I'm Back. So I've seen seasons 9 and 11 but still can't find ten. This one-shot explores head cannons I have and is mostly Pixane fluff. Enjoy, let me know if you want a part two. Oh and I named the electric chicken.
Zane held a small shard of ice in his hand, to think of all the destruction this element of creation did. Zane sighed, he'd never forgive himself for what he did in the never realm, despite what his brothers said. It had taken him a long time to just feel comfortable using his element again. Pixal entered the room to find her boyfriend looking forlorn.
"The others have told me and Wu about what happened over in the Never realm." Said Pixal softly
"Do you think I'm a monster?" Asked Zane
"No, I do not," said Pixal
"But after all, I have done, all those I've harmed…
"Zane, listen to me, your actions before, and after that event has proved that you are not a monster, your memories were wiped, you were being controlled, those actions fall on Vex, not you. Yes, you have the power to conquer worlds, but your soul will not allow that, not without alterations. You are a good person, you are Zane," said Pixal pulling Zane close.
"40 years Pix, I was there for 40 years, I was a tyrant, how can you still care about me," asked Zane
"Because I love you, Zane, I know you better than everyone, I spent over a year in your head, I know my boyfriend." Said Pixal. Zane smiled and leaned I to her hug.
"I also know that all those powers you had over there, you still have them, but now you can use them for good. Like your dragon," said Pixal
"It was nice having a dragon that listened to me and didn't depend on my emotions to be in existence," admitted Zane.
"Do you think you still have your other powers? Lloyd said you had this stone golem that used lightning to keep itself together, by my calculations this means you might have control over these elements as well as ice." Said Pixal
"I don't want to use my element or any other against my brothers, even in training," said Zane
"Zane, they care about you, and it will worry them if you are not fighting at the level they expect you to be," said Pixal
"I do not wish to harm them, again," said Zane. Pixal hugged Zane and they stayed that way for a while.
"Zane, you are very tense right now, my scans indicate that you would feel much better if you cried," said Pixal, gently tightening her hug. Zane buried his face in her shoulder, slowly Pixal became aware of a damp feeling on her shoulder, indicating Zane was crying. She very gently began to rub his back comfortingly. Both of them were unaware that the ninja had been listening outside the door. Lloyd sighed, this was going to take a long time to heal from, for everyone.
"He better not leave again, I don't think any of us could take it again," said Jay
"I don't think I should manipulate ice again, at least not around Zane, I don't want him to feel replaced," said Nya
"I feel that would be wise, yes," said Wu, none of them would be able to handle losing Zane again, he kept everyone together. The power of the scroll was immense but as long as the heart stayed pure it was harder to corrupt the holder, but Zane's memories had been wiped and that allowed the scroll, and Vex to take hold of their beloved nindroid. The scroll had augmented the powers Zane already had, and from what Lloyd told wu of that golem he had fought, the only element of creation Zane couldn't yet control was fire, it was going to take a lot of time before Zane would ever be willing to use his powers again. Wu was grateful for Pixal, if anyone was going to be able to help Zane it was her.
"Ninja, let us leave them alone for now, Zane is more likely to push all of you away for fear of what you might think of him now, even if these thoughts are far from reality, Zane will not push Pixal away, he needs her." Said Wu
"I hate not being able to help him, I hate feeling useless every single time something happens to him," exclaimed Kai punching a wall.
"I don't want to not interact with him, he might think we're avoiding him instead of giving him space," said Lloyd, worried for his brother.
"I'm tired of not being able to help him," said Cole before knocking on the door, he heard Zane say "enter" and he went in.
"Hey buddy, all of us are worried about you, you're our brother, we want you to talk to us, it hurts us when we can't help you," said Cole, he shot Pixal a pleading look and she allowed Cole to pull Zane into a patented Cole teddy bear hug. Zane buried his face in Cole's chest, not saying anything but not wanting to let go of his brother, his warm wonderful brother. After so long in the cold, Zane wanted heat, so long without any kind of affection Zane needed this. Zane clung to Cole desperately. Cole then motioned for Kai to come in, Cole could tell Zane craved warmth, and Kai would definitely be able to help. One by one the ninja came in offering warmth and comfort to the brother who needed it more than anything in the world. The next morning Zane was out on the training course, trying to regain old skills that hadn't been used in years. He found his powers had strengthened now that he was no longer under the control of the scroll of forbidden spinjitzu. He sighed, he knew that not using his powers would be impossible, especially with how strong they were growing. Had he always had this much power or had the scroll awakened a deeper potential? Suddenly a larger burst of ice than he had intended, shot from his hand. All of a sudden a large imposing dragon made of pure ice appeared, waiting obediently for Zane's orders.
"Boreal," Zane whispered, rubbing the Dragon's snout. It acted like an overgrown dog now that the ice was no longer corrupted. Suddenly Kai came out, seeing the dragon he had just melted not even a month ago.
"Um Zane," said Kai hesitantly
"It's alright Kai, he's good now," said Zane, Kai observed as the massive dragon acted like a large puppy to Zane.
"Can we all create physical dragons?" asked Kai, rubbing Boreal's snout
"I am unsure, holding that scroll for so long allowed me to tap into abilities I didn't know were possible, I seem to have retained my abilities even after destroying the scroll," said Zane
"Hey Zane, you don't have to answer this if you don't feel comfortable but, what did it feel like? Having dominion over an entire realm, having more power than you ever imagined," asked Kai
"Boring, Vex made all the decisions, I just went along with them for the most part, all that power in the palm of my hand and no one to use it on for so long, it was maddening, more than the scroll itself whispering all the power it could give me if I just let it take over," said Zane
"What do you think about Lloyd and that Akita girl?" asked Kai
"I think our brother needs to be around more women, he tends to fall in love very quickly and hasn't ever had a proper relationship experience," said Zane
"This coming from the nindroid who fell for the first girl to scan him?" teased Kai, lightly hitting Zane's shoulder
"That's different, we also didn't jump into a relationship, and I only got entranced by her once." stammered Zane
"Sureeeee," laughed Kai
"Oh shut up, at least Pixal and I aren't stuck in the It's complicated zone like you and a certain mistress of amber," said Zane
"Shut up," laughed Kai
"Come on, let's go find that chicken, I'm sure your dragon would like a snack," said Kai
"Indeed," laughed Zane
"Boreal, patrol the mountain," Zane told the dragon, his voice taking on that commanding tone once more. Kai shivered internally at the voice.
"Come on, let's go find that chicken." laughed Kai. They found the chicken in Wu's room.
"I got this," said Zane, quickly shooting the chicken with a blast of ice and grabbing it.
"Got it," said Zane. They both ran outside with the frozen chicken.
"Boreal!" called Zane. The dragon swooped in, and Kai swore the dragon was wagging its tail. Zane tossed the frozen chicken to his loyal creation.
"Now that thing won't terrorize us anymore," said Kai.
"I hope Wu won't be mad," said Zane
"If he is I'll take the blame, I'll just say I fed it to your dragon," said Kai. Zane chuckled.
"I'm going to go find Pixal, it's been a long time since I've taken her out on a date," said Zane. He went inside and got into his nicer street clothes and called Skylor arranging a table for two. He then looked at the small box on his dresser, the box he had meant to give Pixal before he had been banished. He sighed and opened it, ensuring the silver ring that was set with ice snowflakes and sapphires with amethyst was still there. He needed her in his life forever, and he also wanted to give Jay a lesson on timing. Zane smiled as he pocketed the box, this would be the one thing this week that would go perfectly, it had to.
Pixal met Zane at the noodle house after her patrol, noticing the large ice dragon sitting observantly on the roof.
"Zane, you look different," giggled Pixal, noticing Zane's more formal attire
"I wanted to give you a special evening, one without interference," said Zane taking her hand. They enjoyed a nice meal before Zane helped her up onto Boreal and the two of them flew off through the air.
"What else do you have planned for this evening?" asked Pixal
"I've been doing some thinking and I think you have an elemental Power, otherwise you would not have been able to use the scroll, perhaps a small spar in the park?" asked Zane
"Nindroid vs Nindroid," giggled Pixal
"I figured if Jay is always getting repeatedly beat by Nya, I want to see how my girl fairs against me," smiled Zane
"Challenge accepted," laughed Pixal. They went to the park and found a nice clearing. Pixal made the first move, Zane countered, Pixal was winning till Zane caught her off guard with a kiss. Pixal blushed and scoffed with a bit of a laugh. Suddenly Zane felt an energy blast hit him.
"What was that?" asked Zane. Pixal looked at her hands and a bright pink orb appeared.
"What is this?" asked Pixal
"Neon," gasped Zane
"The noble gas?" asked Pixal
"I think it's a hybrid of light and Lightning, you can create charged blasts of Neon," said Zane
"Let us keep this a secret, for now, I rather like being samurai X and being an elemental master would mean giving that up," said Pixal
"Of course," said Zane. Pixal looked up at the starlit sky, the air was perfumed be the cherry blossoms. She didn't notice Zane getting down on one knee until she turned around. She gasped when she saw Zane holding the ring out to her.
"Pixal, you are the only person in the world who I love, when we aren't together it feels like part of me is missing, Pixal my darling, will you marry me?" asked Zane. Pixal smiled
"Of course," smiled Pixal nodding. Zane pulled her into a kiss, putting the ring on her.
"Oh Zane, it's gorgeous," gasped Pixal looking at her new ring.
"I picked it out myself, no one else knows," said Zane.
"I love you," said Pixal
"I love you too," said Zane, they hugged for a while, not wanting to let go of each other.
"Come on, we should probably head back, I'm pretty sure Wu and the others are getting worried, they don't like it when you're away for long periods of time," said Pixal.
"Yeah, I know," sighed Zane, feeling guilty again.
"Don't worry, they'll forget all about worrying when we tell them the news," said Pixal kissing him.
"Yeah," chuckled Zane. They got onto Boreal and flew off back to the monastery. Immediately Lloyd opened the door.
"WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN! WE'VE BEEN WORRIED SICK!" exclaimed Lloyd
"Sorry Lloyd, Pix and I were out on a date," said Zane. Lloyd's expression softened and looked relieved, then the others came out.
"See Lloyd, I told you they just went out for the night," said Kai. Lloyd hugged Zane tightly.
"Just tell us where you're going next time ok," said Lloyd. Suddenly Nya and Misako noticed Pixal's new ring. Nya squealed with excitement and hugged Pixal
"Oh my gosh congratulations!" said Nya
"What?" asked Kai
"Pixal and I are engaged, I proposed to her tonight," said Zane
"Showing me up huh," laughed Jay
"Thought I'd teach you a lesson on how to pick the perfect time to ask," replied Zane. Then Wu came out.
"Where is pecky?" asked Wu
"Who?" asked Lloyd
"My chicken," said Wu
"Oh um, he had a run-in with Boreal," said Kai
"Boreal?" asked Wu before Boreal landed behind him. Wagging his tail and expecting orders
"Oh," said Wu
"He's just like a big puppy when he's not trying to freeze everyone," laughed Kai
"As long as you don't make that Rock/ice lighting golem again," said Lloyd
"Wait you had a golem made of ice, rock, and lightning?" asked Jay
"Yeah," said Zane
"So you can also control lightning and earth?" asked Nya
"I guess," said Zane.
"What about the ying-yang promise, you guys kind of skipped that step," Said Jay
"No we didn't, I asked her to be my yang soon after the whole Morro situation. We just kept it to ourselves," said Zane. That night Zane was getting ready for bed when Pixal knocked on his open door.
"Master Wu thought that now that you and I are going to be married soon, it makes more sense for us to share a room," said Pixal. Zane smiled and walked over to her.
"Pix, I know you are lying, I know you just want to stay with me to ensure I don't leave again," said Zane pulling her close
"Every night I have the same nightmare, I thought maybe if I stay with you, it might not happen," said Pixal
"Of course, I would actually enjoy the company, I too have a reoccurring nightmare and having you here might help, at the very least I'd know your there so i can hold you if the nightmare happens again," said Zane
"Do you suppose Jay and Nya do this when something bad happens to either of them?" asked Pixal, climbing under the covers with Zane, feeling his arm wrap around her waist.
"Zane?" asked Pixal, confused at this action.
"Jay and Nya often do this when napping on the couch, they said it's called spooning, it's a form of cuddling, if you do not enjoy this I can stop," said Zane
"No, it's actually quite pleasant," said Pixal, moving closer into Zane's arms. For the first time since Zane had been banished, the two of them slept peacefully. Unfortunately, the comfort of each other's arms caused them to sleep through their alarm. When Jay was sent in to wake Pixal up he had nop clue where she was, she wasn't in her own bed. He thought maybe she was already up so he went in to wake up Zane. He smiled when he saw the sleeping couple. He turned off their alarm and closed the curtains, figuring sensei wouldn't mind the two hardest workings of the team sleeping a little longer after everything that had been going on. He doubted Zane had slept well since being banished, he couldn't imagine decades of being controlled by the scroll and a manipulative bastard named Vex. Wu had been thinking a lot, when Lloyd told him about the all-seeing shard of ice that Vex had, Wu wondered if Zane could make something similar for them to spy on their enemies. Jay went into the living room when the ninja were waiting.
"Well where are they?" asked Kai
"Zane and Pixal are sleeping in Zane's bed, I didn't feel right waking them up after Zane finally looks happy for the first time in so long," said Jay. Wu nodded.
"Quick question, how are we going to feed that ice dragon?" asked Cole
"His name is Boreal, and I don't know, chicken?" said Kai
"Can he make dragons for all of us?" asked Jay
"I doubt it, anything he makes will be loyal to him and only him," said Lloyd
"Awe, I want a dragon again," said Cole
"Sensei, if Zane can do all this stuff, why wasn't he the chosen one?" asked Lloyd
"I am unsure, the cloud kingdom makes, strange decisions," said Wu
"Sensei if Zane has power over three elements of creation, why doesn't he have fire as well?" asked Kai
"I do not know, but I must meditate on this, in the meantime, let your brother sleep," said Wu. Pixal's internal alarm went off, she tried to ignore it because it would mean leaving the most comfortable place she had ever been. Eventually, it got annoying and she sat up, waking Zane who looked at the time, noon.
"Why didn't they wake us?" asked Pixal
"I do not know," said Zane. They got dressed and went out to the training course
"Well look who's up," teased Kai
"Why did no one wake us?" asked Zane
"Jay was going to but apparently you two looked so comfy he decided not to and sensei told us to let you two sleep, especially after everything that's been going on this month," said Kai
"Misako is insisting on planning your wedding," said Cole
"It's going to be all over the news now, Samurai X engaged to white ninja," said Kai waving his hand through the air like a new report headline. Pixal giggled and rested her head on Zane's shoulder.
"I told her I'm taking you dress shopping, she has no sense of style," said Nya
"Considering you never wear dresses, this would be an unwise choice of action, I have already searched the inventories of all wedding dress stores in Ninjago and have already ordered the perfect one for me with all my measurements," said Pixal
"I CALL TUXEDO SHOPPING!" exclaimed Jay
"Um Jay, I don't think you've ever worn a suit," said Kai
"I don't care," said Jay
"Guys, why don't all of us go shopping," said Cole
"Um, I have already ordered all the necessary for myself and all my groomsmen, the only issue to resolve is which of you is going to be my best man," said Zane,
"What do the outfits look like?" asked Wu, curious. Zane produced a hologram, The suits were your typical black jacket tux but Zane's was a pale blue shirt with a purple tie, all the other shirts were either dark blue with a purple tie or violet purple with a blue tie, bridesmaid dresses were all long flowing purple dresses that faded to a glittering blue hem and blue sleeves. The Best man tux was just like the others but the tie was white and the shirt was dark blue. The maid of honor dress was blue fading to purple at the hem and cuffs. Pixal's dress was a beautiful long form-fitting mermaid tail style with lavender flowers patterned into the long lace train and Amethyst jewels, amethyst necklace, and sapphire stud earrings, a purple rose flower crown with sapphires and a long veil.
"The only measurements we still need to send are the ones for the best man and maid of honor. Wedding colors are blue and purple," said Pixal
"You did all this in one night?" asked Cole
"We are nindroids, it is much easier for us to find the perfect outfits and order them than it is for normal people," said Zane. The two of them walked away, a fierce rock paper clamp battle taking place over who Zane's best man would be. Pixal expected a catfight between Skylor, Nya, and Misako over the maid of honor spot.
"Pixal darling, there are fewer bridesmaids than groomsmen, how do you plan to rectify this?" asked Zane
"Well, Misako is Lloyd's mother so parents aren't excluded, I suppose Mya and Edna might be willing," said Pixal
"That works perfectly," said Zane
"Mr. Borg is sectioning off a whole floor of the building for the wedding and another for the reception," said Pixal
"Did you call him last night?" asked Zane, puzzled that they had this much done within 24 hours of becoming engaged.
"Yes, he was rather enthusiastic," said Pixal
"All that's left is the guest list and catering and the cake," said Zane
"I think Skylor might become mad if she cannot provide the catering for us, and how about you go pick out the cake with Cole, as he might become annoyed at not getting to help pick the cake," said Pixal
"I might make Cole my best man, I've always been closer to him than the others," said Zane
"I've run all possible scenarios through my database and Cole is the most logical choice," said Pixal
"And what about your maid of honor? You became quite close to Nya and Skylor over the course of the time the others and I were in the first realm," said Zane
"I may choose Nya," said Pixal
"That does make the most sense, you two do have a lot in common," said Zane. The two of them began sparing. Suddenly Pixal broke into a pink tornado, it was bright and crackling with pink electricity.
"Pix, you just did spinjitzu, How?" asked Zane
"I frequently analyze how you do it and I have been in your head when you do it, I just copied the movements I have seen so frequently," said Pixal
"What kind of spinjitzu was that?" asked Kai
"A new element," gasped Wu
"So much for keeping this a secret dear," whispered Zane
"I do not wish to become a ninja, I prefer being samurai X," said Pixal sheepishly
"We will have to make some minor adjustments to the mech but I think that's doable," said Nya
"I am not repainting the mech, Pink is not a good color for missions," said Pixal
"Hmm, have you and Zane tried combining your spinjitzu, a larger tornado would be devastating in battle," said Wu. Zane and Pixal looked at each other, they knew what the other was going to do. Suddenly a lilac tornado appeared.
"Ice and Neon," said Wu, the tornado was large and there was glowing ice everywhere.
"Jay, Nya, you two try, This is an unprecedented ability and I must see if it works on all couples where both people know spinjitzu." said Wu. Jay and Nya looked at each other
"Um Sensei, are you sure? Lightning and Water, those elements don't exactly mix," said Jay
"And yet you and Nya do, Ice is just frozen water, and Neon may be a variant of lightning, those two work well together, now I want to see if you two can do the same," said Wu. Nya and Jay looked at each other and started their spinjitzu, all of a sudden, a thunderstorm happened overhead and lightning crackled inside the raindrops as a violent blue tornado tore around the training course.
"Amazing, absolutely amazing," said Wu. Jay and Nya stopped spinning.
"Hey Kai, if you and Skylor actually become a couple maybe you'd be able to do this," said Jay. Kai tackled him.
"Have you and Pix picked a date yet?" asked Lloyd.
"Yes, 3 months from today, the only thing that needs to be done is the cake, guest list, Skylor has already insisted on providing the catering," said Zane
"So we decided that I would be your best man and Nya is the maid of honor," said Kai smuggly
"Actually, no hard feelings Kai but I want Cole as my best man, Nya will be the maid of honor though," said Zane
"ALRIGHT! I'm giving you the best bachelor party ever," said Cole
"First things first Cole, I need you to come into the city with me and help me pick out the cake," said Zane
"I will work on the guest list," said Pixal.
"We have already done so much in 24 hours, let's take a break," suggested Zane
"You're right," said Pixal.
"Speaking of which, It's almost dinner time, Zane I believe it's your turn," said Kai. Zane nodded and went inside. Boreal was at the window watching Zane cook chicken parm. The other ninja were in the living room.
"Ya know if Zane can make elemental constructs why can't we?" asked Cole. He focused on the first animal that came to mind, a puppy he had when he was a boy. Suddenly a small bark made him open his eyes, there before all of them was a little puppy made of rock.
"Sweet!" exclaimed Jay before copying Cole's actions and suddenly a blue sparking parrot appeared.
"Awe crap Jay has a bird more annoying than him," said Kai
"Ra, more annoying Ra," cawed the parrot.
"Jay I'm making something that's going to eat that bird," said Kai before a flaming cat burst to life. The cat and parrot began shooting their elements at each other, the dog started barking. Suddenly a loud roar came from outside.
"Um maybe this was a bad idea," said Cole
"Ya think?" said a scorched, muddy Nya who's hair was standing on end. The cat was now standing on Kai's head, the parrot was on Jay's shoulder and the puppy was at Cole's feet.
"That's It," said Nya, Suddenly the ice cubes in the freezer came whizzing into the room, took the shape of a dolphin and melted, there was a water dolphin now floating in mid air next to Nya
"Loopholes," said Nya. The cat jumped at the dolphin and the fight resumed. Zane came into the room to find total chaos.
"Looks like I'm not the only one who can make elemental animals," said Zane
"Zane, um could you make me a unicorn?" asked Pixal, she had been watching too many soap operas at night and now knew how to totally get Zane to do what she wanted, she used "The Eyes". Zane waved his hand and a loud whiny sounded from the courtyard. Pixal ran outside.
"Horsey Horsey Horsey," exclaimed Pixal
"Love you honey" she kissed Zane's cheek and ran outside to her new unicorn.
"Ok note to self, no more little girl doll movies for Pixal," said Zane
"Did she do something with her programming?" asked Nya
"Yeah, adorable wife comic strip code," said Zane
"Awe, I love that comic," said Nya. A few months passed and it was time for the wedding, Zane was a bundle of nerves but Cole kept him calm.
"Don't worry about this buddy, nothing's going to happen," said Cole.
"I hope you're right," said Zane. Pixal walked in, Borg leading her down the aisles, she looked like a goddess in Zane's opinion. The ceremony was long, and the only issue came at the reception when Karloff got into a food fight with Kai. That night Zane and Pixal stayed on the bounty instead of the monastery. Ever since getting his cat Kai never used blankets and was never cold. Ninjago was at peace until the next great evil rose. Pixal and Zane had twin girls. Cookie and Hexadecimal. They both became the new mistresses of Ice and Neon, taught the ways of the ninja by grandpa Wu and uncle Lloyd. Hexadecimal became the Pink Ninja of Neon and Cookie was the new white ninja of Ice. They were ten before aunty Nya and Uncle Jay got married. Their mission, protect Ninjago and all the realms of creation. But what challenges await them?
