Synopsis:

She was happiness. She was joy. A charming little girl with who would always see the positive side of things and try to find the good in people's heart. . . That girl was me, at some point. An innocent soul with a pure heart along with the mindset where everyone would get their happily ever after, prince charming and everything like in most fairy tales. . .

But this story is not one of those.

There is no prince charming or a knight in shining armour, but I can guarantee you that there will be dragons with flames, demons from many kinds, creatures from legends, and battles like no other.

But the greatest fight of all is. . . The conflict within the heart with weapons that many know as. . .

Emotions. . .

I am Miyuki Urameshi. The girl who lost her spark, but ended up coming back as the whole damn fire.

"What are you doing here?" Miyuki asked a little puzzled as she looked at her so-called friend with a small hint of suspicion in her eyes since she doesn't really know what to expect from the Fire Demon who just came out of nowhere and decided to visit her out of all people. In fact, she didn't even count on Hiei's sudden visit due to his personality.

"Shouldn't you be resting?" Retorted the demon boy back, his voice stern and blunt as usual.

"Hn." The black-haired girl scoffed out as she turned her head away from his figure and look at the tree's crown, now finding them a little more interesting than the view that she previously witnessed and is standing right in front of her.

Hiei rose an eyebrow at the girl, as she got those gaze of her that soon turned into a longing look. He turned in the same direction, but all he saw was the tree branches and the green leaves that the wind was swinging back and forth.

'Man, I wish I can jump and climb up over there right now. . .' Miyuki thought to herself as her stare remained on the tree. 'At least I can get away from this freak-!' Her thoughts were interrupted when her hand and bare feet sensed the ground's vibration which soon followed by loud people that are yelling from afar. Or more like calling for the Urameshi girl's name.

"MIYUKI?!" Kuwabara's raspy voice cried out worriedly as he and Yusuke looked around the place. Apparently, they wanted to check on the girls after he and Yusuke fetched up Kurama from the city's arcade.

"Come on Sass Queen, I think you're a bit too old to play hide and seek. Don't you think?" Said the male Spirit Detective right after it as he and the other boys began to look around the area.

Miyuki let out a small groan and was about to reach for her crutches, but suddenly was picked up by Hiei.

"What the-? What are you-?!" The female Spirit Detective stammered, but before she can finish her sentence or get an answer from the Fire Demon, he jumped up to the tree and hide behind the branches and leaves with the girl he had scooped up into his arms. At first, nothing happened but after a few minutes later the gang arrived to search for their teammate.

"She should be here somewhere. . ." Ruby informed as she leads the boys to the garden's area. "This is where she would mostly be."

"Oh yeah, I remember." Yusuke laughed a little because of the memory the place had jogged out of his mind. "She would be covered in dirt and water after master Yara kicked our asses here." He rubbed the back of his neck as a nervous sweat drop rolled down from the back of his neck, remembering about those training events very clearly.

"I think it's a perfect place for relaxation." The Fox-Demon can't help but comment as he eyed the many colourful and magnificent plants that surrounded them. From top to bottom and from big and small.

"You got that right." The Water-Bender girl agreed with a small smile since she lived in the temple most of the time.

"Hey, look." The orange-haired teen exclaimed as he pointed a finger at the crutches that are lying on the bottom of the huge tree where Hiei and Miyuki are on. The Fire Demon was covering Miyuki's mouth, to keep her from letting out a single sound. It annoyed her non the less, but since the others were there, she decided to wait it out before she can give a piece of her mind to the apparition that is keeping her hidden from view.

"What are those doing here?" The Urameshi boy asked curiously as he approached them and picked them up. "Some new decorations? Is it Halloween already?" The boy joked as he turned to look at his female friend.

"I put them for Miyuki, since the damage on her body, will forces her to limp or getting out of balance for a few days." The water-bender girl said as she got closer to Yusuke along with the redhead and Kazuma. "In fact she shouldn't even be out here." She added the last sentence like a stern and concerned mother.

"I'm sure she is not that far away." Kurama said calmly and soothingly as he placed a comforting hand on Ruby's shoulder, making her flinch slightly right before turning into a blushing mess while her eyes looked elsewhere.

"Can't you sense her energy Mr. Sensitive?" Yusuke asked in a mocking matter. Usually, Kuwabara would snap at his punching buddy for the stupid nicknames, but this time, his body went stiff instead while his face got pale like he had just seen another ghost he didn't want to meet. "What?" The male Spirit Detective asked a little annoyance in his voice, but he was also confused by this new behaviour that is coming from his punching buddy.

"I can't. . ." Kuwabara finally answered his voice sounding like he was out of breath. His response surprised the people around him, including the overprotective brother figure.

"What do you mean you can't?" The brother figure asked him with a puzzled look and expression. Kuwabara took a deep breath before he can explain his reasonings any further.

"I honestly don't know how, but for some reason, I had never been able to sense her energy at all. " Kazuma began with a hint of hesitation since he didn't want to worry others more. " Even from the start I couldn't sense anything coming from her. Like she is hiding it all the time. . ."

"You're joking, right?" The Urameshi boy questioned with a tone of disbelief and try to somewhat have this hopeful thought that what his teammate just said is just a sick joke, but he became doubtful by each passing second the more he stared at Kuwabara's solemn face.

"Actually, it's true." The redhead confirmed his friend's words gaining Yusuke's stare and attention.

"There is no big surprise there, really." Ruby suddenly spoke up making everyone whip their head around to they can now look at the Water-Bender girl. "Benders tend to have a different type of Spiritual Energy that is hard to detect even with the person who has the highest level of awareness. The main reason being is that it's all connected to like our level of emotions. So it's almost like they can have some control in hiding it from others, but at the same time it can be revealed without our knowledge. But that all depends on our feelings and a little bit about our mindset."

"Is that so?" Kurama asked intriguingly, earning a small nod from the female fighter as his answer.

"Mine is sensible since I am open with my emotions." Ruby continued on with her explanation. "But in Miyuki's case, however, it's barely sensible since she is still closed up."

"Well, that's her alright. . . " Yusuke sadly sigh because it is painful for him to see her close up from the world around him. "But now how are we going to find her?" He asked because he wants her to be safe, like every sibling would want for their loved ones.

"Beats me." Kuwabara sighed with a small shrug of his shoulders, right before his hand lifted itself up so he can brush away his messy orange locks from his view. "Hopefully she is not with that mouse." He grunted under his breath.

"With who?" Yusuke questioned as he turned to look at the orange haired thug.

"Oh, it's nothing Urameshi, it's nothing." Replied Kazuma fast as he scratched his cheek with his index finger. Not satisfied with that answer and with that somewhat secretive glance that Kuwabara has at the moment it made Yusuke get the wrong idea and grabbed the teen by the collar and brought him close to his face.

"If you think about trying to get fresh with my sis again, I'll rip your head off!" The Urameshi boy shouted at Kuwabara, who became very defensive and tried to 'reassure' the brother figure that he wasn't even thinking about that. Unfortunately to Yusuke's temper, the two ended up jumping into another round of petty and rough catfight. As the boys were pulling each other's hair Ruby and Kurama just looked at from their distance with amusement yet confused look on their faces while sweat dropping in embarrassment.

"Should we stop them?" The Water-Bender girl asked the redhead as she let out a small nervous chuckle and pointed at the fighting cloud that was created by dust and the boys' stupidity.

"I think it would we best if we not interfier. " Kurama suggested with a small chuckle as he watched the show in front of him unfold. "Let them have their fun. Sooner or later, they will get tired of it." As his eyes kept looking at them the redhead couldn't help but raise his respect toward Yusuke for the fact that he deeply cares about his sister that much. Even though he has some disagreements with his methods, but still. . . As a brother figure himself, he knew the feeling of being overprotective over his family. In fact, he would have done the same thing since he sees his little Phoenix as a little sister figure to him.

A small sound of someone sneezing made him snap out of his thoughts. He looked around, but none of his friends was the one that let out that small strange voice. Then he heard it again, but it came from above him this time. Kurama looked up with his brows furrowed together curiously, but he found nothing.

"Is something wrong?" Ruby asked out of curiosity before looking at the direction the Fox-Demon was looking. There was a small moment of silence, and it stretched on, meaning what the redhead had heard, it must be just something else.

"Oh no, it was probably nothing important." Kurama replied to the girl with his soothing voice as he turned his head back around to look at Ruby and shake it dismissively.

Eventually, the boys' horseplay had ended, and since there was nothing more to look for in that garden, the small group of friends began to leave the area and search for the Urameshi girl somewhere else where they can possibly go to. There was no luck in their investigation, but they kept on looking until the sky became dark and it made them finally go away from the temple. However, Kurama for some reason went back into the garden and look at the tree one last time. But after a while or so, he eventually left again. But when he walked into the long halls, he suddenly turned to the corner and froze on the spot. From where he is, he saw Ruby watering the small bouquet of lavenders and white freesias that are in a small vase. Once the girl was done with her duty, she left in another direction. Kurama took a good look at the flowers on that small desk, and a small smirk danced upon his expression, because an idea popped into his mind. And for that to realize it, he reached inside his hair and took out something special. . . a gift for someone he considers very unique and beautiful. . .

"I'll inform you about her later." I told Yusuke reassuringly as I escorted the boys toward the gate after this long-long search that we did after my favourite dummy, but had no success. I honestly have no idea where she might be, but knowing her, she is really stubborn but at the same time she acknowledges her own limits, and that her body needs time to recuperated.

"Thanks, and make sure she won't do anything stupid, ya dig?" The big brother figure to me before he and Kuwabara began to climb down the stairs. I waved my farewells for them, just before the two got into another petty tantrum fight of theirs.

Seriously, give it a rest already. But at least now I get what Miyuki was talking about.

I let out a sigh and just turned my gaze away from the toddlers so I can say my proper goodbyes to Kurama.

"Until next time then Ruby." The redheaded gentleman politely said as he waved a hand toward my direction. I waved back as I closed my eyes and stretched my lips to a wide smile. Once they were gone, I went to the Healing room's direction, hoping for the third time that Miyuki would be there, but when I passed the table that was decorated with my small flower bouquet I froze on my track.

My eyes were glued to that one single flower that stood out of them all. A single purple rose in the very middle.

'How did that get there. . . ?' I couldn't help but ask myself as I pull that rose out of the small bouquet. However, as soon as I got the pretty flower inside my grasp, I can feel that small trace of energy living within it. The same energy that comes from the only one person's who popped into my mind and made my heart skip a beat. . . 'Kurama. . .' I mentally called out his name as I looked back down at the purple rose and stare at it for a while, astonished by this beautiful gesture. . . And from then on I felt my whole face burning furiously while my brain was trying to deny the fact that my heart is racing after the fox demon's affection.

Before my fantasies can get ahead of myself I shook my head violently and took a deep breath to calm myself down while my hands were clutching the flower close to my chest.

Ruby, calm down. It's just probably a friendly gesture. I mean, Kurama gave colourful roses to Miyuki before. So. . . he is just trying to get close to me as friends. . . right?

But could this be meaning something else? Could this be something. . . more to it?
