"So… My eyes are purple" Of course, she did not expect an answer from anyone since she was alone in her new room. The first thing she had done upon entering this room, was to go check herself out in the mirror since she was curious to know if she retained the same physical appearance.

Well, the only difference she could note were her eyes. They were purple. She had checked thrice to be certain she wasn't seeing things but no, they were no longer the green she was used to.

Apart from that, she still had her slender figure, her brown hair and her pale skin. Working in a hospital, no less as a surgeon meant she had no time to go out and get some sun. All she did back then was work and sleep. She looked younger too. She scrunched up her nose and sighed. She wasn't going to complain about having her youthful appearance back.

Oh and her dark circles were gone.

Satisfied with her reflection, she bounced on the bed and sighed. She had accepted Hashirama's offer because she did not have another choice. It was either stay with them or be left in the wild with the chance she might encounter some other people who wouldn't be as kind as the Senju.

Now she had to know where she landed in the story. Was it before or after Izuna died? She pondered for a moment, trying to see if she could save him or not? Would she even be able to? She knows that it was Tobirama that delivered the blow, but she didn't remember by what means he did so. Was it using a jutsu? Was it by blade?

She assumed it would be soon. Hashirama had been made clan head not long ago according to Sumire, the maid who had been appointed to her by said clan head.

Sumire was a petite girl who loved to talk and that's how she learned that the clan had taken her in after her family had been killed by some bandits. She had approached them by offering her services as a maid and that some clansmen had suspected her of being a spy sent by the Uchiha because of her black hair and black eyes.

She had rolled her eyes at that. She understood that this was a period where many clans fought each other, especially the Uchiha and the Senju. Precaution was better than being stabbed in the back she guesses.

On that note, Tobirama had not been pleased with her staying here. Well, if Hashirama extended the same invitation to every lost person he encountered, she guessed she would be too.

Having nothing else to do other that keep thinking over pointless things, she decided to get up and see what the compound looked like. Sumire had left her earlier so she could get some rest before dinner, but she wasn't tired. She had slept enough the past four days.

Finally finding the door that lead her outside, she took a deep breath of the fresh air and smiled, remembering the faces of the few people she had passed by in the hallway. At first she had wondered why they were staring so much. After that she thought it was because she was a new face. And then did she remember the clothes she was wearing and scoffed.

She was probably showing too much skin by their standard. Oh well, she'd ask Sumire for something more covering next time she sees her. For now she was going to enjoy the warm weather and look around.

Hearing some sounds in the distance, she decided to follow it. Her curiosity was one of her biggest flaws after all.

That's how she came across the training grounds were men of various age were currently training

The training grounds, huh.

She nearly gaped at the sight of a small infant, no older than five, throwing shurikens before remembering that she was in a manga where such things were acceptable. Especially during times of war.

She frowned at that. What was the point of war? Why did the Uchiha and Senju thought that recurring bloodshed would resolve anything? Resolve what though? Did they even know what they were fighting for anymore? She doubted it. But she was certain that it continued because Uchiha killed the Senju and the Senju killed the Uchiha leading to resentment between the clans. For how long will they continue like this? How many more lives would have to be sacrificed? How many children needed to die before they realized that this needs to end.

"Who are you?"

Too caught up in her thoughts, she hadn't noticed the man closing on her. She wasn't even sure she would have sensed him even if she had been aware of her surroundings.

"I won't repeat myself"

She nearly gulped but she knew that if she did so, the sharp object stuck on her neck would cut her. The man pressed harder, drawing blood when she failed to answer.

"I'm a guest of Hashirama. You can ask him-"

"Don't take me for a fool" She could feel blood dripping down her neck. "You were masking your chakra and spying on us"

Spying? He called that spying. She would have lashed out at him if she wasn't in this position. If she really wanted to spy on them she wouldn't have been standing out in the open, merely standing there for them to notice her. Maybe he was stupid?

"Answer me"

"I already told. Go check with Hashirama or Tobirama if you don't believe me"

She could feel the sharp edge against her neck as she spoke, and she was sure she lost quite an amount of blood. Was she going to die like this? All because of one idiotic man? She closed her eyes and asked God to send someone to knock some sense into these men.

"Release her"

On a second thought, I take it back. Let me die.

She would recognise that voice anywhere. Of course it had to be the albinos that came to her rescue. Great. Just great.

She was nonetheless glad when the man behind her stepped away. Clutching her neck, she all but turned around and was ready to slap the shit out of him. She refrained from doing so and instead choose to glare at him.

Her throat burned like hell.

"If this leave a scare…"

The man had at least some decency to look ashamed and she simply huffed before making her way through the crowd and leaving to find the infirmary. She had to treat her wound, quickly.

She found herself soon followed by the second Senju, who had fallen into steps with her, but she paid him no mind.

"You're going the wrong way"

She stopped abruptly and closed her eyes. She had no reason to be mad at Tobirama. He had done nothing wrong, only wary of her presence within his clan. But she had felt so humiliated, feeling so powerless in front of that man and the fact that she was not recognised and respected was a hard blow. The last time she had felt so small was when she was an intern. After securing her position at the hospital, she had nothing but respect from everyone.

She suddenly wished she was home.

Not thrown in a fictional world where people killed each other for fun.

She turned around and looked at Tobirama. He had simply been staring at her, not telling her which direction to go. As if the fact alone that he was talking to her would kill him. Was she such an eyesore to him?

As if sensing her thoughts, he indicated for her to follow him which she did and soon enough they reached the infirmary. She immediately went in and started searching for some antiseptic and gauze. And a mirror, if possible. She needed to see the extent of damage. She really hoped this wouldn't leave a scar.

She nearly jumped when Tobirama caught her by her hand and guided her toward on of the chair without a word. Dumbfounded, she let herself be led and simply shot him a questioning glance when he sat her down.

He removed her hand from her throat and tilted her head up. The injury stung when he poured antiseptic on it and she winced. He then proceeded to wrap the injury with some bandages.

"Why are you doing this?"

For a second, she was sure he wouldn't answer her but was surprised when he sighed and provided her with an answer.

"I should have told the clan that you would be staying with us for an undefined period. I apologize for this."

She was at a loss of words. She never would have guessed that Tobirama would apologize to her. But before she had a chance to respond, he continued.

"The wound is not as deep as I expected so it shouldn't leave a scar. Let Hiemi take a look at it later on"

"Thank you"

This was probably the first and last time she would be hearing him talk this much.

"Misaki-chan! Are you alright!?"

It took her more than a second to understand that she was Misaki. She wanted to scoff at the originality she had come up with the name. Misaki. What a pretty basic name.

Hashirama had all but barged in the infirmary and she assured him that she was fine while he kept apologizing that such an unfortunate event had happened to her. Tobirama said nothing else and left the room. As she stared at his back, she wondered if he wasn't as cold as he pretended to be.

.

&&& Maybe he was just emotionally constipated? &&&

.

It had been a week since she accepted the offer Hashirama had extended to her and apart from the training ground incident, nothing else had happened. She hadn't seen the two Senju brother since then and spent her time as best as she could. But she had to be honest with herself, she was bored. So, so bored. She was dying of boredom. There was nothing to do except stay within the compound.

Sure, she would sometimes hang out with Sumire but unlike herself, the girl had duties to attend to.

She sighed and turned on her back. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and everything looked peaceful. She was currently lying in the grass somewhere in the garden and she had been in that position for the past hours judging from the growl her stomach let out. It probably was dinner time, but she had no energy to move. She was becoming lazy; she could feel it.

She let out a frustrated groan. If this continued, she would commit murder just for the fun of stitching the body up afterward. There weren't even any books around to read, only classified scrolls. What did people do to occupy themselves. Oh wait, she had asked that question to Sumire.

Men trained and women learned to be good housewives. She had shuddered at that. Her, playing housewife? Never.

She had never even been in a relationship, too focused on her goals to settle for anyone. She had tried once to do it but her boyfriend at that time only complained about her never being available and spending most of her time at the hospital. She had been an intern, of course she would be expected to spend her time at the hospital. What had he expected? So she had ditched him after a month.

Thinking of her intern days, she realised how much she missed the hospital. The cold and clean hallways, the smell of antiseptic, the rush of adrenaline when she was presented with a case. The feeling of a heart between her fingers. Oh, how she longed for that.

The birds that were sitting on the branch above her suddenly took off and she frowned. She slowly sat up and looked around. Nothing was out of the ordinary, but she noticed how quiet it had gotten. Had all the birds vanished?

She was about to sit up when a heavy object landed beside her and she nearly screamed.

A body had fallen beside her, and it took her only a second to notice the blood seeping through his clothes and her medic instincts instantly kicked in. Had God heard her prayers and finally granted her with a body?

Was it weird that she found small joy and was excited to finally get something to relieve her from her boredom? Yes, it was. Did she care? No.

She froze when the face that greeted her was one of a teenager.

She first checked for his pulse. Then his breathing, making sure nothing was obstructing his airways. Worried with what she found, she moved to his pupils. Unresponsive. He had a large gash on his arm, but she couldn't see any more than that due to his armour. She was about to get rid of it to have a better look when her hand was intercepted by someone.

"What do you think you're doing?"

She glanced up to find Tobirama hovering above her. When had he come back to the compound? Looking around for a brief instant, she noticed that there were three more clansmen with them and a maid. How had she not noticed them? Focusing her attention back to him, she answered.

"Trying to save him, obviously"

He didn't let go of her as he asked one of the clansmen standing behind him if they had found Hashirama. She vaguely heard him say that the leader of the clan had gone out shortly after coming home and they didn't know where he was.

She tried to snatch her hand away, but his grip stayed firm.

"Let me go, Tobirama!"

He didn't spare her a glance. She saw Hiemi and another woman crouching down next to the man and as soon as they retired his armour, she caught a clear view of his swollen abdomen.

Hiemi turned to look at Tobirama and slightly bowing her head.

"I'm afraid there's nothing I could"

What?

She was bewildered by what she had just heard. She knew that it wasn't until Tsunade came that there was improvement in the medical department but were they that bad before? Someone around here should at least have a perfect chakra control to use medical ninjutsu, if not, they could operate him by using standard procedures.

"If Hashirama-sama is not her by the next ten minute, he'll die."

Not ten minutes. He's going to bleed out in less than five minutes, we don't have time.

"I'm going to look for my brother. Do not let her near him"

And it dawned on her that he didn't trust her. How could he? She was nothing but a stranger to him. She was an unknown variable thrown their way and he wasn't about to leave the life of one of his clansmen in her hands. The grip on her wrist disappeared but she found herself surrounded by two man.

She looked as Hiemi did her best to patch up the external wounds, but it wouldn't be enough. There was no point in treating him if they didn't neutralise the most important wound. She could bet her life that he was blending internally and he was going to die.

"Hiemi" She called out. When the woman refused to look at her, she pressed. "Hiemi, please. I can save him."

The older woman looked torn before letting out a soft sigh and telling the men to let her trough. She wasted no time before crouching down and checked his pulse. It was far slower than last time. She had to act fast.

She moved her hand to grab her- Grab what exactly? She wasn't in an operating room, she wasn't even in an hospital and she didn't have any of her surgical tools. She froze as she realized that she couldn't do anything to save him. She was helpless.

Breathe. Think. There's something you can do.

Looking again at his abdomen, she noticed the small wound, as if he had been stabbed with a kunai. Finally coming up with something she could do, she opened her flask and poured the water on her hands. She didn't have any antiseptic within reach so it would have to do. At least it would get rid of the dirt and sweat.

"Get me a kunai. Now."

Her voice was strong and when Hiemi snatched one from one of the men standing behind them without question, she felt a slight surge of joy, but it was not the time to feel pleased about that. She had to save that man.

She didn't hesitate when she cut him open, enough to let her hand pass through and quickly discarder the kunai before shoving her hand inside and began searching for the ruptured blood vessel.

Abdominal swelling can be caused by internal bleeding from a trauma in the liver or spleen so why is there a wound? Did he receive the wound after the impact? Or was the internal bleeding caused by the cut?

She didn't get to ponder about it more as she found the source of the bleeding and closed it with her finger. It would stabilize the body for the time being.

"Does any of you know how to use chakra for medical purpose?"

"We do not Misaki-sama"

She let out a frustrated groan, how much longer until Hashirama gets here?

"Go get me some antiseptic. Gauze. Something to replenish his blood and chakra. And something to stich up his arm. You" She turned her head to one of the men "Go get me some water."

"Now, now, no need to scare my people Misaki-chan"

She nearly let out a sigh of relief. Hashirama was crunched on the other side of the body and was already emitting chakra from his hands. Seeing her hand deep in the wound, he raised an eyebrow.

"It's the first time I'm seeing something like this"

"He has a ruptured vessel. That was the only way to stop the internal bleeding."

His expression immediately turned serious and he nodded.

"You can remove it now"

.

Hashirama sighed and poured himself another cup of sake. Takuya –the injured one- had woken up earlier today and had reported what had happened.

His group was returning from a mission when they were ambushed by Uchiha and being at a disadvantage –three against eight- they had decided to retreat at first but one of the opponent provoked them which resulted in Senju Daiki's rage and instead of following his clansmen, he instead decided to engage in a battle with the Uchiha group.

As a result, two of his men had died today at the hands of the Uchiha and Takuya had barely managed to escape.

He poured himself another cup and drank it in one go. The situation was bad. If the Uchiha managed to localize their new position, it was the end and they couldn't risk that, so it meant another battle was going to take place soon. As well as many other deaths.

"Hashirama?"

He looked up to find Misaki standing in front of him. A girl he didn't know anything about and yet he had welcomed her into his clan until she regained her memories. He knew Tobirama still didn't accept that, but he was not heartless to let her wander on her own. To say he had been surprised to find her with her arm deep inside on of his clansmen abdomen would be an understatement. Did she possess some medical knowledge?

"Come have a drink with me Misaki"

She didn't refuse his invitation and sat down beside him. He poured them each a cup and extended her one. She all but gulped it down and he raised an eyebrow at that.

"I'd like to talk to you about something"

That was interesting. He refiled their cups.

"I'm listening"

It seemed as if she was gathering up her courage to ask him and he slightly smiled. She was so easy to read.

"I want, with your permission, to offer some medical training."

That picked up his curiosity. Did she, perhaps, remember something from her past? Why else would she offer something like that?

"What happened this morning made me realise that I possess extensive knowledge of the human body and I believe, at some point in my life, I received medical training. I do not remember how or why but I know it would benefit this clan to train more people with medical arts."

She took a sip of her cup and looked at him with something akin to determination in her eyes.

"I do not want children dying only because no one could detect the seriousness of the injury or knew how to patch it up."

She had a point. He gulped down his cup. It would benefit his clan if she lived up to what she was telling her. The only problem would lie with his brother. He, without a doubt, would be against giving her such power and freedom.

"I'll discuss it with my brother and will tell you of my decision by tomorrow morning"

He didn't miss the frown that appeared on her face at the mention of Tobirama and he merely smiled.

"Now, Misaki-chan, I see that you know how to enjoy your liquor"

Said girl suddenly stared at him with suspicion and she was right to.

She woke up the following morning with a headache. Now she knew where Tsunade got her drinking habits.
