Summary: Jet finds a new interest. (Crossover with Greek mythology, same alternate universe/multiverse as July 2019)

Jet saw the boy from a mile away. It was hard not to, with the glowing bones.

Weirdly enough, no one else seem to notice it. When he'd pointed it out to Smellerbee, she'd looked at him like he'd gone crazy, and Longshot had had much the same reaction. None of the other refugees on the boat seemed to see it. The old man with him seems to be fine with it. He'll need to keep this on the down low, even as he decides to tail the glowing-bones boy.

"I'm sick of eating rotten food!" the boy shouted.

"Aren't we all," Jet said, and finally made contact.

The heist was over, the food distributed, and the rest of the refugees were settling in for the night. Jet, on the other hand, had just one more thing to do.

"Hey Li," he called to the glowing-bones boy. "I need to talk to you for a second."

The boy - he was almost sure that Li wasn't his real name - got cagey again, but he followed Jet to the rooftop anyways, probably thinking Jet wanted to flirt or make out or something. He wouldn't have been wrong. Jet began to talk, soothing him over with compliments and flattering him with innocent questions, letting him get closer until their arms touched, their hands intertwined, and Jet could properly whisper in his ear. He seemed to like it.

"I need to ask you something a little weird," he finally said, after a moment of silence. Li's head rested on his shoulder and his eyes were closed, which didn't really help the whole you-could-see-his-skull-through-his-skin thing.

"What is it?" Li murmured.

"You have to promise not to tell me I'm crazy."

Li's tone was more suspicious now. "What is it?"

Jet breathed in, breathed out, and decided to just get over with it. "Is it just me or are your bones glowing?"

He felt the boy tense against him, and he shifted away from Jet back to an upright position. "You can see that?"

"Yea? Why can't anyone else?"

Li sighed and pulled his legs up to his chin. "I don't want to get anyone else wrapped up in this crazy drama, but if you can see the sign, you're already a part of it. Tell me: what do you know of a Hera?"

"Never heard of it."

"Aphrodite?"

"Nope."

"Ares?"

"Mm-mm."

"Hades."

He shook his head.

Li looked at him for a second, considering. "Eris?"

"I - yea, actually. I saw that name on some weird golden apple. I still have it."

"She'd be your patron, then. Or maybe just your mother."

"She's not my mother, trust me."

"Alright. There's a lot to go over." He rubbed at his head. "Gods, even I don't know all of it. Maybe I can explain. Later. I don't know. Maybe Eris or someone else will explain it before I do." A sigh. "It's been a long day."

"None of that made any sense? What gods? Who's Eris?"

"Later, Jet," he said. "Later."

Then he leapt nimbly off the roof, leaving Jet with far more questions than before.

The words 'glowing bones' don't even feel real anymore. Enjoy, I guess
