But this story is not one of those.
There is no prince charming or a knight in shining armour, but I can guarantee you that there will be dragons with flames, demons from many kinds, creatures from legends, and battles like no other.
But the greatest fight of all is. . . The conflict within the heart with weapons that many know as. . .
Emotions. . .

Another powerful blast was shot at my direction, but I managed to dodge that bullet before it could even touch me. However, still not getting used to this new form and power I am using at the moment, I tripped and rolled on the floor, grunting all the way down like a clumsy mess. I was on my knees with my hands on the cracked floor. My right eye was shut because I got a cut there. Again.
This was so awful on many levels. My whole body was shaking violently and then the pain began to strike me in the chest and well. . . . Literally in every inch of my body. . . Like this power that I tapped into, it's also ripping me apart from the inside out, the longer I use it!
When I felt it again, I let out a good fit of harsh coughs. . . My mouth covered by my hand that had been burned from the fingertip to the middle of the forearm. . . But even still, it was able to feel the thick liquid coming out of my mouth. A liquid that hold the familiar iron taste, which was no doubt, my own blood.
'Damn it. If I don't get rid of this asshole soon, this Phoenix Flame will end me before him.' I thought to myself as I looked at my bloody hand palm.
'Now if you unleash it before you are ready, it will cause serious damage to your body. If you are not careful enough it can burn you.' Akio's warning rang in my mind once again. I knew this will probably cost a limb, but now it looks like it will cost my whole soul. . . Crap. . . there must be something that could help me-.
"NOW I HAVE YOU LITTLE CUR!" I hear that damn magician exclaim right before he shot a powerful purple flame-orb at me. With quick thinking, I jumped upwards high with the help of the white flame that was shot out of my feet like the bottom of a rocket, leaving a long and tall fire tornado.
Once I landed back on my feet, I used some 'firepower' to speed off.
I prepare my now flaming left fist for the big shot and once I got right in front of Zankoku's face I punched him, then sent him a big kick in the chest. From then on I give a good amount of blows from almost everywhere on the sorcerer's body, making sure I did not miss a single spot.
The man managed to block a few, but now with the power of the Flames of Light, my speed had increased like I was pure lightning. Just as the man was about to fall flat on the stone floor I punched him in the chin, hard and high up to the skies. It was so strong that it even made him fly for a good thirty feet away. Unfortunately, my lashes were probably weak, considering that Zankoku still managed to land on one knee. He was just as beaten up as I was but by the looks of it, he still had some strength. . .
Darn this guy! What does it take to kill this douchebag?
"I. . . Had. . . ENOUGH!" Panted out Zankoku with fury boosting up each word in his sentence. The tip of his sword was pointed at me and before I can even move out of the way like earlier, I was shot by that blast, delivering my back right into one of the stone pillars. Blood was spat out of my mouth as my body made contact with the solid surface. Like a rag doll, it slid down into the floor once again. Then something lifted me up. I looked down at my wounded self, only to see something black and sticky, starting to slowly crawl up on my legs and spread like some virus. With every strength I had in my aching body I tried to find my way out of it, but I was hopeless. . . I felt pathetic. . . Again. . . Why this keep happening to me? "Looks like I've won Phoenix." Zankoku laughed mockingly as he limply got in front of me. I wanted to glare at him, but instead, I winced in pain.
'Fuck, this is getting me nowhere!' I scolded at myself as I felt like another wave of agony washing over my whole being. Some of my veins just exploded and spilled out blood from my legs, making my knees buckle underneath me as that black ink-like thing now reached up higher to the middle of my chest, tying my arms and limbs in the process.
"You may be the reincarnation of my enemy but like him, you're also fool to think that you can finish me off like this. Especially with a fragile human body like yours." The sorcerer sharply pointed out in a not so nice way before letting out a short chuckle. "That fire creature must have lost its mind when it had chosen someone like you."
"Well. . ." I weakly growled at him, my left eye open while the right one remained shut due to another serious injury that probably blinded it. " This 'Fragile' body managed to kick your son's ass. And if I was able to do that, then I can do the same. . . to you! " Then she spat her blood at the sorcerer's feet who looked amused.
"Such big words and bravery," Zankoku said with his eyes narrowed in disgust. "Just like Akio, full of hope. How stupid can you be. . . ?" He raised up his sword that soon morphed back into a staff. "But enough with the sentiments. . . now. . . PREPARE TO DIE!" Was the last thing I heard from him before the gemstone on his crown began to shine brightly, connecting itself to the sorcerer's crystal ball that began to feed off of its magic.
"Shit!" I croaked out weakly before I was being electrocuted once more in my life by the spell that this bastard had shot on me. As the shock waves washed over me, the black-ink goo was now up to my face, ready to shut my lips and probably kill me in the slowest way possible.
Why. . . I have the power to stop this asshole, but I can't freaking use it!
Why. . . ?
Why do I have to be so weak? Why can't I be for once good at something?!
I have the power to help, but I don't know how to even reach it or use it properly no matter how hard I try!
I shouldn't have this! I am not worthy of it!
'Don't think like that little one.' I hear a very familiar calm voice say to me, making me hold my breath for a moment.
'Yeah, so quit whining already and focus on the real deal before you!' Another, cranky old and familiar voice lectured at me.
'Akio. . . Master Yara. . .' I called their names mentally.
'Yes Big Brains, it's me!' The old lady snapped. 'Now pull your crap together and fight back!'
'Don't give up now.' Akio's encouraging voice said to me. 'You can do this!'
'Focus on the business at hand Dimwit!' Yara reminded me again. 'Reach for the core of your power!'
' If I was able to tame the Phoenix, then so can you. Find the flame within!' The Phoenix warrior exclaimed. Hearing these words I inhaled deeply and closed my eye. I began to calm my mind blocking out everything from the outside and look into myself.
Okay.
Again, focus.
No matter how much pain my body is in, it cannot stop me from saving the ones I care about.
If my brother managed to take down Suzaku, then I can take down his father as well.
Again, just focus on what's important.
Focus. . . . Focus. . .
And that's when I felt something snap within me . . .
As the black curse captured the Urameshi girl's entire frame. Now she was trapped in the dark spell, and Zankoku can't help but feel satisfied by his achievement. To finally get his revenge on the Phoenix who had imprisoned him in the realm for many years.
He lowered down his staff, stopping the shocker blast at the same time. Zankoku swung his magical weapon in the air, and while doing that, it once again turned into something different. This time the staff turned into a trident, that was ready to freeze the girl into an ice sculpture, then break it into pieces.
However, before he can do that, he saw something on the trident's blade reflection. The other Spirit detective with his group, ready to bust into the throne room.
"Ugh, like brother like sister, I suppose." The sorcerer irritatedly stated as he stared at his opponent. "Two little pests who are hard to get rid off." With that comment, he pulled his weapon away, then slammed the bottom of his trident into the floor, with sparks coming out of it the process. Meanwhile with the group who finally got in front of the huge door.
"Hang on sis, we're coming!" Yusuke exclaimed as loud as he can, but as his hand was about to touch the door with the golden decoration, a huge hand made out of rocks suddenly grabbed onto one of his legs. "What the?!" The male spirit detective exclaimed, but his next words were caught up in his throat when he was suddenly yanked up into the air, and soon more Rock golems came out of the floor. The others managed to get away from them. Kuwabara and Hiei jumped away from their reach while Kurama picked up the exhausted water-bender girl before she was captured by the Rock-creatures. "Oh, give me a freaking break!" Yusuke shouted out of irritation as he was hanging in the air upside down since the Rock Golem held him up by his left leg.
"It seems like Zankoku doesn't want us to come in." Kurama observed as he placed Ruby down gently.
"Like heck he is!" Kuwabara agreed angrily. "He is probably torturing Miyuki or something!" With that, he summoned his weapon. "SPIRIT SWORD! Don't worry Miyuki! Your knight in shining armour is coming!"
At those words of his Hiei and the redhead glared at the teen thug before they both turned that to the magical creatures with irritation. By now everyone's hatred toward the mastermind began to increase. The Fire Demon s grip on the ice sword got tighter and within a second he leaped up in the air and slashed at the rock creature. Kurama, Ruby, and Kuwabara also followed his example. So did the male Spirit Detective.
"Out of my freaking way Ugly!" Yusuke growled at the creature before pointing his glowing finger gun at the golem's face. "SPIRIT GUN!"
Back in the throne room Zankoku turned back to the black figure.
"This should keep them busy." The sorcerer said before positioning his trident at Miyuki again. " Now where was I?!" However, before he can destroy the Phoenix once and for all, the dark spell that enveloped the girl suddenly started to light up. Soon this unknown force broke out of the enchantment, revealing Miyuki's figure once more, her tattoo shining brighter than ever on her shoulder along with another tattoo that just appeared under her right eye and her forearms and hands that were engulfed in pure white flames. "IMPOSSIBLE!" Zankoku boomed as he looked at the white-haired girl in complete shock. "No one had ever escaped from my spell."
"Well, there is always a first time for everything, Gargamel." Miyuki replied a little smoothly before launching herself at the sorcerer. At fast, Zankoku began to shoot icicles at the girl, but the female Spirit Detective deflected all with her fiery fists and kicks. Seeing his water powers are useless, he shaped the magical object into a glove that covered his left hand along with the electricity that would sparkle up a few times.
Seeing this Miyuki readied her fist while the fire increased on it. However as Zankoku was so focused on killing the girl, he doesn't even notice his enemies glances that she would occasionally steal from his shiny gem on his crown.
The two got closer and their powers were now all charged up. The Urameshi girl swung her fist at Zankoku. He did the same.
However, in the very last second, Miyuki changed directions and her flaming hand grabbed onto the crown gem while the sorcerer punched the Female Spirit Detective in the left side of the chest area. A painful gasped escaped from the girl's lips as the shock once again hit her in the area where it shouldn't have.
Zankoku smirked at the surprised and pained expression that was written all around Miyuki's face for a split second before her body flew away. The teen girl bounced up and down on the floor like a ball, but it soon stopped. Miyuki grunted out in pain, as her right hand instantly went up to her chest and clung onto her chest. Unfortunately, it made the matters worse.
"I've won little bird!" The dark sorcerer concluded. However, his victorious smirk soon fell into a frown when his ears heard something from the teen girl. . . . laughing. . . "Why are you laughing?!" Demanded the sorcerer. Miyuki struggled her way up to one knee while a smug smirk was planted on her bloody lips.
"Sorry to break it to you Gargamel . . ." The female Spirit Detective coughed out as she spat out some blood to the floor. "But this is where your chapter ends." She then held up her left fist. The Urameshi opened it up, revealing the shiny gem that was once on the crown of the Nightmare King.
He gasped at the sight of it.
"What?! How in the world-!" Cried out the man in shock, but soon he recovered and pointed his trident at the girl. "Give it back you filthy creature or you will face my wrath." He then began to run at Miyuki with a battle cry. The female Spirit Detective looked at the man blankly as she calmly threw the gem high up in the air. Her other hand already prepared a kunai knife that was soon covered with the Flame of Light.
"Like hell will I." The girl sarcastically commented. Just as Zankoku was like ten feet away from her, Miyuki swung her weapon at the falling gem and cut it in half.
The boys and Ruby tried everything, but it seems like the rock Golems' doesn't know the concept of 'giving up'.
"Darn with these things!" Kuwabara shouted angrily as he and the others were trying to catch their breath. "Why can't we cut them into pieces?!"
"Well, it seems like the spell of Zankoku's preventing us to do any damage on them." The redheaded demon stated.
"Great to know that!" Yusuke said annoyed with sarcasm dripping from his tone. "Then how are we going to kill these things Foxboy, because I would really like to hear it?"
Right after his question had been said, the door before them exploded off as the light that came from the room engulfed their vision. Everyone began to either take cover or shielded themselves from the blinding light and the strong gust of wind that comes with it. It took everything to not get knocked off of their feet. Unfortunately, Miyuki wasn't that lucky since she was one of the people who were closest to the explosion. She hit the pillar and blacked out right after her body hits the floor. The hanging flag on the pillar suddenly fell down and covered the girl from view.
As for the King of Nightmares. . .
"No. . ." He cried out weakly as he looked at his hands in horror. Feeling the fear taking over him for the very first time in his life. . . and so is his permanent doom. . . "No-No-NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" He screamed in terror. Then suddenly, his hands began to decay. His skin began to crumble from them. The same thing happened to his face. Then to the rest of him. The sorcerer cried out in pain as his body started to waste away. His entire being turned into nothing but a skeleton, but even that soon started to fade into dust.
Zankoku's existence was no more and his powers, which were mostly stolen from many talents, they now gained their freedom.
The danger ceased away.
Kurama was the first one to drop his guard down, then the rest followed. A look of disbelief painted its way on their faces when they see the now destroyed throne room.
"Well, isn't that a nice view?" The Urameshi boy commented out loud sarcastically.
"Miyuki!" Ruby cried out her friend's name as she and the boys rushed into the room.
"Come on sis, stop playing around!" Yusuke said as he and the others tried to look through the rubbles.
"That's weird, I can't sense her energy anywhere." Kuwabara informed the others.
"Does. . . Does that mean. . . ?" The Water-Bender started with a trembling voice as her eyes were close to tears.
"No, I am sure she is okay Ruby." Kurama attempted to reassure the water-bender as he placed one comforting hand on her shoulder, but in reality, he was just as scared and worried as the others were.
Seeing no other option Hiei lifted up his bandana and used the Jagan eye.
Regret and worry hit him in the gut when he finally found her. His crimson eyes opened up and pulled his bandana back on before running toward the royal blue flag that covered Miyuki. Kurama took notice of that and without any hesitation, he followed him, then later on the other catch up.
"Did you find her?" Ruby asked hopefully. The Fire Demon gave no reply and his hands lifted up the fabric material, revealing the all beaten up Female Detective with black hair and many massive burn marks and scarves. "MIYU!" Cried out the young bender and immediately rushed to her side.
"SIS!" Yusuke worriedly called out for his unconscious sister.
"Oh god, what did he do to her?" Kuwabara breathed out in distress, completely stunned by the horrifying image he is witnessing at the moment.
Ruby carefully rolled her best friend's body onto her back. Miyuki's eyes remained closed as she wore a peaceful expression. Half of her messy black-locks covered her right eye, the skin of her tone lost so much colour, and most part it had ugly burn marks that looked like cracks on a recently broken porcelain doll. Especially on her left arm, from shoulder to the tip of her finger. Like an infection it even spread up to her neck and upper chest area.
"M-Miyuki?" Ruby softly called, not hiding her worry or the fact that she felt heartbroken by the sight of her wounded friend-.
"AAH!" The black-haired girl screamed out as her good eye flung open. Kuwabara let out a yell of surprise as he, Yusuke, and Ruby fell on their butt. The redhead jumped a little as a gasp escaped from his throat. Hiei almost did the same, but he managed to keep himself composed.
"HOLY SHIT!" The Male Spirit Detective cried out as he tried to get over the effect of the sudden outburst Miyuki had let out.
"The hell happened?" Miyuki asked with a loud yet raspy voice as her chocolate brown orb darted around the place. "What's going on?" She frantically asked as her eye scanned each of her fellow teammates. "Please tell me nobody kissed me!" She pleaded with a serious tone. The sentence made everyone around her weakly chuckle but nonetheless, they were relieved.
"And her humour is back." The redhead couldn't help but comment.
"Oh, shut up Princess." Miyuki weakly retorted as she let her head fell back on the floor as her brother and his two friends' laughter was heard.
"Miyuki!" Ruby cried out with joy and she leaned down to hug the female Spirit Detective. "You're okay. . ." She squeaked out as she tried to hold back her tears.
"It's. . . It's alright Jewels. . . " Miyuki reassured her friend. "I'm alive, see?" However, she sadly cut the mood short when she unintentionally began to cough up.
"Are you okay though?" Yusuke asked as he kneeled down to his sister. In response, the girl just kept coughing. Feeling something coming up, the girl quickly turned her head to the side and spit out the red liquid with the bitter and iron taste. Yusuke's eyes began to tremble in terror as soon as he saw the blood. Kurama felt the same, no doubt and so were the others.
Snapping out of her shock, Ruby summoned her water gloves and began with her healing process. Sadly, she couldn't even start anything, because the whole palace started to crumble around them.
"Oh no." The young water-bender breathed out.
"We have to get out of here!" Kurama urged. The teammates said no more, just nodded their head in agreement. Yusuke was about to pick his sister up, but Hiei had already done it for him.
"Hey, but what about that-AGH!" Kazuma's question was cut off by the redheaded fox-demon who yanked him closer to the others.
"Stay close everyone!" Ruby warned as she pulled out the red crystal orb from her pocket and with the help of her spirit energy she unlocked it. The item began to glow and within a second, it's light covered the whole group completely then took them all into Spirit World.
