Chapter 11: A Ball with Princesses
It was a very quiet day… however everyone was getting bored. It was all to quiet.
"Is there an island?" asked Luffy.
"I see one!" called out Usopp.
"All right! New adventures!" cheered Luffy.
However they approached the island something surprising happened.
Several ships surrounded them.
"This is bad!" said Rei.
All of them had the same flag.
"So that's the island we're approaching…" said Robin.
"you know that symbol…" said Sanji.
Robin nodded.
"We wish to board your ship." Said one of the other people, "We wish you no harm… however if you deiced to put up a fight we will sink your vessel."
"Let them on…" said Robin.
They allowed the group to board and it seemed to be members of the Army.
"So this is the ship of Straw Hat Luffy… not what I expected." Said one of the men.
They all looked art the men.
"SO what do you want us to do?" asked Robin.
"You see the Royal Family is having a ball tonight and we still need extra security." Said the man.
There was an awkward silence.
"What?" asked most of the crew.
"I take it only one of you knows about our island's history…" said the man.
The man began to explain the island had the most diamond mines out any island in the world, because of that it is very wealthy.
While officially part of the World Government, the royal family never trusted the World Government. Because of that they were hire pirates for certain tasks acting mercenaries.
Though they didn't' do it for all pirates just those with more trust worthy traits.
The World Government tended to look away due to certain reasons…
"So in other words, "Screw the rules, I have money"." Said Zoro summing it up.
"Pretty much." Said the man with a shrug.
"What makes you thank we're trust worthy?" asked Nami.
"We heard rumors." Said the man, "Rumors about how you're the ones that really stop Crocodile in Alabasta."
"IT's true." Laughed Luffy.
"All right then… we have a job for you." Said the man.
He gave them a piece of paper.
"This is the price we're willingly to pay you." Said the man.
Nami's eyes turned to Berries.
"All right! We'll do it." Said Nami.
"Figures." Sighed everyone else with a sweat drops.
"Perfect, we'll find a place to dock and you can talk to the Princess about what she wants you to do." Said the man.
"This is really weird." Said Usopp.
"Don't worry, I've heard a lot of good things about this place." Said Robin.
They were taken to the Palace of the island. All of them were waiting for the princess.
"Oh wow! I can't believe we're meeting a princess!" said Usagi.
Most of the other crewmembers shrugged.
"How is this not a big deal." Said Usagi.
"It's been done…" said Nami.
"You've met a Princess before?" asked Rei, "Weird…"
"She traveled with us for a while." Said Sanji.
"Wow~! That's so cool! " said Usagi.
That was when the door opened and a very meek looking girl with big thick glasses came in.
"Um… hi…" she said, "You're the Straw Hat Pirates right?"
"Yeah, we are." Said Luffy.
"I was hoping you would work for me…" sad the girl who mumbled the rest.
"Sorry can you say that again?" asked Ami.
"I need you to act as body guards for me and my family's treasure." She managed to say.
"Oh I've heard of the treasure it's worth billions of Berries, but no one has ever seen it." Said Robin.
"My family to finally reveal it…" said the girl.
"This is a big event." Said Robin.
"It is… but it's always in danger so I need some guards to protect it." Said the girl.
"All right! We'll protect it!" said Luffy.
"And of course you'll pay us right!" said Nami with her eyes still replaced with Berries.
"Of course…" said the girl with a sweat drop.
"All right this will be fun!" said Luffy.
And so there were jobs given.
5 of them were to hide in the crowd in the party while the other 5 would be behind the scenes guarding the girl (who was the Princess) and the treasure.
The 5 that were chosen to be in the party were Nami, Sanji, Usagi, Ami and Rei.
While the behind the scenes group was Luffy, Zoro, Chopper, Usopp and Robin.
"Wait!" yelled Usopp, "I'm behind the scenes! Then that means I'll probably have to fight."
"Sorry Usopp but you don't look like the type that can blend into the crowd." Said Nami.
Usopp began to pout.
"Come on, it's one of the richest countries on the Grand Line, what's the worst that can happen?" asked Sanji.
Meanwhile in the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl was discussing plans with Nephrite.
"You believe that this might be the Silver Crystal?" asked Nephrite.
"I do…" said Queen Beryl, "I want you to go retrieve it…"
"Yes my queen." Said Nephrite.
That was when Zoisite appeared.
"My queen, I thought it was my duty to find the Silver Crystal." Said Zoisite.
"I believe it is time to give Nephrite another shot." Said Queen Beryl, "But don't waste this chance again…"
"Yes my queen." Sid Nephrite.
At the Palace, the girls were in a room filled with Ball Gowns.
"Oh wow"! said Usagi.
"If you want to can keep whatever you pick." Said the Princess from the doorway.
"This reminds me back before I met Luffy." Said Nami, "Sometimes I would go to swanky parties knowing that pirates would attack."
"Trust me… I'd rather not think about swanky parties." Said Rei.
She froze.
"I have to go ask the Princess something." She said .
"I wonder what that was about." Said Ami.
"Who knows…" said Usagi.
That was when she saw a dress that had flowers on it.
"Oh this one is perfect." Said Usagi.
"You know should try it on." Said Nami.
"Oh yeah." Said Usagi with a sweat drop.
Thankfully the gown fit.
Nami wore a gold gown that covered her shoulder so that no one would see her tattoo as well.
Ami wore a sky blue gown and small tiara with it.
Rei wore a red gown as well.
Of course Sanji wore a nice tuxedo.
And soon the Ball got started.
Sanji started hitting on more the girls.
"Okay… you can stop now…" said Rei pulling him from them.
Usagi was enjoying the party by eating some stuff. She finished the snacks and sat down.
She looked at all the happy dancing couples.
She sighed.
She looked at Sanji and Rei. Rei decided to give Sanji a pity dance.
What she didn't know was that Tuxedo Mask was nearby.
Tuxedo Mask was plague by dream of a mysterious girl telling to find the Silver Crystal.
He thought the family Treasure of the kingdom would be that Crystal.
That's why he was there to steal it… unaware of the Kingdom' pirate policy and the Straw Hats were there.
That was when he noticed Usagi looked almost exactly like the girl from his dreams.
"Excuse me would you like to dance?" asked Tuxedo Mask.
"Of course." Said Usagi blushing.
He danced with her.
"I can't belie I'm dancing with Tuxedo Mask." Thought Usagi.
Nami and Ami both noticed who she was dancing with.
"Is that Tuxedo Mask?" asked Ami.
"It is…" said a girl.
"Excuse me." Said a Man with glasses holding a camera, "Are you some of the pirates hired for the party?"
"What makes you say that?" asked Nami getting suspicious.
"Well you seem to know her." Said the man.
"And how do you know she's a pirate?" asked Ami getting suspicious.
"I'm just a photo journalist who's covering this story." Said the man, "I sometimes am pulled away from my home island."
"What does that have to do with anything?" asked Nami.
"Here's my business card." He said handing her a boniness card.
"Tsukino Kenji…" read Nami, "Wait… Tsukino?"
The man started laughing nervously.
"Tell me is Usagi doing well?" asked the name named Kenji.
"She is…" said Nami.
"So nothing sexual?" asked Kenji.
"What did you just say!" yelled Sanji who was done with his dance with Rei and only heard that part.
"Sanji calm down." Said Nami giving Sanji the business card.
"Tsukino…" said Sanji.
Sanji looked at the photojournalist.
"Well I…" said Sanji.
"Don't' worry it." Said Ami, "Our crew isn't that bad…"
"If anything we do more good than harm." Said Nami.
"So you're a Peace Main?" asked Kenji.
The four stared at him.
"Sorry it's a Press term for pirates that don't really steal or cause chaos…" said Kenji.
"Sounds about right,." said Nami.
"SO I take it that no one in your crew has bounties…" laughed Kenji.
"We never said that." Said Rei.
Kenji sweat dropped when she said that.
Behind the scenes the Straw Hats who were on guard duty were hanging outside of the Princess' dressing room.
"So board" said Luffy.
Chopper backpack began to shake.
Chopper opened it.
"Sorry I needed air." Sighed Luna.
"Wait you came along?" asked Luffy surprised.
"I'm a member of this crew you know." Said Luna.
"We just figured you were back at the ship." Said Usopp.
That was when a woman holding a press pass showed up.
"I'm here to Interview the Princess." Said the woman who sweat dropped, "Aren't you the Straw Hat Pirates."
"Sorry but the Princess has no interview lined up before the unveiling, sorry but you like have to leave." Said Robin who memorized most of the instructions for the night.
"I guess I have to do plan B them." Said the woman.
They all got a bad feeling.
Robin grabbed the woman, however she turned to a strange gas like state.
"Sorry but it's so late." Said the now gas creature who went through the doors
"What just happened!" yelled Luffy.
That was when the door opened and the Princess now had purple skin.
"Sorry Straw Hats but I win this time." The Princess who was holding the treasure.
She sent Black Energy at them knocking them down.
"I think the Princess was Possessed." Said Luna once they all recovered.
"You think." Said Zoro.
Usopp managed to go the near Snail Phone.
Through out the dance hall the Snail Phones away awakened and started blaring an alarm.
"Okay! This might sound crazy but the Princess is possessed by something evil!" called out Usopp from the Snail Phones, "I repeat the Princess is Possessed!"
"That sounds Crazy… right?" asked Kenji.
"You would be surprised." Said Rei.
That was they saw the Princess running through.
"Out of my way!" yelled the Princess.
Usagi noticed the Princess was headed her way.
She took out the Moon Discus that was hidden in her dress and took it out.
"Hey Princess! Catch!" called out Usagi.
"What?" asked the Princess.
She saw the Moon Discus heading for her. She caught it .
"What it is this supposed to do?" asked the Possessed Princess.
That was when she got the shock.
Usagi grabbed the Treasure once she was knocked out.
"I'm sorry Princess." She said.
"Here I'll protect you!" said Tuxedo Mask.
However Nami and Ami were already by her side wit their weapons drawn.
Rei was making sure Sanji didn't do anything to Tuxedo Mask.
"I'm so confused right now…" sighed Kenji.
However the Princess got up.
She managed send both Ami and Nami flying and grabbed Usagi.
"Let go of me now!" yelled Usagi.
"You think you're funny eh member of the Straw Hats… but you're going down!" said the Possessed Princess. She tossed Usagi out the Window. Thankfully there was a Balcony on the other side.
The Possessed Princess Picked up the treasure from Usagi.
"I guess I should…" said the Possessed Princess.
"Spirit Spirit Scroll!" called Rei attacking the Princess from behind causing the thing possessing her to be revealed.
Nami managed to get her up and both of them hid.
The party guests were freaking out because of that thing.
"How are we going to destroy that thing?" asked Usagi.
"It's clearly relegated to the Dark Kingdom." Pointed out Nami.
"Oh… right…" said Usagi.
"Don't worry, I'll back you up…" said Nami taking out her transformation wand.
Usagi nodded.
"Moon Prism Power! Make-Up!" called out Usagi.
"Sun Power! Make-Up!" called out Nami.
Sailor Sun sighed as her transformation took much longer than Usagi's.
"I'll suit go fight it with out…" sighed Sailor Sun with a sweat drop.
The Palace's Staff and as well as Usopp and Chopper help evacuate the Dance Hall. However one of the guests were being stubborn.
"Look you have to Evacuate!" yelled Usopp to Kenji.
"I'm not leaving until my daughter's okay!" said Kenji.
"You're daughter's fine." Sad Chopper.
"I don't know what you are but I saw when happened to my daughter! And I need to know where she is!" Kenji, "I never should have allowed her to become a pirate!"
"Let him stay!" said Robin.
"What?" asked Kenji, Usopp and Chopper with sweat drops.
"I memories the Press for the ball." Said Robin, "I noticed a rather interesting name… though I wasn't sure if it was concise or not."
Robin had a sly smile.
"Just make sure you stay out of the way." Said Robin.
"Of course." Said Kenji nodding.
"All right! Since you have to with the Dark Kingdom." Said Luffy.
He tired to punch the thing out side of the Princess.
"If that thing wasn't effect by Robin what makes you think you would it!" yelled Zoro.
"Oh… right…" said Luffy.
"Golden Shining Light!"
The light shined on the spirit.
They turned to see Sailor Sun.
"All right Sailor Sun!" said Sanji with hearts in his eyes.
"Who's that…" said Kenji.
"We shouldn't tell the Press that." Said Robin with a sly smirk.
"Geez Sun! You couldn't wait for me?" asked Sailor Moon.
"Just finish it off." Said Sailor Sun.
"Oh right." Said Sailor Moon.
"Moon Tiara Action!" called out Sailor Moon.
Her Tiara destroyed the Spirit causing the Princess to faint now that it was moved from her body.
"Hey…" said Rei.
"Yeah…" said Luffy.
"Where's the Treasure?" asked Rei.
They noticed Tuxedo Mask holding it outside.
"Hey!" yelled Luffy, "That doesn't belong to you!"
"It's not what I was looking for to anyways." Said Tuxedo Mask tossing the box at Luffy.
Tuxedo Mask went to jump of the Balcony and it appeared he disappeared in thin air.
"Where did he go?" asked Sailor Moon.
"I don't know… but I wonder if he's a bad guy now." Said Luffy.
"You might want to find a place to de-transform… your dad's worried about you." Whispered Sailor Sun.
"Yeah… wait what?" asked Sailor Moon.
Somewhere else Nephrite was muttering things under his breath.
"Great…" he muttered, "Stupid Straw Hats…"
Sailor Moon managed to find a place to De-Transform.
The Party Guests didn't care about the rest of the Straw Hats being there and just pretended that the offal story (Evil Devil Fruit user with possession powers) didn't happen.
Usagi had a rather embarrassing task.
"I'm sorry for worrying you!" said Usagi.
"Usagi is a prized member of this crew and please don't' drag her back home…" said Luffy.
"What gave you that idea?" asked Zoro with a sweat drop.
"My wife would kill me I did." Sighed Kenji.
"Attention every one… Princess D would like to unveil the treasure." Said one of the Palace's Staff
"So her name is D." said Luffy.
"Were you paying attention at all." Said Usopp.
Kenji got to a place where he could get very good pictures.
Turns out the treasure was a satire of the first Princess of the Island craved from a huge diamond.
It looked more ridiculous than it sounded.
"It's worthless." Muttered Nephrite.
Back in the palace Usagi sighed and went to get some air.
"I need a nap." She mumbled.
That was when she noticed Tuxedo Mask.
"Sorry about earlier." Said Tuxedo Mask, "I just couldn't leave until I said good bye."
Usagi nodded.
"Will I ever see you again?" asked Usagi.
"I don't know…" said Tuxedo Mask.
"Hey!" yelled Luffy who followed Luffy out on the balcony.
Turned out Luna was by his feet and glaring at Tuxedo Mask.
Then Kenji showed p glaring at Tuxedo Mask who fled.
Usagi sighed.
"He was going to kiss me." Said Usagi.
"I forbid it!" yelled Kenji.
"But Dad! I don't live with you any more." Said Usagi.
Luffy was confused.
"Why did I just get over protective just now?" asked Luffy confused.
The next day they were heading to the Ship.
"Is anyone else going to keep their dresses?" asked Usagi.
"No." said Rei.
"Yes." Admitted Nami.
Ami blushed with out answering.
"Am I seriously the only one?" asked Rei.
As they headed back they heard some photos being taken of them.
They turned to see Kenji waving good-bye.
"I'm surprised you're dad is here." Said Chopper.
"So am I." admitted Usagi, "I knew his job took him away to other islands some time… but that…"
And so they saved the rather stupid looking treasure from Nephrite. And they met Usagi's father.
However Usagi wasn't sure what was going on with Tuxedo Mask. And that was the biggest mystery right now… which hopefully will be solved…
