It's a tight squeeze. We're crammed together inside an old school photo booth hidden in the arcade's corner. I only had three tokens left.
I beat her in air hockey, and then she schooled me in Pac-Man. After I lost twice, she stood next to me, covered my hand on the toggle with hers, and told me all the secrets and tricks of the game while guiding me. Her hand was warm, and she smelled so delicious I honestly can't recall a word she said.
She makes me dizzy.
Once we were finished with the games, we weighed our options. With three tokens, we could either play a round of pinball or … Bella shoved me inside the booth, and then squeezed in next to me.
"I've always wanted to do this," she cheers, plucking the tokens out of my hand and putting them in the machine.
"You've never done this?"
Bella giggles. "Never felt the need until now. Three tokens equals three pictures, so let's make 'em count."
The small screen counts down from five.
"Funny faces!" Bella squeals, and then pulls off a quirky look—cross-eyed and her tongue sticking out.
She's still beautiful, even when she looks absolutely ridiculous.
The camera flashes, and I've missed my chance because I'm still looking at her. Still trying to figure out why Bella Swan has chosen me, of all people, to spend time away from the group with.
"Come on, Edward." She bumps shoulders with me. "Try again."
Laughing, I hold my breath and puff out my cheeks. I take a page out of her book and cross my eyes until the buzzer goes off, and the moment is captured on film.
"There you go." She presses the button, and the countdown starts once again. "Last one. What should we do?"
We only have seconds. I panic.
"I don't know," I choke out.
"Do you trust me?" Bella asks quickly, looking up from the screen.
"What?"
The timer buzzes, and Bella reaches up and presses her lips to mine just as the camera flashes.
I never thought girls' lips would be so soft.
