Jaune and Courage the Cowardly Dog

Chap 52: Night of the Scarecrow

"My, isn't it a marvelous fair this year?" Muriel asked as we left the fair.

"It sure was. It was so much FUN!" Ruby shouted in agreement.

"Except for all the hay that got stuck in my hair." Yang complained as I helped her take out an absurd amount of hay from her hair.

"Come on kiddo. You got to admit it was a fun time." Qrow Branwen said chuckling.

"The hay ride was just grand." Muriel continued smiling as she held the blue ribbon, she won close.

We were exiting the annule fair that comes to Nowhere. With us were Yang and Ruby along with their uncle Qrow Branwen. They came to Nowhere to visit and have some bonding time. And since the fair was in town, we all decided to go there for the day. At first, Muriel did not like Qrow for his seemingly crass and rude behavior. Not to mention the fact that he had a flask on his belt that he would take a swig of every couple of minutes. But it did not take long for that to change as he only appeared to be like that to people at first glance. Yet in reality, he has a heart of gold. And full of liquor. But, like always, Muriel has a 'treatment' for that.

"How is that special tea treating you Mr. Qrow?" Muriel asked him.

"Fine. Though, I am still usure how this is making me not want to take a sip from my flask." He answered confused as he took a sip from the travel bottle we gave him.

"It's the special ingredient I put in." Muriel explained.

"What is it?" Qrow asked curious.

"I can't tell you that. It's an old family secret recipe." Muriel answered with a mischievous smile.

"Five bucks says its vinegar." I whispered to Courage.

'You're on.' He replied as we shook hands.

"Argh! Another fifty cents down the drain." Eustace complained as he finished the food he was eating before tossing the plate on the floor.

"I am not sure who I despise more. Him or the thugs I faced before." Qrow growled when he saw Eustace dump the plate to the floor. More specifically, right next to a half full garbage can.

"I said this before and I'll say it again. How do you stand him?" Yang asked with her eyes glowing red. Already telling Ruby to never litter like Eustace or she would take away her cookies.

"I honestly don't know at this point." I answered.

"Come along now. We best be getting back to the farm as it's getting mighty late." Muriel told us as she got into the truck.

"Coming." Courage and I said as we hurried up to the truck. Courage jumped into the front while the rest of us went in the back. Soon, we were on the road heading back.

"I just love county fairs." Muriel exclaimed happily.

"Blah, blah, blah." Eustace complained.

"Hey kid." Qrow said getting my attention.

"Yes?" I asked turning to him.

"You know, since getting here, I noticed that weren't any signs of Grimm anywhere. Not even in the outskirts. Why is that?" He asked.

"Oh. A friend of ours knows some magic. She put a spell to ward off the grimm from getting close. Well, that is if they even decide to get close that is." I answered.

"What do you mean by that?" Yang asked confused. While trying to hold Ruby down when she heard I say that our friend knows magic.

"Grimm are attracted by negative emotions and hatred." I started to explain.

"Yeah." Qrow said still confused.

"Well, I don't know of you noticed but aside from Eustace, Nowhere Town is the nicest and kindest town out there." I further explained.

"Right. Since grimm are attracted by negative emotions and since none are here, they have no reason to come. And even if they do come, they would be warded off by whatever your friend did." Yang said finally connecting the dots.

'There you go.' Courage said while eating the strange creamy cotton candy he got at the fair.

"Do you think I could meet your friend?" Qrow asked. This caused me and Courage to look at each other for a moment.

"We could but the thing is that we haven't seen or heard from her in a while." I answered.

"If you do see her, can you tell me as I want to see if she could help me with something." He told us.

"Alright." I replied. He nodded and was about to say something but stopped when a crow landed on his shoulder.

"Look. A crow landed on our crow." Ruby said letting out a laugh while Yang chuckled.

'Huh?' Courage asked confused.

"What is it Courage?" I asked him.

'AAHHHH!' He screamed in terror while pointing to ahead of us.

"Wow. That's a lot of crows." Ruby gasped noticing the crows coming towards us that easily numbered in the hundreds. There so many that it looked like a black blanket in the sky.

"I hate my semblance." Qrow muttered when he saw the crows heading towards us.

'What does his semblance have to do with this?' I thought curious while making a mental note to ask Ruby and Yang.

"Oh, I guess rain's a-coming. I better close the window." Muriel said as she began to roll up her window.

"Thats not rain Muriel." Yang said standing up when we noticed the crows seemed to be coming for us.

"AAHHH!" Muriel screamed when a crow got caught in the window as Muriel rolled the glass up.

'AAHHHH!' Courage screamed as well before jumping onto Eusatce head blinding him.

"HEY! WATCH WHAT YOU"RE DOING!" Eustace shouted as he tried to get Courage off his head.

"HEY FOCUS ON STEERING!" Yang shouted as we struggled to remain on the truck and not get flung off while trying to keep the crows away from her hair.

"I got you kiddos." Qrow said as he grabbed Yang and a laughing Ruby to keep them on the truck.

"WOAH!" We all yelled when the truck suddenly veered off the road and into the corn field with corn flying all over the place as we ran over the crops. After a few seconds, we stopped not from Eustace hitting the brakes but by going into a small dich.

"Thank Oum that is over." Yang said as she stood up and fixed herself while Qrow helped Ruby up and remove some corn from her hair.

"WHAT DO YOU!" Eustace shouted as he took Courage off his head. Courage tried to explained himself but Eustace ignored him and put him in the glove compartment.

"Well, now that is over. How about we get out of here Eustace?" I asked him. He grumbled before trying to do so. Only for us not to move an inch.

"What's the hold up?" Yang asked looking around.

"Must be stuck in a ditch." Eustace answered irritated.

"Now Eustace. Getting all unhinged isn't going to help." Muriel reminded him.

"Hey, all the crows passed us." Ruby said pointing to all the crows that seemed to be heading for something near us.

"Where could they be going?" Yang asked curious.

"Hopefully away from us." I told them.

"Well, either way. They're gone now. Let's get out and help get this truck out." Qrow told us. But before we could do so, we heard Muriel scream.

"AAHHH!" She screamed. Turning around, we saw a giant black creature groaning as it came to us.

"WHAT IS THAT!?" Ruby asked as she, Yang and Qrow took out their weapons.

"I say we take it out and ask later." Yang answered as the creature started to slam its hands on the hood of the truck.

"HEY, YOU!" Eustace shouted before blaring the horn of the truck. The result was the creature flying into the air a bit and revealing that the creature was nothing more than a scarecrow being carried by the crows that got scared off by the trucks horn. The scarecrow then fell on top of the hood of the truck.

"AAHHH!" Eustace and Muriel screamed at it in surprise. Courage at that point got out of the glove compartment.

'AAAHHH!' He screamed when he saw the scarecrow before going back in the glove compartment and putting up a do not disturb sign on the handle.

"Calm down Muriel. It's nothing more than an old scarecrow." I told them as I got off and made my way to the front. I then grabbed the scarecrow and looked it over.

"Well, would you look at that. Poor thing." Muriel said as she exited the truck and moved next to me to look over the scarecrow.

"Eh, forget that worthless pile of straw." Eustace said irritated.

"Scared uncle Qrow?" Ruby asked giggling. Qrow merely rolled her eyes at that.

"Think you can fix it Muriel?" I asked.

"Of course. All it needs is a few buttons here and there. A patch or two and it'll be good as new." Muriel answered.

"Argh! FINE! Put that thing in the back and push." Eustace demanded angrily. Signing, we placed the scarecrow in the back before getting the truck unstuck. And soon enough, we were on the road heading home.

Half an Hour Later

"Hmm." Muriel hummed as she looked over the scarecrow. "The wee scissors."

We were in the kitchen of the farmhouse. The scarecrow was on the table apart. Getting here, we decided to immediately fix up the scarecrow after cleaning it. And as per Ruby's request, we were even dressed up like doctors. Even having that weird metal plate on the foreheads. And while silly, it did make us laugh seeing ruby's expression and her acting like a serious doctor.

"Here you go." I said as I handed her the scissors.

"Eww. A mouse." Yang said as she saw a mouse jump out of a small hay pile that was on the table.

'EEE!' Courage moaned before fainting.

"Clothes." Muriel told us.

"Clothes." Ruby repeated as she gave Muriel some of Eustace clothes.

"Where will we put the scarecrow?" Qrow asked.

"Out in the back. Crows don't often come here. But when they do, they are annoying and persistent." I answered annoyed remembering all the crops that got eaten by them.

"Does anything even grow here?" He asked as he looked out the window.

"When we plant it, then yes. But never when Eustace does so." I answered.

"Hat." Muriel said getting our attention.

"Hat." Ruby repeated as she handed her the hat.

"There you go. Good as new." Muriel said as she stepped back and lowered her mask. But she then gasped when the scarecrow suddenly got up by itself. "Oh, my!"

"COOL!" Ruby shouted amazed.

"Stand back." Qrow said as he had his weapon out already. But lowered it when we saw the scarecrow drop to the ground.

"I don't think he is a threat." I said as I moved and helped the scarecrow to sit on the chair.

"I think he is trying to speak." Yang said as we heard muffled mumbling coming from it.

"Maybe-" Ruby began but was cut off when Eustace barged in.

"MURIEL! What's all this junk doing on the floor!" Eustace shouted as he kicked the basket that was holding the cloths we used to sew back the scarecrow.

"OH!" Muriel gasped annoyed and mad at Eustace.

"That was rude." Ruby said glaring at Eustace.

"And uncalled for." Yang added with her eyes tuning red.

Looking over to Qrow, I saw that he was letting a low growl and had his weapon and was about to attack Eustace. But he stopped along with the rest of us when we saw the scarecrow seem to get angry. It got up and went up to Eustace who was looking in the fridge. The scarecrow then proceeded to try and scare Eustace with some muffled moans.

"Um?" Ruby asked confused.

'EEE-EEE-EEE-EEE!' Courage said in terror before fainting again.

"What are you trying to do?" Yang asked the scarecrow who kept on doing the muffled moans in an attempt to scare Eustace. Yet he did not even hear or acknowledge them. That is, until the scarecrow got close to him.

"EH? Get away from me." Eustace said as he pushed the scarecrow away. He then tried to leave the room only to trip over a floorboard that mysteriously popped up from the floor. Since he wasn't paying attention, he tripped over it and was sent through the window. "OOF!"

'Huh?' Courage, who just woke up again asked confused.

"First time my semblance worked in my favor." We heard Qrow mutter under his breath. Hearing a sad moan, we looked over and saw that the scarecrow looked sad and defeated.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Ruby asked. The scarecrow muffled out an answer that we could not understand while pointing to Eustace. We then understood what it was trying to say.

"Now, now. You haven't gotten your scaring powers back yet." Muriel told it. The scarecrow then tried to say something while pointing to his face. At this, I nearly smacked myself for realizing it sooner.

"Muriel." I said to her.

"Yes?" She asked turning to me.

"I think the scarecrow can talk but we can't understand him because he has no mouth." I told her. At this, nearly all the others smacked their heads as well while Qrow chuckled.

"Kinda obvious now that you mention it." Yang said chuckling.

"Hold on." Muriel said as she lowered the scarecrow into the chair behind it. She then took some scissors and made a hole in its face before stitching it so that it would be a mouth. "Now, how's that suit ya?"

"MMM...oh...pop. Thank you." The scarecrow clearly answered.

"This should be interesting." I told Courage who nodded.

'At least he seems friendly.' He said smiling.

Half an Hour Later

"You just rest up and I'm sure you'll be scaring lots of things in no time." Muriel told the scarecrow who was sitting down next to barrel with a blanket on him.

We were outside in the vegetable garden. Making sure all the vegetables we planted were healthy and no weeds were growing. It was a half hour since we learned the scarecrow was actually living. And that he was a really nice fellow. Though, Courage and I could not help but shake the feeling that something unexpected was going to happen. For better or for worse still remained to be seen.

"Wow, this is exhausting." Yang said as she wiped the sweat off her forehead.

"And thirsty work." Ruby added exhausted.

"I know just the thing. Courage." Muriel said before calling out.

'Yes.' Courage said as he stuck his head out the kitchen window. In his paw was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. With the rest being on his face.

"He's an even messier eater than you are pipsqueak." Crow said as she stopped working for a moment to tease Ruby who blew a raspberry at him.

"Would you mind pouring us all a wee dram of lemonade?" Muriel asked.

'Sure. Be right back.' Courage said before heading back inside.

"Oh, lemonade sounds really good about now." Yang sighed at the thought of a refreshing lemonade.

"Jaune. Be a dear and help me remove this weed." Muriel told me.

"Sure." I said as I moved over and tried to remove the weed. Took a bit more effort than I expected but I got it out anyway.

"Thank you Jaune." Muriel said smiling. Only to gasp in shock when a snake appeared. "OOOH!"

"Great. Not this snake again." Ruby said annoyed. Remembering when we had to deal with this same snake when it tried to eat the baby birdies, we babysat a while ago.

"OOH!" We heard the scarecrow gasp in shock. It then came up next to us and tried to scare the snake away. Only for it to hiss at him before smacking him away with its tail. At this moment, Courage came with the lemonade.

'AAHHH!' He screamed in shock and fear.

"AAHHH!" The snake screamed before biting its tail. And then, like a tire, it rode away scared.

"Huh. Never saw a snake do that before." Qrow said surprised.

"Thank you, Courage." Muriel said patting him on the head.

"Yeah. Nice one Courage." Ruby cheered. We all nodded in agreement before hearing the scarecrow start sobbing behind us.

"Now, now. I don't want you worrying about frightening things on my account." Muriel told him.

"Oh, if I can't scare things away to protect you, what good am I?" He asked sadly.

"Don't you worry about protecting me. Nothing bad ever happens around here." Muriel told him.

"So, what does she think about everything has happened before hand?" Yang asked amazed at what Muriel just said.

"I don't know honestly." I answered.

"What could she think counts as something bad happens?" Qrow asked. As if to answer, a giant spaceship with many cannons suddenly landed next to us. "Me and my semblance."

"Oh, my." Murel gasped when the door of the spaceship opened and an alien came out of the ship.

"OOOOHHH!" The scarecrow moaned as he went up to the alien and tried to scare it away. But the alien simply looked confused before using a tentacle to slap him away. The alien then walked up to us and aimed a gun at us.

"Oh, my." Muriel gasped.

"Bad movie buddy." Yang smirked as she, Ruby and Qrow took out and readied their weapons. Hearing this, the alien took out about nine more guns.

"What did I tell you Yang?" Qrow asked disappointed.

"Never think you can easily win a fight." She answered nervously. Qrow nodded with a hum as he looked back at the alien.

"Now what?" I asked moving in front of Muriel to protect her. Luckily, it seemed Courage had an answer.

'AAAHHHH!' Courage screamed. This time with his heart coming out of him. Still attached to his insides and beating as well I should.

"EEE!" The alien screeched before running back to the ship and leaving.

"Two things. One, does that always happen here? And second, how is Courage still alive?" Qrow asked surprised at what he saw.

"Yeah. Maybe not that exactly but does happen quite often. And I don't know how he survives that." I answered as I helped Courage b putting his heart back on his body.

"What good am I?" The scarecrow asked sadly. A bunny then went up to him. He tried to scare it but the bunny just took a straw from his knee before hopping away. "Oh."

"There, there. You're just done in. I'm sure you'll be right as rain in the morning." Muriel told him.

"Yeah. A good rest always helped me when I was younger." Ruby added smiling.

"Maybe. But where shall I rest?" He asked.

"The barn is a good place. Let me get you a blanket and pillow." Muriel answered with the scarecrow following her.

"Do you think he will be able to scare again Jaune?" Ruby asked.

"I don't know. Hopefully." I answered as while we didn't know the guy for long, he was such a nice guy that just needed help. "Anyway, let's head inside as it's getting late and so I can make dinner."

Next Day Morning

"Where's my jelly? Can't eat my toast without my jelly." Eustace complained as he read the paper.

It was early in the morning and we were in the kitchen. Muriel and I were making some bacon and eggs with toast for breakfast. Yang, Ruby and Qrow were sitting at the table talking on what they could do later while glowering at Eustace. Courage was next to them eating some dog food Muriel made with vinegar.

"You know, you can always get it yourself." Qrow said glaring at Eustace.

"Blah-OW" Eustace began but was struck in the gut by Ruby and Qrow using their scythes.

"Oh. We're all out." Muriel said as she took out the jar, we use to store the jelly. "I'll just run down to the basement for another jar."

"Have you guys seen the scarecrow?" I asked as I started to set the plates for Ruby, Yang and Qrow.

"Haven't seen him since yesterday." Yang answered while Ruby shook her head.

"I heard some sounds coming from the barn earlier. Maybe he is still there." Qrow answered while taking a bite out of the bacon.

"I'll check in a bit." I said as I finished setting the plates up and serving the food. But as I finished, a knock was heard on the door.

"See who it is dog." Eustace demanded.

'Fine.' Courage said annoyed as he stopped eating and went to the door. Only to be launched into me a second later.

"OOF!" We grunted as we landed on the floor. Looking up, we saw a strange sight that was unexpected.

'Is that the scarecrow?!' I thought seeing the now buff and fierce looking scarecrow.

'AAHHH!' Courage gasped before fainting completely.

"HEY!" Qrow shouted as he got up and took out his weapon.

"JAUNE!" Ruby and Yang shouted as they rushed over to me. Only to flinch in shock when a loud crash was heard. Looking up, we saw that the scarecrow somehow managed to toss Qrow through the roof and out the house.

"Go check on him. I got this." I told them. They seemed hesitant but did so anyway. Standing up, I saw the scarecrow walk over to Eustace.

"HEY! That was the coupons." Eustace shouted when the scarecrow took the paper from him. Only to shout a second later when the scarecrow picked him up. "Let go off me. Let go-"

'He should have seen that coming.' I thought wincing a bit when the scarecrow beat Eustace before doing the same to Eustace. And by that, I mean sending Eustace through the roof and land outside the house. I was about to move to the scarecrow but stopped when Muriel came back.

"Now Eustace. I always tell you to clean your mess when you're through eating." Muriel scolded as she walked up to the table holding a fresh jar of jelly.

"Ah, Muriel. That is not Eustace." I told her when I saw the scarecrow crumple up the paper angrily.

'Not safe. Scarecrow-' Courage began as well but was cut off when the scarecrow grabbed us both by our necks.

"WOOAAHH!" We both shouted as the scarecrow threw us through roof and landed outside the house.

"OW!" Eustace grunted as we fell on him.

"Are you okay Jaune?" Ruby asked as she helped me up while Yang helped Courage.

"Fine. Just surprised at what just happened." I answered.

"Wasn't the scarecrow skinny and kind of hard to be afraid of yesterday?" Yang asked also surprised.

"He was. Guess his drive to protect Muriel made him change." Qrow told us.

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.

"Let this be a lesson to you Ruby and Yang. Never underestimate someone's drive to do something. And in this case, the will of the scarecrow to protect Muriel and prove that he can be scary." Qrow lectured them.

"Can we continue this lecture later so we can check on Muriel." I cut in with Courage already running to the house.

"Right." Qrow said before turning back to Yang and Ruby. "We'll continue this later."

They groaned at this but nodded anyway. We then ran back to the house. Only to stop at the door when we saw a sign saying to keep out. We were about to ignore it and had inside but stopped when the windows and door were suddenly covered with metals sheets. Quickly going to the side, we saw that this happened to every window and door of the house.

"What's he doing?" Yang asked confused.

"Turning this place into a safe house for Muriel." Qrow answered.

"A safe house huh. Bet I can break in." Yang said with a smug grin as she readied a punch. But was stopped by a disappointed Qrow.

"Don't you think the scarecrow would have thought of that? He could have something ready for that." Qrow told her sternly.

"Then how are we going to get in?" Ruby asked.

'Maybe the basement.' Courage suggested.

"Worth to check it out." I said before we made our way over with the others quickly following us.

"Careful, there could be trap behind those doors." Qrow warned. Nodding, we opened the doors and saw only darkness. Only to be surprised a second later when a dragon emerged and spew fire at us.

"SHIT!" I shouted as I dove to the side with Courage while Qrow did the same with Yang and Ruby.

'Now what?' Courage asked as he out the small fire that caught on his fur.

"Hey. There's a window here." Ruby shouted getting our attention.

"Right. Forgot about that. Let's take a look inside." I said as Courage and I moved to the window. Laying down on the ground we cleaned the widow a bit to see into the basement.

'MURIEL!' Courage shouted when we saw her crying.

"What did you see?" Qrow asked.

"Muriel trapped against her will and crying." I answered. "We need to get in there now."

"But how are we going to get past the dragon and I doubt we can fit through this window." Yang asked. Before I could say anything, we head somebody stomping on something. Looking towards the noise, we saw Eustace banging his foot against the doors.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" I asked them. They nodded and smiled. We then walked over to Eustace.

"I want jelly!" He shouted as he continued to stomp on the doors. He only stopped when he saw us. "What do you all want?"

"Just to help." Yang smirked before Qrow and Ruby quickly opened the doors to let the dragon out and breath fire on Eustace.

"AAHHHH!" Eustace screamed as the fire burned him.

"Quick. Inside." I said as we made our way down the steps into the basement. Looking around, we saw Muriel walking towards us.

"Oh, thank heavens its all of you." Muriel said happily.

"Are you okay Muriel?" I asked.

"Fine now that you all are here." She answered.

"We better leave before the scarecrow comes back." Qrow reminded us.

'Right.' Courage said as he picked up Muriel before hopping onto the dragon. We were confused before doing the same. We then pulled the lever next to us which activated the dragon. It took us out of the basement and burnt Eustace yet again.

"What about my jelly?" He weakly asked before fainting.

"Now what?" Ruby asked.

"We put some distance between us and the scarecrow." I answered.

"And how we do that?" Yang asked,

"By using Eustace's truck." Qrow said pointing to the truck.

Nodding, we headed over there and got in. Turning it on, we drove away from the house as fast as we could. And very soon, we were back in the cornfields from yesterday. But we did not stop. After a few more minutes, we heard a loud roar of an engine behind us.

'What was that?' Courage asked scared. Looking back, we saw the scarecrow chasing after us.

"What is he driving?" Ruby asked nervous and curious.

"A threatening hay baler." I answered seeing it in the side mirror.

'AAHHH!' Courage screamed.

"HANG ON!" I shouted as I turned the truck into the cornfield.

"MURIEL! PROTECT MURIEL!" We heard the scarecrow shout.

"He is persistent. But we need to get him off our tail." Yang said while covering her face to avoid getting hit by the corn that was flying.

"Yeah, but how?" I asked.

"Speeding up would be a good idea." Qrow answered. But as soon as he did so, we hit a ditch. The same ditch that we got stuck in yesterday. "Damn it."

"Everybody out." I said as we all got out except for Eustace with Courage carrying Muriel.

"We won't out run that machine." Yang said as we ran as fast as we could yet the hay baler was quickly catching up with us.

"No, we won't." I said as we continued to run. Only to trip over another ditch a few seconds later. We feared that the scarecrow would run over us any second but to our surprise, he turned away from us completely.

"Um, why did he turn away?" Yang asked confused.

"I don't-" I began to answer but stopped when I saw what caused it. A crow attacking the scarecrow. Hearing some more in the sky, I quickly turned to Courage. "Courage, get their attention."

'CAW! CAW! CAW!' Courage called out exactly like a crow.

"What are you doing?" Qrow asked confused as the crows immediately came towards us.

"OH NO! NOT THE CROWS!" The scarecrow shouted in fear as the crows started to attack him. Taking him with them towards the truck.

"WHAT!? AAHHH!" Eustace shouted as the hay baler started to chase him.

"OH, MY!" Muriel gasped at seeing the crows attack the scarecrow.

"HELP!" The scarecrow pleaded.

"Poor thing. Not much of a scarecrow is he." Muriel said as we walked up to him.

"I think that is enough." Qrow said after a moment. Nodding, Courage went to the truck and honk the horn which caused all the crows to fly away. Leaving behind a mangled scarecrow.

"My father was a scary scarecrow. And his father. And his Aunt Hilda." The scarecrow told us as Muriel kneeled down and placed his head on her lap. "Oh, but me. I'm a worthless bale of... nothing."

"Oh. Don't say that." Ruby said patting his head.

"Just because you come from a scary family, doesn't mean you have to be scary too." Muriel told him.

"But what else is there for the likes of me?" He asked.

"Maybe you got other talents." Muriel answered.

"Or something you really passionate about." Ruby added.

"Or even something you always wanted to try." Yang finished.

'Hmm.' Courage began to think.

"I think I have an idea. Something that might suit you." Qrow said getting our attention.

"What is it Qrow?" Ruby asked.

"I'll show you." He answered.

Next Day

"Don't you just love hay rides?" Muriel asked.

We were on the hay ride at the county fair. Apparently, the idea Qrow had was to make the scarecrow not only the driver for the hay ride but also a part of a few other attractions. We were concerned at first with the scarecrow hesitant but he quickly took to it and smile the whole way through.

"It's a nice time." I answered.

"It is so much fun." Ruby agreed eating some cotton candy.

"Escpeially on a nice day as well." Yang added laying down to try and get a tan.

"AH! Thank you all so much for this opportunity." The scarecrow said laughing before focusing back on driving.

"You're welcome." Crow said as he took a sip from the special drink Muriel made him again.

"GET OFF! GET OFF! HEY! HEY!" Eustace shouted trapped in a hay bale. We found him a while after the crows attacked him. And as punishment for being an ass, we decided to use him as a chair for the ride. But as we enjoyed the ride, I remembered something.

'Hey, Eustace's birthday is in a few days. Should I even get him something?' I wondered.

Note:

(1) Curse of Shirley with Qrow, Yang and Ruby. (2) Wrath of the librarian with Blake. (3) Thousand years of Courage with Sun and Neptune. (4) Courage meets the Mummy with Ruby. (5) The Transplant with Terra, Saphron and Adrian. (6) McPhearsome Phantom with Blake, Kali and Ghira. (7) Aqua Farmer with Blake, Kali and Ghira. (8) Food of the dragon with Blake, Kali and Ghira (9) Journey to the center of Nowhere with Peach (10) Heads of Beef with Sun and Neptune.

Here's a question. Should I have Shirley transfer all of Qrow's bad luck to Eustace or have it as it is in the episode.

Also, should I have Shirley remove Qrow's semblance? Or give him the ability to control it?
