Josuke walked alongside Okuyasu and Koichi, all three of them holding empty large drink jugs. They had just finished the most intense contest he had ever experienced, whoever drank their jug of water fastest would win. Obviously, he won. He looked over at the other two and grinned, Okuyasu stuck his tongue out at him and Koichi just held his stomach and cringed.
"Koichi? Are you ok?" A voice interrupted their childish staredown. Josuke looked up, it was Yukako. He still had no idea how Koichi could withstand her constant attention, but to each's own he supposed.
Koichi quickly pulled himself up and gave a thumbs up. "I'm fine!" He said, clearly lying. "It's just a little stomach ache!"
Yukako narrowed her eyes. "A stomach ache, you say?" She began digging through her school bag, causing Koichi to panic even more.
"I don't need any medicine, thank you!" He quickly said, waving his hands. "Please don't give me any medicine!" Josuke and Okuyasu laughed at this but stopped and cringed as laughing had made all the liquid in their guts slosh and hurt. Koichi changed the subject, "Uh, Josuke! Didn't you have something important to tell everyone?" He said, "Why don't you just tell us all now since we're all together?"
"Oh, yeah, we've been spending a few weeks trying to confirm this, but," Josuke said, pulling himself together and putting on a serious face. "There's a dangerous stand user vampire around. Basically, we're pretty sure he's kidnapped Joseph and is making him help kill people."
Everyone in the group went silent.
"...Vampire?" Koichi questioned, tilting his head slightly in confusion. "Like, is that his stand power or…"
"No, his stand might be something else entirely," Josuke replied, causing the group to look even more confused. "Jotaro said he fought a vampire a long while back in Egypt. How he explained it to me is…" Josuke tapped his finger to his chin and looked off into the distance as he thought. "...Basically, there's these masks made of stone or something that turns people into vampires if they come in contact with blood while being worn."
Koichi blinked. "That sounds a little like a plot in Pink Dark Boy a long while back," He said with a little laugh, "But he's got Mr. Joestar? Do you know what this guy looks like?"
Okuyasu nodded but then paused, "We're pretty sure? It's uh, complicated," He uncertainly said, "So, this guy's taken an appearance similar to what Mr. Joestar apparently looked like when he was younger, I guess."
"Yeah, it's super weird," Josuke added, putting his hands behind his head. "He's got brown hair, a red coat, and some white umbrella that looks like it was coated in blood-"
The three boys froze as all of their stomachs grumbled in unison.
"Bathroom!" They all shouted, sprinting down the hall towards the restrooms.
Yukako followed, having finally found the bottle of medicine she was looking for. "Wait up, Koichi!" She shouted, her hair trailing behind her as she ran, "You have to take this once you're done! And wash your hands after you go!" She stopped at the men's room as the door slammed in front of her. She stood beside the door and waited so she could make sure Koichi took his medicine.
Koichi sprinted into the restroom behind the other two and froze as he saw all of the urinals were out of order. Josuke and Okuyasu sprinted into two of the stalls. He nodded and bolted into the first stall he could see was open. He went about his business and went to flush when the door slammed open behind him. "Ah, occupied!" He said, turning to face whoever it was trying to enter. Instead, he saw himself. "Wait, what-" He was then hit over the head and knocked out.
Surface, as Koichi, nodded and set him on top of the toilet. He looked over at the other two stalls, and luckily Josuke and Okuyasu were too occupied to notice. He quickly washed his hands in the sink before exiting the bathroom.
"There you are! You took forever!" Yukako said, frustrated, "Now, take your medicine!" She held a spoon full of pink medicine to his face. "This will help your stomach!"
Surface froze and then sprinted down the hall, "If you want me to take it, come and catch me!" He shouted, turning to look at her as he ran.
For a moment she was frozen in shock but smiled as she began to run after him. "So romantic, a game of chase!" She thought, her face turning slightly pink, "It reminds me of our first date!" She ran down the hall, occasionally using her hair to boost herself to gain speed. Somehow, Koichi was managing to keep super far ahead of her! Her smile widened, she was so proud of him, he must be working out or something!
She turned and slightly paused as she watched him run out of the school's front doors and down the sidewalk. "Koichi, wait!" She shouted after him, "We aren't supposed to leave school, it isn't even lunch yet!" He seemed to ignore her, and she began sprinting after him again. They ran further and further from the school, and she couldn't seem to catch up to him or get his attention. She looked at her surroundings as she ran, they were on the highway now! This was entirely dangerous, what if he were to be hit by a car! Her heart caught in her chest as she imagined the scene. Koichi, being slammed into full force by a large truck, dying instantly. She picked up her pace even more, almost closing the distance between the two as they entered a tunnel.
She turned right and just about could reach him with her hand-
Yukako came to a stop immediately. She had turned, right? In a straight tunnel? She finally took in her surroundings, and her heart sank. She was in some room, and in front of her beside Koichi was Yuya Fungami and Toshikazu Hazamada- both of whom hadn't been seen in school for weeks- and…
...A man with brown hair, a red coat, and a bloodstained umbrella to his side.
Her heart fell even further as she noticed the screw in "Koichi"'s forehead.
That wasn't her Koichi.
It was a trap.
She immediately turned to exit through the way she entered… Which was blocked by Yuya's stand, who just stood there staring at her. She turned back to look at the four men holding her hostage.
"Don't be afraid, Yukako," Hazmada said, giving her a smile with way too many teeth, "We just want to talk!"
Yukako saw as the man with the umbrella glared at Hazamada, who immediately shrank back and silenced himself.
"Yes, what he said is true," DIO said, smiling at her, "I have an offer for you."
Yukako stared him in the eyes. Her heart was beating at a thousand miles a minute. "What do you want?" She growled, her hair raising slightly like that of a scared dog.
"I would like you to be my newest ally," DIO stated, tilting his head toward the other men. "In return…"
Yukako looked at him in disgust, cutting him off. "I have everything I could ever want," She stated confidently, folding her arms. "It doesn't seem like your "allies" there have much going on in their heads. What did you do to them?"
DIO smirked. "You're very perceptive." He took a step forward, pausing when the girl's hair shot up further. "Your stand is your hair, it seems?" Yukako only glared at him in response. "Let's rephrase that offer. You will join me or you will die..." DIO walked over to Surface, who was still in the form of Koichi, "...And so will your dearest Koichi." He stated, grabbing the doll's face and turning it to the side slightly.
Yukako's eyes widened at this and her blood boiled in her veins. "How dare you threaten him!" She shouted, her hair shooting out at him.
DIO frowned as he dodged the hair strands, threatening the boy may have been a bit of a mistake on his part. He shook his head. It seemed this one was a lost cause.
"Yuya-" He stated, turning to look at his thralls. They both had been entirely entangled by the hair that shot out.
He growled. He'd have to handle this one himself. No matter, he had wanted a chance to test his abilities again now that he had some practice with this body.
He watched as the high schooler shot her hair out again, standing completely still as it approached him. He grinned as it came within inches of his face. "The World! Time, stop!" He shouted, and the ripple of time stopping passed over them. He stepped out of the hair's reach and began walking toward her. The last time he checked, he would have about 9 seconds.
1 second passed, he stepped toward her side and raised his hand to hit her.
2 seconds passed.
DIO froze as time began to flow again. Yukako's hair slammed into the bookcase behind him. He swore silently and quickly jumped back as it turned toward him. He was at a disadvantage in such a closed environment.
He jumped over her and out of the room. He scowled, this was the second time his lack of practice had forced him to retreat. The hair continued following behind him, occasionally slamming into the sides of the tunnel. He thought back to the last time he had fled down the tunnel, the last time what had saved him was remembering what the Joestar group had done to save themselves. He searched his memories of their trip, but to no avail, nothing they had done against similar enemies would help him here!
He bounced off the side of the tunnel after having looped back down the side of the tunnel toward the room again, nearly getting caught by one of her hair strands. This near-miss pissed him off even further.
He could feel Joseph's blood practically vaporizing in his veins in the sheer anger he felt over this. He was making the same mistake over and over and somehow he wasn't learning! He was DIO! He shouldn't be making mistakes! He felt the pressure of a headache building behind his eyes and memory finally flashed in his mind. Not one of the Crusaders, but one of his earliest fights with Jonathan after rejecting his humanity.
He finally reached the door and the pressure in his eyes burst forth toward the girl, beams of pressurized liquid practically acting as lasers entirely cut through her hair and slicing her head clean off.
All the hair fell, releasing his thralls, and all fell silent.
DIO looked at the girl, whose neck had sprayed blood all over the room, and he began to laugh. The others in the room just stared as he stepped over the decapitated body and lifted its head, which had rolled a little once it had fallen. She was still conscious, mouth contorting in attempts to breathe. He thought for a moment, maybe he should turn her into a vampire and use her as a weapon-
...No, her head would make an excellent warning to the Joestars.
He smiled as the light died from her eyes, and handed the head to a horrified Yuya.
"I want you to place this outside of an area the Joestars will find it. Dispose of the rest however you like once I am done with it." He turned to go feed off the blood in the body.
Yuya stuttered as the head dripped blood onto his hands. "Yes, my lord!"
