The Witcher: A Different Kind Of Wolf
I do not own Halo or The Witcher in anyway shape or form, they belong to their respective owners.
Sitting alone in the corner and away from the other UNSC personnel was the rooms sole Spartan-III and last remaining members of Noble Team, Jun-A266. They were wearing a set of olive-green Mjolnir Mark V power armour that he had heavily customised to suit his specialization in sniping and scouting; and resting in his lap was his SRS-99-AM Sniper Rifle that over the years had improved to better suit his needs.
It had been a couple of weeks since Reach had officially fallen and since he had seen what remained of his team after Carter had ordered him to extract Doctor Halsey. Since then he hadn't heard a word from them; not even from Auntie Dot who should've still been active…of course she could've been terminated to prevent the Covenant from learning any vital intel. Alas he doubted that was the case.
Carter, Emile and Alex might of managed to board the Pillar of Autumn after delivering the package to the Autumn and escaped Reach, but he wasn't going to get his hopes up; call it a gut feeling but he knew they were dead, every single one of them. From the what he saw in the pelican, the Aszod Breaking Yards were thick with Covenant; it would've taken nothing less than an entire company of Spartans to make it through.
"You know we don't bite, right?" The eyes of Noble was brought back to reality at the sound of the soft feminine voice that had a heavy accent that he couldn't quite place. Slowly looking up to the source of the voice, Jun saw one of the Spartan-II's standing in front of him.
As with the other SPARTAN-II's, she was wearing the latest model of the Mark V that Doctor Halsey had created for her Spartans that was in the standard olive green; then again the II's never seemed to customised their armour, and judging by how Halsey had reacted to seeing Jorge armour, he doubted that he was all that pleased when they did.
The Spartan had their EVA helmet underneath their arm, allowing him to see the person beneath the armour. She had dark brown hair that was pulled back into a short ponytail, cerulean blue eyes that twinkled in amusement, pale white skin as was the norm with all Spartans that spent their entire in the armour, scars littering her face and stood 6'11.
"Maybe I do." Noble Three retorted, his lips forming a slight smile as his fellow came and sat next to him using one of the bases many crates that managed to hold the weight of her armour, though it groan but other than that held her without any issue. "Putting on a bit of weight there, Spartan?"
Her response was to deck him in the arm, though it did little to keep the smile off both their faces.
"So why are you sitting alone?" The Petty Officer asked after an awkward silence became apparent.
"Its comfortable here." Jun shrugged as he lazily turned his head to look at her; though judging by her expression she clearly didn't believe him. "Anyway they," He began as he nodded his head to where the others were gathered." They're not my team; guess you could consider me the black sheep."
"That's only because since you've arrived you've been moping around and keeping to yourself." Kelly returned evenly with a pointed look.
"Sorry to break it to you but being the only survivor of your team can really damper your spirts."
"You're not the only person to lose people on Reach." The Rabbit frowned with a heavy glare." Beside you don't even know if they're dead. They may have gotten to the Autumn; who knows they might be sitting comfortably on the ship as we speak."
"I sincerely doubt it." Jun uttered expression his scepticism. "The Covenant were swarming all over the place; and even with three Spartans it was nothing short of suicide."
"There still a small possibility." Her words died as Jun chuckled hollowly.
"You may be renown for your speed but leave the lying to the professionals." Noble Three interrupted Kelly." Noble One, Four and Six may have been exceptional soldiers but even they couldn't survive a glassing. I just hope that damn A.I was worth it."
Kelly didn't say a word as the pair sat in silence once again; then what could she really say to him? Out of Blue Team she was probably the most optimistic; But even then, she knew that nobody, not even Chief and his unnatural luck could survive a direct glassing. Thinking of John, she hoped that he was alright, she hadn't heard of him since he had left with Linda.
"So," The fastest Spartan alive asked breaking the silence and hoping to cheer him up, even if it was only a little. "What were they like? Noble Team, I mean? I know what Jorge was like, big guy had more heart than anybody I know…I wish I could've seen him one last time before he…well you know."
CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
"Quicker, Eva!" The voice Noble Six voice rang out throughout the courtyard as raised his blade to block an attack from his first ever student. It had been a couple of days since he and Eva had arrived at the stronghold of the Witchers; or at least the ones that were apart of the school of the Wolf.
He had been surprised that his conversation with the Sorceress hadn't caused her to avoid him like the plague as he and even Dot had expected it too. Instead she seemed to go out of her way to speak to him every day since they had met. to be perfectly candid it was a nice surprise.
Dot had even introduced herself to the redhead, leaving the usually composed sorcerer lost for words. Even believing that she was some sort of mythical creature that had never been encountered; her response gave Six a great source of amusement, and left Dot more annoyed than anything else.
Dot then to the best of her ability began to explain to her to a woman that couldn't even grasp the thought of space-travel or ships that sailed the stars rather then the seas; then about their version of humanity and the Human-Covenant war. Following that she learned about their technology, how they had colonized worlds inside their solar system before branching out to the Orion arm as Humanity grew more and more populated.
By the end, Triss was horrified at such a coalition of species wiping out billions of lives all over religion; sure, it happened on their world but not at the level that the other group of humans.
But that was a few days ago. Right now, he was standing opposite the girl that he had promised to care for. He was wearing dark blue armour with a chain mail chest, shoulder pads, a hook on his belt that Trish had made for his large height and a steel blade in his hands. Eva was wearing a white shirt, dark leather trousers, leather boots and a shorter steel blade in his hands.
Raising his sword, Six blocked the strike from Eva pushed forward, knocking the girl back. Pressing the assault, the raven girl charge forward swinging the blade that was blocked by the Spartan with ease. Forcing her blade above her head as he pushed it up, B312 lightly kneed her in the stomach, forcing her to the ground.
"Don't just watch where my sword is." The Spartan chastised his student as he waited for her to get back up.
"It's not fair! Your mind can think of a way to adapt and you're taller and stronger than me! How am I meant to beat you when I can't even touch you?"
"You have to outthink me, predict where I will strike next." Noble Six explained to her. "You need to trust your gut because…."
"It's usually right." Eva finished with a groan "You always say that, I just have no idea how trusting my gut is supposed to help me win a battle!"
"Kick his ass, Eva! Don't let him beat you around!" A female voice cheered making the super soldier look over his shoulder to see the adopted daughter of Geralt and the man himself walking down the ramp approaching them both.
The girl was around sixteen-seventeen years old with ashen white hair that was tied into a loose ponytail with two bangs flowing freely down the side of her face, emerald green eyes with black mascara around them, a heart shaped face with a light skin complexion and soft facial features, small button nose, full pink lips and stood 5'7.
She was wearing a white blouse that showed of her neck and top of her chest, the blouse hugged her feminine figure tightly to prevent it getting caught to anything that clung to her bust that stretched every time he breathed in and out. She had a dark brown leather girdle that was around her waist, along with a metal belt that was holding up a dagger. She was wearing tight brown leather trousers that hugged her wide hips and firm backside, light brown boots and a steel sword on his back with a strap over his chest.
"Geralt." Noble Six greeted the white-haired man, getting one in return from the renown White Wolf; and a frown from his daughter at being ignored.
"Cirilla." The Hyper Lethal finally acknowledged the white-haired girl that could've easily been mistaken for the blood daughter of Geralt.
"My names is Cira. "She corrected airily crossing her arms over her chest and locked eyes with the super soldier.
"I was led to believe that your name was Cirilla?" Six asked plainly staring down at the girl. "You're the one that shortened it; I will address you by the name that your parents gave you." He finished as he blocked another attack from Eva then kicked her in the chest lightly making her eyes widen as she was kicked away after trying to do a sneak attack from behind while he was distracted. "Your too loud, Kid."
"Aren't you going a little rough on her? She's only nine years old for god's sake."Ciri chastised him, narrowing her emerald green eyes as she watched Eva climb to her feet, a little shakily but regardless she was once again up on her feet again.
"My drill instructor, Franklin Mendez made my training hell so that fighting wouldn't be. I intend to do the same for Eva."Six stated to the ashen haired girl, Geralt nodded his head slightly, he could understand where Six and this Mendez was coming from, his training so many years ago had saved had saved his life on more than one occasion.
"Well I don't like it."Ciri murmured getting a shrug from the Spartan-III commando.
"Well you're not training here, now are you?"The Lieutenant replied to her blankly which only seemed to piss her off more...stupid pretty boy. Turning his attention over to his student who was waiting patiently for her friend to finish his conversation.
"Drink break, Eva. Make sure you get hydrated. We'll resume our training in ten."Six told the raven-haired girl who have him a mock salute getting a small smile from the Lone Wolf before she sprinted away and up the hill towards the castle.
"How about a quick spar then, Mr Lone Wolf?"Ciri challenged the Spartan-III who turned his head to look at her hearing the challenging tone in his voice. "Unless you don't think you can handle this of course. "She asked him sarcastically as she rested her hands on her hips.
"Sorry but I'll have to refuse."
"Why? Afraid you'll lose? "The ashen haired girl taunted the super soldier as she walked up to him until she was directly
"No... I'd break you." The Spartan informed the young ashen haired girl stoically that made Geralt shake his head at the poor choice of words.
Ciri meanwhile tried to control the blood rushing up to her cheeks at the rather blunt statement from the Super Soldier."Cirilla? "Six asked her as he rested the back of his hand on her forehead," Hmmm you've gone pretty red and your forehead is pretty hot too...maybe you're coming down with a fever. You should go see Miss Merigold?"B312 suggested to the ashen haired teen who quickly smacked his hand away from her.
"I'm fine...just a little hot today is all."
"Actually, there's a nice breeze today."Geralt commented with a small hidden smile directed at his daughter who silently gritted her teeth in annoyance at her father figure before sending him a glare that promised immense pain if he didn't shut up that instant. "I think I can handle myself gigantor...so want to try your luck against me?"
Six remained silent for a moment as his blue eyes looked onto her emerald green ones that made her shuffle on the spot slightly, but she kept her composer as she stared defiantly at the Spartan-III. Alex shifted his eyes over to Geralt seeing if it was alright to spar against his daughter who nodded at him.
"Very well Cirilla...let's see if you've got those blades just for show. "The Grim Reaper commented getting a smirk from the ashen haired girl who felt slightly giddy at the chance to fight against a super soldier.
"Oh, I'll show you that they're not just for show…. but!"
"But?" Alex repeated curious to what her request would be; he suspected it was about going easier on Eva.
"If I win then you have to train me as well."Ciri stated surprising the Spartan, out of everything he thought she would ask for, training certainly wasn't one of them.
"Very well." Six agreed to her request. Not because she demanded to spar against him, but if she had been trained by the Witcher than it would allow him the opportunity to test his skills against a Witcher in everything but mutations.
"And you have to stop calling me Cirilla."
"Don't push your luck kid."
And cut! Well here is the next chapter of The Witcher: A different Breed of Wolf. I hoped you enjoyed it, even if nothing really happened. And judging from the reviews from the previous chapter then this story will probably remain a Six x Triss pairing rather then Six x Harem.
