Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 3 of Forever and Always. I do apologize for taking so long getting new chapters up, but I'm trying the best I can to keep up with all of these chapters and stories. So they'll be slowly updated just due to the fact that I'm writing so many at once, but once stories are finished it might take me a little time to get the next part out. So I do apologize deeply. I was hoping to get this out before the season finale of Supernatural, but sadly I couldn't do it for some reason. I promise that I will update a lot more often with the stories that you guys love. I'll try to update each one as quickly as I can. Which probably means that I will be working non stop on each fic trying to get the next part out. And this time I'm going to make sure that I won't be doing what I just pretty much did to myself with all the fics that I have up on here. So I think that I'll try to do installments of each one. Like start with the next part and go from there, but I'm going to update the ones that I have and give y'all time to enjoy it. I hope you guys enjoy this next chapter.
Chapter 3
Wendigo's Are Dangerous
Angelique looked out the window with her brows furrowed together as Dean drove down the road towards their next place, where John had left a message to Dean about. Colorado, deep into the woods. She moved her head when she heard Sam's heart rate pick up in fear. Her dead heart clenched in her chest when she saw Sam jerking awake. She swallowed the lump in her throat, in all her years of life, she didn't know how to comfort Sam.
She knew that he had lost the love of his life, Jess and Angelique knew a few things about death, but every time she tried for the last week, Sam would weakly shoot her down. Which hurt the most that Sam didn't want anyone to try to help him through the pain he had in his heart.
Sam rubbed his eyes after blinking.
Dean looked over at his younger brother, concerned. He didn't want Sam to lose himself in grief, by pushing people away. "You okay?" Dean asked hoping that Sam wouldn't deflect the question so easily.
Sam glanced over to his brother before looking away missing the worried concerned look from Angelique. "Yeah, I'm fine." Sam said, lying softly. He couldn't bring himself to tell Dean and Angelique that he was still haunted by knowing that he probably had gotten his girlfriend killed.
Dean took a breath before nodding his head, knowing that his brother wasn't going to admit the truth that he was still having nightmares about what had happened to Jess. He didn't blame Sam for how he felt, he just wished he knew how to help his younger brother. "Another nightmare?" Dean asked knowing that was very true.
Sam cleared his throat looking away from his older brother, gripping his knees tightly with his hands causing his knuckles to go white.
Dean pursed his lips together as he looked over at Sam out of the corner of his eyes. "You wanna drive for a while?"
Sam let out a laugh of disbelief causing Angelique to look up from the backseat also in disbelief. "Dean, your whole life you never once asked me that."
"Just thought you might want to. Never mind." Dean said letting out a breath knowing that Sam wouldn't willingly drive the car, even though he had offered.
"Look, man, you're worried about me." Sam admitted softly knowing that Dean and Angelique were both worried about him but he couldn't let them worry about him. He knew that he needed to find the killer of his girlfriend and his dad was the only way that he knew would hopefully get the answers he was looking for. "I get it, and thank you, but I'm perfectly okay."
"Sam…" Angelique said softly knowing that it would get the younger Winchester's attention. She reached up touching his arm once he turned to look at her. "You're far from okay."
Sam's jaw ticked a little bit. "I'm fine. Honest, Angelique… I'm okay."
Dean hummed at what his brother said causing Sam to look back at him.
Angelique took a soft breath putting her hand back down on her lap joining the other. She gripped her hands together tightly. She never had expected to see Sam this way. It had been almost 22 years and the last time she had seen something like that was when John had lost Mary.
Sam reached grabbing the map that was on the dashboard. "All right, where are we?"
Dean let out a soft breath. "We are just outside of Grand Junction."
Sam folded the map down, which was of Colorado and had a large X labeled to were they were to go. "You know what? Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon."
Angelique pursed her lips together knowing the dread that John's youngest was feeling. They had been there for a week digging trying to come up with something and they couldn't find what had happened.
"Sam, we dug around there for a week. We came up with nothing. Angelique was right. If you wanna find the thing that killed Jessica—"
"We gotta find Dad first." Sam said, cutting off Dean.
Angelique moved some resting her arms on the back of the front seat. "He can't be far…" Angelique said letting out a soft breath. "Although… his disappearing act… and this thing coming back after 20 years… I don't think it is a coincidence." She ran her hand through her hair before rubbing her temples.
Sam looked over at his shoulder at Angelique. He had forgotten she was there 20 some years ago when that thing took their mother. He knew that she knew more than what she was letting on, and it hurt to know that she wasn't really telling them fully what was going on. But knowing her all his life, she had done nothing to make him not trust her.
"Dad will have answers. He'll know what to do." Dean said softly knowing that Angelique was right with what she had said.
"It's weird, man. These coordinates he left us. This Blackwater Ridge."
"What about it?"
"There's nothing there. It's just woods." Sam said as he put the map down on his lap letting out a breath. "Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?"
Dean drove past a sign that said 'Welcome to Lost Creek Colorado National Forest'.
"Perhaps the two of you go into the ranger station." Angelique said tiredly as she leaned against her arms looking at the two boys.
"Angelique… are you sure?" Dean questioned looking back at her in the rear view mirror. He saw the tired look on her face and knew that this was hard on her. Perhaps harder than what he had let on to the brothers.
Angelique looked at the older brother. "Yes, I'm sure." She told him softly. She knew that the older brother was worried about her. She normally slept during the day, but here she was in the car. She needed the sleep instead of having someone staring at her for looking so tired.
Sam nodded his head and looked at Dean before the two of them got out of the car. He pursed his lips together worried about Angelique as she slowly laid down in the backseat of the car covering her eyes with sunglasses.

Angelique slowly opened her eyes hearing the boys leaving the ranger station. She slowly sat up on the back seat letting out a breath rubbing underneath her dark sunglasses.
"What, are you cruising for a hookup or something?" Sam complained as they walked to the car.
"What do you mean?"
"The coordinates point to Blackwater Ridge, so what are we waiting for? Let's just go find Dad. I mean, why even talk to this girl?"
Angelique let out a breath as she heard them stop outside of the car. She shook her head lightly there was never a dull day around the two brothers, and she had to admit that she missed being around it, but it was now becoming clear that this was going to be a daily thing between the two of them due to Sam being hurt from losing his girlfriend and so much more. And it worried her to the core that Sam was in a tailspin. Her dead heart gripped inside of her chest in concern.
"I don't know, maybe we should know what we're walking into before we actually walk into it?"
Sam looked at Dean with a pointed look. "What?"
"Since when are you all shoot first, ask questions later, anyway?" Dean questioned raising his brow as he looked at Sam.
Angelique poked her head out the window tilting her head a little wondering why Sam was changing how he did things out on a hunt.
"Since now." Sam said looking away from Dean crossing his arms.
Angelique shook her head softly, her brown hair bouncing as she did so. "Come on you two. You two are acting like wee kids acting the way you are right now. Dean you were right to check to see what we're going into." She said scolding both brothers seeing them both freeze from the fight that they were having.
Sam turned to Angelique, his jaw dropping some. His mouth went to move to make a statement and was hushed by Angelique's pale hand.
"Sam I know that you want to hunt and find your dad, but we have to help with this first. You used to be very good with this. Don't let the death of Jessica cloud your mind alright?" She questioned her brown eyes locking with his hazel eyes.
Sam looked down pursing his lips together in worry as he heard the car door opening. He let out a shaky breath as he went to get into the car. His heart twisted in realization that Angelique was right. She had never steered him wrong in the past, why would she start now? He let out a breath as he got into the front seat with Dean.
Angelique let out a soft breath running her hand through her hair closing her eyes. She should've kept a closer eye on Sam and she felt like she had let him down by not being there watching him like she had promised Henry all those years ago to watch John, and promising John that she would watch over the boys like she had done before.
Dean started the car up looking into the rearview mirror seeing the depressed look on Angelique's face. "Angel…" He said softly causing her to crack her eyes open to look at him.
"What?" She asked softly as she situated herself to try and be more comfortable than what she was on the back seat.
"You okay? Is it close to time for you to eat?" His concern showed deeply on his face.
Angelique let out a soft chuckle before running her hand through her hair. "No, it's not time for that Dean. I'll let you know if I need to eat." She told him softly, giving him a reassuring smile so he didn't worry about her. But she knew deep down that they both worried for her.

Dean, Sam, and Angelique got out of the car and walked towards the house.
Angelique pulled her sunglasses down over her eyes as she walked with the two brothers. She wanted to yell at the both of them because when they headed over here to talk to Haley Collins they bickered the whole way which was rather unnerving.
Dean knocked on the door and stuck his hands in his pockets.
A young woman with dark hair opened the door seeing 3 strangers on her doorstep.
"You must be Haley Collins. I'm Dean, this is Sam, and this is Angel, we're, ah, we're rangers with the Park Service. Ranger Wilkinson sent us over. He wanted us to ask a few questions about your brother Tommy." Dean said as he gave her a charming Winchester smile.
Haley hesitated before replying. "Lemme see some ID."
Dean pulled out a fake id that had the name 'Samuel Cole' and held it up against the screen for Haley to look at which caused Dean to smile.
Haley opened the door for the three of them. "Come on in."
"Thanks." Dean said with a smile.
Haley noticed the car that they had arrived in. "That yours?"
"Yeah."
Sam and Angelique looked back at the Impala before going inside.
"Nice car." Haley said before turning to lead them into the kitchen where her little brother sat at the table on a laptop.
Angelique slowly removed her sunglasses looking around blinking a few times to adjust to the light. She shook her head when she looked over to Dean who was mouthing something to Sam which caused him to roll his eyes.
"So if Tommy's not due back for a while, how do you know something's wrong?" Sam questioned as he looked over at Haley who was coming back into the dining room with a bowl in her hands which she carefully placed onto the table.
"He checks in every day by cell. He emails, photos, stupid little videos—we haven't heard anything in over three days now." Haley explained to the three of them.
"Well, maybe he can't get cell reception."
"He's got a satellite phone, too."
"Could it be he's just having fun and forgot to check in?" Dean questioned hoping that was the case and not the reason for why the three of them were there in the first place.
"He wouldn't do that." Ben said, finally speaking up causing Dean to look at him. He quickly looked away, biting his lower lip softly.
Haley put more food down onto the table looking at the three of them. "Our parents are gone. It's just my two brothers and me. We all keep pretty close tabs on each other."
"Can I see the pictures he sent you?" Sam questioned looking over at Haley.
"Yeah." Haley said as she went over to the laptop and brought up the photos of her brother. "That's Tommy." She clicked twice and another photo popped up and then a still frame of a latest video that Tommy had sent to them.
"Hey Haley, day six, we're still out near Blackwater Ridge. We're fine, keeping safe, so don't worry, okay? Talk to you tomorrow."
Sam spotted a shadow flicking past during the video.
Angelique looked over Sam's shoulder and saw the same shadow causing her brow to quirk in concern. Whatever it was wasn't a good sign, with how fast that it was moving.
"Well, we'll find your brother. We're heading out to Blackwater Ridge first thing." Dean said looking at Haley hoping that she wouldn't be going out into the wilderness. He wanted him, Sam, and Angelique to deal with whatever was going on and not have an innocent in the way of the hunt.
"Then maybe I'll see you there. Look, I can't sit around here anymore. So I hired a guy. I'm heading out in the morning, and I'm gonna find Tommy myself." Haley said as she crossed her arms looking at the three of them.
"I think I know how you feel."
"Hey, do you mind forwarding these to me?" Sam questioned as he looked up from the laptop.
"Sure."
"Thank you." Angelique said looking at Haley which caused the young woman to nod her head.
SPNSPN
Sam, Dean and Angelique sat down at one of the empty tables in the loud bar.
"So, Blackwater Ridge doesn't get a lot of traffic. Local campers, mostly. But still, this past April, two hikers went missing out there. They were never found." Sam said as he pulled out his father's journal.
"Any before that?" Dean questioned as he looked over at Sam trying his best to pay attention to what they were doing.
Sam pulled out newspaper articles to show Dean and Angelique.
Angelique shifted closer to look at the articles. Her brow rose as she noticed that something was indeed up in Blackwater Ridge and whatever it was, it wasn't going to be something easily solved.
"Yeah, in 1982, eight different people all vanished in the same year. Authorities said it was a grizzly attack."
Dean read the headline in The Lost Creek Gazette and his brow rose.
Sam pulled out his laptop and put it onto the table in front of him. "And again in 1959 and again before that in 1936." Sam said as he opened his laptop up revealing that he had a window up of Tom's video. "Every twenty-three years, just like clockwork. Okay. Watch this. Here's a clincher. I downloaded that guy Tommy's video to the laptop. Check this out." He said as he started the video and went through three frames one at a time revealing the shadow that he had seen before.
"Do it again." Dean said as he moved in closer to the laptop to see what it was that Sam was trying to show him.
Sam repeated the three frames. "That's three frames. That's a fraction of a second. Whatever that thing is, it can move."
Dean suddenly hit Sam which caused him to look up. "Told you something weird was going on."
"Yeah." Sam said dejectedly as he closed his laptop. "I got one more thing." He handed over another newspaper article. "In 'fifty-nine one camper survived this supposed grizzly attack. Just a kid. Barely crawled out of the woods alive."
Angelique raised her brow. "A survivor… That… Something isn't right with that… A grizzly doesn't move that fast… and there are very few monsters that can do so." She said as Dean looked at the article.
"Is there a name?" Dean questioned as he looked up at Sam.
Angelique looked over at the younger brother and pursed her lips together. "If he's still alive then he can tell us what happened."
Sam swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded his head.
Angelique looked down knowing that whatever it was in those woods, it certainly wasn't one of her kind. Granted some of them were fairly fast, but not that fast and that was fairly concerning to her.
SPNSPN
Sam and Dean walked up to Mr. Shaw's home slowly.
Sam looked over at Dean. "Are you sure that Angelique was okay with us leaving her in the motel?"
Dean let out a breath as he looked at Sam. "Look, Angelique is fine, Sammy. It's not like she's on any hunter's radar. She'll be just fine. Don't worry okay?" Dean brought up his hand to knock on the door. "Besides she needs to rest. You saw how run down she was with just doing what we did today and with us going in the morning to Blackwater… she needs to be well rested."
Sam let out a soft breath and nodded his head. "Okay. If you say so, Dean."
Dean simply shook his head as the door opened revealing the very man that they needed to speak with about what was going on and what type of information that he had that would help them out in the long run.
SPNSPN
Angelique laid on the couch with her arm covering her eyes as she rested. Her flannel was unbuttoned revealing her thin frame under a white beater tank top. She shifted a bit when she heard the door open and shuffling of feet which alerted her that it was Dean coming into the room. She slowly moved her arm to sit up on the couch. She looked at him with tired brown eyes. "What did you find out?" She questioned as she rubbed her eyes.
Dean let out a breath. "It's able to open doors." He explained to her as he looked over at her. He noticed the dark circles that were under her eyes. "You should be resting."
Angelique let out a soft laugh and shook her head. "I was worried."
"About?" Dean questioned tilting his head wondering what Angelique was so worried about.
"That girl Haley… and that thing out there… don't get me wrong I understand why she wants to go and find her brother. I don't blame her on that. But whatever is in those woods… it won't be safe for her."
Dean blinked a few times. "You know how she feels?"
Angelique brought her knees up to her chest. "Yes. Granted it was years ago…" She admitted softly. "And I mean longer than 100 years ago…" She let out a soft breath.
"You were hunting for someone?" Sam questioned as he came into the room with the bag that Dean had thrown at him.
Angelique looked down, biting her lip. "I've been searching for many people." She admitted softly looking up at the two brothers. "But that story is for another time."
Dean swallowed the lump in his throat wondering who exactly she had been hunting for.
Sam went to open his mouth to say something only to have her cut him off.
"A story for another time." She told them both softly. "Not now with someone in danger."
Sam looked down before nodding his head.

Dean parked the impala causing the three people to stare.
The three of them got out of the car.
Angelique leaned in and grabbed the duffel bag before handing it to Sam. She reached onto the top of her head and pulled down her sunglasses to cover her sensitive eyes.
Dean came over to the three of them with Sam and Angelique following him. "You guys got room for two more?"
Haley crossed her arms looking at the three of them eyeing Dean with her brow quirked. "Wait, you want to come with us?"
"Who are these guys?" Roy questioned looking over at Haley.
"Apparently this is all the park service could muster up for the search and rescue."
Sam walked past them with Angelique right behind him.
"You're rangers?" Roy questioned looking at Dean.
"That's right."
"And you're hiking out in biker boots and jeans?" Haley questioned eyeing Dean's boots and jeans.
Dean looked down at what he wore. "Well, sweetheart, I don't do shorts." He said as he walked past Haley.
"What, you think this is funny? It's dangerous back country out there. Her brother might be hurt." Roy snapped looking at the three of them.
Sam turned back to look at Roy.
"Believe me, I know how dangerous it can be. We just wanna help them find their brother, that's all." Dean said as he walked past Sam and Angelique.
Angelique shook her head as she began to walk behind Dean and Sam followed behind her.
SPNSPN
The group hiked through the forest with Roy in the lead, then Dean, Haley, Ben, Sam and Angelique bringing up the back.
Dean looked over at Roy. "Roy, you said you did a little hunting."
Angelique rolled her eyes as she walked and hearing Roy's reply made her even more frustrated.
"Yeah, more than a little." Roy said proud of what he had done in his time of hunting.
"Uh-huh. What kind of furry critters do you hunt?"
"Mostly buck, sometimes bear."
Dean walked past Roy. "Tell me, uh, Bambi or Yogi ever hunt you back?"
Angelique looked up. "Dean watch…"
Roy grabbed Dean pulling him back.
Dean looked at Roy with his brow raised. "Whatcha doing, Roy?"
Roy grabbed a stick and poke the bear trap that Dean had almost stepped in.
Haley looked at Dean with her arms crossed annoyed that a ranger would know where the bear traps were in the forest.
"You should watch where you're stepping. Ranger." Roy said as he dropped the stick and retook the lead.
Dean swallowed the lump in his throat. He knew that what he just did would be a tell tale sign that he was not a ranger. "It's a bear trap."
They continued on their way and Haely caught up to Dean. "You didn't pack any provisions. You guys are carrying a duffel bag. You're not rangers." Haley said as she grabbed Dean's arm causing him to stop walking. "So who the hell are you?"
Ben walked past his sister and Dean.
Sam and Angelique slowed and looked at Dean. They could tell by his expression that he was going to just talk a tiny bit. They walked past Dean and Haley.
Sam looked over at Angelique as she walked. "Angelique…"
She turned her head to look at him. "What is it Sam?" She questioned softly as they walked through the rough terrain.
"You said you knew how Haley felt…"
Angelique let out a soft breath and grabbed his arm stopping him from walking. "Sam… I will tell you and Dean that story soon. I promise alright? I just think that this isn't the right time… not with her brother lost." Angelique said as she looked up into his eyes. "I promise."
Sam took a soft breath. "Okay." He said softly as he moved away from her.
Angelique let out a soft breath as she watched him walk away from her.
SPNSPN
Roy led the way followed by Sam, Ben, Angelique, Haley and Dean. This is it. Blackwater Ridge."
Sam walked past Roy looking around. "What coordinates are we at?"
Angelique looked around her brows furrowed as she listened to hear anything that was around them. Her undead heart sunk, there was no sound which caused her to worry her lower lip between her human teeth.
Roy pulled out his GPS which gave him the coordinates N 350 45 383, W 1100 00.55. "Thirty-five and minus one-eleven."
Dean came over to Sam and Angelique. He listened closely, hearing nothing. "You hear that?"
"Yeah. Not even crickets." Sam confirmed looking around.
"I'm gonna go take a look around." Roy told the group as he went to move on.
"You shouldn't go off by yourself." Sam called out looking over at Roy.
"That's sweet. Don't worry about me." Roy waved his gun and then suddenly pushed through to retake the lead to look around.
Dean turned to Sam and Angelique and to the two Collin siblings that had caught up to them. "All right, everybody stays together. Let's go."
Angelique let out a breath turning her head to where Roy had gone to. "He has a death wish doesn't he?" She questioned Sam and Dean softly.
"Don't worry we'll be able to protect them all." Dean told her softly.
Angelique simply shook her head. She had a feeling whatever was around it was going to target them since they were in its territory and she wouldn't doubt that Roy would be the first to end up dead out of their group.
SPNSPN
Sam, Dean, Ben, Haley, and Angelique were looking around near a large rock before being suddenly interrupted from what they were doing.
"Haley! Over here!" Roy yelled out for them.
Haley ran towards where Roy's voice had come from, followed by the others closely. They came to a halt suddenly. Haley looked around her eyes widened looking around. "Oh my God."
Angelique looked at the torn open tents and bloody and the supplies were scattered. Her nose twitched at the coppery smell of blood.
"Looks like a grizzly." Roy said as he looked around at the mess that had been made.
Dean and Haley looked around the area.
"Tommy?" Haley called out as she took off her backpack and walked through the campsite. "Tommy!"
Sam moved quickly to catch up with Haley. "Shh."
"Tommy!"
"Shh-hh-hh!"
"Why?" Haley snapped looking over at him, bewildered of why Sam wanted her to be silent.
"Something might still be out there." Sam explained calmly as he looked around.
"Sam! Angelique!"
Sam and Angelique walked over to where Dean was, snapping a stick crouching down next to the older Winchester brother.
"The bodies were dragged from the campsite. But here, the tracks just vanish. That's weird."
The three of them stood up.
"I'll tell you what, that's no skinwalker or black dog." Dean said before going back to the campsite.
Angelique took a breath and slowly followed Sam behind Dean.
Dean crouched next to Haley who held her brother's phone in her hands crying. "Hey, he could still be alive."
Haley looked at Dean giving him a look.
"Help! Help!" Someone yelled out causing everyone to run to the aid of the shouter. "Help! Somebody!"
They looked around finding no one.
Haley panted as she continued to look around. "It seemed like it was coming from around here, didn't it?"
They listened and heard nothing.
"Everybody back to camp." Sam ordered as they began to rush back to the camp.
Angelique let out a groan as she saw that all of the supplies that they had brought with them were now missing.
"Our packs!" Haley said in shock.
"So much for my GPS and my satellite phone." Roy said, letting out a breath.
"What the hell is going on?"
"It's smart. It wants to cut us off so we can't call for help." Sam explained to them.
"You mean someone, some nutjob out there just stole all our gear." Roy said looking at Sam.
Angelique rolled her eyes as Sam came over to where Dean and her were standing.
"I need to speak with you. In private. The both of you."
Angelique followed the two brothers away from the group.
"Good. Let me see Dad's journal." Sam said, holding out his hand.
Dean reached into his jacket and pulled it out before handing it over to Sam.
Sam opened the journal and began to flip through the pages until he found the page that he was looking for. "All right, check that out." Sam said pointing to a First Nations-style drawing of a figure.
"Oh come on, wendigos are in the Minnesota woods or, or northern Michigan. I've never even heard of one this far west."
"It's not quite impossible Dean." Angelique said looking over at the older brother.
"Think about it, Dean, the claws, the way it can mimic a human voice." Sam said as he looked up at Dean.
"Great." Dean said groaning as he took out his pistol. "Well then this is useless."
Sam handed Dean back their father's journal and then walked past Dean, before stopping for a moment. "We gotta get these people to safety."
"I wholeheartedly agree with that Sam, but do you really think…" She trailed off as Sam walked away from them. She let out a breath rubbing her mouth softly.
Dean put his hand on her shoulder. "You know he won't listen."
Angelique looked over her shoulder at him. "Yes, he's very stubborn." She shook her head letting out a breath. "Just like you and John."
Dean cleared his throat.
"Come on let's go before he causes a fight."
Dean nodded his head following her to where Sam was.
"All right, listen up, it's time to go. Things have gotten...more complicated." Sam told the group knowing that they probably weren't going to like this idea too much, but he needed to get them to safety.
"What?" Haley questioned her brows raising. She couldn't believe that someone was ordering them to leave.
"Kid, don't worry. Whatever's out there, I think I can handle it." Roy said looking over at the younger Winchester brother.
"It's not me I'm worried about. If you shoot this thing, you're just gonna make it mad. We have to leave. Now."
"One, you're talking nonsense. Two, you're in no position to give anybody orders."
Dean looked over at the two of them. "Relax."
"We never should have let you come out here in the first place, all right? I'm trying to protect you."
Roy got right into Sam's face.
Angelique to let out a soft groan rubbing her face in agitation. This wasn't going to get them anywhere quick.
"You protect me? I was hunting these woods when your mommy was still kissing you good night."
"Yeah? It's a damn near perfect hunter. It's smarter than you, and it's gonna hunt you down and eat you alive unless we get your stupid sorry ass out of here."
Roy let out a laugh mocking what Sam had said. He didn't believe a word of it. "You know you're crazy, right?"
"Yeah? You ever hunt a wen—"
Dean quickly pushed Sam back.
Angelique let out a breath pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Roy!" Haley yelled.
"Chill out." Dean told his brother softly.
"Stop. Stop it. Everybody just stop. Look. Tommy might still be alive. And I'm not leaving here without him." Haley demanded looking at them.
"It's getting late. This thing is a good hunter in the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night. We'll never beat it, not in the dark. We need to settle in and protect ourselves." Dean said, letting out a breath. "Even with Angelique here there is no way to beat it…"
Angelique looked at Dean. "Oh wow, thanks for the encouragement." She said letting out a scoff as she moved away from him. "What you'll need will be in your father's journal."
Haley looked over at Dean. "How?"
SPNSPN
The group had built a campfire, as Dean drew something in the dirt around their campsite and Haley poked at the fire.
Haley looked over at Dean. "One more time, that's—"
"Anasazi symbols. It's for protection. The wendigo can't cross over them." Dean said as he looked over at her.
Roy laughed putting his gun over his shoulder.
"Nobody likes a skeptic, Roy." Dean said as he got up to his feet walking over to his where Sam was.
Haley looked over at Angelique. "You seem to know those two boys rather well."
Angelique looked over at her pushing her sunglasses to the top of her head. "Oh I've known those two for a long time." She admitted softly as she leaned back some. She looked over at the brothers. "They don't realize how smart they are doing this… helping you out with finding your brother."
"You think Tommy's still alive?"
Angelique took a breath before looking over at her.
"Do you?" She asked softly again.
Angelique let out a soft breath. "I think he is. With what is out there… his chances of being alive is good." She admitted softly. She looked over seeing Dean and Sam looking over to where she was with Haley and Ben. She bit her lip softly hoping that Dean was calming down Sam.
A twig snapped alerting the three of them that the wendigo was back.
Angelique got up to her feet reaching for her gun that she had hidden. It was a gun that John had given to her as a gift one year. The smooth ivory handle rested in her hand easily.
"Help me! Please!"
Angelique watched out of the corner of her eyes seeing Dean stand up readying his gun.
"Help!"
Sam shined his flashlight around.
"He's trying to draw us out. Just stay cool, stay put." Dean called out as he looked at the group.
"Inside the magic circle?" Roy questioned with a scoff.
"Oh bloody hell, won't you shut up?" Angelique said as she looked over at Roy with narrowed eyes.
"Help! Help me!"
Suddenly a loud growl was heard causing Roy to point his gun at the source of the growl. "Okay, that's no grizzly."
Haley kneeled down next to Ben trying her best to calm him. "It's okay. You'll be all right, I promise."
Something rushed past causing Haley to shriek.
Angelique winced at the high pitch noise of Haley's shriek.
"It's here." Sam said, looking around pursing his lips together into a thin line in agitation. He kind of wished that they had been able to get out of there before the wendigo had shown up.
Roy fired his gun at the rustling and did it again. He jumped up in delight. "I hit it!" Roy said, taking off to go and see what he had hit.
"Roy, no! Roy!" Dean looked over to Haley and Ben. "Don't move."
"Boys just go. I'll stay here with them." Angelique said cooly as she noticed Haley's weapon was a stick that was burning at the end.
Dean and Sam nodded their heads before leaving the three of them behind.
Angelique took a breath hiding her gun in the waistband of her pants.
Haley looked over at Angelique. "How… how would you protect us?" She questioned softly.
"I am a very good protector." She said softly as she looked over at Haley. "Those boys, I've been protecting them since they were young."
"That's not possible." Haley said, shaking her head. "You have to be around their age."
Angelique let out a soft chuckle. "Of course. I do look their age." She let out a soft breath as she wrapped her arms around her middle. "I'm much older than I look."
"How?"
"Good genetics."

Sam sat next to Angelique against a hollow tree stump. Her head on his shoulder and him holding onto his dad's journal. He played with the lanyard that was attached to it. Sam let out a soft breath as he looked over to the sleeping vampire that was resting her head on his shoulder. He didn't blame her for being tired, but he kind of wanted to know the story of why she was so alright with hunting for Haley and Ben's brother and having two innocents with them. Sam looked over to where Dean was with Haley and Ben.
"I don't...I mean, these types of things, they aren't supposed to be real." Haley said, shaking her head.
"I wish I could tell you different." Dean said looking over at her letting out a breath.
"How do we know it's not out there watching us?"
Sam nudged Angelique awake.
"Sam?" She said sleepily.
"Come on…" He said softly.
The two of them got up to their feet.
"We don't. But we're safe for now."
"How do you know about this stuff?"
Dean pursed his lips together in thought. "Kind of runs in the family."
Sam and Angelique came over to them.
"Hey." Sam said softly as he held onto John's journal in his hands.
Haley got up to her feet.
"So we've got half a chance in the daylight. And I for one want to kill this evil son of a bitch." Sam said as he looked at them.
Dean looked at his brother. "Well, hell, you know I'm in."
Angelique looked at the two boys. "Well you know I'm in."
Sam opened up the journal to the page of the wendigo. He turned it to Haley and Ben to see. "Wendigo' is a Cree Indian word. It means 'evil that devours'."
"They're hundreds of years old. Each one was once a man. Sometimes an Indian, or other times a frontiersman or a miner or hunter." Dean explained to them.
"How's a man turn into one of those things?" Haley asked softly.
Dean picked a few things up off of the ground. "Well, it's always the same. During some harsh winter a guy finds himself starving, cut off from supplies or help. Becomes a cannibal to survive, eating other members of his tribe or camp."
"Like the Donner Party." Ben said softly, remembering his history.
"Cultures all over the world believe that eating human flesh gives a person certain abilities. Speed, strength, immortality." Sam replied telling them the information that they needed to know.
"If you eat enough of it, over years, you become this less than human thing. You're always hungry." Angelique said as she crossed her arms.
"So if that's true, how can Tommy still be alive?" Haley questioned looking at them. She was concerned that her brother wasn't alive anymore.
"You're not gonna like it." Dean glanced at Sam and Angelique before looking back at Haley.
"Tell me." Haley said softly.
"More than anything, a wendigo knows how to last long winters without food. It hibernates for years at a time, but when it's awake it keeps its victims alive. It, uh, it stores them, so it can feed whenever it wants. If your brother's alive, it's keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe. We gotta track it back there."
"And then how do we stop it?"
"Well, guns are useless, so are knives. Basically—" Dean held up the can of lighter fluid, beer bottle, and a white cloth that he had picked up. "We gotta torch the sucker."
"And torch it good." Angelique took a lighter out of her pocket. She held it out to Dean.
Dean slowly took it from her. "Thanks."
Angelique nodded her head.

Dean led them through the woods with his Molotov cocktail in his hand.
Haley followed closely behind him, then Ben, Angelique, and Sam.
They walked past many many trees with blood on them.
Angelique's nose wrinkled at the smell of the coppery blood.
Sam looked over at her in concern.

Sam led the group through the woods following the marks on the trees. "Dean. Angelique."
Dean and Angelique caught up to Sam.
"What is it?" Dean questioned his younger brother.
The three of them looked around at the trees, there were many bloody claw marks and broken branches everywhere.
"You know, I was thinking, those claw prints, so clear and distinct. They were almost too easy to follow."
Growling could be heard causing the three of them to whip around as the trees rustled.
Haley stood under a tree as blood dripped on her shirt. She noticed that there was blood on her shirt and looked up before leaping out of the way as Roy's corpse fell to where she once stood.
Dean went over to Roy's body while Sam went to check on Haley.
"You okay? You got it?" Sam questioned softly.
"His neck's broken." Dean said as he moved back.
Sam helped Haley up to her feet.
More growling was heard.
"Okay, run, run, run, run, go, go, go!" Dean yelled before everyone took off to try and get the wendigo off of their trail which wasn't going to be easy.
Ben fell on a branch that was sticking up.
Sam and Angelique hurried back to help him up onto his feet, dividing the group up.
"Come on, I gotcha, I gotcha." Sam told him softly.
"Bloody hell." Angelique said as she looked around. "We weren't supposed to split…"
Suddenly a loud scream from Haley caused them to look up.
"Oh bloody hell… "
They ran towards the noise.
"Haley?" Ben called out for his sister.
Sam stopped running almost causing Angelique to run in him. Sam picked up Dean's Moloto cocktail, the bottle broke from its fall to the ground. "Dean!"
Angelique looked around in worry.
SPNSPN
Ben, Sam and Angelique walked through the wooded area trying to find signs that would lead them to Dean and Haley.
Ben looked over at the two adults that were with him. "If it keeps its victims alive, why would it kill Roy?"
"Honestly? I think because Roy shot at it, pissed it off." Sam said looking over at Ben.
Angelique nodded her head. "And shooting at a wendigo isn't the brightest thing to do."
Ben noticed something on the ground and noticed that there were a trail of M&Ms. He picked one up off of the ground. "They went this way."
Sam and Angelique caught up to Ben, who then handed over the M&M to Sam.
Sam let out a laugh shaking his head. "It's better than breadcrumbs." Sam said as he tossed the M&M away.
The three of them followed the trail of M&Ms until they came to a mine entrance marked with a sign 'WARNING! DANGER! DO NOT ENTER EXTREMELY TOXIC MATERIAL'
Sam looked over at Ben and Angelique before shrugging his shoulders and going inside of the mine.
Angelique simply shook her head and followed Sam and Ben into the mine. She moved her sunglasses to the top of her head. She smelled the air as she walked with them.
Sam shined the flashlight ahead of them so they could see where they were going. He heard growling suddenly which caused him to shut off the light, pulling Ben against the wall.
Angelique pressed herself against the wall closing her eyes as the wendigo came towards them.
Sam quickly put his hand over Ben's mouth before he could scream giving away their position.
Angelique slowly poked her head around the corner seeing that the wendigo went in another direction. She jerked her head telling them that the coast was clear. She sniffed the air lightly scenting the smell of coppery blood in the air.
The floorboards creaked as Sam, Ben and Angelique walked before they gave way and caused the three of them to fall through the boards. They landed in a pile of bones that were below them.
Ben spotted a few skulls before he jumped away in shock.
"Hey, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay." Sam told him as he got up off of the bones.
Angelique got up to her feet dusting off the jeans that she wore. She looked around for her sunglasses while Sam and Ben went to Dean and Haley who were hanging by their wrists. She found her sunglasses and picked them up. She let out a groan when she noticed that one of the lenses was broken. She turned and went over to where Ben and Sam were getting Haley and Dean down. She wrapped her arm around Dean helping Sam bring him over to an empty patch on the floor.
Sam looked at Dean as he made noises of pain. "You sure you're all right?"
Dean grimaced as he looked up at Sam. "Yeah. Yep. Where is he?"
"He's gone for now." Angelique said as she checked Dean over for injuries.
Haley divested herself of the rope that was around her wrists. She got up to her feet and saw her brother hanging and tears came to her eyes. "Tommy…" Haley went over to him and touched his cheek.
Tom's head jerked up causing his sister to jump back and shriek.
She quickly turned to Sam and Angelique. "Cut him down!"
Angelique nudged Sam to go and cut down Tommy. Angelique lightly touched Dean's cheek watching him wince. "You know you don't have to lie to us, Dean." She said softly.
"I'm fine, honest." Dean said as he got up to his feet. He noticed something on the ground. He went over to it and picked up some flare guns. "Check it out."
Angelique let out a soft chuckle.
"Flare guns. Those'll work." Sam said with a grin.
Dean laughed and twirled the guns.
"Dean are you trying to hurt one of us?" Angelique said as she raised her brow.
Dean flushed and stopped twirling the guns.
"Come on let's get out of here and kill that thing." She said as she slowly took one of the flare guns from Dean.
They begin to walk down the tunnel, Dean, Sam and Angelique lead the way armed with the flare guns and Haley and Ben supporting their brother who was limping.
Suddenly growling was heard which caused Dean, Sam, and Angelique to look up.
"Looks like someone's home for supper." Dean said, letting out a breath.
"We'll never outrun it." Haley said fear gripping her heart.
Dean looked back at Sam and Angelique. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
Angelique nodded her head reluctantly.
"Yeah, I think so." Sam said softly knowing that this next thing that they were going to do was fairly risky.
"All right, listen to me. Stay with Sam and Angelique. They're gonna get you out of here."
Haley looked over at Dean and her eyes widened in surprise. "What are you gonna do?"
Dean winked and started to walk away from them. "Chow time, you freaky bastard! Yeah, that's right, bring it on, baby, I taste good." Dean yelled knowing that this would get the wendigo to go after him.
Angelique let out a breath waiting for Dean to become quiet.
Sam looked back at the rest of the group. "All right, come on! Hurry!"
The Collinese followed Sam and Angelique down the tunnel to get away from the wendigo safely.
Angelique took a breath as she followed Sam down the tunnel only hoping that Dean was alright with what he was doing.
They hurried down the tunnel before growling caused them to stop in their tracks.
Sam pointed his gun at it and then lowered it before turning to the Collineses and Angelique. "Get him outta here."
"Sam, no." Haley said softly.
"Go! Go! Go!"
"Come on you three." Angelique said looking at the Collineses.
"Come on, Haley!" Ben said, pleading with his sister.
The four of them made their way through the mine tunnel.
Angelique led them through the tunnels looking around with her eyes wide trying to make sure that the wendigo wasn't following them. She froze when she heard the flare gun go off and then loud footsteps of Sam moving. She knew what it meant, Sam missed his shot. She turned her head seeing Sam coming into view.
"Sam!" Haley called out as Sam caught up to them.
"Come on, hurry, hurry, hurry." Sam said as he rushed past them.
They ran to the end of the tunnel with the wendigo right behind them.
"Get behind me." Sam ordered, as the three Collineses hid behind Sam.
Angelique stood beside Sam tossing her useless flare gun to the ground. She changed her stance some to protect the Collineses even more than what they were.
The wendigo took it's time coming towards them.
"Hey!" Dean shouted behind the wendigo causing it to turn around. Dean fired, shooting it right in the stomach causing the flare to go off and it went up in flames. "Not bad, huh?"
Sam grinned at his brother.
Angelique let out a soft breath sagging against the wall some.

Angelique leaned against Dean's car letting out a soft breath with her eyes closed. She was thankful that they had gotten out of there with minimal injuries. She slowly opened her eyes up to see Sam and Dean walking their way over to the Impala.
Dean leaned on the Impala next to her and Sam. "Man, I hate camping."
"Me too."
"Same." Angelique replied looking over at the two brothers.
They listened to the ambulance driving away with their sirens on leaving the three of them alone.
Dean looked over at Sam. "Sam, you know we're gonna find Dad, right?"
Sam looked over at Dean. "eah, I know. But in the meantime? I'm driving."
Dean tossed Sam the keys.
The three of them got into the car, closing their doors almost in sync with one another.
Sam started the car up. He then backed up and went down the road.
Dean turned to look back at Angelique. "Mind telling us now?" He questioned looking at her.
Angelique let out a soft breath. "I can tell you part of it." She admitted softly. "I've been hunting for your grandfather for years…" She rubbed her mouth softly. "I haven't been able to find him. But it hasn't stopped me from searching…"
"Our grandfather left dad high and dry…" Dean said looking her dead in the eyes.
"Didn't stop me from looking. I told him I had a bad feeling, but he didn't believe me… so since that day he disappeared… I decided that I wouldn't quit hunting for him. I owe John to find him… as well as you two…"
"Angelique you don't owe us anything." Sam said as he looked at the rear view mirror at her. "If anything, we owe you for watching our backs all of these years… and dad's back too…"
Angelique looked down shyly. "I promised him that I would watch over your father… and I promised your dad I would watch over you two…"
"And you have done a wonderful job watching over the two of us, and according to dad you watched over him pretty well too."
"Sam's right you don't owe us anything. We owe you. You've protected our family for years." Dean said nodding his head in agreement to what Sam had said.
Angelique looked up at them with a look of shock on her face.
"We owe you big time, Angelique. We really do."
