Hera and Kallus froze.
"Unidentifiable rebel ship. Surrender or you are about to get destroyed. Last warning," Thrawn said again, through the speakers.
"Forget it. I'm going in," Kasari meant to Thrawn, during she prepared the ship for docking.
"Rebel ship. Prepare yourself for getting board. At any sing of resistance, we will be forced to shot," Thrawn said into the speaker. "What do you think Kasari? We should have done it my way!"
"Yeah your way… bet they froze. I said you don't have to come with me. But now we're here. So maybe you are my supervisor, but I tell you something: You would have boarded right at the first time. You are just like this carrying around me! So please, please be professional, until this whole thing is over. I know about the promise you gave my father. But I can take care of my one. This was choice. I knew what my life would be after it. So please, be professional and as cold as always Thrawn," she said. She armed herself and put on her helmet. Then she went to the airlock.
Thrawn followed her example and armed himself. As he stood behind her, he said:" How you wish Agent Joric"
Then they took their weapons and aimed for the door. Then Kasari pushed the button and both entered the rebel ship.
A few minutes before at the Phantom:
"Unidentifiable rebel ship. Surrender or you are about to get destroyed. Last warning," Thrawn said again, through the speakers.
Hera broke her froze and tackled Kallus down. "This is a trap. You fucking idiot. You! You used Zeb! I swear if I get out alive from this…. You are a dead man!" flinched she at Kallus.
"I…I…I have nothing to do with it…I…. I…" he stammered. His face was pale and scared. "I…I… would never hurt Zeb. I love him," he said quiet nearly unhearable.
"Then stand up and help me"
"It won't help. Thrawn is an excellent close combat fighter and Kasari… rumors are saying she took down on bar of smugglers and bounty hunters. Unarmed."
"So, you say, we should give up? Just like this?"
Tschhh made the airlock.
"Hands up! There where I can see it!" Kasari shouted. Hera and Kallus froze again. "See I told you they would freeze," she meant to Thrawn. She went to Kallus and handcuffed him. "Sorry. I hoped I hadn't to do this," she whispered in his ear.
In the same time Thrawn handcuffed Hera. Thrawn and Kasari dragged them to their own ship.
"How did you find me?" Kallus asked.
"We had a suspicion and then you took a day off. So, I placed a tracker at the ships," Kasari meant. Thrawn looked at her strange. Hera saw it and starred at Kasari. She just shrugged and dragged them through the airlock. Hera and Kallus were put into seats and bond to it. "Sadly, this ship type is fast but has no cells. So, please have a seat. We will take car of your ship. Please don't run away," she said and went back to the Phantom.
"We will take care of you later. But Agent Kallus, could you please tell me: Why did you defect?" Thrawn asked.
No answer.
"They will find us. And they will save us," Hera meant.
"If you think so. Then believe it," Thrawn said and turned away. He followed Kasari through the airlock.
She stood at the console and downloaded the whole database, who was saved on it. "I think, we could get their security protocols with-"
"Stop. We will. But now, please Kasari, tell me what is wrong," Thrawn said and put a hand up to her shoulder.
"This is not the place for it. I will tell you everything back on the Chimaere, but please"
"What is it?"
"It is my birthday… and the day of the death of my father."
"I am sorry"
"You do not to have to. I faked the death day for the official report. I did not want to be remembered on it every time someone mentioned my birthday. With time I forgot myself. Till last year. I found the original. I don't know why I didn't destroy it"
"Wow. So, we do our job and then…?" Thrawn asked.
"Yes. I will leave the ISB after this job, Thrawn"
Silence. They did their job and went back to their ship. In silence both went to their seats. Thrawn switched off the airlock. Kasari looked at Kallus.
"Okay. What for a shitty relationship do you have all three?" Hera asked nerved.
"Thrawn kind a like me and can't tell me. Kallus is somehow my big brother. And I am just really pissed. Questions?" Kasari asked bored. Thrawn and Kallus starred at her. "What?" she meant shrugging to Kallus and Thrawn.
Before they could answer the ship started to shutter and move.
"What?!" Kasari meant and looked at the controls. "Oh no! Oh no! Shit! They are pirates!"
"Pirates?!" the rest asked in surprise.
Before Thrawn could react, Kasari Uncuffed Hera and Zeb and said: "Help us! Or we will all go down! I know this one. They are the worst"
"What are you doing Kasari?" Thrawn asked furious.
"Saving our lives. No matter how. So, do you two help us?" she asked.
"Yes, what other chances do we have to get out here," Hera meant shrugging, "Could I get my weapon and Kallus maybe his?"
"Yeah, sure"
"Kasari, what do you think you are doing? I am the commanding officer!", said Thrawn losing his mask.
"Oh, for god's sake Thrawn! I am trying to save our lives. I know these pirates and they wouldn't be polite! And I know that Kallus won't fall in our backs, cause he respects me. And second Hera also not, cause she is a reasonable person, where know when she has to make compromises. And you! You, my dear Thrawn are right now in no condition to be in charge! So, just trust me! And to you all try not to kill each other!", Kasari meant furious.
Before some one could react to Kasari's speech they heard the air lock clicking. All went into combat mode. Everything happens fast.
The air lock was opened and the blaster shoots came through it. They shoot back. A smoke grenade was thrown to them, blasters were fired and someone screamed. One of them get to the airlock and throw a grenade into the other ship and un locked the air locks just in time. There was still smoke but Hera saw Thrawn and Kallus taking down the leftover pirates. So, she went to the consoles and set a course away from there. Seconds after they jumped into hyperspace. Save from everyone, pirates, Empire, but also the Rebellion.
The air went clear again. Hera saw Thrawn and Kallus sitting on the floor, recovering in front of some dead pirates. It was that moment Hera saw another, nearly motionless body. She gasped. It was Kasari laying face down, not moving nearby the airlock. Thrawn and Kallus followed her view and both gasped as well.
Thrawn was the first reaching her, turning her around. She was bleeding at the stomach and at her arm. On her forehead was a small streamlet of blood.
"Hey...", she croaked.
"Hey, Kasari stay with me! Kasari!", Thrawn screamed. Kallus was sitting in shock behind. Kasari closed her eyes and turned into unconscious. Hera laid a hand on Thrawn shoulder.
She said: "We can save her. I can fly us to a Rebel med station just in time. But you to would be our prisoners. It is your choice"
