When I bought the Legendary Edition of Mass Effect I'd expected to re-live the wonder of the game, I never expected to actually 'live' it though

Jason Miller was just a rifleman in the army when he was shot in the face and got Isekai'd into the Mass Effect universe with powers from Destiny, of all things. Story begins 11 years prior to the events of Mass Effect 1 as Jason forges his own story before he joins the fight to hunt down Saren.

The Pulse is what the Quarians call the destructive wave sent out by the Citadel that destroyed the Reapers. It has affected their planet more than anywhere else. Desperate for answers, Tali is tasked - who is still on Earth helping Shepard recover - with finding those answers. What she finds could change everything - for her, for her people, and for those that have been lost.

With friends and family at her side, Dr Liara T'Soni travels the galaxy, digging up the long-lost trail of the Protheans. Setting aside her life as an active Spectre, Shepard settles into domestic life (of sorts) to accompany Liara on her journey. Finally, a life full of peace, love and happiness becomes reality… and the long-awaited little blues get to make their appearance.

In the years since her family was killed, J.R. Shepard has learned to put the personal aside in favor of the professional. But as the galaxy's crises become her responsibility, as she gathers around her the people who will aid her, she finds a new family, and love that she never expected, and will have to learn how to put the two halves of herself back together.

I think we can all agree waking up as a guy in a woman's body would be jarring to say the least. Waking up as an asari? Horrifying. But waking up as what I had the incredible misfortune to be...
