Chapter 7

Kate walked the two ladies into Wayne Enterprises. They headed up to Kate's office to find it empty. She went right for the bookshelf and Mary asked,

"Kate, what do we need off the bookshelf?"

"Oh, just a little something," she reached for the encased pearls and pulled. The wall opened up, revealing an elevator. She looked at Kara who was practically jumping up and down out of joy.

"Kate…" Mary was unsure what was going on.

"She's seen the Tower," Kara smiled at Mary.

"The what?" The Asian woman was so confused.

"I even have my own little spot there," Kate winked before climbing onto the elevator. Kara quickly followed. Mary took some coaxing, but she managed to get in, despite her reservations. The elevator opened at the bottom of the shaft and Kate walked out, toward Luke, who was sitting at the Bat Computer, like it was no big deal. Kara marveled at the size of the cave and at the wall of bat toys, while Mary stayed close to the reporter.

"Finally! We're going to lose…" Luke stopped mid-sentence upon seeing a very familiar blonde.

"Kate!" He managed.

"What?" She asked.

"You let a reporter down here? How long will it be before the whole world knows who you are?" His tone was low and through gritted teeth.

"You have nothing to fear Luke. I wouldn't spill Kate's secret," Kara said from back near the elevator, where she was studying the Bat Suit. That threw the young man for a loop.

"How did she…" he started. His jaw was almost on the floor as was Mary's.

"There is a lot you don't know," Kate smirked before continuing, "what have you got?"

"Alice's goons they tried to follow your dad this morning but of course the Crows were ready. The bigger thing now is a van filled with a second bunch of them was spotted heading into the industrial park, but the GCPD lost them," he explained.

"Of course, they did. Kara, I could use your help on this one. Only if you're up for it though," Kate said, knowing exactly what she was asking of the Kryptonian.

"I thought you'd never ask," she had a smile on her face.

"How are you going to help? What the hell is going on?" Mary wanted to know, turning toward Kara. The blonde took off her glasses and handed them to Mary. The woman took them and watched as Kara tapped the gold bar that she wore. Her suit materialized right before Mary's eyes and the woman looked like she was going to pass out.

"Is the Bat Cycle ready to go?" Kate asked Luke as she headed for her suit.

"Yes…" he was surprised.

"Good. Do you think you can make my suit do what Kara's did?" The brunette wondered as she pulled the suit off the special hangar. She headed for her usual private spot to change.

"I think the bulletproof thing is something that would need to be worked out. The nanites don't make me bulletproof since I already am," Kara smiled.

"Nanites is brilliant," Luke was already getting ideas.

"They make it very easy to not lose your clothes. No more changing in phone booths and running out to the store to buy more after you lose them," she winked at him.

"And a lot easier than stuffing a duffel somewhere," Kate said as she emerged, changed and ready to go.

"Should I ride on the back of the bike? Would people of Gotham freak out if I was suddenly flying around?" The blonde asked.

"People of Gotham have been putting up with weird stuff all the time. I don't think they'd freak but you'd probably make headlines," Kate admitted.

"Just what we need to convince your dad then. Big and splashy it is," Kara smirked. Luke quickly gave them the coordinates that the van was last spotted and the two headed out of the tunnel exit of the Bat Cave.

Meanwhile, the FBI raided Andrea's possible hiding spot. J'onn and M'gann watched from above as the agents moved in. It had been agreed to conduct the raid in broad daylight and light the site as much as possible to avoid too many shadowy places for Andrea to hide.

"This feels weird," M'gann admitted.

"It does but we must do what we can to play within the rules. Capturing Andrea will be a big help for the case against Lex," he said. His girlfriend nodded before noticing movement on the south side of the abandoned building.

"There!" She pointed. J'onn followed her gaze before they two of them quickly took off heading for the not so shadowy Andrea.
