Office of the Hokage
"Reporting to the Lord Hokage, we have received confirmation that the shinobi candidates for promotion to chunin from the nearby shinobi villages are bound to arrive today. The accommodations have been prepared and the minor details have been taken care of."
The anbu with a turtle mask gave his report and is awaiting further instructions from the third hokage.
"What about those for the Kages and the Daimyos?"
"Of course this has been given top priority my lord and everything has been prepared based on your instructions."
"What of our own participating teams as you may already know any team who cleared eight or more missions are eligible to take the chunin exams. That is of course if you deem they are ready for it. Let's start with your team Kakashi."
"Team seven includes Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, and Haruno Sakura. I Hatake Kakadhi recommend all three to participate in the upcoming chunin exams."
"Team eight..."
"Team ten..."

Gates of Konoha
'Its been quite a while. I'm back I guess.'
"So this is Konohagakure?"
"Aside from the fertile soil, its nothing much."
"Look at these tree huggers, they look dumb."
Bitter hate mixed with envy and sour graping is in the air. Hot blooded genins vocalized their stance in an attempt to make themselves feel more reassured and comfortable with their current reality.
The team from sunagakure and other neighboring shinobi village participants arrived in front of the gates of Konoha where a guide helped lead them to their accomodations. The Jonin accompanying the group left for a debriefing and the genin are left to their own devices.
"Let's go out and find something to eat. I'm quite bored and hungry right now. Maybe find souvenirs to bring back or something."
"I'm in." (for the food) -Kankuro
"I'm in." (for the souvenirs) -Temari
The two answered at the same time for very different reasons which is obvious to their little brother.
'They really are easy to talk to.'
Gaara smiled and began to head out followed by his siblings.
The arrival of the bi-annual chunin exam ushered in a competitive and lively atmosphere around the whole village. Temporary stalls and vendors can be found littering the sidewalk selling food, daily items and many glittery trinkets.
The trio walked around trying the food and buying things. Gaara and Temari smiled all the time while teasing their brother who wanted to uphold the image of his village by acting serious all the time.
'Sheesh... Seriously... These two will be the death of me.'
He shakes his head while inwardly smiling. He could never have dreamed of the three of them being this close and wished for it to stay that way.
Suddenly, he moved and dodged a blind running boy and grabbed him in the scarf in the process. When he saw the little snot nosed kid, his nerves ticked in annoyance. He lets go of the boy to give him a good scolding.
"Hey little runt, don't run around blindly lest you hurt somebody~"
"Oioioi... don't you think you're too old to be bullying a kid? Why don't you find someone your own size?"
Kankuro raised his eyebrow at the remark and looked at the busybody, seeing that its a genin from konoha he smiled.
"Oh yeah? What are you gonna do about it huh whisker boy?"
Naruto was also ticked by the remark and observed Kankuro from head to toe then the two behind him.
"Let Konohamaru go."
"Or what?"
Kankuro provoked Naruto on purpose. It's been a while since it is his turn to induce headache in others and not the other way around. He found it amusing to be annoying, unfortunately for him his siblings are a level higher than he is in the art of being annoying and always ended up in the receiving end.
"Or you'll be dea~ Sakura?"
Just as Naruto is about to retort, he was interrupted by Sakura.
"You guys are from sunagakure from what I reckon. We of the land of fire may be allied with the land of wind, but this doesn't mean that you can stroll around in our village unannounced. State your purpose, and it better be good."
"For you to not know what is happening in your own village... you sure took your time living under a rock. Anyway, we have permission the representatives from sunagakure are here to take the chunin exam."
It was Temari who answered flashing her permit. Her disdain for these ignorant and immature kids only grew further. But she smiled knowing that passing the chunin exam is already in the bag.
"Chunin exam? What's that? Well I've never heard of any chunin exam. Believe it."
'Believe it alright, you are just plain dumb.'
It was then that Konohamaru explained what a chunin exam is and what it entails.
"Ohoho so you're a representative as well? The quality of konohagakure shinobi seems to be on a decline. How about we test each other right~"
"Kankuro let's go."
Temari couldn't be bothered by Kankuro's antics and wanted to continue her shopping spree. These tree huggers didn't catch her eyes at all.
"Ughh fine... My name is Kankuro, I'll be waiting for you in the chunin exams."
Kankuro spoke and turned around to follow Gaara and Temari.
"I'm Uzumaki Naruto, I'll be teaching you a lesson about bullying others. Believe it!"

"You're too loud Naruto!"
'Idiot...'
Sasuke on the other hand trailed his eyes on the gradually disappearing trio. He felt inexplicable danger from them, especially from the smiling brow-less redhead and the icy-glare blondy.
"What do you think Dosu?"
"Interesting, we'll have to be more careful in dealing with those from sunagakure. As for the trio from konohagakure? They are just trash except for the Uchiha."
Dosu from Otogakure evaluated his future targets. Gathering intel on his enemies is how he does. It is his ninja way.
