One by one Justin eagerly turned the pages of the old textbooks, the rough paper rubbed in between his thumb and fingertips and brushed against the side of his palm, softly tickling his smooth skin. He sat lurched over his shiny wooden desk with an endless number of schoolbooks piled beside him. Grunting in frustration, he threw the book aside and rushed over the towering bookcase at the opposite side of his office.

From the green padded armchair in the corner of the room Juliet sat and watched Justin intently as he scavenged through the books. "Still nothing?" She asked timidly fiddling with a short strand of her blonde locks.

"No," Justin sighed walking back over to his desk with another dense book in his grasp, "I know Alex will be able to split her powers, the question is if this means Neave will receive enough of them to make her a wizard."

"But if she has power then won't that automatically make her a wizard?"

With a loud thud Justin dropped the textbook on to his desk, "technically no. If Neave doesn't receive enough powers then when she's older she won't have enough to actually use them. And if Alex transfers too much of her power then she won't be able to use the magic she has left and she will be classed as a mortal, which means her and Mason will still have to break up."

"So either way Alex or Neave would be mortal?"

"Yeah… which isn't what we want. I just need to think of a way Alex could only transfer a small amount of her own powers to Neave and then figure out how we could top up the magic Neave has so she'll be able to get her full powers when she's older." Justin paused in thought and rubbed the bottom of his chin, staring intently at the empty brick wall in front of him. within a brief moment Justin's eyes widened, and he snapped his fingers enthusiastically. "I got it!" He called.

He ran back over to the bookcase and frantically searched through the endless row of books, ripping them from the shelf and launching them on to the floor. Juliet watched on and cautiously edged closer to Justin, "what are we supposed to be looking for now?"

"A book about a headmasters magic."

"What, what do you mean a headmasters magic?"

"Just trust me, I know it's around here somewhere." He paused his search turned to Juliet, smiling woefully at her. "I'm sorry, this isn't much of a date is it?"

"Hey," she grabbed him by the arm and pulled him into a hug, "I'm just glad I have you back. Now, where's this book?"

Justin chuckled and placed a quick kiss on to her forehead, "thank you." He released her from their hug and pointed to a bookcase on the other side of his office, "if it's not in here it'll be in that one. Do you want to start looking?"

Juliet nodded eagerly and strutted over whilst asking, "do you think whatever's in this book can really help?"

"I know it can, I just hope I can find it before it's too late…"

Strolling hand in hand, Alex and Mason approached their apartment door. As Mason pulled out his key Alex grasped him by the hands and yanked him towards her before giving him a long lingering kiss. Her forehead rested against his. They both had their eyes closed and both their breathing patterns had become shaky. "Thank you," she said in barely more than a whisper.

"For what?" Mason replied, his voice low and husky.

"For tonight, you're the cutest," she opened her dazzling brown eyes only to find herself gazing in to his. She giggled and smirked at him, Mason leant back in and smashed his lips on to Alex's, feeling the stickiness off her lip gloss spread against his warm lips. They pulled apart, feeling breathless and unable to contain themselves anymore, Mason caressed Alex's blushed face in his hands and pulled her into a fiery and passionate kiss. Her hands worked their way around his body, feeling each crevasse, each line along his perfect physique. She abruptly stopped and cackled when she felt Mason's hands give a firm and hard squeeze on to her butt.

She hit him playfully, and they both laughed, "hey, why don't we get rid of Harper and we can take this somewhere more private?" Alex suggested.

"You're such a lovely friend," Mason said sarcastically, opening the door. They both walked into the apartment but stopped in their track when they saw Harper and Zeke making out on the couch. Their lips repeatedly brushed against each other and not innocently. It was like a tease but hot, fiery, passionate and demanding.

Mason turned away, blushing in embarrassment while Alex stood with her hands on her hips waiting for them to finish. As they both continued their kiss Alex cleared her throat loudly, one by one Harper's eyes opened and she caught a glance of Alex and Mason stood by the doorway.

"Alex!" She cried pushing Zeke off of her and jumping up from her seat, "how long have you guys been here?"

"Long enough…"

"Umm, well we better go!" Harper announced dragging Zeke up by his arm, "Neave's been great, she's in her crib." She then rushed towards the door puling Zeke behind her, "bye guys!"

She slammed the door shut and left Alex and Mason in silence. After a brief moment Alex burst into laughter, "can you believe them?" She asked Mason who was still blushing.

"Think they're back together?" He joked as Alex strutted toward shim and wrapped her arms around his neck

"That can wait," she whispered leaning her face towards his and softly kissing his lips. "Want to get comfy?" she smirked.

"Always," Mason smirked before pressing his lips back on to Alex's.

Carefully, Alex walked backwards and guided him to their bedroom but as they passed Neave's nursery they heard her soft voice call out, "ah-dah? Ah-dah!"

The couple groaned and rested their foreheads against each other, "and that's my cue," Mason sighed, "you go in and I'll be there in a minute." He playfully growled at Alex and tickled her sides causing her to cackle loudly.

"Okay! Okay! Just go!" She demanded playfully, "and hurry up!"

Alex sauntered into the bedroom and piece by piece she removed her jewellery, smirking to herself in the mirror she carefully fixed her hair. When she heard soft footsteps enter the room Alex called behind her, "so do you want me to undress myself or did you want-" She spun around and came face to face with Mason… who was cradling Neave in his arms. Alex gave a heavy sigh and rolled her eyes, 'seriously?' She mouthed to Mason.

Mason shrugged his shoulders as Neave reached out desperately for her mother mumbling, "Mumma, Mumma," with her pink pacifier stuffed in her mouth.

"How can I say no to that face?" He smiled snuggling into Neave lovingly.

Alex shook her head and grunted in frustration, she then reached out her arms to Neave in defeat. Neave instantly buried her head into Alex's neck and hugged her tightly, "you're such a mood killer," Alex told her before lying down on the bed with Neave still held tightly in her arms.

Neave looked up at her mom with her glossy brown eyes and pressed up against her, Alex rubbed Neave's back soothingly and felt the pink fluffy material on her footsie pyjama's. The rough fur on Neave's face scratched against Alex's arm, Alex watched her daughter intently as she drifted back off to sleep, mumbling quietly to herself as she began to rub her tired eyes. Mason lay next to them and softly caressed the hair on Neave's head, as his fingers delicately combed through her dark hair blonde highlights began to reveal themselves.

"She's getting your colouring," Alex stated yawning.

"Looks like it, sorry love," he smiled.

"It's okay, she's got everything else from you. She might as well have your hair colour too."

"She's asleep," Mason whispered whilst still playing with Neave's brunette locks. "Do you want me to put her back in her cot?"

"Nah," Alex yawned, "she can sleep with us tonight."

Mason wrapped his arms around both Alex and Neave, "this is becoming a little bit of a habit," he snickered.

"I don't care. She can still sleep in our bed even when she's eighteen if she wants too," Alex kissed the top of Neave's head. "Everything will be okay, right?"

"I hope so, I'll call Jillian in the morning and start getting things sorted."

"Mason, I'm scared…"

"Me too love, but we'll be okay."

"I hope so…"

Harper rested on a bench placed in the centre of Waverly Place, a sliver of moonlight spilled on to her, not enough to ignite the highlights of her fiery red hair but enough to illuminate the soft freckles spread across her face. Zeke dropped down next to her and coyly wrapped his arm around her shoulders, Harper tittered playfully but awkwardly removed herself from his grip and slid further down the cold metal bench.

"What's wrong?" Zeke asked concerned, "I thought we were okay now?"

"Well, yeah, but we never got to talk properly."

"We were busy," Zeke joked.

"No Zeke, seriously! We can't start a relationship if we don't talk about our problems, we haven't been together in over two years!"

"That's not my fault," Zeke muttered rolling his eyes.

Gently Harper took hold of Zeke's hand and stoked it softly, he turned to look at her and smiled when he saw her kind warm smile. "Zeke, I'm sorry I broke up with you. But you were just so childish and we were just in completely different places."

"I know, I know. But I've changed now, I've grown up, I've matured. I can be serious! I mean, I do still like the odd clogging shin-dig, but I won't run away from my problems anymore, or leave them for you to solve them."

"I'm sorry Zeke, I wasn't the best person to be in a relationship either. I was so hard on you and I just wasn't there to give you support when you really needed it."

"Hey, it's okay," Zeke said pulling Harper in to suffocating hug, "the main thing is that we know what we need to do to make things work this time and that we're back together."

"Yeah I guess we are," Harper smiled. She looked up at Zeke and placed a tender kiss on to his lips, when she pulled away a beaming smile appeared on Zeke's face.

He chuckled happily and squoze Harper's hands, "so, here we go again…"

"Yeah," Harper sighed and lowed her head as her body slumped down with it.

"Hey, what's wrong? I thought we were happy?"

"We are! It's just I feel bad for Alex. We're just starting a relationship and hers could be ending, you know how lonely she felt last time her and Mason broke up."

"Yeah but it' different now, she has Neave."

"Exactly! She'll be a young single mom, this will be so much harder on her, especially because she'll still be seeing Mason. Imagine being near the person you love, and you can't be with them."

"I've been there," Zeke admitted, "it's not nice but we'll be there for her. I won't take you away from her."

"I know you won't," Harper relaxed into Zeke's embrace, "thank you for being so understanding. I just don't want her to be alone if her and Mason can't be together."

"It's fine I totally understand, you're such a good friend to her. I hope Alex knows how lucky she is."

"I think she does…"

Upon waking, Alex burrowed herself into the warm, soft sheets. She rubbed the remainders of sleep from her eyes and gazed at the shut drapes which blocked the vivid light shining in from rosy sky. Alex groaned when she felt the harsh taps across the bottom of her back and reluctantly, she turned over to find Neave in a deep slumber, unknowingly kicking out at her mom. Alex sighed and rolled on to her back and stared up at the blank ceiling, whilst checking on Neave she had noticed Mason had made his escape from the bedroom.

Alex listened intently and faintly she could hear a muffled voice from the next room, with an exaggerated grunt she hauled herself out of the bed and into the living area. Creeping through to the next room, the door screeched open and Alex cringed as Mason turned his head and caught her sneaking into the room.

"Yeah, thanks Jillian," he continued, "I'll see you then. Bye." He whispered softly, "morning love, sleep well?"

"Okay thanks, would have slept better if Neave wasn't booting me in the back." Alex collapsed on to the couch next to Mason as he snickered and began to stare in to space. "Was that Jillian?"

Mason slowly nodded his head, "yeah I rang her about the thing."

"The thing? Do you mean transferring my powers to Neave?"

"Yeah," he sighed, "she asked did we want to do it today, so I told her yes. There's no point wasting anymore time."

"Right," Alex leant her head on to Mason shoulder and hugged his firm bicep, "so when are we meet her?"

"This afternoon at your parents, she said it would be better if were with them for support."

"Good idea, I'll have to call them. Let them know what's going to happen."

"Yeah, you best had…"

Alex looked up at Mason and kissed his cheek, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, I guess so, I just couldn't sleep thinking about everything. I'm going to go and check on Neave, she's been burning up in her sleep so I just want to make sure she's okay." Mason rose from his seat and headed towards the bedroom, he tiptoed in the room and quietly shut the door behind him.

Alex looked towards the bedroom door in despair, she refused to look away, even as her lips trembled and her shoulders heaved with emotion, unwilling to back down. Her dark lashes brimmed heavy with tears; her hands clenched into shaking fists, in a desperate battle against the grief. A lone tear traced down Alex's cheek, and just like that, the floodgates opened.

She wept, tears streaming from her deep brown eyes, loud, heaving sobs tearing from her throat, and still she did not look away. Not until her quiet sobs drove her to hug her knees did her determined gaze fall.

Justin flicked though the final page of the final book in his office, the tide of textbooks that littered the floor covered his office. He couldn't see even a square centimetre of the stone flooring. He rubbed his eyes as he scanned the page, Juliet's head rested on Justin's lap as she slept and softly he stroked her hair whilst he read the page. Justin gave an exhausted sigh as his eyes landed on the last line.

A smile then cracked Justin's face, adrenaline coursed through his veins. Justin's hands trembled and his eyes widened, he shook Juliet violently to wake her and jumped from his seat. He pranced around his office, treading on the mounds of books laying on the floor yelling ecstatically, "I found it! I found it!"

"Found what?" Juliet asked groggily.

"I need to call Alex! I need to stop her!" Justin continued pulling out his wand, "I need to call Dad, Mason, I need to call-"

"Justin!" Juliet interrupted marching over to him, "can you please explain what's going on?"

From nowhere Justin's wand began to ring, he hesitantly put it to his ear while Juliet watched on in interest. Clearing his throat, Justin answered the call, "hello? Professor Justin Vinchenso Pepe Russo speaking."

"Justin, it's Dad."

"Dad!" Justin exclaimed excitedly, "I was just going to call you!"

"oh, ok then. I just need to let you know, Alex just called she's transferring her powers to Neave this afternoon."

"What…"

"Yep," Jerry sighed sounding deflated, "Alex will be at the substation later if you want to come check on her, she's coming with Mason and Neave."

"So Neave's powers are going to be drained today too?"

"Yeah, it's actually going to be done here so they can have extra support if they need it."

"But Dad wait-"

"I'm sorry son I'm going to have to go, your mom's pretty upset. She's worried that Alex won't be able to stay with Mason, I better go reassure her."

"No Dad wait!"

Justin stayed on the line, but he was soon met with a dull tone as his father hung up on the call. Justin's arms dropped to his sides, his body felt hot and sweat started trickling down his neck. Justin gripped his chipped wand tightly and twisted it nervously in his hands. As his breath quickened, Juliet spoke, "Justin what's wrong?"

"I need to find Alex, before she does something she regrets."
