, we've still got to see those dragons you talked about." Orbweaver sniffed before nodding. Rhino looked over to the young RainWing. "You're coming right?" A smile lit up on the dragon's face, it was a strangely peaceful smile.

"I'm scared again." Parrot said, he looked down into the cold, dark ground. "I don't know why but I'm thinking weird things and… I just don't want to be here anymore."

"I understand, just stay with me and everything is gonna be alright." The older dragon wrapped his wing around the RainWing. "I will never lie to you about anything." Parrot smiled at what Rhino said to him. Before Parrot could say anything to Rhino there was a command that was cried out.

"Find where the food is and find Princess Orbweaver!" Orbweaver turned towards them with fear.

"Let's get out of here!" She cried, they obliged, following her down into the cave city that he was about to see.
