Chapter 11

Jackson was in his car with Lydia in the passenger seat, they were arguing again though this time it wasn't about anything serious it was about the movie they were going to watch tonight. They were parked in front of a video store call Video 2C.

"Now Hoosier isn't just the best basketball movie ever, it's the best sports movie ever." Jackson said lightly hitting the wheel.

"No." Lydia said blatantly.

"It has got Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper" Jackson retorted really trying to drive his point home.

"No." Lydia said once again.

"Lydia, I swear you're gonna like it." Jackson told her.

"No." Lydia said with a slight smirk, she knew he would eventually just give in.

"I am not watching The Notebook again!" Jackson exclaimed irritated.

Jackson entered the video store and now looked through the aisle's slowly as he heard a phone ringing off the hook, and he couldn't find anyone in the store.

"Can somebody help me find the notebook?" he asked hoping someone would respond to him.

The telephone rang once again, and as he looked around, he saw a ladder leading up to one of the many lights thought the bulb was flickering and getting closer his heartbeat quickened. As he got closer, he saw a pair of shoes on the ground sticking out from one of the aisles like someone was laying on the ground. He slowly approached the area and passing movie after movie he finally got to the feet and turning, he saw him. A man lay dead his throat cut and his body maimed beyond belief. That's when he stepped backwards and hitting the ladder it caused the light to fall which also made all the lights in the store go out then flicker on and off.

Lydia was in the car taking selfies, she didn't even notice but was enjoying the lighting it was providing not even thinking about it.

"Oh, shit." he whispered trying to get his barring then he heard the low growl.

Jackson turned slowly and saw what he thought was an animal with red eyes staring back at him, he was stunned at first unsure what to do. He quickly came too and ducked behind one of the aisles of DVD's. Popping his head out slowly he heard the growling get louder and quickly retracted his head starring blankly at the other side of the DVD aisle. He went to peak out again, but he heard a loud bang as one of the DVD shelves fell onto the next and in domino effect it fell onto the next and onto the next. Quickly he tried to jump out of the way but one of the shelves fell on his legs.

Groaning on the floor face down he felt helpless as he heard the breath of whatever it was in the store came close to him. He felt the animal claw lightly reaching to the back of his neck where Derek had somehow stabbed him with something sharp. As if it was all too soon, felt it get off him and retract its claw from his neck.

Lydia was on her phone when she saw heard a loud crash, getting up and out of the car she saw what looked like a massive black mass heading towards the front window of the store. Quickly she got down as the beast or whatever it was shattered the glass and jumped over her, screaming she was stunned she could believe her eyes.

Stiles got into his father police car as he carried some bags and some drinks for them, they had gone to the burger joint they always did. Handing his dad some of the food he looked in and didn't see his curly fries.

"Did they forget my curly fries?" Mr. Stalinski asked

"You aren't supposed to eat fried, especially the curly ones." Stiles responded to his dad.

"Well, I'm carrying a lethal weapon. If I want the curly fries, I will have the curly fries." Mr. Stalinski told his son.

"If you think getting rid of all contraction in all your sentences makes your argument any more Legitimate, your wrong." Stiles smirked saying that to his dad emphasizing the last 3 words.

"The radio beeped, and they heard a voice 'Unit one, do you copy.' Stiles went to grab the walkie, but his dad slapped his hand and looking to his son cleared his throat taking up the walkie.

"Unit one, copy" he said to the dispatcher.

"Got a possible report of a 187." The dispatcher said.

"A murder." Stiles said his face half full or curly fries.

Stiles quickly on their way over texted Scott as he wasn't sure if it might have been the crazed Alpha again killing more people.

Stiles at in the passenger seat of the car as they got to the video store and looking at the door, he went to get out, but his father locked the door.

"Stay here." He said exiting the car.

Getting out of the cat the sheriff walked over to Jackson who was sitting in the back of an ambulance.

"Why the hell can't I just go home?" He question Mt. Stalinski.

"I hear ya, but the EMY said you hit your head pretty hard. They just want to make sure you don't have a concussion." He responded

"What part of ''I'm fine" are you have a problem grasping. Okay I want to go home" Jackson said angrily as he stared down the sheriff.

"I understand that." He retorted trying to keep the situation civil.

"No, you don't understand, which kind of blow my mind since it's a pretty basic concept to grasp for a minimum wage rent a cop like you. I want to go home!" Jackson yelled unaware that Stiles was watching and getting out of the cop car.

"Oh, woah. Is that a dead body?" Stiles questioned pointing to the body they were carrying out of the store on the gurney, not only was he exited but he was also tying to stop Jackson from doing something stupid.

"Everybody back up, back up." sheriff Stalinski said to the crowd which had grown around the gurney.

Scott and Derek stood on the roof of the video store now watching the entire scene not just looking at it but smelling the scents

"I think this might not be some random alpha, I think it might be Peter." Derek said solemnly.

"I understand that but why? This isn't standard practice we don't go out in the middle of the night murdering people?" Scott questioned him.

"No, we don't, and I don't know either. I think I'll pay him a visit, but you should probably…" Derek was about to give him orders but Scott cut him off.

"I'm not taking orders from you; I'm going to protect the people I care about and make sure your uncle doesn't kill anyone I love" Scott responded to him.
-

Scott and Derek were walking towards Scott's house in silence s they walked away from the scene. Neither could believe that Peter would be doing this and though Derek had a suspicion he couldn't fully prove it yet.

"You know I had a life before this. I still do." Scott said to Derek.

"No, you don't." Derek replied.

"Yes, I do, I don't care what Peter says or does. I left his pack and I don't have to listen to him." Scott said angrily.

"You are still connected to him, he made you his beta Scott and until that connection is fully gone, he will always hold sway. I had my suspicions it was him after the bust driver" Derek informed him.

"Why didn't you tell us." Scot demanded.

"It was only suspicion and I needed to confirm it. He wants you with him as his beta" Derek once again told Scott.

"I've defied him before." Scott said triumphantly.

"Could have been a fluke, all I know is the next full moon is approaching and if you don't help him, he will kill you and the people you care about." Derek stated.

"I won't let him do that, if he tries, I'll stop him." Scott replied to him.

"He is an alpha Scott and a demon wolf at that. You will die." He told the teen.

"I'll figure out a way just talk to him, figure out his plan. I know you don't want innocent people to die." Scott said and then walked into his house leaving Derek Hale outside.
-

Cora and Malia stood at their lockers as they grabbed their books for the first classes they had, Malia however gripped her locker tight as she saw Allison. Cora grabbed it lightly and squeezed it lightly.

"What's the issue Mal?" Cora asked.

"Allison, I just can't get over the fact it took Scott so long to get that casing for Derek and its all her fault." Malia said angrily.

"Look its not just her, he likes her, and he can't help himself. I'm sure if you showed him your feminine wiles, he'd eat it up too." Cora told the girl.

"What does that even mean?" Malia asked her confused.

"Simple, I heard Allison and Lydia talking in the hallway. Allison really likes Scott and wanted to give him her first time. Though I don't think she did it." Cora said and this caused a low growl from Malia.

Malia didn't want to think about Scott and Allison doing stuff especially because to her he was her mate and she wanted him so bad. She hated to admit it, but she missed Scott and desperately wanted to go back to the wat things were at least if not something a little different.

"I'm sure it's a passing fling, I saw how Scott looked at you before. Soon enough he will be back with you I'm sure." Cora said then they looked across and saw Scott over at Allison locker as balloons came out, both decided to listen in.

"Is it you're birthday?" Scott asked Allison sincerely.

"Yeah it is but don't tell anyone, please. I don't even know how Lydia found out." Allison responded despondently.

"Why wouldn't you tell me? "Scott asked still a little confused.

"Because I don't want anyone to know because… well I'm seventeen." Allison answered him waiting for the you stayed back or something dumb like that.

"You're seventeen." Scott said surprised.

"Exactly the reaction I'm trying to avoid." Allison told him.

"Why, I can totally see why with all the moving around you must have had to repeat a year." Scott said which caused her to smile surprised he got it.

Allison closed her locker and now stepped towards Scott as upset she was about keeping secrets from her; he was still him. He got it when most didn't and now kissed him deeply closing her eyes as she took his hands.

Malia growled lightly seeing this

"Calm down." Cora told the girl one again squeezing her hand, then they continued listening in.

"What was that for?" Scott question her confused why he got the kiss.

"For being the only one to ever jump to the right conclusion. Everybody like 'what did you get held back? Did you ride the short bus?' Uh 'did you have a baby?' that type of stuff" Allison told Scott trying to mock the people who asked the questions.

"You have to hear that on your birthday?" Scott sked surprised people could be so mean.

"Yeah, all day long." Allison said solemnly.

"Then what if we got out of here for the day?" Scott asked her to try to do his best to cheer her up.

"Skip class?" Allison said curiously, she had never skipped before.

"Yeah, the whole day. Just you and me." Scott said smiling at her.

"I've never done that before." Allison told him.

Malia groaned, the two of them were going to have an entire day to themselves while she had to go to school. God how could today suck anymore and lightly growling she wanted to ruin their day, no she had to, but Cora stopped her.

"Why don't we skip today as well. We can go have a day to ourselves." Cora told her.

"Fine." Malia accepted her proposal.

All four student now quickly left the school though from two different exits and entered two different case. Malia and Cora entered the 1969 ford mustang Mach One she had been using since Scott left it at the house. Scott and Allison entered her car and both cars sped off to properly ditch one day of class.

Jackson was in the locker room after gym class staring into the mirror after his sword, he sighed whipping away some of the fog on the mirror. Raising his hand to the back of his neck he winced feeling the cut on the back of his neck from Derek which the beast had also touched so lightly.

Walking away from the mirror he watched as people left the locker room and he walked towards his locker he used for gym. Opening the locker door, he grabbed his spray deodorant and quickly sprayed himself, he had been doing his best to forge the recent attack he and Lydia had been through. It has been hard and as he closed his locker, he looked over to the steamy locker room shower and saw the two red eyes he had seen at the video store starring at him.

He froze up and breathing heavy lightly took steps backwards as he did the red eyes got closer until finally another student came out of the steam with two small red headphones and now looked at Jackson. He sighed of relief as the kid walked away towards his own locker and realizing it wasn't what he thought he was unfrozen.

As he unfroze, he turned to see Derek and backed into another locker scared the man would attack him again like last time.

"I have no idea where Scott is." he told Derek frightened out of his mind his voice shook.

"I'm not here for Scott, I'm here for you." Derek responded to him.

"Wh..Why me, I didn't do anything" Jackson said stuttering trying his best not to offend or piss off Derek.

"No, but you saw something, didn't you?" Derek asked him to refer to the video store.

"I didn't see anything; I swear I saw nothing." Jackson said voice still shaky.

"I know you saw it, what was it? And animal? A mountain lion?" Derek questioned him prodding the boy not physically but trying to get the truth out of him.

"I didn't see anything; I swear I'm not lying." Jackson said voice shaking still scared out of his mind.

"Then calm down, say it again." Derek commanded.

"Say what that I'm not lying." Jackson said a little less shaky with a bit more conviction.

"Tell me that you didn't see anything. Slowly." Derek commanded the boy again

"I didn't see anything. I'm not lying." Jackson said slowly taking a large inhale before he said anything, at this point Jackson and Derek were face to face staring each other down.

"One, more thing" Derek said pausing as he took Jackson by the hair an pulled him a little forward seeing the cuts on the back of his neck

"You should really get that checked out." Derek told him before walking out of the locker room.

Jackson took a deep breath frozen to his spot; he wasn't as scared but still this couldn't have been a coincidence Scott, Derek, and that beast. This got him angry and holding in a yell he hit the back of his head against the locker behind him lightly taking some deep breaths.
-

Stiles had tried to call Scott multiple times all morning since yesterday murder from the animal or so the police had decided it was. Scott hadn't answered but he kept trying until finally he did get him. Isaac was next to him; he had also been trying to get a hold of him as Stiles texted him last night about what happened, and he was being ghosted by Scott too.

"What?" Scott answered him.

"Finally! Have you been getting any of my texts?" Stiles asked him.

"Yes, like all 9 million of them." Scot answered him

"Do you have any idea of what's going on? Lydia is totally MIA; Jackson looks like her has a time bomb inserted to his face, another man is dead, and you have to do something." Stiles asked him then told him.

"Like what? I'm pretty sure its Peter doing this but what am I supposed to do. I am a lone wolf with no pack." Scott said trying to keep himself quiet with Allison in the car next to him.

"Hey... I herd that. I'm part of your pack remember." Isaac said knowing he could hear him.

"I don't know, you two can do something." Stiles said.

"Okay, we can deal with it later. left, left, left, left, left." Scott hung up on Stiles and pointed left to Allison as she quickly turned and put her arm on his chest as they did.

"Sorry, sorry. I totally just soccer-mom'd you. I'm sorry." Allison said.

"That's alright. I'll just pick up my masculinity on the way back" Scott said smiling and joking with her.

Allison and Scott laughed as they drove on a dirt road through some woods until they finally stopped.
