Day 16: "Put your weapon down." / "Keep fighting."
They wanted him to fight this Angel, except that this Angel was also an Eva. There was a person inside of it. Shinji couldn't do that. That kid must be scared out of his mind right now, even more than Shinji was. He was an innocent victim, and now Father wanted Shinji to kill him?
Everyone was screaming at him to fight. Everything inside of Shinji was screaming to stop.
The strange thing was, he felt...good, in a way. Brave. This was wrong, and he knew it. People could bully him into fighting the Angels, but there was something inside him, some steely strength that wouldn't bend to an order this awful.
And then his father inserted the dummy plug, and all of Shinji's strength meant nothing.
