Chapter 8
"You didn't tell us you were royalty!" Rhino cried as the three of them ran away from the other WebWings.
"Well judging from what I told you about my mother it isn't really surprising!" Orbweaver said as they entered the city. The city was amazing looking, a large dome of silver light illuminated everything, the grey stone looked amazing under it. Large rock structures were everywhere with multiple caves in them. Smaller caves also lined the walls of the cavern making it look… Marvelous. Where did I get that word? I've never heard of it before. They kept running before taking a sharp right turn.
"Are we almost there!?" He winced as they kept moving forward.
"We should be almost there!" Orbweaver checked the corner before motioning them forward. "Over here."
"I see them! Over there!" He could hear the guards behind them.
"Come on!" Orbweaver pulled both of them into a hole in the ground. When Parrot was lowered into it, he saw two other WebWings with a bunch of glowshrooms on a table. The two WebWings were the same color with a mostly brown color of scales and some stripes of light grey. "Bold! Redback!" She whispered to them in delight.
"Orb-" They began to cry, Orbweaver immediately made a shushing sound with a talon over her snout to try and quiet them down. "Oh, sorry." The WebWing on the right whispered, the one on the left walked over to the group. The Webwings were much older then Orbweaver by… He began counting the rings on the horn, they must've been 5-years-old.
"Orb, I can't believe you're back!"
"Of course… She always had a close relation to her webs!" The other WebWing turned to face him.
"That wasn't even a pun."
"Of course, I've been… Spy-dering around." The one that made the pun cracked a grin. Orb looked annoyed at the puns.
"Anyways… The entire world will be destroyed within… 6 hours left to go!"
"Why?"
"This dragon right here explained that if Eroalis continues destroying the wall then the entire world will be destroyed. The Earthquakes are because of it." Their eyes widened.
"We have to tell the others!" The two told each other. "Right!" they said to each other again.
"I'll-" Orb was about to say.
"We'll go to the palace to rescue Parrots friends and you two will convince the god to stop!" Rhino interrupted.
"We can just tell the council of the gods about this." One of them said.
"Good point! Let's go! And hopefully we get to actually know each other better later!" They began running back to the hole as the two began going in an opposite direction.
"Rhino!" Orb said.
"What?" Rhino asked turning his over to her direction.
"I wanted to go tell the gods!"
"I know. It's just that maybe… They won't trust me. I've met other gods before so this wouldn't be the first time." Orb rolled her eyes.
"Alright then. The palace would be the largest cave out of the caverns. It would be right below us actually." The black dragon and the RainWing both gave an 'are you serious face'.
"Are you serious!?" Parrot asked, "We could have just burrowed through this cave?" Orbweaver gave a shrug.
"It is, but you would have to-" A crack echoed through the cave.
"Got it!" Rhino cried out before stepping aside to reveal an opening between the floor. It was large enough for a dragon and it was very noticeable. "Going in first. Just want to see where this should be." Orbweaver was about to go next before Parrot stopped her.
"Hey Orb, about that-"
"Don't call me that!" She snapped at him, for some reason her aggressive face looked extremely silly now once Parrot had thought it over. Her extremely forced back look on her face made it so she looked like she was doing an awkward smile.
"Fine, Orbweaver-"
"Is it about the whole crying thing!? Because I do that once in a while, breakdowns can happen if you've been alone for a while."
"No, it's just the thing that happened in that cocoon."
"Yeah?"
"You said something about it healing me for 5 hours or something?"
"Yeah," Orb looked down, as if contemplating. How do I know that word now? Contemplating, I don't even know what that is. "You've only been there for 3 hours, you should still have that gash on your neck and chest area." What? He began thinking about the wounds he had gotten. How was it healed all the way then?
"Are we going or not?" Rhino asked, poking his head out of the crack.
"Yeah, alright!" Orbweaver said before taking Parrot's talons. "This is going to be wild."
"Let's do this then." She pulled him forward towards the opening in the ground.
