The sudden confrontation caused some stirs in both sides, especially with Batman taking the groups aversion to co-operating personally, which is unsurprising since he is actually the reason their group has decided to take matters into their own hands.
Superman has done a fantastic job keeping the groups calm and collected, although even the Man of Steel cannot contain Wonder Woman's fury forever. Especially with Batman making it clear he is going to give nothing up for free, taking every opportunity he has to evade questions and provide vague answers.
The direct approach has rarely worked on the Batman, so Barry is confused why Wonder Woman would even attempt to do so, but he's afraid an Amazon cannot escape their nature much like the Dark Knight cannot escape his. Lies and deception are his weapons and unlike Superman, Diana doesn't have the time or patience to nod and appease Batman like Clark does.
Being the fastest man alive has some benefits in this regard - he doesn't actually have to care about any conversation he doesn't wish to take part in. He can just run away from every problem his life has ever thrown at him.
Maybe it's why things keep on growing until they are uncontrollable, but Barry has never been one to directly face a problem unless it's something to do with his superhero side. He considers one-to-one conversations to fall outside of this category so its nothing bad to speed away from the Batman whenever he is looking for Barry.
Usually, it's to scold him for something either he or Wally has done recently. It's not his fault the toilets aren't exactly speedster-proof and the chain flushes incredibly slow compared to how he uses it.
Costing the Watchtower more than its fair share of budget due to the way his running around can cause problems to windows, doors and all sorts of furniture, Barry has recommended plenty of times for the League to make their structure a lot more speedster-proof but they ignore him at every chance.
He can only imagine how Wally feels inside of the mountain, at least Barry has some excuse being a founder member of the Justice League. People tend to ignore the bad things he does when they are relatively insignificant.
"You think Batman will cave in?" Barry asks Green Arrow, too unsure himself to make an accurate judgement.
"You kidding? Batman's going to drag this on for as long as he can," Green Arrow responds. "Superman can only protect Bruce from Diana for so long - she'll get ahold of Batman soon enough and then he'll be spilling the beans. The lasso of truth can make even Batman talk."
"Yeah. Not a nice feeling," Flash agrees, not fondly remembering the time Wonder Woman used the lasso against Barry when she wanted to check who had stolen her sandwich.
"When this spills over, can you make sure I'm not in the way of those two? Just zoom me over to the canteen and i'll enjoy the show from there," Oliver adds, for once Barry not entirely sure whether the archer is attempting to be funny or not.
"I can't believe we have let it get to this point," Barry shakes his head, "every moment we waste her yelling at each other, the team is put in more danger than they need to be in. They can handle themselves, but what's coming their way might be beyond them."
"Let's sort this out then Barry," Green Arrow pats Flash on the shoulder.
The archer barges his way onto centre stage whilst the speedster cautioulsy follows him, aware of the group of eyes now looking at them both. At a loss for words, Barry allows Oliver to set the stage.
"The mighty Justice League," Oliver starts, whistling theatrically, "if only our enemies could see us now. Darkseid, Mongol, extra-terrestrial baddies from all over the place - not one of them have broke us. If only they knew our secret: just leave us alone and we will do it for you."
"Not sure about you guys but this isnt what I signed up for," Barry sighs, pulling down his mask and revealing his face. "I've got a family which counts on me and an entire police department which could use my skills. Yet, here I am; I didn't sign up to be apart of something 'bigger', I signed up because this seemed like the best option to put some real good out into the world."
"Star City needs me, and Central City needs him," Oliver points towards Barry. "But guess what: the world needs all of us! Not just Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman, but every single person on this watchtower and those on Earth fighting the good fight. Some where out there a group of teenagers is doing just that, and we, as the heroes they are supposed to be looking up to are stood here arguing."
Taking a moment to ensure the message is beginning to sink in, Barry walks up to the leading trio of the league.
"Batman - a kid you took in when he was only a child is now out there with his team, battling against incredible odds without any help. All we as a group wanted was to avoid the red line and give them the support they deserve. If you think that's out of line, then why are you here? You had the same choice all of us had and you signed up, which means somewhere inside that suit you trust us enough to fight alongside." Barry address Batman, making sure to match the Dark Knight's eyes at all times. "If you have something in mind which means those kids aren't in any trouble from the Light again, share it. If you don't trust us with that information, we might as well call this whole things quits right here and right now."
Taking a moment to soak in the amount of eyes piercing through his helmet, Batman finally opens up to the gathered heroes. It takes a while for the Dark Knight to reveal everything he knows and by the time he's finished, Green Arrow is shrugging his shoulders.
One thing is for certain.
Batman has a plan.

Once again, thank you for reading. I've been ridiculously slow at bringing anything out so sorry for the hassle!
