Hey, guys! So, this is the second part for the Castle of Dreams mini arc! Yeah, so I didn't really plan on this Cinderella story arc to last that long. This is all part of Ignis' growth development as she learns more light and darkness, which, in extension, means learning much more about reality. I hope that I at least managed to get the Cinderella-related characters correctly and tried not to make them too OOC if possible!
Disclaimer: Mage of Hope doesn't own any Kingdom Hearts series, only the OCs!
It's only been one full day, and Ignis was ready to yeet at least one of the stepsisters out of a window, or at most, the entirety of the stepfamily.
Instead, Ignis settled for lodging into a nearby chair, letting out a big sigh as she decided to take a few minutes of rest before she continued the rest of her chores.
It was already bad enough dealing with the entire stepfamily and their demanding chores the night before, but the very next day felt 10 times worst for her. She had to wake up incredibly early, much more earlier than her usual sleep schedule back in the Land of Departure, and from there, it was an entire full day of chores with no breaks whatsoever.
The cooking were all done (thankfully) by Cinderella's mice and bird friends, though it did take a while because they were all still small creatures and Ignis had no idea how to cook without accidentally blowing or burning something up. While they dealt with the cooking, Ignis had to take care of all the other chores inside Cinderella's home.
Scrubbing and wiping the floors, making the beds, doing the laundry, washing the windows, gardening, and so many other chores kept Ignis occupied the whole time. It should be impossible for a single person to do all of these chores in a single day! If it required the whole day, there it shouldn't even be a single person's job! If Cinderella had to deal with this kind of labor every single day, then Ignis' respect for her went up the roof for having to endure this long without complaining or getting angry at her stepfamily.
Then again, perhaps Cinderella's friends aiding and providing support in many ways was a main factor for Cinderella always retaining her kindness and not giving into her bitterness.
If it were Ignis, though, she would have either ran away, burned something up, or at worst, have given into the darkness. If she had, then it would have been simple for her to deal with Cinderella's stepfamily. If Ignis gave herself up to the darkness, if she gave into her selfish desires of frustration towards the stepfamily, she wouldn't hesitate to end them al-
Ignis shook her head, blinking in shock. What was she thinking?! Actually going through the possibility of destroying Cinderella's stepfamily? If she started thinking like that, then she really would be a step closer to the darkness! No matter how mean, unfair, and rude they were, the stepfamily haven't necessarily done anything evil. Well, in Ignis' eyes, she counted neglect and abuse as evil. As much as she hated the unfair treatment towards Cinderella, she couldn't get rid of the only family that Cinderella had left, even if deep down, there was some sort of dark desire that wished for that even though it may led to the evil that is darkness.
'Then again, I was already exposed to darkness a long time ago when I secretly started practicing darkness magic,' Ignis thought, leaning forward and placing a hand under her chin, reminiscing on her past memories. 'But...does actively using darkness magic count as giving into the darkness as well? I couldn't ask Master Eraqus because...well, it's darkness and all. I know how much he despises it, but still...how would he handle this situation?'
"HEY!"
Looking up, Ignis spotted the stepsister dressed in green; Drizella Tremaine. She was the older stepsister, which made her the oldest sibling in Cinderella's family. In all honesty, between the two stepsisters, Ignis didn't really know which one she despised more. Drizella or her other sister, Anastasia.
"What are you doing, resting?! Servants like you don't have time to rest! Get back to work or I'm telling Mother!" shrieked Drizella loudly, leaning in close to Ignis to emphasize her anger towards her.
Ignis winched from the close-up shriek. "Jeez, lady, that was RIGHT BY MY EAR! GOD! And alright, alright! I'm getting back to work! I just wanted a quick one-minute break! Was that sooo hard, princess?"
Drizella appeared much more angered by Ignis blatant attitude towards her and stomped her feet. "Ooooh! You are by far even more infuriating than Cinderella! You're lucky that I'm feeling a bit merciful today! Otherwise, I would have told on you to Mother!"
"*cough* Tattletale *cough*" coughed Ignis.
"What did you say?!"
Ignis feigned ignored and bowed her head, giving off a mocking curtsy gesture. "Oh, I'm soooo sorry, Your Royaliness!~ I was just having a bit of a cough, that's all! PLEASE forgive me!"
Not understanding the amount of sarcasm towards her, Drizella calmed herself and crossed her arms. "Hmph! Well, so long as you understand!"
'God, I wanna go home,' Ignis thought exhaustedly. 'Oh, wait! I have been wondering about something for a while, and maybe she might give me the answer! Now's the chance to ask her!'
"Hey, Dri...Drizelda, right?"
"LADY Drizella! Not Drizelda!" corrected Drizella, scoffing. "Hmph! I shouldn't be surprised that a pesky commoner like you would be that ignorant!"
'...Just one spell. Just one frickin' fire spell; I totally wanna set her dress on fire WHY CAN'T I?!' thought Ignis, internally screaming as she struggled to keep it all together. "R-Right...Lady Drizella...I wanted to ask you something."
"And why should I answer? In case you haven't figured it out, I must attend to Mother's lessons for etiquette soon," Drizella said, flipping back her locks with a sloppy swing of her hand, as though trying to act fabulous.
"Then why are you still here, bothering me?" muttered Ignis loud enough for Drizella to hear her.
"If you must know, I'm simply taking a stroll. We do take breaks in between lessons, you know," Drizella spoke, as though proud of that fact.
"You know, Cinderella could use breaks in between chores, too," Ignis pointed out.
"HA! That girl doesn't deserve anything but to continue being nothing more than a servant girl! She should be grateful that Mother is allowing her a place to sleep here in our home! In fact, she should be grateful for a lot of things!"
'If she keeps talking bad about Cindy, I'm gonna do more than set her dress on fire. I'm gonna throw her out a window!' thought Ignis, increasingly growing annoyed and angry.
"Driz-Um...LADY Drizella... Can I ask you just one question?" asked Ignis. "It'll be really quick! And then, you can go to your merry way and I can finish up my work."
Drizella turned her attention back to Ignis. "What is it? And make it quick! I've got things to do!"
"Alright, simple question. Why do you hate Cinderella so much?"
Puffing up her chest and sticking her nose up in the air, Drizella spoke in a nearly proud tone, "Because she's nothing more than a servant! She thinks she's soooo great! Being much more prettier than me and my sister!"
"Wait...the reason why you hate her so much is because she's prettier than you?" wondered Ignis. "I mean, you're not wrong on that. Cinderella definitely is more prettier, but-"
Drizella gasped at Ignis' short but somewhat cruel comment. "How DARE you?! Are you implying that I'm UGLY compared to Cinderella?!"
Ignis was so, so tempted to say yes just to see Drizella's reaction and the look on her already shriek-filled face. But, at the same time, she didn't want to deal with anymore shrieking from another stepsister, and if she kept up her own disrespectful attitude, Drizella may not provide her with the answers she needed, so she stayed her tongue.
For now, at least.
"Oh, no," spoke Ignis with a hint of sarcasm in her tone. "You definitely are the most beautiful in your family-no, the entire world, in fact! Definitely not UGLY."
"Why, thank you! It's nice to be appreciated and complimented by someone other than my sister and mother! Even if it had to be from a lowly commoner!"
'My god, how dumb is she? I was blatantly using sarcasm and she still didn't notice! I'm starting to think that Cindy not only has the looks, but also the brains as well. If only she had the brawns, too,' thought Ignis. "Yeah, beautiful aside...is there any other reason why you hate Cinderella? You know, besides the fact that you think that she's prettier than you."
"Obviously, because we're better than her! She may have been from a noble family, but Mother has always looked down on her ever since we were little! Mother always told us to treat her like a servant, to always look down on her because she is one! And I couldn't agree more! Ohohohoho!"
'Wow, I really wanna smack her in the face now,' Ignis thought. 'Hang on, her Mother told her to? Cindy's stepmother?' "Hang on, your Mother told you to? If that's the case, then why does she hate Cinderella too?"
"Why should she?" questioned Drizella. "Cinderella shouldn't even dare be that much more prettier than any of us! I mean, Cinderella isn't even blood-related to Mother! She may have used to be of noble blood, but she's nothing compared to me and my sister! We're far more noble than that servant!"
"Wait, so, because Cinderella isn't really her daughter in blood, that's why she's treated so awful?" wondered Ignis. "But...that's horrible! I mean, even if she isn't blood-related to you guys, that still doesn't give you a right to treat her so horribly! Aren't you guys family? How can you treat each other like this?"
"Family? Ha! The only family I have is Anastasia and Mother!" laughed Drizella, as though the answer was obvious. "Cinderella should be honored! A servant like her being related to our noble family through the marriage of our former stepfather!"
'Since her stepfather is Cindy's actual father, that has to mean that he's dead. Can't really question a dead person,' Ignis thought. 'Yeah, I think I'm done here.'
"Well, I must be going. Mother awaits me for my lesson after all," bragged Drizella, turning around to leave.
"Oh, wait!" said Ignis, stopping her before pausing to think about her next move. 'I am NOT leaving yet without saying at least one more insult! This bitch TOTALLY deserves one! Hmm...but how can I insult her while also making it vague? ...I GOT IT!'
"What? I already wasted enough of my precious time talking nonsense with you, so unless it's something really impor-"
"Your dress is tacky and so is your face," spoke Ignis bluntly and quickly.
"..."
"..."
"...Tacky? What does that even-"
"Okaygottagobye!"
As fast as the wind, Ignis vanished in s heartbeat, leaving Drizella alone and confused. Dismissing the previous comment as nothing more than senseless nonsense spoken by a "mere commoner," Drizella headed towards her afternoon class on etiquette.
Much later...
"Lucy! Come back here! Lucifer!" called out a soaking wet Ignis; water drops trailing behind every step she took as she searched for Lucifer, the stepfamily's cat. One of her chores now was to properly give Lucifer a bath, but just like all other cats, Lucifer hated the water and wouldn't so much as budge even when Ignis made certain that the water wasn't too hot nor cold. In fact, he chose to be a jerk by "accidentally" splashing water towards Ignis repeatedly, leading to a very annoyed, stressed, and particularly pissed off Ignis.
Then, Ignis thought it would be an ingenious (somewhat vengeful) idea to cast a simple and harmless water spell onto him. Big mistake.
The first thing Lucifer did was jump very high in the air, letting out a high-pitched shriek before rushing out in the blink of an eye. It was already troublesome trying to get him into the bath, but it was going to be even more troublesome chasing him down AND THEN trying to put him back in the bath. How Cinderella dealt with this her whole life, Ignis once again, had no idea.
The one thing out of all of this is that Ignis could easily track down Lucifer through the wet paw prints trailing down in one direction. The one additional bad thing to all of this? Ignis knew that she would have to be the one to clean up the mess once she finished bathing Lucifer.
'That cat's now one of the reasons why I prefer dogs than cats,' thought Ignis, stomping around as she followed the wet paw trail. 'Seriously, though, who names their cat after a fallen angel? I swear, that cat reminds me a lot about a really, annoying masked douchebag...'
"YOU! Servant girl, come here!"
Hearing Lady Tremaine's familiar voice, Ignis sighed, slumping her shoulders as she looked up to see the high lady herself not too far away. The wet trail ended right behind Lady Tremaine's dress, where a quivering, yet mischievous Lucifer was hiding behind. The cat himself was cackling quietly, wanting to get a front row seat to the scolding that was about to occur.
"Yeah, Miss Trema-"
SMACK! Slamming the end of her ebony cane against the ground, Lady Tremaine coldly glared at Ignis. "How unrefined! How rude of you! Clearly, commoners such as yourself truly don't have the etiquette and mannerisms of us nobles!"
Of course, this isn't the first time Ignis has heard of this sort of talk from Lady Tremaine. In fact, every time they talked, which was normally a one-sided conversation since Lady Tremaine always barked orders for her, Lady Tremaine always addressed speaking politely and respectfully towards nobles.
Meanwhile, Ignis had daydreamed wanting to shove a pillow down the lady's throat. Or an apple. Or even Lady Tremaine's personal ebony cane. Anything to shut her mouth.
"Address me as LADY Tremaine, you commoner!" ordered Lady Tremaine firmly.
'if it'll get you to shut up and save me the torture of a lecture,' thought Ignis, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. "Yes...Lady Tremaine-"
"Too slow! And straighten your back! You crotch like a sickly old woman!"
'I wish I could say that you're an old hag,' Ignis thought, biting back the words she so urgently wished to retort. Instead, she followed Lady Tremaine's commands and straightened her back. "Yes, Lady Tremaine."
"Better! Far from perfect, but somewhat satisfactory for now."
'Nothing I do seems to please her, huh? Then again, Cinderella must have been in the same situation as I am, so I'm guessing that the old lady is just one of those types that's NEVER satisfied no matter what,' Ignis thought. 'Wasn't there a word for people like her? Uh...Karen? Yeah! I think that's it! The old lady is DEFINITELY a Karen!'
"Now, commoner!"
"My name is Ignis."
"Silence! It's irrelevant and worthless to remember your name! Besides, it's quite rude and disrespectful to interrupt one who is talking! Especially one of noble class such as I!" scolded Lady Tremaine. "Now, as I was saying, have you been shirking your work?"
"I...I'm sorry, what?"
"Have you been IGNORING your work?! Look at what you've done to my dear Lucifer!" Lady Tremaine addressed to the still-drenched cat, who was still watching the scenery with amusement dancing in his eyes while still playing the pitiful, "scared" cat.
"I was giving him a bath! Just like you ordered me to!" Ignis reminded.
"Have you now? It just seems to me as though you dumped him in the water and simply thought that was enough for a bath!"
"T-That's..." 'I mean, to be perfectly honest, she's not too far off the mark, but I really was planning on giving the stupid cat a bath! If only he hadn't run away!' Ignis protested silently. "I really was trying to give him a bath! Honest! He's the one who ran off!"
"Cinderella never has had any problems bathing him so it should only be natural that a commoner like you shouldn't have any problems, either!" Lady Tremaine replied. "If Cinderella was here, she would have done a far better job than you! If only that stupid girl wasn't sick!"
Ignis frowned. "Hey, it kinda sounds like you're blaming her for something that's not even her fault! What gives?!"
"It IS that foolish child's fault for being sick! If not for her, then this house would have been clean spotless long ago! Instead, we have you and your disastrous work!"
"Hey, at least I'm trying my best! Besides, you were probably planning on making Cinderella clean the house even if she was sick, weren't you?!" accused Ignis.
Lady Tremaine didn't appear to show any hints of concern towards her own stepdaughter as she addressed the issue. "Naturally! This isn't the first time she's had to work while sick, so this time shouldn't be any different as well!"
"Oh, wow, you really are a horrible lady!" Ignis couldn't help but exclaim, shocked by Lady Tremaine's bluntness and non-concern towards Cinderella.
"Excuse me?! Is that any way to address me?!"
"Considering how much of a horrible person you are, yeah. I think you definitely deserve to be called a horrible person!" Ignis pointed out. "I mean, what kind of mother forces her daughter to do all the chores, everyday, with no rest to herself? Plus, if you're going to have her do the chores, why can't you have the entire family help out?"
"As if I'll allow my own daughters to do commoner chores! Such things are meant for Cinderella!"
"Why just her? Why all this animosity towards her specifically? I mean, what did Cinderella even do to you, anyways?" wondered Ignis.
Lady Tremaine stiffened her jaw. "I don't believe someone like you even deserves an answer from me. What right do you have to demand answers from a noble lady such as myself, anyways?!"
"Well, what right do you have to treat only one of your daughters like some sort of slave?! Favoritism, much?" Ignis countered back. "She doesn't get rest, she always has to do chores everyday and meet your unreasonable demands, and worst, she doesn't even get the same treatment you give to your other daughters! I mean, for God's sake, would it hurt to give her even a thank you?!"
"Hmph! Why would a foolish girl like her receive anymore gratitude from me?" questioned Lady Tremaine proudly. "If anything, she should be grateful that I allow her to live in MY home! That I allow her to eat here! That I allow her to bear the presence of noblewomen such as my daughters and I! To defy me is-!"
"Grateful? Are you really trying to say that Cindy should be grateful for being abused all this time?!" growled Ignis, clenching her fists at her side. "There's NO way in hell that Cinderella would EVER be grateful for this horrible, hellish treatment that you've been giving her!"
"That's ENOUGH out of you!" barked Lady Tremaine, straightening herself as she angrily glared at Ignis. "Get back to work or I'll have you kicked out of my home!"
At this point, Ignis didn't even care about the consequences of her actions, even if it did actually led to her being kicked out. What she did still care about was Cinderella. It absolutely appalled Ignis that people like Lady Tremaine existed, treating people, especially their own children, as slaves! Such thoughts increased the burning desire to set Lady Tremaine on fire.
In fact, with all of the stress taking over Cinderella's duties, the harsh and unfairness of her and Cinderella's treatment, and her emotions going into turmoil, that played a part in her fire magic growing out of hand as well.
Due to her emotions and desire to burn Lady Tremaine, flickers of fire started to spring up around Ignis' body. The flames fueling her passion to protect Cinderella as well as the very same flames wishing to hurt the horrible mother before her grew the more she looked at her. Admittedly, Ignis was slightly satisfied to see some hint of realized fear growing in Lady Tremaine's eyes as her anger grew. Either way, Ignis REALLY wanted to burn Lady Tremaine, if only to make her understand even a little bit of the pain that Cinderella had daily been suffering and enduring this whole time.
But, at the last moment, Ignis stopped and tried to calm herself. She attempted this by taking a few deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling air while relaxing her shoulders. It was a simple but very useful breathing technique that Master Eraqus taught her in cases where her temper tried to take control. It failed more times than it succeeded because Ignis tended to give into her anger a lot and she did constantly forget the simple breathing technique.
Fortunately, this time, Ignis remembered the technique, and after several seconds later, she calmed herself. No, it wouldn't do any good. It wouldn't do anyone any good if Ignis took justice in her hands and burned Lady Tremaine. As much as she hated to admit it, Lady Tremaine and the rest of her family were technically innocent. Are they horrible people for abusing Cinderella? Yes, Ignis agreed fully with all of her heart. But, at the same time, they weren't considered threatening enough to be killed or even injured a little.
Master Eraqus always taught her and her fellow Keyblade wielding friends that Keyblade wielders must use their powers to aid others against the forces of darkness. While there is no doubt that there is darkness within Cinderella's stepfamily, it wasn't such a high-leveled threatening kind of darkness. If Ignis took matters to her own hands, especially since she was acting based on her own emotions, then...
She'd be no different than the evil forces of darkness.
For Ignis, it was one thing to secretly practice using darkness magic behind Master Eraqus' back. It was another to suddenly take justice into her own hands. She was taught that Keyblade wielders held no right to judge right from wrong, only that they use their powers to protect. Not to harm or threaten anyone. And yet...just a moment ago, she had no issue with that.
Was this...some sort of unexpected obstacle meant for her? To test her will to see whether or not she would actually carry out the deed? To see if she would give into her emotions? Whether or not she would harm a horrible, but still innocent person?
Whatever the case was, it seemed that her deep thinking not only knocked some sense back to the young red-haired girl, but also calmed her down. Enough to will away the flames from earlier, at least.
Lady Tremaine, who remained silent out of fear, managed to calm herself down before glaring at Ignis, attempting to hide her fears over some commoner. "You...! Get out of my home, NOW! Or else I'll call the royal guards!"
Despite Lady Tremaine being incredibly scared of her being her fault, Ignis refused to acknowledge that still. After all, while she did manage to calm herself, she still couldn't forgive Lady Tremaine for all the things she's done to Cinderella.
"...Fine. I was done, anyways. I don't want to be in the presence of a such a horrible lady anyways," said Ignis, turning around and leaving, determined to have the last word,
As Ignis' figure started shrinking and fading away the further she walked from Lady Tremaine, the noblewoman herself stood there in almost shakily fear. That fear quickly turned into anger and hatred as Lady Tremaine gritted her teeth and trembled in rage.
'How...how dare she?!' Lady Tremaine thought, humiliated. 'That...That commoner-! How dare she talk back to me like that?! I...I couldn't talk back because...was I scared?! NO! I couldn't be scared of such a...a commoner! That wretched little-! It's all because of Cinderella! If that useless child wasn't sick, then this wouldn't have-!'
As Lady Tremaine was harbored in her deep relenting thoughts of resentment and hatred, the darkness within her began to spike slowly, but in a deadly pace that would result...badly if things weren't resolved soon. Especially since Lady Tremaine's main target was towards her own stepdaughter.
Cinderella, who was a Princess of Heart.
"GOD-! FRICKIN'-! DAMNIT-! I! HATE! THAT! LADY! URGH!"
Just because Ignis calmed down earlier during her confrontation with Lady Tremaine didn't mean that she still wasn't angry with her. In fact, Ignis had escaped outside, wanting to take her frustration out on a couple of trees by repeatedly smacking and slashing at them with her Keyblade. As such, there were a number of slash marks all over the random trees she chose as her targets.
While releasing her anger out on the trees certainly helped, the more she did so, the more she calmed down and thought more rationally. Then, she grew upset and angry once again because she also came to the realization that she could no longer provide anymore aid to Cinderella. That was because Lady Tremaine kicked her out of her home, which meant that unless she was willing to risk bringing more trouble like the world's guardsmen, Ignis couldn't return inside Cinderella's home to care for the poor girl.
And it was all because Ignis couldn't help but stand up to the unfairness towards Cinderella.
'B-But that wasn't my fault!' thought Ignis, lowering her Keyblade as she had depleted her stamina and collapsed to the ground on her behind. 'I was just defending Cinderella! I didn't hurt her! Her family did! Her cruel, cruel family! Oh, how I wish I could just burn them down and-!'
"...Excuse me?"
Glancing behind her shoulder, Ignis' tired mood only soured when she saw that it was Anastasia, the younger step-sibling of Cinderella's. She was just involved in all of the abuse and bullying that Cinderella suffered, so naturally, she was just as equally guilty.
"Go away," Ignis told harshly. "I'm too tired, I'm not in the mood, and apparently, your mother fired me from housework. You can't really order me to do anything anymore!"
"I saw..." spoke Anastasia before speaking more clearly and loudly. "I saw! Mother didn't notice me, but I heard you two! How...How could you?! Talking to Mother like that?!"
"Well, she's not even my own mother, so thank God for that!" spat Ignis, standing up and turning to face her. "And secondly, why shouldn't I? Somebody needed to stand up to people like her! People like you, for example!"
"I-I beg your pardon?!"
"Yeah, that's right! I've only been here for like, a day or two, maybe! I can't tell, but from what I learned, Cinderella's been through a whole lot of suffering than you and your family ever would!" growled Ignis. "She's done all the chores, she never complains, and she still does everything you have to do! And yet, I've never seen any hint of love towards her! Hell, not even a thank you! I mean, would it kill you to at least thank her for all of her hard efforts! If it weren't for her, I'd doubt that you'd be living here anyways!"
Unlike Lady Tremaine, even Anastasia seemed hesitant and at least guilty. "I..." Deep down, even she knew that this treatment towards Cinderella was unfair, but her Mother's teachings and upbringings was clouding her judgement, even now.
"Jeez, I get that she's supposedly more prettier and gentle than any of you, but that shouldn't even be a reason why she deserves to be treated like this!" Ignis continued, ranting on. "And now, because of you guys, she's sick and can't move! And even now, you STILL demand that she works for you, even though she's sick? How screwed up can you be?!"
"...There's a doctor in the village."
Ignis stopped her rant, blinking confusingly at Anastasia. "...What?"
"I said, there's a doctor in the village. On the way to the King's Castle, there's a village right between here and there. You should be able to find a doctor, and he should be able to sell you some medicine," spoke Anastasia, turning away. "The path to the village isn't fair from here. That's all I can say."
Having spoken her piece, Anastasia walked away, heading back inside her home and leaving a stunned Ignis behind. While Ignis was confused as to why Anastasia would give away such valuable information, it was still information she could use to help Cinderella. And she knew she had to hurry if she wanted to help her, which is why Ignis left as soon as possible.
Though, if she had stayed a bit longer, she would have sensed the ever-growing darkness rising within Cinderella's home.
Hi, guys! Sorry for the long wait! I think it's been about 2 months since I last updated this? Maybe? I lost track of time because I've been so busy with my life, sorry!
Yeah, so originally, this arc was meant for two parts, but I decided to extend it to three parts. Next chapter will be the third and final part of the Cinderella arc, so sorry if I caused any misunderstandings!
In case any of you start complaining about Ignis' behavior and how her confrontation might make the situation worst for Cinderella, you have to remember something. Ignis is still a Keyblade apprentice and is still new at exploring other worlds, so she naturally has a lack of experience. She still has a sense of justice and is the type of girl willing to stand up for her friends, which is what she did for Cinderella.
Of course, abuse cases are actually complex. Most of the time, they can't normally be solved by talking down the abusive parent. But, Ignis doesn't know that. But, at the very least, she did try to stop the harsh treatments and tried her best to help Cinderella as best as she could. I'm not saying anyone didn't help her in the original Cinderella film, because the Fairy Godmother and the animal friends did their best to help too, but it would have been nice if Cinderella had at least one human friend. Just like that one movie, Ella Enchanted.
So, with that said, read and review!
