Day 10: Screaming / Silence
"NO! LET ME OUT! WHY WON'T THE HATCH UNLOCK?! OPEN UP! LET ME OUT OF HERE!"
Shinji kept screaming, kept pounding on the hatch above his head. He knew that he was just using up precious air, but he didn't care. In fact, it was kind of a relief. He couldn't take the silence anymore.
"Ms. Misato, what's going on?! Ms. Misato!
"Asuka! Ayanami!
"Ms. Ritsuko!
"Father…"
He was alone. There was no one to answer him. He would never see anyone ever again.
He started to sob. The stench of blood was getting stronger.
He was going to die here, trapped in this Angel's shadow, alone. That last part shouldn't have been a surprise; he had always been alone, hadn't he? But he couldn't stand this awful silence. He would give anything for someone to talk to.
That was the last thought he had before he heard his own voice calling to him.
