"I swear, I could kill you where you stand, Rosalie Hale," I growl the second we're out of earshot.

She just laughs her stupid head off and orders the mozzarella sticks I never wanted. I just needed an excuse to get her away from the group before she divulged my biggest secret.

"Come on, Bella. I wouldn't throw you under the bus."

I pinch her arm hard enough to leave a bruise, and she hisses, rubbing the spot.

"I'm serious. Your secret crush on Edward is safe. I wouldn't do that to you."

I look back at the group and find him staring right at us.

Rose sighs. "The two of you need to just admit that you like each other and put us all out of our misery."

I glare. "Edward doesn't like me."

She rolls her eyes.

"The dude barely tolerates me," I exclaim.

"Fuckin'-A, Bella. I swear for someone so smart, you can be such a complete dumbass."

"He doesn't like me!"

"Then why is he still staring at you?"

I look back, and she's right. Edward is still watching us. He's biting his lip with his head cocked to the side like he's trying to figure out the answer to a complex riddle.

"He's been watching you and trying to work up the courage to talk to you for months," Rose says. "I know for a fact he's just scared that he'll embarrass himself around you."

"How could you know that?"

"Jesus Christ." She throws her hands in the air dramatically. "I'm dating his best friend. I get the lowdown on everything Edward Cullen and just about everyone on the track team. Trust me when I say this. Edward Cullen is ass over elbows crushing on you."

I scoff. There's no freaking way.

"Also, steer clear of Newton. The guy is a full-on creep, and he's got his sights set on you."

"Ew."

Rosalie nods, and I look back at the group.

Edward immediately diverts his gaze to his plate.

"He's a sweet guy, Bella. He's always been shy, but according to Em, you intimidate him."

"Why?"

"Fuck if I know." She grabs our cheese sticks and leaves me at the concession stand.

I never thought bowling night would be so informative.
