Buffy and Angel stepped off the elevator into their penthouse and spotted Connor walking out of the kitchen. He gave them a big grin. "Welcome back!" He said, giving them each a hug. "How was the Valentine's slash belated birthday weekend getaway?"
"It was great." Buffy said. "We got a couples massage and drank all the wine and ate all the cheese…."
"And killed the proprietor when we discovered he was a Garani demon and had a basement full of women he was keeping as food." Angel finished. "But the massage was nice."
"And the food was amazing."
"You guys don't do anything halfway, do you?" Connor laughed.
"Apparently not." Angel said with a grin. He had surprised Buffy for Valentine's Day with a weekend trip to wine country. Wesley and Fred had helped him book it, picking out the extras for the couple to do together. It was the first time they had been on a getaway together and it had been so wonderful, he wanted to plan another one soon.
"Did we miss anything while we were gone?" Buffy asked as Angel took the bags to their room.
"Nah. It was pretty slow. The most action we've had was that guy from dad's past coming back to try and kill us and you were here for that."
"Didn't turn out so well for him." Buffy said. She had taken the vampire down easily when he'd snuck into the penthouse and tried to clobber her over the head. Angel had come in a moment after and identified the vampire as Lawson from his brief stint working for the US government during WWII. He had spilled the whole story out after rescuing Fred, Gunn, and Wesley and then staking Lawson.
"Guess he didn't do enough research."
Angel joined them just as the elevator doors opened again. Nina stepped out and looked surprised to find them there. "Hey!" She said.
"Hey, Nina." Buffy said. "Back for the Wolfram & Hart Bed-and-Breakfast?"
"Full moon cycle starts tonight, in…." She checked her watch. "48 minutes, actually." She smiled at Connor. "Had a little snag getting out of the house."
"Haven't told your sister yet, huh?" Connor asked.
"It's not the sort of thing that's easy to jump to in conversation. 'Oh, by the way, Jill, I've been a werewolf for 4 months. And that guy I've been seeing? He's the son of two vampires and the step-son of a Vampire Slayer.'" She kissed Connor quickly. "I told her I was going camping in the desert again. She's starting to worry I've turned into some new agey, moon-worshipping Wicca person."
"She might be relieved to find out that you're just a werewolf." Angel said.
"Seems like you're getting used to the routine, though." Buffy offered Nina a bottle of water she'd produced from the bar.
"Yeah. In a weird way, I'm starting to like it." Nina grinned up at Connor.
"So, you two are getting kind of serious, huh?" Angel asked.
"Really?" Buffy shook her head at Angel.
"What?"
"You can't put them on the spot like that right before she's gotta go lock herself in a cage for the night."
"Why?"
"That's too much pressure to put on them. Connor's still new to the dating thing."
"Standing right here." Connor said with a little wave.
"Sorry."
"I'm gonna escort Nina down to her cell." He hit the elevator call button and quickly ushered her into the elevator.
"Why can't I ask my son and his girlfriend if they're getting serious?" Angel asked, following Buffy into the bedroom.
"Because they're young and Connor's figuring out the dating thing and they don't need you, the old man, putting any pressure on them."
"I didn't think it was pressuring. I just want to know what her intentions with my son are."
"Honey, you're showing your age."
"What if she gets pregnant? The last time he…."
"Was manipulated into impregnating Cordelia's body with a Power That Was."
"Still, we never had the birds and the bees talk. What if he doesn't know to be careful?"
Buffy rolled her eyes. "He knows about protection and how to use it. And he knows where babies come from. Trust me, Angel, he's being careful."
"How does he know all that?"
"Weirdly, Holtz taught him about where babies come from. Xander taught him about protection."
Angel's eyebrows hit his hairline. "Xander!?"
She giggled at him. "Connor didn't feel comfortable asking either of us. So, he asked Xander about it."
"When?"
"When we were in England with the Slayers."
"Why Xander?"
"You'd prefer Spike taught him about that? Or Giles?" Buffy laughed at Angel's face. "Xander was a little flustered about it, especially when he told me that Connor had asked him, but he said he really didn't mind in the end. Besides, what would you be able to tell him about protection? It's not like we practice safe sex."
Angel coughed unnecessarily and looked away. "It's not like we need to."
"I know that. You're more sterile than a quarantine bubble except for that one time you weren't. And I seriously doubt that's happening again unless there's a prophecy out there about us. But one day, you'll be human and we're going to have to start talking about safe sex."
"That day's not here yet, so can we drop the sex talk?"
"After the weekend we had? You're over sex now? Have you had enough?"
He quirked an eyebrow at her. "Is that a challenge?"
Buffy started backing towards the bathroom. "I mean, I'll understand if you've had enough. You are almost 300 years old."
Angel let out a soft growl and hauled his wife back into the bedroom.
The next afternoon, Buffy was in her and Angel's office getting ready to pack it in for the night. She and Fred had plans to go out for a girls' night out and she wanted to head up to the penthouse to get ready for it. Just as she stood up, Angel walked in with a file.
"Hey!" She smiled at him and kissed him quickly. "Whatcha got there?"
"A case Fred just handed me." Angel handed her the folder.
Buffy opened the file and read through it quickly. "Seven kids going into a coma around the same time in front of the TV?"
"Fred thinks it's mystical. Parents said all the kids collapsed between 7:00 and 7:30 A.M. And all of them in front of the TV. I was going to follow up on the lead."
"You need me to go with you?"
"No. You and Fred have your dinner thing tonight. I don't want you to miss that. I can handle this."
"Are you sure?"
"Are you trying to get out of dinner with Fred?"
Buffy laughed. "No. I just wanted to make sure you had it. You haven't done anything solo in the last few months." He glared at her and she just laughed. "Have fun. I'm going to head up and get ready." She kissed him quickly and stepped into the elevator.
When Buffy returned from her dinner with Fred, Angel still wasn't back from his mission. Connor said he hadn't heard from his dad since he left. The two of them waited up until Buffy eventually told Connor to go to bed. She sat on the couch, staring out the window and waited for her husband to come home. Eventually, she fell asleep on the couch.
The next morning, she woke up to find a cover draped over her. Buffy headed into her bedroom, but their bed hadn't been slept in. She poked her head into Connor's messy room to find him still sleeping. Buffy skipped her morning routine and got dressed quickly, throwing her hair up into a messy bun and cleaning up her makeup from the day before. She headed down to the office and prayed that Angel was ok.
The elevator doors opened and she heard a sudden thud from the desk. Turning to it, she found Angel's chair spinning, but no one at the desk. "Angel?" She looked around, confused, but didn't see her husband. Just as she went to open their office door, another thud could be heard from under the desk. "Angel, is that you?"
She made her way over to the desk, but Angel's voice drifted out from under it. "Don't come any closer."
"What's wrong?"
"I just…. You should take today off."
"What?"
"Please, Buffy. Please just go back upstairs and don't come back down until I let you know it's ok?"
"That's not happening." Buffy rolled her eyes and walked around the desk, kneeling down to see why her husband was hiding from her.
"Buffy, no!"
She blinked at the little puppet imitation of her husband cowering under the desk. "What the…."
"Go away!"
Her eyes widened. "Angel?"
"Buffy….."
"What happened? How are you…. What are you…. Um…."
Just then, the office door opened and Fred poked her head in. "Angel? You all right? Oh, hey Buffy!" She walked in and was followed by Gunn and Wesley.
"You sounded weird on the phone." Gunn said.
"Yes." Wesley agreed. "Is there a problem?"
"Where is he?" Gunn asked, realizing that it was just Buffy crouching behind the desk. "What are you doing down there?"
"Um…." Buffy stood up and glanced under the desk again. "I think Angel is a puppet."
"What?"
Gunn laughed and Angel snapped, "Don't!"
Gunn quit laughing and looked at the desk. "Is he hiding under there?"
"Yes," Buffy said as Angel said, "No!"
"What's going on?" Fred asked.
Puppet Angel sighed and walked out from under the desk. He hopped up into his chair and turned to face the others. Buffy's eyes were bugging out of her head as she stared at the small, felt version of the love of her life.
"Whoa." Gunn said.
"Angel?" Wesley asked. "Is that you?"
"Oh, my God!" Fred rushed over to Pupper Angel. "Angel, you're…. cute!"
"Fred, don't." Angel warned.
It was too late, Fred was already inspecting him. "Oh, but the little hands! And the hair…." She scratched his head and he slapped her hand away.
"Hey! You're fired."
"Sorry I am late, gang." Lorne announced as he walked in. "What's with the big puppet?"
"Angel, what happened?" Buffy asked.
"I'm not sure." Angel sighed. "I went over to Smile Time last night, and I think their office is under some kind of spell. I could feel it trying to get at me. I shook it off, but then I met this guy with a towel over his head, and something exploded! I woke up like this." He made a noise of disgust.
"Clearly some sort of hex…." Wesley said. "Or a powerful warding magic."
"Maybe it's some type of puppet cancer." Lorne suggested.
"I do not have puppet cancer!" Angel growled. "Come on, guys. This is a serious situation. I'm a puppet, and there are children's lives at…. Hey, it's Smile Time!" Angel gasped. He jumped down and waddled toward the TV in the connected conference room. Everyone looked at Buffy, but she just shrugged and watched her puppet husband get frustrated with the remote. He started to slam the remote against the table. "Stupid plastic piece of crap!" He realized that everyone was staring at him. "What?"
"I'm just going to take this." Buffy plucked the remote away from him and turned the TV on.
"This transformation may have altered your stress-response mechanism." Wesley observed.
"What?" Angel asked.
"He's saying that you have the proportionate excitability of a puppet your size." Gunn clarified.
Two of the puppets on the TV were having a conversation. Fred walked over to the phone and dialed an extension. "Tracy, record the program that's running on channel 12 right now. Use everything. I'm gonna need a full-spectrum analysis."
Buffy watched Angel as he watched the puppet show. He was clearly growing angrier as the show went on and had started making grunting noises and balling his fists. Just as she was about to say something to him, he exploded. "Wes, put the special ops team on red alert!"
"Red alert?" Wesley asked, looking at Buffy.
"I want helicopters and tear gas!"
"Angel…." Buffy started.
"This is war!"
"Angel, baby, muppet, pumpkin, uh, this show is number one in its time slot." Lorne soothed. "Tykes love it all across the Southland. We can't just toss a Jihad at their studio."
"Oh." Angel took a breath. "Right. Lorne, who runs Smile Time?"
"Oh, that's Gregor Framkin. Yeah, real rags to riches. Started out in a garage with a couple of used couches and a glue gun. He turned it into a puppet gold mine."
Before Angel could explode again, Buffy took charge of the situation. "Lorne, can you and Gunn head over there and meet with Framkin, please?"
"Put pressure on him! Make him crack!" Angel demanded. "Let him know we're onto him."
Buffy sighed. "Fred and Wes, think you can figure out what Framkin did to those kids?" She looked at Angel. "And to Angel?"
"Absolutely." Wesley promised.
As everyone turned to leave, Angel called out, "Uh, guys? This, uh, condition of mine? It's classified until further notice, ok?" They all nodded and left the office. Buffy watched Angel rub his forehead as he watched the creepy puppet show. He seemed to realize she was watching him and looked up at her. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" Buffy asked.
"For getting turned into this." He gestured angrily at himself.
"I seriously doubt you could've known that would happen."
"What if it's permanent?"
"Then I'll have Gunn divorce us and I'll move on to Spike." Puppet Angel's face registered shock and anger and Buffy laughed. "Angel, it's not permanent. We are going to fix this, so you have nothing to worry about."
As if he had been summoned, Spike burst in through the office doors. "Hello! Need another car. Afraid this last one ended up in the drink…."
"Spike…." Angel started as Buffy went to grab the bleach-blonde vampire.
Spike dodged out of Buffy's grasp and pointed at Angel. "Look at you."
"Just turn around and walk away." Buffy pleaded.
"You're a…."
"Spike!" Angel growled.
Spike started to laugh uncontrollably. "You're a bloody puppet!"
Angel suddenly launched himself at Spike, knocking them both through the office windows and into the lobby. Buffy yelled for them to stop, but Angel and Spike began rolling around punching each other. Spike couldn't stop laughing, though, which only pissed Angel off more.
"Stop it!" Buffy yelled at them.
"You're a wee, little puppet man!" Spike laughed. Angel landed a solid punch in Spike's face. "Ow! Hey!"
"That's enough!" Buffy yelled, yanking Angel off of Spike.
"Angel, what the hell happened to you?" Spike asked. "You look ridiculous."
"Spike, just leave." Buffy ordered, holding puppet Angel against her chest.
"Oh, my God." Harmony yelped. "Angel, you're a…."
"Shut up!" Angel barked. "Buffy, put me down!" Buffy realized she was holding him like a stuffed animal and set him down on his feet. "What are you people looking at? Well?"
"They're looking at the wee, little puppet man." Spike laughed.
"Ugh!" Buffy groaned as Angel launched himself at Spike again. Their fight took them into the elevator just before the doors closed. Loud thuds could be heard from inside the elevator as the two idiot vampires fought.
"Stupid limey piece of crap!" Angel yelled. A final thud sounded and the doors opened again. Spike was collapsed on the floor and Angel marched back into the lobby. "Yes, I'm a puppet. Doesn't mean you don't have work to do. Harmony, get my call list."
"Um…." Harmony looked at Buffy in confusion.
"And Spike needs a car."
"You heard the puppet." Spike said, getting to his feet.
He hit the floor again when Buffy punched him in the face. She turned and followed Angel into the office, closing the door behind her. Angel was standing at the windows, staring out at the city. "I can't work today."
"Why not?" Buffy asked, walking over and sitting down on the couch.
"Look at me! No one will take me seriously."
"I mean, it's not exactly an ideal look for you, but you definitely scared everyone out there just now. I don't think this look will phase them too much after that."
Just then, the private elevator doors opened and Connor stepped out. "Hey, Buffy. Where's dad?" He spotted Angel standing by the couch. "What's that?"
"That's dad." Buffy said.
"Huh?"
"Your dad got turned into a puppet."
Connor blinked at Angel then looked at Buffy. "No, seriously."
Angel gestured at himself. "I went to investigate this kids show and walked away like this."
Connor stood there for a moment, staring unblinkingly at his dad in puppet form. Just as Buffy was getting ready to ask if he was ok, he let out a giggle. Angel's eyes widened and Buffy bit her lip to keep from laughing. "I'm sorry." Connor tried to sober up, but he started laughing and couldn't stop. Buffy held out for a few seconds, but she couldn't stop her laughter either.
"I hate both of you." Angel griped.
"Oh, come on, dad! This has got to be the most ridiculous situation you've ever been in!"
"I can't think of anything that could top it." Buffy laughed.
"Says the woman who shared a dream with her friends about a cheese man."
The blonde Slayer shook her head, still laughing. "That's not even close to this."
Once Connor's laughter had reduced to sporadic giggling, he asked, "So how long will you be like this?"
Angel shrugged. "I don't know. Everyone is working on figuring it out."
"And how to stop them from hurting kids." Buffy added.
"That too." Angel sighed. "Can we please do some work while we wait for the others?"
Buffy walked over to the desk and flipped through her planner. "We have a meeting in twenty minutes with the head of a shelter for homeless Glipfusse demons."
Angel's face fell. "I can't go to that looking like this!"
"Why?" He glared at her with all his fuzzy anger, but it just made her grin. "Stop it!"
"I can't help it. You're just adorable!"
That caused Connor to start laughing again. Angel whirled around to glower at his son. "You're grounded."
"Oh, Angel, would you give it a rest? Connor, you're not grounded. I would suggest you head back upstairs, though."
"Actually, I'm going to head out with Nina. She's introducing me to some of her friends."
"That sounds nice and normal."
Connor shrugged. "Any advice?"
"Just be yourself and don't work too hard to impress them. If they're anything like Nina, they'll like you."
"What if they don't?"
"Screw em." Angel said.
"What your tiny felt father means is: if they don't like you for you, then you don't need to worry about them. Or they could be evil. In which case, you do have to worry about them."
"That's not exactly comforting." Connor said.
"Connor, they're going to like you. I promise."
He smiled and kissed her cheek. "Thanks, Buffy. I'll see you guys later."
Angel waited until Connor was on the elevator before turning to Buffy. "How are you so good with him?"
Buffy shrugged. "No idea."
"I always knew you would be a good mother."
She blinked at him. "No I wouldn't."
"Yes, you would. Look how you are with Connor!"
"I treat Connor like an equal. Like a human being who has feelings and emotions and I let him know that they're valid. He knows that he can talk to me about anything."
"That's part of being a mother."
Buffy made a face, clearly not comfortable with the mother talk at the moment. "Well, we're a long way off from even thinking about being parents. Besides, you're even more useless in that area now than when you were a vampire. Are you even anatomically correct?"
Angel waggled his furry felt eyebrows at her. "Wanna find out?"
"Ew. No." She gathered up her planner, notebook, files, and a couple of pens. "I'm going to this meeting. Are you coming?"
Angel sighed. "No. Go without me. You're better at this than me, anyway."
"Ok." Buffy shot him a smile before walking out of the office.
He watched her go, the door to the office closing behind her. After a moment, he reached down and pulled out the waistband of his pants. "Oh! You've got to be kidding me!"
Wesley and Fred walked into Buffy and Angel's office the next morning. Angel was sitting at the desk looking through notes that Buffy had taken from the meeting the day before. She was out getting some coffee at the moment. They had had a rough night. Angel was grumpy and short thanks to his transformation. He and Buffy had argued about stupid things and she had locked him out of the bedroom.
"It's all in the broadcast!" Wesley announced. He looked around. "Where's Buffy?"
"Here," Buffy said, walking in and sipping from a mug of coffee. "So, what's in the broadcast?"
"Some very nuanced magic, but we found it, finally."
"It's a hidden carrier wave masked by a spell that turns the TV into a 2-way conduit with direct access to the viewer." Fred added.
"That's how he's been draining energy from the children, and judging from the strength of yesterday's signal…."
"Framkin's ready to take out the whole audience."
"The object you described in that secret room is most likely a repository for the children's life force. We'll have to break the binding magic on it."
"Which should free those children and reverse your puppet problem."
Angel gasped and jumped out of his chair. He rushed over to Fred and hugged her legs with overenthusiastic gratitude. "I love you guys!" Fred noticed Buffy's annoyed eye roll and looked down at Angel as he stepped back. "Oh, we'd better get moving. Framkin knows we're onto him. If he's ready to zap his whole audience, he'll pull the trigger today for sure."
Gunn strolled into the office just then. "Not him. Them."
"Them who?" Buffy asked.
"The puppets. They're demons. The show is possessed. Smile Time's ratings hit an all-time low last year. Framkin made a deal with some devils to bring it back to number one."
"You sure of that?" Wesley asked.
"Dead sure. Every contract signed with the lower planes is filed in the Library of Demonic Congress."
"That's a thing?" Buffy asked.
Gunn chuckled. "Yeah. Anyway, the contracts have some pretty tricky legalese. Framkin must have missed some of the fine print."
"Which allowed them to take over everything."
"Including Framkin. These particular devils have a fairly distinctive M.O."
"They've done this before?" Fred asked.
"You see the last few seasons of Happy Days? Point is: you wanna take out Smile Time, take out the puppets."
"Well, then," Angel yanked a sword off the wall. "Let's take out some puppets."
The elevator dinged just then and Connor stepped off. He looked at his puppet dad holding a sword and Buffy still sipping her mug of coffee. "What did I miss?"
Buffy set down her coffee. "Nothing yet. We're going to kill some puppets. Wanna join?"
Connor shrugged. "Sure. Do I have time to say good morning to Nina?"
"No. We've got to move now!" Angel growled.
"I'll have Harmony tell her where you've gone." Buffy said, handing Connor a battle axe.
"Thanks." Connor said, accepting the axe.
They turned and followed Angel, Wesley, and Fred towards the elevators.
Angel disappeared dramatically as soon as they entered the studio. The puppets were in the middle of the show and didn't notice them come in. "Listen, kids." Polo, the head puppet, was saying to a camera. "Today is gonna be an extra-special best show ever! But only if everyone at home can give us a hand. Now get up and come over here. That's it, everyone. Just keep your hands right there. Oh! Oh, let it go! Let it all go! After all, it's Smile Time!"
"No, it' not." Angel announced, standing with his sword on top of a dog house. "It's time to kick your ass all the way back to hell!"
"You!" Polo cried, swinging around.
Buffy looked up at Connor as Angel attacked Polo. "Your father is so dramatic sometimes."
"Still mad at him about last night?" Connor asked with a chuckle.
"Not so much mad as still annoyed. Hopefully we'll get him back to normal and his big emotions will fit in his big body." Buffy noticed that the staff of the show didn't even notice what was going on around them.
"Hey, man! You're ruining the show!" Groofus yelled at Angel.
Buffy easily sliced the puppet's head off with her scythe before he could attack Angel. "Working on it, actually."
"Angel!" Gunn yelled. Buffy turned to see her husband missing his sword as he was thrown into the dog house.
"It's a full-scale attack!" Polo yelled. "Ratio! The nest egg!" Angel grabbed Polo and hauled him into the dog house.
"Connor, go guard Wes and Fred." Buffy said. "Gunn and I can take care of the puppets."
"You got it!" Connor ran off to join Wesley and Fred. They were on a separate mission to get rid of the egg.
Suddenly a puppet girl jumped on Buffy's back, trying to grab her around the head to break her neck. Buffy easily reached up and grabbed the puppet's hair, tossing her off her back. The puppet didn't stay down long, she ran at Buffy again screaming like a banshee. Buffy raised an eyebrow at the creepy little thing and cut her in half with the blade of her scythe.
Another puppet was giving Gunn a hard time and Buffy rushed over to help him. She yanked the puppet off of Gunn and held its wriggling form away from her. Gunn got to his feet and hefted his axe. Buffy tossed the puppet in the air and Gunn swung his axe home, chopping the puppet's head off. The two turned to watch Angel's and Polo's fight.
"I'm gonna tear you a new puppet hole, bitch!" Polo yelled. Angel overpowered him and tackled him to the ground. He wrapped his hands around Polo's throat and squeezed. "So, you got a little demon in you."
"I got a lot of demon in me." Angel switched to vamp face and Polo gasped. "Now, come on!"
Buffy looked up at Gunn and chuckled at his horrified face. He looked back at her and said, "You know, Angel's vamp face never bothered me too much once I got used to it. I ain't never getting used to that one."
"Hopefully we won't have to." Buffy said as Angel finished off Polo.
He shifted back into his human face and glared at Polo as its remains hung on the treehouse's railing. "You guys good?"
"Yeah." Gunn said. "We're good."
"Where's Connor?"
"Helping Fred and Wesley." Buffy said. There was an explosion down the hallway and the three of them ran out to see a bright white light coming from the egg room.
Connor and Buffy were enjoying the roller coaster at the Santa Monica pier for the second time that evening. It had been three days since they had shut down Smile Time and Angel's condition was slowly improving. He was catching up on work all day and Buffy had decided to treat Connor to an evening at the pier he loved so much. They got off the ride, laughing at the top of their lungs.
Angel watched from the shadows of nearby booths and smiled. He was finally back to himself. While working on some paperwork, he had suddenly turned back into his normal body. Instead of finishing his work, he had immediately rushed out to find his wife and son.
As Connor led them over to a funnel cake stand, Buffy felt the familiar tingle run down her spine. She spun around to look at the crowd but didn't see him. Connor came back over to join her and ask what was wrong, but she shook it off. When the two of them turned back around to the funnel cake stand, Angel was standing at a nearby table with a large, hot funnel cake topped with extra powdered sugar. He grinned at them.
Buffy raced over and jumped in his arms. "You're back!"
"I'm back." He leaned forward and captured her lips with his. They shared a long, heated kiss that garnered some whistles around them.
Connor rolled his eyes as his father and stepmother ignored everyone as they happily reunited. Finally, they broke their kiss and turned to Connor. "Welcome back, dad." He said around a mouthful of funnel cake.
"When did it happen?" Buffy asked.
"Not long ago," Angel said, nuzzling his nose in her hair. "I came here right after it happened. I missed you."
"I've missed you, too."
"Still mad at me?"
"I wasn't mad. I was annoyed. But you're back and things will go back to normal now."
"As normal as our group can actually get." Connor said, powdered sugar falling from his lips.
Buffy laughed. "True."
"Hey, dad, come ride the roller coaster with us when we're done eating."
Angel looked at the large contraption behind him dubiously. "Um…."
"It's so much fun! And you like going fast. Look at your cars."
"I think the last roller coaster I rode was the Switchback Railway at Coney Island." Buffy and Connor blinked at him. "It was the first roller in America."
"Oh." Connor nodded. "Ok, but this one has got to be way more fun."
Buffy smiled and reached up to whisper something naughty in Angel's ear that they could do on the roller coaster. His eyes widened and he grabbed her hand. "Our funnel cake!" She cried.
"I'll buy you another." Angel laughed, leading the way to the coaster. They left Connor standing there with the funnel cake making a disgusted face at the two. It would be a long time before he would ride that coaster again.
