Synopsis:
She was happiness. She was joy. A charming little girl with who would always see the positive side of things and try to find the good in people's heart. . . That girl was me, at some point. But this story is not one of those.
There is no prince charming or a knight in shining armour, but I can guarantee you that there will be dragons with flames, demons from many kinds, creatures from legends, and battles like no other.
But the greatest fight of all is. . . The conflict within the heart with weapons that many know as. . .
Emotions. . .
I am Miyuki Urameshi. The girl who lost her spark, but ended up coming back as the whole damn fire.

"It's nice to finally meet you in person, Miyuki The Spirit Detective." The bastard greeted me with his smooth and cold voice that made my stomach do a flip. Ugh, his tone and way of speaking, it reminded me so much of Suzaku and I hate it so much.
"Well last time I checked, you almost killed me!" I spit it out the truth with a low growl as one hand reached for my throwing knives.
"Yes, and looks like I made a mistake by not doing that from the start." Zankoku replied as he got up from his throne and began to cautiously walk down from the marvel stairs.
"Is that suppose to make me feel better?" I sarcastically questioned as I pull out two kunais and place one in each hand. As I stared at the magician most of the time but occasionally, I would take small glances from my surroundings in case if I see something that I can probably use for this fight.
"No, but you will feel 'better' once I finish you off." The magician added sternly as he hit the bottom of his staff into the floor, creating a loud booming sound in the process. "I first thought about just bringing you and your friends here, but after seeing how you all battle with my creatures and my daughter, Mara, I knew you will be dangerous. However, you and your little friends' strength are nothing compared to what I and my Mara possess."
"So why only bring me if you think we don't stand a chance?!" I demanded, but my only guess could be is that this man is scared deep down. Heck, this whole situation is so stupid. I mean seriously, why couldn't he just finish us off all together if he wanted to get rid of us so badly in the very first place. Is every villain thinks this is some kind of child's play?
"Well, ever since I first set eyes on you, I noticed something." Zankoku began making me rose an eyebrow at him while my heart began to pound uncomfortably between my ribcages by anxiety. Did. . . did he realize that. . . Did he actually recognize me in a way that. . . ? "Sure you don't seem as strong as your little teammates, but I am indeed curious about how in the world did you, a little human girl like yourself have the power to defeat Suzaku." The magician observed, making me let out a sigh of relief in secret-.
Wait, what? Did he assume that I was the one that killed his son?
I was about to shot at him the truth, but fast I decided against it, not wanting to give my brother more trouble he is already in with the others and that psycho bitch.
"Then why don't we let the fight decide it Big Mustache?" I taunted as my arms moved, summoning the water from my leather pouch. It flew out and crawled onto my knives, creating the long ice blades. I see that bastard smugly smirks at me.
God, now I can see the family resemblance with big ego and all. Something that I wish to erase for good.
"As I said before, you got some guts." Zankoku said with an amused chuckle as his gem on his crown began to glow. The crystal on his staff began to glow as well making me realize something.
His crown. It must be the source of his magic.
Maybe. . .
"A small water-bender girl versus the King of Nightmares who has many tricks under his sleeves, including the power to control all four elements." He informed me casually, making me tense up a little, but I quickly recovered. Okay, he might have the upper hand, but he is also foolish enough to share this small information with me.
"Hn. Might as well bring out that wand of yours Professor Snape." I commented, making Zankoku chuckle at the human girl, amused.
"You are a funny one, that's for sure." The man said before raising up his staff high and flames began to take over the magical objects' entire surface. The fire spread onto Zankoku's clothes, leaving only the pants, but turn his cape, shirt into ashes.
Oh great, another person with the anime logic. Fights with no shirts what so ever. Once the clothing beside the pants and crown, disappeared, his staff shifted into a different form. A Huge double axe with a long handle.
Alright, Miyuki. Stay focused.
After a long intense minute of waiting, I made up my mind and charged at the sorcerer with my ice swords. I began to swing the blades at his face, but he dodged each. The man then brought his own weapon and strikes with it, but I deflected it with my blade or dodge it.
Before the blade of the axe could have hit me, I jumped out of the way with a backflip. As soon as my feet hit the ground I saw the deadly sharp blade swinging toward me. In an instant, I turned my ice blades into the water and it began to crawl down to my forearms, becoming a cold and solid armour parts. Thankfully the blade didn't cut through and from then on I continued on with the fight with my ice fists that managed to deflect each of the sorcerer's attack.
On my third blade blocking, I took my chance to slide closer to the man and blast him with my water attack. Unfortunately, because I didn't pay much attention, I felt a powerful and burning fist hit me in the abdomen, forcing me to almost throw up. The impact sent me flying into the brick wall. I hit my back on it and I felt the air just being knocked out harshly. I landed back on my feet, but the pain in my back weakened me, making my legs fall on one knee. I hand one hand on the floor so I can support my body to stay up.
'Darn it!' I cursed as I held my stomach with the burning area. ' We just started it and I feel this weak. This punch was more powerful than the usual ones I get from Master Yara.' When I looked down, I noticed I landed on a surface that had an iron grate, and sure enough, I saw the familiar liquid underneath it. Water.
"Already giving up I see." I hear that bastard's sentence while I lifted up my head to look at his stupid face.
"Never!" I replied bravely, despite my voice sounding so faint and hoarse. I waved my hands up into the air, lifting up the water underneath me and boosting me upwards and also coming along. As soon as I was high enough in the air I motioned the water toward the walls, allowing me to move a little faster.
As I was ice surfing I sent many icicles towards Zankoku. Sadly however he managed to dodge or deflect them with his weapon.
Suddenly that magical weapon of his shot a huge fireball right in my direction, but I was fast enough to slide out of the way. Unfortunately, though it still hit my ice bridge right behind my trail, causing me to lose balance and fall. Quickly I moved the water underneath me, giving me a somewhat better landing. As my body hit the water I shot out of the cool water and turned it into a small ice mountain underneath me. With some kick motions, I sent ice blades right out of my small ice mountain right at the sorcerer. He again managed to deflect it. . . barely. . . And the very last one finally got him. It hit him right in the chest and now he hit the deck.
'Huh, guess he is not such a so-called pro-bender as he thought he was.' I thought smirking slightly. However, that small victory lasted only for like two minutes before he was back on his feet again. 'Oh, give me a break!' I complained irritatedly in my mind, but I guess that's what I get when I underestimate some people for a split second.
"Not bad for a human infant." Zankoku said as he stared at me with amused eyes. I again stood my ground and waited for his next attack. While examining the situation I see the gem on his crown turn green. His staff again began to morph, but this time it turned into a gigantic hammer, similar to Thor's mjolnir, but with a huge size. After the transformation, the sorcerer slammed it into the ground. Huge chunks of stone bricks or pieces flew up in the air but as soon as they got out, they stayed in the mid-air. Then Zankoku began to hit them with his magical hammer towards me. As quickly as I could, I dodged them.
'God this is like with Master Genkai and Yara.' I noted to myself. 'Just instead of Hide and Explode it's more like Hide and Go Kill!' Well, this didn't make me feel any better. 'I hope my brother and the others are doing somewhat better than I am.' I thought to myself as I run from the flying rocks.
Mara's insane laughter that came from her and her clones echoed through the entire hall along with the clashing of weapons, punches, and kicks. The Spirit Detective's team was fighting bravely, determined to put a stop to the whole madness. Unfortunately, however, they were outnumbered by the very skilled Mara. Even her sister, Kata had a troubling time to keep up with her sister's steps, giving the impression that Mara had always been at least one step ahead of her fights.
Yusuke just about to use his fist to send a blow at one of the clones, but before he can even touch her she disappeared to later on reappear with the help of the magical purple mist and send a huge kick to the male spirit detective, making him bounce on the floor like a ball and then slam his body into one of the huge pillars.
"URAMESHI!" Kuwabara cried out in worry and was ready to make a dash for his friend, however, he was suddenly ambushed by one of that monstrous woman's clone who almost stabbed him with her sai knives if the orange-haired thug didn't pull out his Spirit-Sword.
"What's the rush big guy?" The clone taunted as she licked her lips under her mask while her eyes hungrily scanned the human's shaky body.
To be more specific here, she was hungry for blood.
"GAH! G-GET AWAY FROM ME LADY!" Was all Kazuma managed to bark back before pushing the female figure away from his aura. Sadly, another one came right behind him, ready to leap onto the teen thug, and before Kuwabara knew, he was doomed like his other human friend.
Hiei and Kurama also having the same struggles tried their best to outdo the wicked warrior's tactics with teamwork, but unfortunately, their attempt to take down the clones was unsuccessful. In fact, things got much worse when Hiei took notice of Mara's hands that were about to make contact with Kurama's shoulder.
Immediately, the Fire Demon jolted upwards and pushed harshly the redheaded teen boy out of danger's way before slicing the female figure in the middle. Finally.
Once the body parts got separated, it disappeared in a small puff of smoke. However, that victory didn't last long when another one of Mara's clones showed up and hit the pressure points on Hiei's body. Like a rag doll, he fell onto the ground limply.
"HIEI!" Kurama exclaimed in shock, just before a hand pressed himself onto his shoulder, shutting down his body as well and turn him into another victim of her technique.
The redhead grunted through his teeth as his weapon fell out of his grasp and instantly turn into its original form. A red rose that was soon as flat as a paper, thanks to a foot that belonged to Mara, whose smug eyes looked down at the now weak and vulnerable fox-demon.
"Pathetic." Mara taunted as she crouched down to Kurama and roughly grabbed a hold of his rose-red locks. She lifted his head up and looked deeply into his forest green-eyes with her piercing-gold-snake eyes that held nothing but confidence and delight. "Still, I find you rather attractive. . . . And intrigued by your 'spirit'. Youko Kurama." At the name, the teen boy can't help but get stunned even more by shock as his orbs trembled.
"That's right Foxboy, I know who you truly are." Mara sadistically replied as she leaned closer to the redhead's face. "I have heard many stories of your past life. The legendary and coldblooded bandit." As those words left the woman monstrosities' mouth, Kurama's eyes got narrow as they were glaring with all their might. He wanted to say something. Anything. But he was, paralyzed. "I would have loved to see that other form of yours." Sighed Mara 'sadly'. "But this is also doing its charm." Her free hand then reached for her mask, wanting to repeat the same actions she did when she and the prisoners were in the cell-.
"Get those vampire nails off of him you slutty bitch!" A voice growled warningly. Mara turned to the source, only to see the water-bender girl who had been all beaten up pretty badly.
"And why is that half-wit peasant?" The warrior woman asked smugly as she let go of Kurama's red locks, letting his head fell back onto the cold floor.
"Because if you don't I will rip off your head!" Ruby threatened enraged like a dragon who was ready to fire, even though she looked so tired while her hand was clutching onto her injured shoulder.
"Hmpf, big words from a fragile little girl." Mara laughed mockingly as she got back up on her feet and twirled her sharp weapons between her fingers. "But don't worry. If you behave, I'll make this quick!" With that, she disappeared again in a cloud of purple smoke. Ruby looked around frantically, trying to detect where her enemy is-!
A gasp escaped from the young Water-Bender's lips as she turned around to see Kata . . . shielding Ruby with her own body.
She stood there. . . Facing the young teen girl. . . with two sharp blades stabbed right through her chest. One specifically piercing through her heart.
"No. . . " Ruby breathed out horrified before soon her lips were covered by her hand, as her eyes were widening. . . trembling in terror. . .
Kata said nothing and just stared at Ruby while blood began to seep out of the corner of her lips. But. . . the woman warrior gave a small encouraging smile to her. . . Just before her so-called sister gave her sais a twist, then parted them with a powerful and swift motion in an 'x' position. . . cutting Kata's chest in the middle and separating it from the rest of her lower body.
"Hm." Mara hummed with pure satisfaction as she watched how her sister's body parts dropped to the red carpet with a loud thud. "A weakling. . . Just like them." Was all she said but by her voice, there was no hint of remorse in it. Only pleasure and pride was there. And it infuriated Ruby even more.
From her shock and fear, she recovered and now her once scared eyes turned to Mara.
"If you want a fight so bad then let settle this right here. Right now." The teen girl offered with a low and venomous tone as her narrowed orbs were set in ablaze. With the fire of rage and pure hatred. "Just the two of us." Her voice was so different, far from her usual shy and kind one, meaning Ruby was done playing nice. The enemy was a bit taken aback by that, but at the same time she felt amused, clearly loving the accomplishment of angering her opponent. But that also wanted the warrior more of it. More mind games. Anything, to push the girl's buttons for sure.
"Is that so?" Mara asked tauntingly, but as always, her voice sounded smooth and smug, clearly holding onto her overconfidence that reaches probably above the heavens.
"Yes." The Water-bender girl replied firmly without missing a beat, absolutely sure and serious about her decision. "But leave those people out of it!" She pointed at the boys who were held by Mara's clones. "This is a fight between just You and Me. "
"WHAT?!" Kuwabara's shout was suddenly heard.
"Ruby. . ." Kurama's weak voice followed right after as one open eye scanned the Water-bender girl's figure worriedly. "Don't. . ."
"ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Yusuke screamed in shock. "DON'T BE STUPID! LET US HELP YOU!" Unfortunately, his voice and his friends' plea had fallen into deaf ears as Mara and Ruby stared at each other intensely. Like the surroundings are now nothing more than white noises that was drowned in the background.
"I will accept your challenge!" Mara replied confidently after a long intense pause as she took a threatening step forward before snapping her fingers. Within that moment, her clones turned into mists and that shifted into some kind of barrier that kept the boys in.
"The hell is this?" Yusuke groaned as his eyes scanned the magical barrier trap that surrounded most of his friends who were slowly starting to regain control over their bodies. However, it might probably take a while for the effects to wear off.
A pleased smirk was planted onto Mara's lips as her eyes began to shine in amusement with the small hint of mischief.
"Is this good enough, little princess?" Mara asked mockingly. Ruby didn't reply. She just pulled the weapon from her leather pouch that began to cover her lower arms and hands, but within minutes they became cold and solid. Not to mention sharp.
"Ruby. . . no. . ." The redhead murmured under his breath. . . But then suddenly he and the others noticed something. . .
"Wait. . . where is Miyuki?" Kuwabara suddenly asked. A question that made time freeze for Hiei and his other teammates by horror.
Meanwhile, this whole exchange and intense, tragic event Miyuki had the living day beaten out of her by the King of Nightmares. The female spirit detective tried her very best to use every single technique in the book she had learned from her masters, but no matter what, her efforts were in vain.
The female-spirit detective sent another wave of water blasts, but each was either dodged or redirected.
As the sorcerer redirected Miyuki's new water blast once more the girl instead of redirecting it she steadied herself and mover her open palm in front of her face. The water hit the surface of the skin but it didn't hurt her, it blocked the attack. However, as the water disappeared.
Miyuki then leaped up in the air and tried to kick Zankoku's face with her icy foot.
Unfortunately, the sorcerer blocked her attack with his left forearm before swinging his hammer right into the girl. Luckily Miyuki managed to guard herself with her ice that protected her forearms. If it wasn't for them, the hammer would have flattened the girl's face into a pancake. However, the impact made her once again slam into a solid surface, which happened to be a pillar. But this time as soon as Miyuki fall flat onto the floor Zankoku raised his weapon that morphed back into a magical staff and shot a line of lightning up to the ceiling, above the girl's spot, and by the female Spirit Detective managed to get on her knees the smaller rocks hit her head, cut her right eye severely in the process before the rest of the heavy ceiling parts fell on top of her, trapping her in the rubble.
The King of Nightmares let out a great fit of silent chuckles as he looked at his masterpiece with amusement, clearly feeling pleased with himself.
"Just like I thought, you had great potentials." Zankoku commented. "But you're just like your own species. A weakling." He said as his staff turned back to its original appearance. "No wonder you couldn't save that so-called friend of yours. Sanyu was his name I believe?" He then hummed with amusement like it was one of the greatest jokes he had ever heard in his life. "Human bonds and emotions such as love. What a disgusting and mortifying thing." With that, he began to make his way toward the pile of ruins to make sure his target, the female Spirit Detective is good as dead.
Cold. . .
That's how I felt at the moment. . .
Everything looked so hazy. . . and dark. . .
I felt so numb-.
Then the feeling of nothingness faded away and it was replaced with agonizing pain that was beyond indescribable.
I couldn't move my legs. Probably broken by the weight that just decided to crash on me a few seconds ago. . .
Is this really it? I am going to die in the most pathetic way possible?
"Just like I thought, you had great potentials." I hear that bastard say to me. "But you're just like your own species. A weakling." At that, I feel my anger boiling. "No wonder you couldn't save that so-called friend of yours. Sanyu was his name I believe?" At the mention of that name, I froze. How does he possibly know Sanyu? From my memories? He must have looked through it when I was asleep. . .
"Human bonds and emotions such as love. What a disgusting and mortifying thing."
Hearing this. . . I snapped. . . My eyes narrowed into a glare as I grit my teeth. My rage inside is getting out of control. . . just like wildfire. . .
How dare he . . .
How dare he say something like that!? How dare he brings up my past like it was some kind of joke!?
How disrespectful! That ungrateful, selfish, cold-hearted monster. . . Take everything so lightly, and play with other people's emotion like it was just some joke!
Like they are nothing. . . has no value. . .
How much of a cruel and twisted soul can you be?!
That's it. I am done playing the nice girl here! And I am also done waiting!
I. NEED. TO FIGHT. FOR REAL!
I will not let this asshole get away with this! I won't be that weak little girl again. . . NEVER AGAIN!
Suddenly I feel warm. The coldness that once surrounded me cease away and not only that, I see my bandaged up, sealed shoulder that was. . . . glowing with some white energy. . . The very same one that somewhat helped me not to get killed when I redirected lightning. . .
My hand began to follow the instructions my mind was giving. Doing movements were painful in the condition I was in. . . But it won't prevent me from kicking this good for nothing excuse of a human being's ass.
Slowly I managed to reach for a kunai knife. The trembling hand brought the weapon to my left shoulder and the sharp tip touched the bandages.
I don't know if this is going to work. . . But it's worth a shot. . .
'Here goes nothing.' I thought to myself before shutting my eyes close. I let my hand take control and within a swift motion, it cut the piece of medical clothing. . .now I feel the bandages loosen up, making my eyes opened up. . . and sure enough the dirty rag was now gone and all I see is that burn mark. . . or more like a white tattoo of a phoenix, now glowing brighter than before.
'It will help you in this fight. . . ' I hear Akio's voice ringing in my head.
"Akio. . ." I weakly whispered his name.
'But as I said earlier it will be one hell of a rollercoaster ride as you would put it.' Jack Frost continued on with his warning. 'Now if you unleash it before you are ready, it will cause serious damage to your body. If you are not careful enough it can burn you.'
'I know. . .' Was all I could reply to him as I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. 'But I have no other choice here. I need to do this. . .' Then I began to concentrate on reaching this newfound Phoenix Power. 'If I end up in a pile of ashes. . . well. . . It was nice knowing you Akio. . .' Now I can feel my shoulder getting warmer and warmer. . . If I don't know any better, I might say it starts to lit up into flames. . . Then the warm feeling starts to spread through my body like an infection. 'Don't worry guys. . . I will always be there for you. . . ' I mentally told myself. . . and hopefully this message also touched my friends and brother's minds. . . 'And don't worry Shuichi. . . I will make sure to tell you little brother that you said hi. . .'
Then suddenly, my eyes flew open. . .
I can feel my strength getting back into my spirit. . . and my body. . . And hopefully. . .It will be enough to kill this Son of a bitch.
Introduce him to extinction.
Or from existence. . . .
Permanently.
