Jaune and Courage the Cowardly Dog
Chap 31: The King of Flan
It has been a week since everything changed for the better thanks to the Magic Tree of Nowhere. He is now currently in Iris's domain safe and sound. Though, aside from our wishes, he did leave a gift for Eustace. As in he gave Eustace the same sickness Muriel had. We did have the medicine to treat him to treat him, we did let him suffer a bit for all trouble he caused everyone. And to no one's surprise, Summer Rose, mother of Ruby Rose and Step mom of Yang Xiao Long, now also hates Eustace.
That also made me wonder how Penny is doing right now. The tree granted my wish and turned Penny human. Something I knew she deserved and wanted to be as for a while. I just hope right now that she is fine right now and enjoying life as a human. Currently, me and Courage were in the Nowhere market getting a few supplies.
"Is that everything Courage?" I asked as he handed me some flan. Something I could never get behind in taste. Maybe it's the sweetness or how much sugar is in it. Or even perhaps the caramel which I was never a big fan of.
'That's it.' Courage answered with a nod.
"All right then. Let's head home." I told him. He nodded in agreement. We turned around and were about to head to the cashier to pay but stopped when something or someone called out my name.
"Jau-" The voice which I could instantly tell was a baby's voice called out.
"Did you hear that Courage?" I asked turning to him.
'Yeah, I did. But where-Hey!' He answered but shouted when he felt something grab his tail.
"What happened?" I asked him worried. Instead of answering, he turned around and we saw a tiny baby behind him looking up at us with big curious eyes.
"Adrian?" I asked surprised that he was here.
'You know him Jaune?' Courage asked as he got on all fours and started sniffing Adrian.
"Yeah, he is my nephew." I answered as Courage continued to sniff him but jumped in terror when Adrian grabbed Courage's nose a little too hard.
'AAHHH!' Courage screamed as he ran behind me while holding his now red nose.
"Jau-" Adrian said again reaching out to me.
"Hey little buddy. How you doing? Where's your mom?" I asked as I picked him and gave him a little shake which made him laugh.
"Jaune?" Another voice asked behind me before tackling me to the ground which made me let go off Adrian. Luckily, Courage grabbed him before he could hit the floor.
"Saphron?" I asked as the person that tackled me picked me up and turned me around so that I could see that it was indeed my older sister Saphron.
"Hey little bro." She said pulling me into a hug. "Good to see you."
"Good to see you to Saph." I said as I stepped back before asking. "But I gotta ask, what are you doing here in the town of Nowhere?"
"We live here now. Terra got an even better paying job for a quarter of the hours she used to work." Saphron explained as she took Adrian from Courage.
"Doggy." Adrian said reaching out to Courage.
"I see Adrian here learned how to speak a bit. Anyway, that's good. Where's Terra and what job does she have?" I asked chuckling at how Adrian seems to reaching out to Courage with pure childlike glee.
"I'm here. Actually." The voice of Terra said behind me. Turning around, we saw her walking up to us with a big smile while also carrying some supplies for Adrian. "Good to see you Jaune."
"Good to see you as well Terra." I said as we gave each other a small hug once she reached us.
"So Jaune, how have you been since the 'old family' disowned you? I hope you have been doing all right?" Saphron asked bitterly when she brought up the Arc Family. She always hated how they treated everyone and was glad when the moment she could leave the family finally came.
"Great. Actually. Many great things have happened since then. Not only did I move from Vale to here, but I also got adopted by a new family." I answered with a smile. This caused both Terra and Saphron to smile.
"That's great. I'm so glad you found a new place to call home. And now you have your big sister with you nearby." Saphron said pulling me into another hug.
"And I see you got a dog as well. What's his name?" Terra asked looking over at Courage who smiling and making funny faces to the giggling Adrian.
"He's the family dog actually. His name is Courage." I answered.
'Hello.' Courage greeted while waving his hand. But both Terra and Saphron froze when he said that.
"Did Courage just speak?" Terr asked with a wide-eyed look.
"You heard him too?" Saphron asked as well. All the while Adrian was giggling some more.
"Neat. So, you both can understand him as well." I said moving to Courage and giving him a pat on the head.
"Wait, you can understand what he says?" Terra asked worried.
"Yeah. I'm not sure how though. But don't worry, neither of you are going insane. Some of my friends understand him as well. Including one of the teachers from Beacon understands him as well." I assured them.
"Well, that's comforting." Terra said still shocked that she can apparently understand Courage.
'Jaune, we best get going. It's starting to get late and Muriel must be worried.' Courage said reminding me.
"Right. Well, it's been nice seeing you both again. But we have to get going." I told them as I picked up the supplies again.
"Oh, can we come? I want to meet the family that adopted my baby brother." Saphron asked.
"Saphron. Don't just ask it like that. Either way, I doubt that they would appreciate us just barging in. Even if Jaune said it was okay." Terra told her.
"It's fine. Muriel always loves having guests over. Just watch out for Eustace. He's not nice at all." I told them while making a hand gesture to let them know how Eustace really is without saying it in front of Adrian. Luckily, they understood what I was telling them.
"Yay." Saphron shouted in joy.
"All right. It would be nice to meet the family that adopted you as well as catch up on some things with you as well. Not to mention, Adrian did miss you." Terra relented after a moment. Especially seeing Adrian continue to laugh at Courage.
"Let's just pay for the supplies and we can go." I told them motioning to the groceries.
"Sure. Let's go." Terra said grabbing the supplies she got as well.
One hour later
"So, all those adventures actually happened to you?" Saphron asked as I parked Eustace's truck behind the house. During the ride home, we began catching up with each other. I even told them some of the less ridiculous and less dangerous adventures I went on with Courage and friends. Though, I did keep some hidden like the magic tree.
"They actually did." I answered as we got out of the truck and brought down the groceries. Saphron easily believed me while Terra did not.
"No offense Jaune. But I find them hard to believe." Terra said as she took Adiran while Saphron grabbed the supplies.
"Hard to believe as they may be. They really did happen." I told her was we made our way to the door.
"Sure, they did." Terra said smiling as while she may not believe me, she did enjoy hearing the stories. Opening the door, we stepped inside and saw Muriel watching a move with tears coming out of her eyes. Meanwhile, Eustace was reading his paper.
"Isn't love... lovely?" Muriel asked not noticing us yet.
"Is it over yet?" Eustace bitterly asked as he lowered his paper to reveal that he had comically giant ear plugs in his ear to not hear the movie Muriel was watching. Soon though, the words 'The End' appeared which allowed made him take out the ear plugs. "Finally."
"Oh, Jaune. Your back. And you brought guests. I'm Muriel. And who might you all be?" Muriel asked walking towards us.
"I'm Saphron Cotta. Jaune's older sister." Saphron introduced herself with a smile.
"And I am Terra Cotta. Saphron's wife and Jaune's sister-in-law." Terra said shaking Muriel hand.
"Lovely. And who is this little precious one?" Muriel asked referring to Adrian.
"His name is Adrian Cotta. Our son and Jaune's nephew." Saphron answered.
"He's adorable." Muriel said giving a smile to Adrian.
"Bah. Be quiet." Eustace shouted angrily as he flipped through the channels.
"I do apologize for Eustace. Please come in." Muriel said moving to the side.
"I got the groceries Muriel." I told her motioning to the bags.
"Thank you Jaune. Just put them in the kichen and ill sort them out later." Muriel told me.
"Alright." I said as we made our way to the kitchen and put the stuff away.
Ten Minutes Later
We were now currently in my room. Saphron and Terra were sitting on my bed. I was sitting on the chair for the computer. Courage and Adrian were on the floor playing with each other. Well, more in Courage making Adrian laugh continuously. We were discussing everything that has happened since we last saw each other. And suffice to say, it was a lot. Though, I am glad now that Saphron, Terra and Adrian now live in Nowhere as well which meant we could see each other more often.
"Muriel seems nice." Terra said as she watched Adrian laugh.
"I'm glad you got adopted by her little bro." Saphron said as she watched Adrian play with Courage. "However, this Eustace seems like a nasty man."
"Yeah, he's not nice at all. I would not recommend leaving Adrian around him without one of us. Muriel on the other hand, she is the nicest person you can ever meet." I said chuckling at how Adiran is giggling at Courage.
"Which reminds me bro, when are you going to get a girlfriend so I can tease you relentlessly?" Saphron asked with a smirk at which l nearly chocked in surprise.
"Hey, don't leave me out in teasing him as well." Terra added with a smile.
"I actually have a girlfriend already." I told them with a blush. This caught them off guard but they quickly recovered. Saphron especially as she stood up quickly.
"Yay, my baby brother is finally growing up. Where is she? Can we meet her?" Saphron asked cheering.
"She's busy right now. But you'll meet her eventually." I told them.
"Aw." Saphron said sadly that she could not tease me just yet.
"Don't worry honey. We'll meet her eventually where we can tease them as much as we can till, they are red in the face." Terra assured Saphron as she sat back down. But at that moment, we heard a loud crash come from downstairs.
'What was that?' Courage as he stopped playing with Adrian and started looking around.
"It sounded like it came from the kitchen downstairs." Terra said looking towards the door.
"Let's check it out Courage." I told him as I got up from the chair.
'Right.' Courage as he stood up.
"Want us to come?" Terra asked.
"Alright. Just be careful." I told them.
They nodded with Saphron picking up Adrian from the floor. We exited the room and headed downstairs and were confused to see neither Eustace or Muriel in the living but the television was left on. Yet it being only static worried me as it reminded me of what Le Quack did a while ago. So, I turned it off and unplugged it to be safe. Hearing another crash come from the kitchen we headed over there. Opening the door, we saw that table chairs were knocked over. But aside from that, everything was alright from we could see so far. Muriel was even raiding the fridge. Most likely looking for a snack.
"Everything all right Muriel?" Terra asked. But we all stepped back in confusion and worry when Muriel turned to us and looked crazed.
"Ha, ha, ha. Got any flan?" She asked leaning in close to us. Her mouth was covered in flan while her hair seemed to have come undone and messy as if she got electrocuted.
"Um, what?" Saphron asked confused. Hearing some rummaging coming from the other end of the room, we looked passed Muriel and saw that the kitchen was actually a mess with pans and plates all over the floor. One of the chairs that we could fully see now was actually broken.
"There's some more flan around here somewhere. I know it." Eustace declared. Looking at him, we saw that he was on all fours and sniffing around the place. He then started walking closer to Courage before grabbing him by the neck. "Where's your flan?"
'I don't know.' Courage answered confused.
"Stupid dog," Eustace shouted before tossing Courage away.
'AAHHHH! OOF!' Courage screamed before grunting when I moved to catch him in the air so he didn't hit the wall.
"You okay Courage?" I asked as I placed him down.
'Yeah, fine. Nice catch though.' He answered.
"Thanks.' I said turning back to Muriel.
"That wasn't nice." Saphron said glaring at Eustace who just ignored her.
"You got flan? Don't be holding out on me!" Muriel suddenly shouted as she grabbed both me and Courage rather roughly.
"Hey! Let them go!" Terra shouted as she came in between us and Muriel.
"They're dry. Time for a flan run." Muriel told Eustace who now that we actually pay attention to, saw that he looks crazed as well. And like Muriel, he had flan all over his mouth.
"I'll get the truck." Eustace said as they both left the kitchen.
"That was certainly strange and came out of nowhere." Saphron said looking at the door before looking at the mess that was the kitchen.
"It certainly was. Even though we just met Muriel, I can tell that's not normal behavior for her. Though Eustace doesn't seem too off. Right Jaune?" Terra asked.
"No. Your right. Something is terribly wrong with Muriel. Eustace is about the same. Except for the fact that he ate flan like that." I answered.
"What do you mean?" Saphron asked.
'Eustace only barely liked flan before. And now he seems obsessed for it. Muriel seems the same.' Courage explained.
"And now it seems like they are going to go on a flan heist by the sounds of it. Never thought I would ever say that." I added. At that moment we heard Eustace's truck turn on.
"We should follow to make sure they are okay. They don't seem to be in their right mind and could get hurt or hurt someone else." Saphron said. But the sound of a sleepy Adrian yawning reminded us that it was already pretty late.
"Actually, I think it will be you three who do that. I need to put Adrian down for the night. Jaune, can we use your room for the night?" Terra asked as she started to lightly hop to put Adrian to sleep quicker. With a second later his cute snores being heard.
"Sure. The bathroom is two doors down from my room." I told her.
"Thank you. We'll see you when you three get back." Terra said before leaving the kitchen and heading to my room.
"Okay, little bro. Ready to go on an adventure with your big sister and dog Courage?" Saphron asked with a smirk.
I just rolled my eyes along with Courage. We exited the kitchen and quickly ran outside the house. Once outside, we looked around and saw that Muriel and Eustace were in the truck about to leave. Seeing that, we quickly raced over to the truck and got into back. As soon as we were in, Eustace and Muriel drove into town. The trip took its normal twenty minutes as despite seeming crazed and almost lusting for Flan, they still did not speed.
"That's a creepy face." Saphron said getting our attention. Looking to where she was pointing, we saw that she was pointing to the creepy smiling face on the billboard that we just passed.
"That face seems familiar." I said as I knew I saw that face before.
"Flan." We heard Muriel say happily. Almost like she dreamed of flan constantly.
"Flan." Eustace also said but almost in like a trance like state.
"STEP ON IT!" Muriel demanded and soon our speed doubled.
'Wait I remember where we saw that face before.' Courage said turning to us while gripping tighter to the truck.
"Where?" Saphron asked.
'There is only one flan brand that is sold here. And that guy owns the brand and puts his face on each one.' Courage answered.
"I'm not sure if that is more creepy or egotistical." Saphron said at this.
"Hey, we're here." I told them just as the truck came to a sudden halt that nearly threw us out of the truck.
"Gotta get flan." Eustace said as he exited the truck.
"Plenty of flan." Muriel added as she also got out of the truck and entered the market which just so happened to be 'Dil's general store.'
"Alright. Let's go after them." Saphron said as we got off the truck.
'AAAHHHH!' Courage suddenly screamed getting our attention.
"What is it Courage?" I asked worried.
"Wow." Saphron said shocked as she placed her hand on my head and turned me around. And what we saw worried us greatly. There seemed to be a riot going on but not for anything that people could steal. No, everyone was trying to find and get flan as well. There was even a blimp that passed by overhead that had a screen showing the same guy's face from the flan.
"Everyone has gone crazy!" I nearly shouted at what we ae seeing.
'Let's check inside.' Courage said as he moved to the market. Nodding, we followed him and opened the door to get even more worried.
"FLAM! FLAN! FLAN!" Nearly everyone in the market chanted at once. Looking around, we saw that everyone was looting and trying to get as much flan as possible for themselves. Even if that meant stealing from others. One lady was even trying to steal from a baby that kept saying flan.
"This is madness." Saphron said at what she is seeing.
"Quick, we have to first find Muriel and Eustace then get out of here." I reminded them.
'Over there.' Courage said pointing to one of the aisles near the back. Looking to where he was pointing, we saw Muriel and Eustace had just eaten an entire aisle's worth of flan.
"Good job Courage." I said as we raced over to them.
"GAH! Flan!" Eustace demanded even though he just ate a lot.
"I think you all had enough." I said as we reached them. Courage went to Muriel's side to try and get her up but she quickly pulled her arm back.
"FLAN." She said dreamily.
"Hey look. Dr. Vindaloo." I said when I spotted the doctor.
"You think a doctor could help in this Jaune?" Saphron asked.
"It's worth a shot." I told her. She nodded while me and Courage ran to Dr. Vindaloo. But as soon as we reached him, he grabbed both of us and lifted us off the floor.
"YOU GOT THE LINE ON SOME FLAN DOG AND KID? ANY FLAN AT ALL?" Dr. Vindaloo demanded.
"Nope, sorry." I answered with Courage shaking his head.
"Hmph." Dr. Vindaloo said as he threw us both into the air before landing on the floor hard.
"Oof." Courage and I grunted as we hit the floor. But before we could get up, a mob ran over us. None of them knowing that they did that.
'Ha, ha, ha.' Courage laughed maniacally as he peeled himself off the floor.
"Ow." I grunted as I laid there and waited until my aura healed me completely.
"Jaune! Are you okay?" Saphron asked as she ran over to me and helped me up.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just going to be sore in the back in the morning. How about you Courage?" I answered before asking Courage who just laughed again. "Where's Muriel and Eustace?"
"They left outside. I tried to go after them but got cut off when the mob rushed past me. I was about to go after when I noticed that they had ran over you." She answered.
"Well, 'm okay right now. Let's go find Muriel and Eustace." I told her. She nodded and we exited the shop to see the mob surrounding a flan delivery truck.
"They certainly are obsessed with flan." Saphron said seeing the mob nearly tip over the truck.
"Wait. Muriel and Eustace are inside." I nearly shouted when I saw that in the van were Muriel and Eustace laughing while eating some flan. They then drove off towards the house with the mob following them for a bit but quickly gave up.
"Great. So, now how will we get back?" Saphron asked.
"Well. We still Eustace truck." I said pointing to it,
Half an Hour later
"Thank goodness you guys are back. What happened?" Terra asked when she saw us pull up to the house.
"A riot was in town. All for flan." I answered.
"I guess that's why your folks came back in a flan truck." Terra said pointing to the truck.
"Right, so what should we do now?" Saphron asked.
"For now, go to bed as it's extremely late and we are tired. Tomorrow we can think clearly about how to proceed." I answered.
"That makes sense. Though where should we sleep?" Terra asked.
"You both can sleep in my room. I can even bring an extra bed from downstairs if you want. Courage and I'll sleep on the couch to keep an eye Muriel and Eustace." I answered.
"Thanks, little bro." Saphron said with a smile as she took Terra by the hand before she could say anything and pulled her to my room.
'That was nice of you.' Courage said as we entered the house.
"Night Courage." I said as I laid down on the couch as he jumped up and got comfy on my lap.
'Night.' Courage said before drifting off to sleep.
Morning
*CRASH* "Flan." Muriel whined. This caused me and Courage to open our eyes. Only to be greeted by the darkness caused by being buried alive by tons of empty cases of flan.
"Gross." I said as I moved all the cases off us.
"Found some under my nails." Eustace said getting our attention. Turning to him, we saw that both Muril and Eustace had gotten extremely big from all the flan they ate. And apparently, they still wanted more as evidence by Muriel trying to lick the little bit that was under Eustace's nails.
"Flan." Muriel whined again when Eustace took his hand back from her.
"Jaune, Courage. Are you both awake?" Terra asked. A moment later, we saw Terra, Saphron and Andrian coming down the stairs trying to avoid the mess.
"What happened here Jaune? Hey, Adrian, no." Saphron asked before giving a light smack to Adrian's hand as he tried to eat some of the flan that was on the wall.
"Muriel and Eustace ate all the flan that was in that van." I answered as I wiped away some flan that fell down on my face from the ceiling.
"OH, MY!" Both Saphron and Terra gasped in shock at how big they got.
"Jaune. We have to do something. This is getting out of hand." Saphron told me.
"Yeah, but what? I'm not sure what to do." I told her as I was clueless.
'Hmm. 1 Flan drive.' Courage suddenly said.
"What was that Courage?" Terra asked.
'Perhaps what's causing all this is the guy who owns the flan. Maybe we should go pay him a visit.' He answered.
"That could be worth something. If nothing else, it at least's narrows down the possibilities." Terra said agreeing to this.
"All right then. Let's go." I told them. We rushed out of the house but instead of taking Eustace's truck, we hopped into the van that Muriel and Eustace stole.
"Um, are you sure we should let him drive Jaune?" Saphron asked motioning to the fact that Courage is in the driver's seat.
"Don't worry Courage knows how to drive. He is a dog of many talents." I assure them as I helped Terra secure Adrian.
"All right." Saphron said still unsure.
"Hit it Courage." I told him. He nodded and stepped on the gas. Only for us to crash into the house as the truck was in reverse.
"A dog of many talents you say." Saphron said through narrow eyes while Terra rubbed her head as she hit the back of her head while Adrian giggled.
"Hey, even professional make mistakes. Right Courage?" I asked turning to him.
'Ha, ha, ha, ha.' He laughed crazily before shifting into the correct gear and we were off to the flan headquarters.
Two Hours later
"Okay, we're finally here." I said as we reached the destination.
"Talk about loving yourself." Terra said as she saw that on top of the building was a tv with the guy's face displayed.
"Now we just need to get in." Saphron said.
"Looks like there is a line and guard to get in though." I said pointing to the live of other flan vehicles with a guard checking each one.
'Hold on.' Courage said as he drove up to get in line. Only to smash into the vehicle in front of us.
"Courage needs to go back to driving school Jaune." Saphron said as she rubbed her head from banging it against the dashboard.
'Ha, ha, ha.' Courage laughed nervously suddenly.
Looking to the side, we saw that the guard, who was a giraffe, looking inside the vehicle before letting us through into the building. Driving in, we soon reached the parking lot and parked next to a door that would take us out and into the main building. Getting out of the vehicle, we entered through the door and began walking through the hallways. All the while ignoring the creepy faces of the same guy that was on each door. We were about to split up to try and see if we can find him faster when a creepy voice came about.
'Buy Flan-Tasy Flan. Buy Flan-Tasy Flan.' The voice said.
"Quick, follow it." I quickly said. Following the voce, we passed by a few doors and eventually came to the room labeled the media room. Seeing the door was open, we peeked inside and saw the guy who was supposedly in charge sitting in a desk and repeating what we heard earlier into a microphone.
"Buy Flan-Tasy Flan. Buy Flan-Tasy Flan. Before midnight tonight." The guy kept repeating.
"Look." Terra whispered pointing to the other side of the room. Looking there, we saw a man sitting in a chair. But his posture clearly said he was either extremely attentive to something or in a daze. But it was when I saw the television that I knew what it was.
'SHIT.' I mentally thought as I quickly pulled Terra and Saphron out of the room.
"What's wrong Jaune?" Saphron asked worried at how abruptly I pulled them out of the room.
"I know what the guys is trying to do. He is trying to hypnotize people into buying flan." I answered.
"That seems farfetched Jaune." Terra said not believing me.
"Trust me. It happened to Muriel and Eustace before." I told them. They still did not seem to believe me but the guy in the room seemed to confirm what I said unknowingly.
"The flan-tasy hypnomercial is a success. We got all of Nowhere totally flan-tifized, and the new hypnomercial works even better Tonight we go live on all the networks, everywhere. And turn everyone into flan-atics. Then I will be the king of Flan." The guy declared.
"Well, I've been wrong before." Terra said surprised that what I said was true.
'So, what should we do?" Saphron asked.
"First we should-" I began but Courage caught me off.
'Flan.' He said while drooling. He then dove into the room.
"How did you get in here?" We heard the guy asked.
"Great, we lost Courage. Now-Wait. Where's Adrian?" I asked panicked as I saw that he was no longer in Terra's arms. We began to look around but grew worried when we heard the guy spoke up again.
"And a little kid as well. Where are you all coming from? No matter." The guy asked. Taking a peek inside, we saw Adrian looking around curiously. Looking over to the guy, we saw him toss a case of flan into the center of the room. The other guy from earlier seemed to drool over it.
'No. Will not.' Courage said getting our attention. Looking over to him, we saw that he was drooling and trying to resist the temptation of the flan. But failed and dove after it and tried to get as much as he can from the other guy who was trying to eat it was well.
"No use fighting it dog. We're about to live in a flan-tasy world." The guy declared before tossing another case of flan at Courage.
"So, what should we do?" Saphron asked worried for Adrian.
"I will go in and try and get the guy out of the room. You and Tree will try and find a way to undo what he did." I answered.
"All right. But be careful little bro." Saphron said worried.
"I will." I said before entering the room.
"And a young man as well. Where could all of you be coming from?" The guy asked before tossing me a case of flan. "Eat up."
"I never understood the appeal of these things. Do you Courage? All they do is make you big like Muriel and Eustace" I said picking up the case and examine it.
'Yeah.' Courage agreed.
"Interesting. Your wills seem to be much stronger than others. No matter, you both will-" The guy began but stopped when I tossed the flan back at his head. "You want to destroy flan?"
"Yeah." I answered.
"Then flan will destroy you." The guy said before jumping up and rolling himself into a ball and rolled towards us.
"I should have seen that coming." I told myself.
'Yeah, same.' Courage said agreeing with me.
We turned around and exited the room while closing the door. But the guy just rolled through it. Like he rolled over the poor other guy who got hypnotized. Runing down the hall, I looked back to make sure that he was still chasing us and did not see Saphron or Terra. Luckily, that seemed to be the case. As he kept chasing us which allowed Terra and Saphron into the media room. We kept on running as fast as we can to give the others as much time as we could give them. Soon though, we reached a dead end. Luckily, there was an elevator that we could use.
"OW!" We both grunted for as soon as we reached it, the doors closed which made us crash into it.
'Come on!' Courage said as he was already rapidly pressing the call elevator button. But seeing as how the sign showed the elevator just got to the top and the guy was closing on us, I knew it wouldn't arrive in time.
"No time. Help me." I told Courage as I tried to force the doors open.
After a few tries, we managed to open the doors. Seeing the cables inside the elevator shaft, I grabbed Courage and made sure he had a secure grip on me before jumping into the elevator shaft and began climbing the cables. Taking a look back down, we saw that the guy had rolled into the elevator without stopping. For a slight moment, we thought we lost him, only to get surprised when we heard him laughing. Looking back down, we saw that he had safely landed on the elevator that was coming up beneath us. He also had in his hands some more flan which he proceeded to throw at us.
'Oh, no.' Courage said as he resisted the urge to eat only to fail and eat the whole thing in one bite. Only to throw it back out a moment later.
'Gross.' I thought as I began to climb again when I saw that now vomit covered guy begin to climb the cables.
Soon, we reached the top of the elevator shaft. Stopping in front of the last doors, Courage used his tongue to pry them open enough for me to hop out of the elevator shaft. We quickly moved forward away from the elevators only to realize that we were trapped on the roof. Looking around, we saw that only place left to go was up the antenna which had a television repeating the mantra the guy used to hypnotize people.
"Come on." I told Courage as we began to climb up the tower. But as we climbed up the tower, we heard the elevator doors smash open. Looking back down, we saw the guy was now climbing the tower as well.
'This guy sure is persistent.' Courage said watching the guy continue to chase us. Very quickly, we reached the top and had nowhere else to go.
"Ha, ha, ha." The guy laughed below us. Looking down, we saw that he had another case of flan that he threw at us which Courage grabbed and ate.
'How many does he have?' I wondered as I saw him pull out another ten cases of flan and threw it us.
'OH!'Courage gasped in shock at this. Unfortunately, this caused all the flans to fly into his mouth. He tried to eat them but couldn't and threw them all up again onto the guy.
"OH! NO!" The guy gasped in horror when he realized that the vomit was making him lose his grip on the tower. He tried to keep his grip but eventually slipped and fell of the tower. Though, he managed to grip one of the cables that connected the television to the antenna. Unfortunately, because of the additional weight, the television soon stopped spinning and slowly started to come off its base and fall down the tower. And because of the guy's weight and how fast he was falling, he went through the roof and continued going down until he hit the bottom with the television following him as well.
"Think he's alright?" I asked Courage as I began to carefully climb down the tower while avoiding the spots that had his vomit.
'Most likely. Villains here are surprisingly durable. Just like Le Quack and the dynamite.' Courage answered.
I could not help but agree with that. Soon we were at the bottom again. Seeing as the elevator was now out of service, we took the steps all the way down. And after a full fifteen minutes of walking down the steps, we were finally back at the bottom. Tired, but there. Going back to the media room, we saw that the guy landed not too far from the elevator and was now hypnotized by his own program. Seeing a case of flan nearby, I picked it up and tossed to him. He happily grabbed it before opening it and eating the whole thing in one bite. Smiling, we soon reached the media room and saw Terra and Saphron sitting around the crushed table. Adrina was sitting on crushed table eating some flan.
"Hey guys." I called out getting their attention.
"Jaune! Are you both okay?" Saphron asked running to us.
"Yeah, we're fine." I answered.
"And what of the flan guy?" Terra asked.
'He's back out there in the floor. He is also not going to be a problem anymore as he is now hypnotized by his program.' Courage answered.
"That's good. We also found a way to reverse his hypnotizing." Saphron said as she moved over to a camera.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Something very simple." Terra answered.
Ten minutes later
Apparently, the guy used a simple command mind trick to hypnotize people. All that he did was repeat a phrase and showed his face and flan. So, to reverse it, we did a commercial of our own. It started by using a firing canon. Then having placed a paper with a crossed-out letter F on a yoyo and used it like how a magician would use a pocket watch to hypnotize people. After that, we destroyed a case of flan with the canon firing again in the background. And apparently, that was all that need to be done as we tested it on the other guy from earlier and he was now free. But that now left one last problem.
"So, how are we going to do this?" I quietly asked as to not wake a sleeping, Adrian. While we were testing the commercial, Courage had gotten into the supply closet and ate every single flan there. And now he was about three times the size Muriel and Eustace are. Not to mention he was also covered in some flan and vomit from earlier.
'Great. Definitely going to need a shower now.' I thought as I walked up to Courage, Ready to try and roll him home.

This chapter turned out to be a bit harder than expected. Might come back to it and rework it in the future. Hopefully next chapter will come out better.
