Day 13: Slammed Into Wall / Forced To Their Feet
Shinji barely felt Misato pull him up by his arm. He barely heard her screaming at him. His emotions were dull, but they clogged up his head and made the world seem vague and distant.
He wasn't even there when Misato fell against the wall, holding the bullet wound in her side.
But as he stared at her blood on his hand, the fog in Shinji's mind thinned a bit. He was suddenly aware of the pain in his shoulder from when Misato had grabbed him. Just as suddenly he realized that he might never see her again.
The hazy misery turned to true sadness, and Shinji cried as the elevator took him away from her forever.
