Chapter 08-The Trunk
IT wasn't long after lunch that Mrs. Weasley and Sirius showed up at the door with Ginny trailing behind them smirking. Both adults were surprised to see the room already cleaned up. It even made Ginny's smirk quiver because of how nice the room looked now. In the time of waiting Hermione had transfigured the bed and windows.
"Just leave me alone," Hermione said to the group at the door, "I don't need your help as you can see."
"Hermione," Sirius started.
"Don't bother Sirius," Hermione snapped, "She has played both of you and neither of you care for my side. I have not changed but I have refused to continue being looked down on or be intimidated by anyone. Now leave. I have this under control."
The trio left with little argument both adults stunned by being put in their place by the almost seventeen-year-old. They weren't back to the kitchen wondering how to handle this. Hermione on the other hand went to her door warded and silenced. It was time to research. Hermione quickly opened the trunk and descended into the study.
Now that she looked it was amazing. There was a study area with desk lighting and chair, a sitting area to read comfortable, and on the far-left wall there were a row of bookcases with only half of them filled. The walls were a rich chocolate color with candelabras every few feet that lite as soon as Hermione opened the trunk and the floor was a light bamboo wood. The desk was solid mahogany with another candelabra, a quill and a jar of ink set up on the top. There were 3 drawers, one on each side and then one in the middle. The was empty but the other two were filled. One had bundles of parchment for notes all blank just waiting for Hermione to use. The other one was filled with extra ink and quills. Hermione smiled knowing she would be using those regularly. The chair that went with the desk was an ivory color that matched the carpet in the sitting area. The sitting area had two forest green couches facing each other with the candles floating overhead. Hermione knew she found her sanctuary. It was perfect.
The then followed the first door by the bookcases leading into the lab. It was surprisingly just like the lad in Hogwarts. Cool aired with stone floors and walls lite with candles everywhere so you have no trouble seeing the progress you made though each step of the potion. There were 3 different cauldrons set up over fires already. The fires weren't lit but it would be easy enough to do so. There was an ingredients closet filled with almost everything Hermione would need. Finally, there was a sink for cleaning the place whenever she needed it.
Hermione vacated back into the study to go to the next door on the right. It led to the bathroom. It reminded Hermione of the Prefect bathroom but smaller. The pool wasn't so big there was a shower in a corner and there was no mermaid mural. The toilet was in the opposite corner and a sink with vanity was between the two corners. Everything was ivory marble except the vanity had mahogany drawers filled with every product known to women. The sink, bath, and shower had matching gold fixtures that looked like roses. The nobs were rose buds and the faucets were blossoming roses. The walls looked like a garden. It almost felt like you were in a private garden she could even smell the roses from the garden in the air.
There was a door that led to the dressing room to the left and right beside that was a door that led to the bedroom. Hermione decided to check out the bedroom first. The door looked straight into the room facing the bed. It was a deep blue. The walls were midnight blue and the carpet was a deep cream. The covers on the four-poster bed was covered in a silver duvet and matching blue sheets. It looks so comfortable that Hermione couldn't help but jump into it and realize it was prefect for her. The door to the right of the bed led back to the study, but the door to the left of the bed led to the dressing room.
Hermione could believe the trunk it was amazing. In the dressing room were robes of all type. Many of them were older trends but Hermione loved them, and they fit perfectly. The room was white where color of the robes popped everywhere there was a chase lounge against the table in the center that held hats and hair pieces. In the draws of the table there were jeweler of all types and under clothing. A row of shelfs to the left had shoes and a door leading to the bathroom. While the row of shelf on the right had bags, belts, and cloves with another door leading into the study.
"This place is amazing," Hermione said to herself. "I need to find Crookshanks and get him in here. I also need to unpack my stuff."
Hermione had decided during the tour that she would be living in this trunk instead of using the room they gave her. She then proceeded to unpack her Hogwarts trunk and organize everything. Her books and trinkets went in the bookcases in the study. Her homework and other schoolwork were placed in a filing cabinet that she conjured in the study. She loved organization and she was finally going to be able to organize her space the way she wanted it. Her clothing went into the dressing room and her bath products into the bathroom. She set up Crookshanks bed and cat tree in the bedroom. After that she went in search of her trusted animal companion. She found him sitting outside her room waiting.
"Hello, my baby," Hermione said picking him up and going back into the room, "I want to show you out new home."
When Hermione returned to the trunk the initials on top changed from DMM to HJMR. Hermione smiled. She opened it and took Crookshanks into his new home and domain. He loved it. She showed him around and then headed back out of the trunk to eat. Once she was outside the room, she headed down to the kitchens for dinner knowing it should be soon.
