They continued on a type of routine for the next few months, the only changes being Emma's knight duties. But they had lunch every day at the lake, continuing on taking a swim or just laying out, Emma could get away with it as being appointed Reginas personal guard, it allowed them to go to their paradise to relax and make love.
One day, they were still eating their food, Emma saw a lizard pass through the grass. It looked at her, stick it's tongue out and licking its eye before moving along. She chuckled, causing Regina to look up from her meal
"I just saw a lizard and it reminded me of Mal." she shrugged
Regina chuckled, shaking her head
Emma then recalled the last thing Mal had said to her before she left and put her meal down, losing her appetite with the thought
Her girlfriend looked up at her again and reached for her hand to pull her attention towards her
" I miss her too." she smiled softly
"It's not just that, I mean yes I miss her but its what she said to me before she left." she sighed
"What was it?"
"She told me she loved you." she sighed
Regina smiled, "I know, I love her too. You know this."
"No, not just as a sister. I had said that she should bring back a lover so we could plan a wedding, tease her as they did me when I came back. She said I didn't have to worry about that because she loved you. And she asked me to take care of you while she was gone." she explained in a huff
"Why didn't you tell her, love," she asked, putting her food to the side of her
Emma sighed again and used her free hand to run her fingers through her hair.
"I couldn't do that to her before she left. I wanted her to enjoy her mission. Not be miserable and heartbroken during it."
"But wouldn't have been away for her to have the space she needed to heal properly so by the time she got back, she would've been okay."
"She's had a thing for you for years, I don't think half a year would've healed so fast like that," Emma grumbled
"Years? But she's been on and off with people since we turned fourteen" Regina asked confused
"Most likely denial. Or not wanting to be in love with your best friend for the chance to ruin your friendship." Emma shrugged
"Why does it sound like you're speaking from experience?" Regina put her food off to the side and crawled towards Emma to sit in her lap. Wrapping her legs around her waist and her hands around her neck.
Emma wrapped her arms around her waist as she settled
"Because when I found out I imprinted on you, I was scared. I consider Mal my sister and I had seen the dreamy look on her face every time she would look at you since we were twelve. I didn't want it to ruin my and Mal's friendship. Any of our friendship in general. I was scared of who you would choose."
"But it's confirmation that I was yours, that I'm your soulmate and true love. I just hadn't gotten the connection until I was Fifteen." She said
"It was still your choice. I wasn't going to tell you unless you felt the same. I wanted it to be your choice even if I had to watch you and Mal be together until you realized it yourself. I didn't want you to feel pressured into it or felt you were bound to it. I didn't want you to end up hating me because I wasn't who you wanted." Emma explained
Regina smiled and played with the baby hairs on the nape of the blonde's neck, "and that's why my first and only choice for anyone was you. That's why you asked me at the ball if I and she were together?"
Emma nodded, "I didn't want to shock or make it seem like your duty to drop everything and her to be with me. My dad asked me the same thing, why I hadn't told you yet. While I was away, Ruby had told me how Mal had practically moved into your bedroom and glued herself to your side as much as possible. And then you both told me about the kiss. I told him that if you two were together, I wasn't going to do anything to harm that happiness if you had found it in each other."
"But I wouldn't have been happy, my magic was haywire, I didn't get my seventh sense till you came home. I was antsy, I was going crazy. She was only there to cheer me up though because she said I worried her. We were never together."
Emma smiled and leaned up to peck her lips, sighing as they washed a calm over her stressed nerves. "I know my love. But he had told me the same, no matter what you would end up with me and asked what if Mal fought that decision. I told him I would put up a fight. If your decision is me, then I'd protect you and it. To not let her make you feel bad about it. And the same case goes for when she comes home and we have to tell her. She's my sister, I don't want to fight her but I'll be damned if I let her attack you with words or otherwise." She determined
Regina smiled wide and brought their lips together in a fiery kiss. Forcing all her love and gratitude into it. "And this is why no matter what, you were always and always will be my first choice. When she comes home after she settles in we will tell her, if she still feels the same, then we'll work with her through her emotions. She is still our Best friend and sister. We've been together for years. There's no breaking that. We will be fine my love."
They put their foreheads together, Regina calming her lover's senses and kneading the stress out of her shoulders.
"We'll be fine." Emma nodded
That day they would have to tell the dragon came sooner than they thought.
Mal was flying back with her uncle, having gotten done early with her mission due to fewer setbacks than they had considered since they had considered the possibilities of what happened with Emma's mission. They were a couple weeks early.
As they were flying home, Mal looked down, knowing they were flying over the secret paradise.
She saw two figures. One that she knew as Emma, but who Emma was on top of, she looked closer as the blondes figured moved down the body beneath her.
"Well that dog, I knew her and Roni were more serious than they made it out to seem." she chuckled to herself. Wishing her and the blonde had the telepathy they had with their packs. Though she sent a magic pulse to their mark
Down below, Emma and Regina were making love.
"Em, do you hear that," Regina spoke as the blonde started trailing her lips down a tan body.
"Sounds like the wind to me baby." Emma murmured into her skin, nipping on her way down
"No Emma, it sounds like flapping. I know you are otherwise occupied but just list-oh fuck" Regina moaned as Emma had reached her center.
Emma groaned at the sound and taste of her lover. She could spend the rest of her life only having the essence of Regina as her subsistence. It was so rare to hear the princess swear, the only time really around her when they were doing this activity.
"Emma seriously-ahh" Regina tried again.
"Gina, I'm sure its n-" Emma finally relented and it was then she felt the pulse in her mark.
She looked up and saw two dragons overhead. Another pulse went through her mark, confirming it was Mal.
"Mals home." She swallowed
"That's what that noise was? How do you know it was her flying over?" she panted
"The mark. She sent magic to it. She saw us and as soon as I looked up she sent another pulse."
"How long do you think we have until she lands?" Regina bit her lip
"The trip here from the castle always took at least ten minutes." she shrugged
Regina smiled, "Well, finish what you started and I can transport us home."
Emma chuckled at the mischievous glint in those brown eyes, "Yes your majesty."
She discarded all teasing and went all in. She danced her tongue around the clit, making sure to set the nerves on edge as she inserted one finger and curled to hit the g-spot within her lover. She did this repeatedly along with the consistent lap of her tongue from Regina's entrance to the sensitive bundle of nerves.

Emma said her thank you and relayed it back to Regina. She nodded and they both got up, she freshened them up, getting the smell of sex off their skin and then transported them to the hallway that led to the courtyard where the group was currently at.
Mal was still hugging everyone else as they walked out. Roni smiled at them, catching up with them as she came from the other side of the castle. All three of them greeted Mal.
Mal hugged Regina first and as they whispered to one another, Roni whispered over to her.
"Have you told her yet?"
"No, we never told her before she left. Though I think we are in the clear with how happy she looks considering she flew over paradise as Regina and I were making love." Emma sighed in relief
"Well isn't that convenient wolfie." she winked and laughed as Emma nudged her.
Mal looked over to Emma with a smile, the wolf took that as a cue that it was her turn.
"See Mal, told you a mission would make you come back looking as good as me. Well...almost." she teased and pulled the woman into a hug
Mal laughed, "missed you too you fleabag."
"Oh don't be like that. I'll have you know I saw a lizard the other day lick its own eyeball and my heart filled with sorrow as it reminded me of my dearest sister." Emma smirked
"Oh so a stupid lizard reminded you of me?" she smiled
"Even had the same color and everything." Emma grinned
"You bitch." Mal laughed and punched her arm playfully
"Well, at least you know I missed you."
"Oh, I can definitely tell, especially with flying overhead the lake and seeing you getting down and dirty. Good form I must say." Mal smirked at the blush that overcame Emma's cheeks
"Yeah well.." she scratched the back of her neck and looked down. She never liked talking about sex lives. She always thought they were to be kept between the two people involved. Growing up with Mal though, she had heard of every dalliance the dragon had.
"So when did you and Roni get so close?" she winked
"Mal you know I don't- Wait what?" she snapped her head back up to make sure she heard right
"Oh come on Emma, you've heard all of mine. I've been waiting for the days you actually found someone so we could share. So tell me, what's Roni like? She looks like she'd be wild." Mal chuckled
"Roni?" Emma rasped
"Yeah, you were with her when I flew over. From the looks of it, you were doing quite well. Could practically hear her all the way up to where I was flying." she grinned and patted her shoulder
"Mal-" She began to say but seeing the wolf's struggle, Roni stepped in
"Alright, alright. Talk all you want later. You hugged her, you bantered. My turn." she winked at Emma and pulled Mal into a hug
Mal pulled her up off the ground with the hug, causing them both to laugh
Regina came up to Emma, seeing and feeling her unease where there should be relief.
"Em, what's wrong?" she brushed a strand of hair from to the side and cupped her cheek to turn her face towards her
"She thinks it was Roni." she whimpered
"She thinks that's who you were with?" Regina furrowed her eyebrows
Emma just nodded and burrowed her head into her love's neck
The witch cupped the back of her head while she rubbed her back in comfort. Smiling at the small kiss placed where Emma's lips were. A little show of thank you, knowing this calmed her down.
Emma pulled away and caressed her chin with her thumb. Looking into her amber eyes.
"I love you. We will tell her once she is settled in and we get the chance. Okay?" Regina spoke to her, seeing Mal was walking up to them with Roni
But Emma didn't take her eyes off her, "Okay beautiful. I love you too."
They both smiled softly to one another. When the dragon came up Emma dropped her hand as Regina was the only one to turn away but entwined the hands together to not raise suspicion before they told her. All of them were known to hold hands and be close so it was no shock
"Come on, I say drink and have a girls night. Maybe go out on the town." Mal smiled
"Sounds like a great idea." Regina smiled
