"Mother, Father, can I speak with you both?"

"Yes, you may speak with us son?" Lord Phenex spoke from his throne as he looked at his youngest son, but not his youngest child. It was rare for Riser to leave his harem alone for any real amount of time, but the last several days while Ravel was being tested he had been keeping a very close eye on his sister. "You're not watching your sister today?" Lord Phenex asked Riser.

Riser glanced away.

"... Uzumaki won't let her die, I'm sure she will be safe from his Servants as long as he is there. Ravel sees something great in him, and I can see it too." Riser hated to admit it, but he had been forced to after he had tested Naruto and watched how Naruto kept a close eye on his servants for the most part. Whenever Naruto was using a Servant that might kill Ravel, he always stayed close enough to stop them before they could go too far.

He could trust nothing bad would happen to his sister.

Lady Phenex just watched her son with a raised eyebrow, since this was a new thing from him.

"... I'm lacking as a son, aren't I?" Riser asked as he gripped his fists together. "I'm not as strong as my brothers, and I'm not as smart as my sister... is that why you are using me for the arranged marraige with Rias Gremory?" Riser came out and said it.

Both of his brothers were far stronger than he was, it was an unfair comparison. Yet he always held pride in how strong his brothers were. He knew that he was strong as well, but others like Sairoarg Bael put him to shame through sheer effort of their training. They were High Class Devils like him though, so there was no shame in them being stronger than him.

His sister was more intelligent than he was, he would admit he was a little smart, but his sister was a genius surpassing even Sona Sitri and Rias Gremory. She was only held back by her arrogance and her bad temper, if she could mature beyond those things then she could be one of the greatest tactical geniuses in the Underworld.

"... and what brings this question on? You're the most Prideful of the Phenex, are you having second thoughts about your abilities?" Lord Phenex asked, and he held his hands above his hands to hide his smile.

This was quite the change.

"... That Uzumaki, in less than a month at being a Devil, he's already stronger than those like Sairoarg Bael. Ravel is extremely intelligent, and she sees something great in him. It's something so great that she's willing to go to extremes to be with him... Rias is also very intelligent... and she rejects me so harshly." Riser gripped his fists tightly.

He hated these feelings he was having.

"Son, we will never-"

"There is much that you lack, something the Uzumaki boy has in spades. Of course, there are other reasons that you were chosen and why Rias rejects you. You're aware of these things after observing him... are you jealous of the boy?" Lord Phenex didn't tell a lie to his son. He was very honest, though he did make sure to leave out some information about his own personal opinions.

Riser grit his teeth.

"... So I really am inferior, Uzumaki... he has a strong ambition, a dream that he puts his all into working towards. I don't have any dreams, other than to complete my harem and have fun with them. Ravel is even more intelligent than Rias, and she sees his potential... but Rias should understand how much potential I have... and she still rejects me." Riser vented a couple of the feelings that he had been building up deep inside.

Naruto trained nearly every day at the Phenex Castle, and he made no secret that his goal was to rule over everything. That wasn't a lofty goal, it was a grand dream that only the chosen few would even have a chance at doing.

What was his dream?

Fuck hot girls.

"... What are you doing, you're going to hurt his confidence?" Lady Phenex whispered to her husband, who just gestured for her to be silent.

He wanted to see his son grow.

"... The Gremory bloodline in Rias has the Power of Destruction inheritted from the Bael family. That power mixed with the Phenex bloodline would produce amazingly powerful offspring. It would bring both of our bloodlines even more greatness, and she rejects that?... Does she believe my children would be inferior to those of another?" Riser didn't understand why Rias couldn't see the cold logic behind why their union would be great.

Rias had to be seeing something that he wasn't seeing.

Lord Phenex couldn't stop his smile.

"Well, she wishes to marry for love, and it's well known that young devils are often attracted to those with lots of power. She might see less potential in you than others, and just isn't attracted to you. It could also be that she doesn't wish to simply become part of your harem, something to be played with and forgotten." Lord Phenex added, and Riser nodded his head.

He came to that conclusion as well.

He was inferior, the lesser Phenex child. Even his sister had become his Bishop so that she could get a boost in power, and increase her worth a devil overall. What she had done had been part of her dream to become as great as she could be. His sister had so much more ambition than him, to the point that even though he was slightly stronger than her, once she got older than him her power would surpass him as well.

Soon, he would become the weakest Phenex child as well as the least intelligent.

'I'm a loser... my immortality isn't perfect, I've seen how it can be beaten... and if my immortality doesn't make me special, and there are things stronger than my Hellfire... then Rias really does have better options to pick from than me.' Riser grit his teeth so hard that he was sure that one of them would chip soon. His fists were bleeding from how hard he was gripping them.

"You're-"

"Cancel the arranged marraige."

"Riser!? You have been the most vocal person about this marraige, but now you are asking us to cancel it!?" Lady Phenex stood up in shock. She was shocked that her son would turn down a woman in any context, and the chance to be with the beauty of the Gremory clan was even more shocking.

They knew that Rias had little chance to beat him in the Rating Game, so he was sure to marry her soon enough.

"Your reasons?" Lord Phenex asked as he forced a frown on his face.

This was an interesting development!

Riser paused.

"Because, Rias has more potential than I do... this marraige is being done for the benefit of our families and the devil race. She doesn't love me, and she doesn't see my potential... hell, after seeing him and seeing how hard Ravel is trying to be with him... I understand how useless a marraige between myself and Rias would be right now." Riser took a deep breath after he spoke.

He was shaking in anger.

He hated what he was forced to admit.

"Right now? That is an interesting choice of words." Lord Phenex pointed out.

"The marraige between myself and Rias, I still desire it. Instead of forcing it though, I will... earn it." Riser had to force those words out. He rarely had to earn anything, over the course of his entire life these were the first times that he felt that he really needed to do something to earn anything. "I will become stronger, and I will become somebody that Rias will fall for. I'll have her for my harem, I refuse to give up the other girls I love, instead I will become somebody that Rias would be happy to join the harem of. Rias will be mine through my own actions, instead of through and arranged marraige." Riser spoke loudly.

Lord Phenex stood.

"Very well, since both Riser Phenex and Rias Gremory wish for the engagement to be cancelled, then I will inform Lord Gremory that there will be no arranged marraige! Son, I am very proud that you have come to this conclusion on your own! You are arrogant and foolish, but that isn't bad either! Today, you have gained ambition, and you realizing your own weakness has lowered your arrogance, consider today the day that I take a more active role in your training!" Lord Phenex walked towards his son, leaving his throne with a smile on his face.

Riser was stunned.

"... You'll help me train?"

"Yes, on your own you have no chance of becoming a man Rias will love. For once in your life, you have told that you have an ambition worthy of a Phenex. Getting a harem is easy, but earning love from others is much harder. You've grown as a man, so I would consider it my pride as your father to do what is in my power to help you!"

-Outside-

"Master... are you sure this is okay? You actually support this arrangement, shouldn't you step in and stop them, tell them that-"

"Be silent Caster." Naruto told Nitocris to shut up. Naruto had noticed that Riser was going to visit his parents in the castle, and based on the look on his face Naruto had assumed that something interesting was going to be said. Simple curiousity was what made him summon Caster while Ruler was testing Ravel today, since Ruler didn't seem like she would hurt Ravel it was fine.

Naruto had a small smile on his face.

"... Are you happy?"

"I can't say I'm unhappy, this might just be the best outcome for both parties. I said it before, I don't approve of Rias going against an engagement when it in the best interest of her people. Still, that doesn't mean I'm happy to see her suffer. I don't like Rias, and I don't like Riser much either... but both of them have great potential. This outcome ensures that Riser will grow stronger to be with her... and Rias now has the option to fall in love freely." Naruto stood up straighter and started to walk away from the door.

Caster walked behind him.

"... Why do you care, if you don't like either of them?"

"Because, I am the King, or have you forgotten? Even if I don't like Riser or Rias, I wish no harm to either of them. One day, I will rule over Heaven, Hell, and Earth. The happiness of my people is my happiness. The strength of my people is my strength. The enemies of my people are my enemies, and I will ensure that my people live in a glorious kingdom of gold." Naruto spoke as he gained a large grin.

Caster looked at him with her eyes widening.

Naruto's grin was different.

"... Heaven, Hell, and Earth... your people. Are you saying that..."

"Yes, Human, Devil, Fallen Angel, Angel, and God? None of that matters to me. I will rule all of existance and create a glorious kingdom, where all those with ambition and guts can obtain happiness. All people who are not my enemies, are the citizens of my kingdom, so I have no reason to object to both Riser and Rias following their ambitions so long as it is what is best for my kingdom." Naruto's grin had confidence as he spoke.

"You aren't their king yet."

"Just because they have yet to understand I am their King, doesn't mean that they aren't my people. The fact they don't realize I rule over them is not their fault, that is my fault that I haven't proven it to them. A true King isn't born into the position, a true King does a mighty feat worthy of being recognized. King Arthur pulled Caliburn from the stone, and Alexander the Great conquered half of the known world, even Nobunaga became the boss of Japan... they were recognized through their actions... and I won't be any different." Naruto spoke to Caster with a glint in his eyes.

She didn't know what to think about that glint, but she smiled and nodded her head.

"A true King of Kings."

-With Ravel-

"... Are we going to actually do a test, or just sit here?" Ravel asked Jeanne d'Arc herself, a literal saint, and she squirmed uncomfortably in her chair.

Jeanne just smiled.

"What would I test you on? You proved many things to the others, and quite honestly, I'm aware that 2 of your tests could not be passed. You're honestly striving very hard to do what is best for your people, how could I not approve of you... despite you being a devil, you're a charming girl with a lot of good in her soul." Jeanne had not problems with Ravel other than her race.

She had no need to test the girl.

"But Naruto-"

"Well, Master did order me to test you... well, how about this. I'm testing your ability to accept and shake the hand of your enemy. I am a devote believer of God's holy word, so shaking my hand would be accepting and befriending your enemy. A worthy test, correct?" Jeanne asked as she extended her hand to Ravel.

Ravel's eyes widened.

"But all the other tests-"

"Like I said Ravel, I actually approve of you. You would do Master a lot of good, unlike the others who want you to fail and make unfair tests, how about let me reward you for how hard you've tried?"

Ravel rushed forward and hugged Jeanne, who awkwardly returned the hug.

"Thank you... it's so nice to have somebody honestly on my side."

"Everyone needs an ally, a friend, a lover, or even just somebody to talk to. So, you can return the thanks by being an important person to my Master." Jeanne separated herself from Ravel awkwardly.

She didn't really like being hugged by a Devil, even if she approved of the girl.

"I will, thank you again!" Ravel bowed her head and shouted her thanks. Jeanne just dusted her clothes off and started to walk away.

She had to inform Naruto that Ravel passed her test.
