Frisk walked through the Runes smiling at the many memories the walk brought back till she reached the room that held the old dummy. [Hello Human.] Crocked a Froggit that sat in the corner causing Frisk to turn in surprise only to smile.

{Hello Froggit .} Frisk signed back to the monster causing it to croak in recognition.

[I-It's You! What are you doing here? We all thought you had left this place.] It said excitedly as it leapt closer to look at Frisk who smiled and knelt down to pet the Froggit .

{I came back, and this time you will be freed.} Frisk signed to the Froggit who looked at her with a sad expression.

[Do not make promises that you can not keep.] The Frogget croaked as Frisk rose with a smile.

{ I'm not.} She signed to the Froggit who nodded and smiled sadly.

[I'll pass word to the other monsters here in the Runes to not harm you, farewell friend.] It said as it began to hop away, Frisk smiling as she watched the Froggit go before she turned and continued deeper into the Runes.

Much later Frisk stood before the large red tree and took a deep breath as she passed under it and approached the door to Toriel's Home, and her next SAVE. As she knelt down and touched the SAVE point the thought of seeing Toriel again filled her with Determination. Frisk rose and approached the doors to Home and knocked; the sound of creaking floorboards and heavy footsteps approaching could be heard from behind the door before it opened.

"Hello, can I help y-" Toriel froze as her eyes fell on Frisk who stood there calmly before slowly removing the old baseball cap that kept her face in the shadows.

"Hey mom...I-I'm Home." Frisk said as she shuffled from side top side anxiously.

Toriel stood in the doorway too shocked to do anything, her eyes wide as she stared upon Frisk. "My child...MY CHILD!" Toriel exclaims as she pulls Frisk into a bone crushing hug, tears falling down her face. Frisk smiled and hugged Toriel back as for the first time in fifteen years Frisk wasn't counting the time or how long she was standing there; she didn't need to anymore, she was finally Home.

"Come in my child, I have missed you." Toriel said as she turned and led Frisk into her home. "As you can see my child, not much has changed since you were last here." The old Boss Monster said in a kind and happy voice as the ding of a timer sounded from the kitchen causing Toriel to look in the direction.

"It seems I'm just in time for dinner." Frisk said with a faint smile. "However I wouldn't want to impose…" Frisks voice trailed off at the look that Toriel gave her.

"You will never be an inconvenience my child." Toriel scolded, causing Frisk to nod quickly and follow Toriel into the kitchen. As Toriel got the food, Frisk went about setting the table and answering the many questions Toriel asked her about what she had been doing since she had departed; however once they sat down to eat a silence fell over them, though it was finally broken by Toriel speaking. "You will not stay here will you child?" She asked, her voice betraying her sadness.

"No." Frisk replied not looking up from her food. "I'm going all the way to the capital, to see Asgore." She saids hesitantly.

"Why did you come back to this place my child? Why would you return to this prison?" Toriel asked her voice hard but sad at the same time.

Frisk sat silent for what seemed like a long time looking down at her food before looking up at Toriel, red tears slowly falling from her eyes. "I made a promise mom, a promise to a friend and while I've come to hate making promises I always keep them." She replied quietly

Toriel gasped and quickly ran over to Frisk at the sight of the tears, her hand trailing over them as she felt around the eye. "My child are you alright?!" She asked as she looked over their face for any injuries.

"S-Sorry mom… I-I'm ok." Frisk replied as she pulled away from the old goat monster and wiped the tears from her eyes with a smile.

"Frisk humans do not cry blood." Toriel said in a firm voice as she kept fussing over Frisk. "Now show me where you are hurt." She said in a motherly commanding voice.

"It's not blood mom, it's my magic." Frisk mumbled causing Torie to freeze up.

"Frisk, humans do not have such concentrated amounts of magic inside them." Toriel said. "At least not enough to where it would appear in a liquid state when you cry." She corrected herself with concern clear on her face.

Frisk shook her head. "Humans can't, I can." She said as she looked up at Toriel, her eyes glowing a bright red. "Mom, I'll explain everything as best I can but you may want to sit down for this." She said, causing Toriel to hesitate but moved to the chair she had sat in to eat and Frisk began to explain. "When I first fell down here, it wasn't exactly for good reasons." Frisk said as she began her story. "It was said that those who climbed the Mountain never returned, eaten by the monsters imprisoned below it." Frisk explained, causing Toriel to gasp. "But of course that wasn't the case; instead of being killed or eaten I made so many new friends, you took me in and became my mom, it was… wonderful." As Frisk trailing off, a whimsical smile on her face Toriel saw that Frisk was lost in memories. "Despite the fact that Monsters were not at all like what Humans had been led to believe the fact remained, I was the first person to have climbed Mt. Ebbot and live. When I returned to the Orphanage I lived at I was different, changed, not just some little kid anymore but something… more."

Frisk sighed as her focus returned and she looked Toriel in the eyes. "My Soul Trait is called Determination and it allows me to rewind time whenever I please; it's that ability that allowed me to survive down here. Each death sent me back to a point in time I had saved, allowing me to try again. My travel from here in the Ruins to New Home took me just a few days but if you count all my resets, deaths and failed attempts… all that time could accumulate to years with me learning what to do and not to do, how to be a good person if I just tried, how all actions have consequences and so much more." Frisk's eyes darkened with memories seeming to come forth once more.

Frisk leaned back and looked up at the ceiling of the house. "All that time that passed, making friends and meeting new ones... I'd grown up. Maybe not physically but mentally was another matter; I became more mellow and calm, I'd come to understand myself better as well as the natures of both humans and monsters, I'd gained a lifetime's worth of experience and yet I still had so much to learn." She said as she returned to looking at Toriel. "It wasn't a noticeable change to me but I guess even if I was still in the body of a child I'd begun to act like an adult or maybe even an old women and the other children at the orphanage could tell there was something different about me, they began to treat me like the an older sibling and I guess I likewise I began to treat them like they were my younger siblings. Eventually everything came to a head, the day I learned I had magic and was forced to accept just how much I had changed… it was a beautiful day that day." Frisk said with a faint smile as her eyes began to unfocus. "The birds were singing and flowers blooming… on days like that real monsters like to come out and try to hurt good little boys and girls and receive a bad time for their efforts." Frisk finished her eyes flashing as a grim smile appeared on their face.

Location: Hope Orphanage, base of Mt. Ebbot

Date: XX - XX 201X

One month after Frisk returned from the Underground

Frisk sat on the windowsill of a second floor window looking out over the field watching the other children play. Ever since she had returned to the orphanage from her trip to Mt. Ebbot she had become rather lazy and distant but at the same time was friendlier and always was there helping or finding a way to cheer up the other children with puns or jokes. The few times she now really became serious was when something was wrong and even then the caretakers did their best to stay out of her way.

Frisks return to the Orphanage had led to much speculation among the other orphans and due to her being the only person to ever come back from the mountain as well as her new relaxed nature and mature personality they had come to see her as a form of big sister or protector. Frisk didn't seem to care for the adoration and praise that she was given, and only really got involved in something when one of the children were in trouble or needed help.

Frisk sighed as she closed her eyes, leaning back against the sill with a lazy smile. The day was nice, her perch was right in the way of the sun and she was getting tired, however a sudden commotion caused her to lazily open one of her eyes and turn to look at what had interrupted her soon planned nap. In the yard there was a kid dressed in expensive looking clothes pushing one of the orphans down while a couple of boys dressed the same as the kid were harassing the others. Frisk sighed and swung herself off her perch, jumped down to the ground and walked toward the group, her hands in the pocket of the old blue jacket she now always wore.

As she neared the group of troublemakers she set a smile on her face and pulled her left hand out of the pocket, getting as close to the lead kid before stretching it out and speaking. "Hey ya, don't you know how to greet a new pal?" She asked the kid from behind. "Turn around and shake my hand." Frisk said in a monotone and creepy way causing the kid to freeze up before turning and grasping it only for a farting sound to cause him to pull away and Frisk to start laughing. "Ah, the ol' whoopee cushion in the hand trick, it's always funny." She said with a smile as she raised her and showed the whoopee cushion. "Anyway the name's Frisk."

The kid stared at Frisk for a moment before a smirk appeared. "Deen, Tristan Deen, and if my boys are to be believed you've been causing a lot of trouble for me. See these idiots owe me a little money and you have been preventing my colleges from collecting it. As such you've become an obstacle, one that I intend to remove." The boy said in what Frisk assumed was meant to be either an intimidating way or a bad mobster impersonation.

Frisk sighed and put her hands in her jacket pockets, attitude and demeanor never changing from uncaring. "So, you're the one who keeps sending those bullies?" She asked, shaking her head. "Should'a figured." Frisk said as Tristan pulled out a knife and pointed it at her. Frisk eyed the blade, her smile never leaving her face however her posture changed and for a moment she looked tired. "So, I gotta question for ya." She said in a weary voice. "Do you think that even the worst person can change? That everyone can be a good person if they just try?" Frisk asked the kid as memories from a time long ago flashed through her mind where she was just like this bully and a good 'ol comedian stood where she stood now ready to set her straight. Tristan didn't reply at all to Frisk's question and she chuckled at the irony of the situation.

"No answer huh? Well here's a better question, do you want to have a bad time?" She asked as her smile went from tired but friendly to dark, her eyes seeming to grow dim as she spoke. "Cause if you take one more step… well you'll really not like what's gonna happen." Tristan smirked and took one step forward causing Frisk to sigh one last time. "Sorry mom, this is why I hate making promises." She said so quietly that almost no one could hear her and the world flashed before it went grayscale leaving only Frisk and Tristan in an expansive void however to the other children it appeared as if they were only standing in front of each other.

Frisk closed her eyes and took a deep breath before sighing, letting what looked like a wisp of child air out of her mouth even though the day was pleasantly warm. "It's a beautiful day outside, birds are singing, flowers are blooming. On days like this...kids like you, should be burning in Hell!" Frisk said her voice distorted and demonic as her eyes snapped open, her right eye glowing red with Determination. Instinct took over as Frisk pulled on the magic molding it into a rapier which she grabbed and pointed forward with a flourish sending a maze of bones towards Tristan.

Tristan desperately tried to dodge the unexpected attack in panic but was caught by a few of the bones causing him to cry out in pain. While the original attack had only knocked him down one HP he immediately began to feel like he had been set on fire around the impact zone as the Karmic Retribution began to leech more from him. Frisk didn't let up though and pushed her soul energy together till she felt as if it suddenly burst and seven Gaster Blasters appeared each one firing and hitting their target. Tristan cried out again as each blast struck him but he endured the hit before rising to his feet and glared at Frisk.

"Huh, always wondered why no one ever used their strongest attack first." She said with a shrug before she smiled. "Well here we go." Frisk said with a grin as she lowered the rapier and stood in a calm position as if she were simply out for a leisure stroll, the Gaster Blasters appearing around her once more before each glowed a different color and transformed into fully grown Dragon skeletons. Tristan stood shocked but quickly shook his head and looked down to find four buttons floating in front of him, FIGHT, ACT, ITEM, and MERCY. Tristan smirked and pressed FIGHT charging at Frisk who smiled and dodged the attack. "Did you really think I was just going to stand there and take it?" She asked with a dark grin plastered on her face as the Dragons growled, their eyes glowing as they opened their mouths and fired.

Toriel sat shocked as Frisk finished her story "In the end he gave up the fight and never bullied anyone ever again after that. Eventually he changed, didn't exactly become a nice guy he certainly became better than the person he was." Frisk finished as she finished the last of the snail pie on her plate. "That was the first time I used my magic and certainly wouldn't be the last."

"That still doesn't explain how you are able to use it." Toriel said as she picked up the plates and headed for the kitchen, Frisk followed as Toriel went to the sink and began to clean up the dishes.

Frisk nodded. "I know and after I learned how to use my magic properly I researched how and when I could have gained the ability. From what I've learned it seems that the magic here in the Underground as well as my soul's unique ability to use Determination mixed and allowed me to use magic." Frisk explained with a sigh. "To be more specific I can use a mix of Skeleton Boss Magic and Fire Magic like you and King Asgore use." Frisk explained before looking down. "Unfortunately the power to use it came at a price, due to the power and nature of my magic, my HP is permanently at five." She said, causing Toriel to drop a plate with a gasp and quickly turn to Frisk, concern written all over her face. "Mom It's ok, I've lived with this for a little over fifteen years and the only thing having such low HP really affected is my need to sleep, I need more so I have the energy to do stuff." Frisk said as she walked over and hugged Toriel. "Though that wasn't the only side effect."

"What do you mean, my child?" Toriel asked, causing Frisk to look away and pull away from Toriel.

"The side effects changed me in several ways both physically and mentally. As I explained I'm really laid back now which is a small side effect but well…" Frisk sighed and removed her trench coat and pulling off her sweater revealing a gray tank top before snapping her fingers, slowly the skin on her right arm and around her left eye started glowing red and the illusion faded till all that remained was her bones, her eyes changed as well with the sclera disappearing and turning black on her right eye and her left became an empty eye socket with only a red eyelight, "I did say the changes were physical as well." She said with a nervous chuckle as she sat down on a chair looking like she was about to pass out as Toriel looked upon her in shock.

Sans's head snapped up his eyes wide causing Grillby to turn in surprise. 'Sans?' Grillby asked. Sans didn't reply as he was lost in thought. It was impossible but he swore he had felt it, but that was impossible there was no skeleton with that magical signature. Only Frisk had the power of Determination and she wasn't a skeleton. "Hey Grillby… I-I'm heading home, I… I think I've had too much to drink…" Sans trailed off as he slowly got up and started to walk toward the door. "Hey Grillby, can you do me a favor and put it on my tab?" The fire elemental stared at in shock as did the rest of the bar. "Sans, are you feeling alright?" Doggo asked with a look of concern on the old war veteran's face. Sans smiled at the dog's concern. "I'm not sure but I think I'm fine… just had a little bit too much to drink is all. Don't worry I'll pay tomorrow morning, promise, but I really gotta get home." With that Sans turned and walked out the door closing softly behind him.
