Day 13: Grief / Feels Guilty For Being Happy

Ritsuko's relationship with Naoko had been complicated, but that didn't mean that she didn't miss her. She was her mother, after all.

She knew why Naoko had killed herself. There was a part of her that felt she should blame Gendo Ikari for her death. Instead, she found herself blaming her mother, almost against her own will.

That same part of her that wanted to blame Gendo also felt guilty for stealing her mother's lover. Maybe this was the "daughter" in Ritsuko, the counterpart to Naoko's "mother" in Balthasar. Whatever it was, it was easy to ignore. Ritsuko was caught in the bliss of romance.

That part kept saying that this man was only going to bring Ritsuko more tragedy. The rest of her didn't seem to care.
