chapter 11

Noctis didn't know what happened. Kaya had been so fine a while back but now she was an emotional mess. this happened so fast that the raven head didn't have time to think how to react so he kept his composure calm and drove.

the ride back home was quite an uncomfortable one because Kaya was too quiet and upset. He wasn't used to her being like that, so it was an uneasy feeling. the car came to a halt and Kaya quickly unbuckled herself, slipping out. She didn't even wait for Noctis, usually she would let him come over and get the door for her, because he just did so but today it seemed she didn't want to have any interactions from him. that's when it dawned upon Noctis, he had been absent from the apartment for quite a while. Kaya must have been feeling lonely and didn't know how to manage herself.

He followed after her quietly inside the apartment, shedding off his jacket he let his phone rest on the couch before making his way into the bedroom where Kaya had headed off. She sat there, with her head down and her hands clasped firmly into her lap as if she were trying to hold something. She was trying to hold her emotions in, intentionally or unintentionally, Nate had triggered her sense of reasoning and she was able to see and realize how everything was using her. everything related to this relationship, was against her. She couldn't help but think what would happen of her after Noctis does part from her life... would she be Okay? would it be Okay? would it be easy? letting him go...?

"Can... Can I ask you something?" She spoke, her tone low, tears slowly drying against her cheeks as she looked up at her husband. Noctis stared at her quietly for a moment before nodding and came to sit next to her. It didn't matter, the distance between them as they sat. It didn't bother Kaya as much as the distance between their hearts did... She looked up at Noctis as if she wouldn't ever see him again. as if this was the last time.

"When you said yes for the marriage... did you think of me?" She asked. and Noctis wondered what that question meant. He didn't think of her... at all. Now that he thought of it, he had only thought of Kaya when he had just left Luna a text or dropped her home... only when he had time to spare... It sounded quite mean.

"Did I... think of you?" He repeated that question in a tone unsure. He couldn't remember his thoughts at that moment, He just saw his father... with a pained hope glistening onto his face. Hope that maybe for once, Noctis will listen to him. Let him correct what he had wronged... find him someone worth living with, someone worth cherishing him.

Kaya stared at him with the same pained hope on her face. a hope for something that Noctis couldn't quite tell what was. He couldn't bring himself to think so closely of Kaya. Part of the reason was that he didn't know her that well, and mostly because... it's never going to matter. this marriage had to come to an end soon enough and they will have to part so why get attached? neither did he think or wanted Kaya to have any unnecessary feelings for himself, or it would leave him feeling guilty for the rest of his life that he had broke her heart...

"I did think of you... I..." Noctis looked at Kaya, couldn't help feel like he was lying. She could see it in his eyes that he was hesitant to his answer, unsure...

a faint smile crept upto her lips as she looked down at her hands. Her empty hands... like her empty heart... and her empty life...

"What did you think about me...?" She couldn't help but ask. Her heart wouldn't resist. It forced her to look for the slightest hint of her wish to be fulfilled... someday... maybe... Noctis couldn't figure out what was Kaya trying to look for, but he could tell she was looking for something. within him, within his answers, within his gaze. He didn't know what was the question aimed at. His reasons towards marrying her, his concerns towards her? or maybe...

"I thought of you being... a hope." Noctis replied, a faint smile on his lips. He had indeed seen a hope in Kaya, hope that if Regis didn't understand, she will and if she does, then maybe Regis will too... some day. Having Kaya as his support, Noctis didn't feel as weak and as helpless as before... it was a strange feeling.

Kaya could only watch him, sometimes his words confused her feelings. Everything Noctis does or says just happens to stirr her feelings for him everytime. Just like right now, Kaya couldn't decide if she should be glad that he looked upto her as a strength or she should be upset that soon enough, she will only be an option that Noctis will gladly reject...

"But there is no meaning of a hope without a dream... is it?" Kaya replied, questioning her place. and importance... it was true. Did she have any purpose other than being a bridge for the truth of Noctis and Luna's relationship to Regis? what would she be after that is done...? where would she stand in Noctis' life then?

"When your dream comes true... what happens to the hope?" Kaya asked, almost desperate for the answer. Noctis could only stare at her, wondering the same question.

Hope. Hope is just the need for motivation, what if... is a hope. what if Regis approves of Noctis and Luna's relationship... Kaya was here to change this "what if" into happening... She couldn't see any befitting purpose of herself. Her sister's words rung in her ears.

"Only YOU will suffer this choice if you make it..." Her sister had told her clearly as their father had asked Kaya for confirmation to what Regis had announced... She could tell what her sister had seen then... She had seen what was to come...

Noctis just watched Kaya quietly, he couldn't tell how or why this conversation had anything to do with Kaya's sudden emotional out burst. He could only tell that Kaya was keeping something to herself herself alone. something that he was a part of as well... He was very dense. maybe because he couldn't even think that Kaya could have any feelings towards him other than of maybe sympathy...? or responsibility...

She held back a sigh and wiped her cheeks, letting her hands rest against them for a moment, to grab herself and put together.

"I'm sorry." She said looking at Noctis, forcing a smile that was as awkward and made up as her courage right now.

"I was just..." She knee Noctis wouldn't believe her even if she said what she was feeling at the moment.

"Missing your family?" He filled in for her, a faint smile on his lips. Kaya stared at him quietly for a moment, she could only watch him... as long as he was there... for who knows, will she be ever seeing him again after...

She nodded, holding back a smile that forged it's way out as a fake assurance. Kaya didn't know what to do, a part of her wanted Noctis to realize what she felt then at the same time she didn't want him to find it out... maybe she was afraid if it would change the way he looked at her. after all, she wanted to be anything but his regret...

"See? I knew it. you have just been too... alone lately. that's why I wanted to take you out for breakfast but uh..." He replied with a sigh. He'd been looking after spending some time with Kaya, get to know her but it seemed they weren't in sync. at least for now.

"Well, why dont we order something? because I'm starving?" Noctis added, with a halfhearted smile and pulled out his phone.

Kaya nodded getting up, and adjusted her clothes. Today could have been a great day, with just her and Noctis... but that guy just had to ruin it. What was his problem? He had managed to distance her from Noctis, the distance she had been trying to erase since day one...

"What do you want to eat?" Noctis asked looking at Kaya, noticing her lost expression She was still thinking... but about what?

"Kaya?" He called again and she responded with a surprised look. Almost as if she had heard someone she hadn't heard in a long time.

"What do you want to eat?"

Kaya couldn't tell what was it about Noctis that was bothering her so much suddenly. was it the attention he pays to Luna? and doesn't have time to give to her? or was it the consequences of his decision? what she couldn't admit was the reason. that if Noctis were to succeed in telling Regis of this marriage being merely for his satisfaction and that he loved Luna, couldn't possibly leave her... what then?

She remained quiet and mostly lost in the thoughts for the most of the day, Noctis decided to stay in with her and spend some time. Luna kept texting him, asking to meet but he made up the excuse of being out with Prompto and others. Nothing was as productive as usual, they had breakfast together, then watched some T.V afterwards. they could only exchanged a few words once in a while about Kaya's family and if they should visit. It hasn't been a week and if they showed up, Kaya was sure that her sister would eventually dig up the truth. She had been accurate to her assumptions since the beginning, and she wouldn't hesitate spilling everything out to Regis. She seemed to despise Noctis for whatever reasons and didn't approve of this marriage.

the next morning...

"Library?" Noctis asked, sipping from his tea that apparently he had made for both of them since Kaya had been disoriented for a while so he wasn't sure if she will know the difference between sugar and salt.

Kaya nodded looking down at her cup. She didn't need to worry about Nate. It was a public place, he couldn't possibly annoy her more than he had back at the restaurant.

"Well if you want, I can drop you on my way?" Noctis suggested, since he was going out. He wondered if she was still upset for the last time...

"No. I'll be fine, I know the way." She replied, with a smile assuring enough. Noctis shrugged his shoulders. "Well if that's what you want, but what if you got lost?" He added, with a playful chuckle. Kaya didn't think it was funny but she couldn't manage more than a smile.

"I won't..." She replied. She had lost her way long ago... and it seemed impossible to go back...

the day had started off as usual, Kaya waking up way before the sun (at least that's what Noctis thought) and getting the breakfast prepared, then sending her husband off.

"Look..." Noctis spoke, turning back around and looking at Kaya, who stood at the door watching him with an amused smile. This was the first time he had turned after stepping out of the apartment, it felt strange...

"If you need me... just call me. Okay?" He added. He felt he was being unfair to Kaya, never there for her when she needed him. He was indebted to her, she could have told Regis about this the day she had found out. but she didn't. she remained quiet and listened to Noctis, understood his reasons and insecurities... it wasn't easy to give up everything for the sake of someone else despite knowing you'd get nothing in return... nothing at all.

"I will. Have a nice day and please look after yourself." Kaya replied waving at him. She had managed her smile so well that for the time being Noctis felt assured that everything was Okay.

after Noctis left, Kaya changed into a slightly formal wear, a dress of course. She never liked jeans, or shorts. call her ancient, but she thought modesty suited her. It also gave a feel of safety and warmth, being covered in layers. She pulled on a coat to protect herself from the cold that possibly could freeze her outside, before stepping out. She had been out on her own, but not for the purpose of outing, almost shopping. ALWAYS.

a while later...

Kaya didn't know why she felt the need to do this, but she thought if she didn't visit the library today, or didn't visit anymore, Nate would think he succeeded in bringing her down and breaking her confidence that she had been struggling to develop, the strength she needed to face the bitter reality of her situation and the worst, of the outcome. He seemed to have a problem with her silence against Noctis, almost as if she was committing a sin staying silent and letting things go as they pleased. She couldn't see the wrong in being the sacrificing one... but what would it get her in return?

She stood outside the library, her heart beat slightly fast and her fingertips cold as she clenched her fists. She was here just to spend the time, just to find something worth reading, getting lost in the flow of time for the time being... was she?

Nate's words began to ring in her ears as she made her way inside. She was sacrificing her self respect for the sake of Noctis and letting herself be used in the worst way possible... It was the truth but it was cruel and if Kaya accepted it. She won't be able to look up at herself, without feeling the burden of her own mistake that endangered her very faith in herself... who would she have to blame? no one... She would know this was her choice. this was her mistake... and the regret would rot her from the inside...

shaking her head out of these distant unnecessary thoughts, she made herself quietly inside and grabbed a book. She couldn't even decide what she needed to read today, she had forgotten the book she was reading a day before...

"So you came?" spoke Nate, from a distance from Kaya's chair. She didn't think he could be here... or she did think he could be here...

She looked up from the uninteresting pages of her book and at the expected stranger. Nate knew Kaya would come, even if she didn't have the need to read. She came here, he was sure, to prove him wrong. to reason with him that she had reasoned with herself before making this drastic fruitless choice. She just watched him quietly as he welcomed himself into the seat next to her, taking a curious look at the book laying before her.

"This isn't your book." Nate replied, pointing at it. Kaya knew very well that it wasn't her book. She wasn't going to get anything useful from reading it. It's just a waste of time...

"Its not yours either..." She replied, staring into the stranger's eyes, standing her tone firmly. Nate knew what was she talking about, a faint smile creeping upto his lips as he nodded.

"Because I'm curious?" He replied leaning back into his chair.

"So am I." Kaya replied closing the book and turning to the stranger, her attention completely to him. She had a firm expression, of questioning. She wanted to know the reason why Nate did what he did.

"About what? this book? or to know that whatever you get from reading this will be useful to you or not?" Nate replied, staring at Kaya curiously. He could see she was trying to prove something not to him, but to herself. He was just an excuse... a motivation to this purpose maybe?

the question caused Kaya to think, for a moment. the first few pages were enough if she were curious about what this book had to offer... but what about the knowledge inside it.

"If you want to know if this book is useful to you or not, you're going to have to read it to the end. maybe, maybe something of your interest could be inside it in the later chapters? but what if there isn't...?" Nate added, much to Kaya's dismay. She looked up at him, her expression softening.

" It would only be a waste of time... time that you don't have..." Nate whispered leaning closer, his smile deflating a bit at Kaya's expression which began to drown more and more into a timid one.

"What do I do then...?" She spoke, finally at her limits of patience. Nate sighed grabbing the book, Kaya watched him quietly as he took the book with him and went to put it where she had brought it from. He pulled out another book and came over, placing it before Kaya before sitting down.

"Find a book that is worth your time." He replied. Kaya looked down at the book that he had just laid before her, her eyes widened slightly. this was the book that she read when she had been reading a day ago...

"You think I don't know your interest?" Nate replied, letting a out a faint chuckle and tapped onto the book.

"You're a very dense girl, Kaya. you know that?" He added, an amused look on his face that Kaya couldn't find the reason to...

"Why did you do that?" She finally asked, grabbing the book and held it against herself staring at Nate. He wasn't as mean and terrifying as he had been yesterday.

Nate sighed, looking around. He didn't think she could have guessed he had a motive behind what he did at the restaurant. She was smarter than he'd thought. It was a long story and this was an library, they couldn't possibly be conversing about something of sorts at this place.

"Do you wanna get some coffee? I'll pay." Nate suggested, a faint smile on his lips that Kaya very much doubted. It took her a moment to react but she agreed. She didn't want to take the book home, all of her time at the apartment was for Noctis... even if h wasn't there...

"Do you have family?" Nate asked, looking at Kaya curiously. She hated the look he had on his face right now, as if she was the most interesting thing in the world right now. It creeped her out.

"I do... my dad, my sister... and a younger brother." She replied, keeping her gaze off Nate and walked along, the cold brushing against her cheeks causing her to shudder.

"Did they object to this marriage?" Nate asked, he had a feeling someone was sensible enough to have done so.

"My older sister, Kiara... She thought it was stupid of me to stay yes to marry a man I didn't know anything about." She replied. and Nate couldn't help but laugh earning a drained glare from the girl.

"Haven't you heard "you can't marry a man you just met."?" He replied and Kaya could tell he was attempting to mock her. She rolled her eyes crossing her arms.

"I know Sir Regis... he had been nothing but kind to me... and he needed me to marry Noctis." She answered, a faint groan escaping her lips. Nate could tell how unreasonable this reason sounded.

"So you said yes just because Sir Regis said so?" as dry as it sounded, Nate found it actually stupid. Kaya stared at him quietly, she couldn't believe this man. He just had a question for every answer. Her silence indicated Nate's win and he smirked.

"Why don't you admit it?" He said. and Kaya felt her heart skip a beat. admit? admit what? She looked at Nate, quite astonished. She knew, she just didn't want to name it.

"What is there to adm-"

"You love him." Nate interrupted her, the funny thing about truth is that if it's not said on time, it doesn't have any effect. and Kaya's truth had a significant effect on her. She felt as if someone had ripped her heart out of her chest and placed it into her hands, it was so heavy she was going down with her. Nate stared at her, observing her features. Part of him felt conflicted, with the sudden weight in his chest.

"You have been in love with him since you met him..."

every word escaping Nate's lips just added to the weight of Kaya's heart. He didn't have to name it. Nate sighed looking ahead.

"How can you be so dense Kaya... to yourself?" He said, clearly displeased and somewhat satisfied.

Kaya could only wonder how did Nate find out... she wasn't so transparent, was she?

"Come on, it's cold outside." Nate added gesturing Kaya to follow as he headed to the cafe ahead and she obliged.

as soon as they entered, the warmth of the confinement simmered into them and Kaya let out a satisfied sigh, she had been so cold since leaving the library.

"Do you like coffee? or do you not even know what it is?" Nate mocked, a sheepish smile on his face as he led Kaya inside and to the warmest spot in the cafe. Kaya let out a soft groan sitting down and wrapped her arms around herself.

"What do you think I am?" She replied, disappointed at how her image was coming up in the guy's mind. Nate rose a brow, amused at her tone. So they were at the terms to be joking around.

"To me, you are a typical character from Shakespeare. Someone that only knows to give, never take..." He replied. Kaya hated it when he compared her in such a way.

"Why is that?" She couldn't help but ask, curious to know what gave Nate the idea of her as such.

"Well well... you are trying to deceive yourself to believe that your reality isn't yours, your life is just a phase and the decisions you make can never be the worst thing to happen to you." He spoke clearly and without any reservance.

Nate was weird and the things he said were even weirder. Every single word held a strong reference to Kaya and her situation, she couldn't believe someone to be so accurate about her feelings... something was definitely wrong with this guy...

"What are you thinking?" spoke Nate, dragging Kaya out of her thoughts and she shook her head looking around. She really missed the chance of spending time with Noctis yesterday... He looked so determined and interested back then... She only managed to ruin his mood and their entire day... She wondered how he was with Luna... did he laugh with her? Obviously he did. Lina made him happy. He loved her. She just wished he wasn't so reserved around her...

"Would you like flat white?" Nate asked, diverting Kaya's attention towards himself as the maid had come over to take their orders. Kaya had spaced out for a moment so she didn't know what to say and just nodded.

"Great. two flare whites." Nate said to the maid and she left with their orders and simple. He noticed Kaya had been lost on thoughts for quite a while now.

"What are you thinking of?" He asked, once again and this time with a firm tone. Kaya knew it was a waste of time to argue with this guy if he happened to catch the lie.

"I'm just...thinking of..."

"Noctis and Luna?" Nate interrupted once again surprising Kaya with the accuracy of his guess. She was starting to get a bad feelings about this.

"And you're thinking of what would they be doing right now?" Nate added, much to Kaya's dismay he was very right and she couldn't help but be true so she nodded. Nate's lips grew into a smirk, so evident and sure, almost as if he had found out a thought very valuable on the girl's mind, caught another one of the secrets off her heart.

"Why don't you look for yourself then?" Nate replied leaning back into his seat and crossed his arms. Kaya rose a brow, getting a strange feeling. Nate was looking at her with the most amused expression, like he could see clearly but she couldn't, something that was before both of them. Something dropped deep into her chest, her heart slipping a beat as she looked down at her lap. She didn't need to do this...Nate was trying to get her down again, she was sure. She shouldn't let him get to her this time but she couldn't help it. She looked up at Nate, grabbing herself together before turning to look behind. Only a table was between her and Noctis, sitting with the most satisfied expression Kaya had seen on him. She felt something stir inside her as her gaze shifted from her husband to his company.

"Did you know about this?" She asked, turning to Nate, a worried look on her face. Nate shook his head, that smile never fading off his lips even though Kaya's own was deflating more and more by the second...

She couldn't help but look back again, at Noctis and Luna... He looked so happy, his smile was bright, not even a single worry tainting his features... Kaya wished she could be the reason of that smile...

"Let's go say Hi to them." Nate said, already getting up from his seat. Kaya's eyes widened, her heart racing as she grabbed his hand.

"What, are you mad? they are on a date or whatever! we can't just interfere!" She whispered, with a pleading look on her face as she tried to convince Nate. What was this guy's problem? why does he always decide for the worst!

"What? that's your husband with his girlfriend. and you're teaching me manners? Come on." Nate insisted, his smile never faltering as he grabbed onto Kaya's hand instead and pulled her out of her seat. Suddenly Kaya couldn't bring herself to say anything as Nate had already begun dragging her to the said table, her eyes squeezed shut and regret clouding her senses. She shouldn't have agreed to coffee with this idiot! after what happened yesterday, she couldn't trust him!

Nate's grasp remained firm on Kaya's hand while she tried her very best to break herself out of this awkward situation but her efforts to no avail as Nate stopped. Weren't they at the table!

"Hey there, Noct. Luna. How is it going?" Nate spoke, and Kaya's nightmares came true one after another.

"Nate? Hey... what are you... guys doing here?" spoke a very familiar voice. God did Kaya curse her very decision to trust this strange guy and walk after him into hell...

"Kaya? that's your family friend. right, Noct?" asked Luna, her voice terrified Kaya in this very moment. She really hated Nate. Finally Kaya decided it was too late to make up any excuse and escape from the situation, taking a deep breath Kaya stepped forward and managed an smile. Noctis and Luna staring at the two with a surprised looks.

"Uh... Hi... sorry to barge in on you, we didn't mean to interrupt your... whatever was going on with you." Kaya replied, a smile as awkward and made up as the situation plastered onto her lips.

"No it's fine, Come join us?" Luna replied, not wanting to make them feel unwelcomed even though she didn't want to be interrupted. Noctis had been very distant lately and today she had the opportunity to spend as much time with him as possible and get to know what was going on with him.

"Well thank you. How is life?" Nate asked, politely taking a seat next to Luna. Kaya's nervous gaze shifting from Luna to Noctis, their eyes meeting for a split second as realization dawned upon her and she stole her gaze away. She shouldn't be making him uncomfortable, for now she needed to make sure Nate doesn't spill anything before Luna.

"What are you guys doing here?" Noctis asked, his tone low and his expression of utter disappointment. Kaya could see why was it so, she remembered Prompto telling her that Noctis never got along with Nate and the fact that KAYA was out for a coffee with him... How awkward and insensible can this situation get?

"Oh, we were at the library. Kaya kept spacing out so I thought a nice cup of coffee could help her." Nate replied, smiling and Noctis' gaze shifted to Kaya who could only look at him helplessly.

"So Kaya, you've not found any apartment yet?" Luna asked, clearly interested to know that she had. She didn't have a problem with Noctis' family friend sharing apartment with him, but she did have a problem with a girl sharing an apartment with her boyfriend. Chances are she would try and get him stuck with her...

Kaya managed a smile at Luna and shook her head, before looking down. Her hands clasped firmly into her lap. She knew Noctis would have questions for her... but then again, he himself had said they didn't need to interfere with each other's lives. He wouldn't ask her what she does, she wouldn't ask him what he does... that was the deal.

"So what's happening? you guys seemed to be having a serious discussion." Nate said, looking at Noctis, acting out as obvious as he could, so skillfully. Kaya hated him, hated him more every second.

"Oh I was just trying to convince Noct to accompany me to Jenny's birthday party but for some reason, he doesn't want to. says he is "busy"." Luna mimicked Noctis' blank expression, a faint chuckle following after. He rolled his eyes, clearly displeased with being the topic of the talk of his girlfriend and a guy he hated the most.

"Jenny? Oh right! Her birthday party. Its next week right? I'm very excited for the menu." Nate replied with a satisfied sigh before looking at Kaya who seemed to have drowned into her thoughts.

"Oh are you invited too? that's great. It would be fun with you around." Luna replied to Nate, resting her hand on Noctis' arm to calm him. It was a formality, Luna knew Noctis hated Nate but she couldn't just ask him to leave.

"Kaya, you should come." Luna suggested, clearly against the idea but for the sake of formality. a part of her believed that the reason why Noctis didn't want to attend Jenny's party was because of Kaya... since they lived together.

"No, she can't come." Noctis replied in Kaya's stead and she looked up at him, clearly surprised. She didn't think he was bold enough to do such a thing but then again, what could Luna possibly suspect from that...

indeed Luna did, her smile delafted but it didn't fade and she rolled her eyes.

"Come on, Kaya. it would be fun and you said you didn't know anyone here right? this is like the perfect opportunity, I can introduce you to my friends and maybe help you find an apartment too?" She insisted. Kaya couldn't know why Noctis didn't want her to come and didn't want to attend the party himself either... if she was reason behind this, she was sure Luna might suspect things and she couldn't let it happen.

"I'll come." Kaya replied. Every gaze shifted towards her Luna's expression softening.

"Of course... I'll come." She added with a faint smile avoiding Noctis' gaze. Nate's smile grew and he nodded.

"Well I'll bring her, that's upto me. I'm sure she would enjoy. wouldn't you, Kaya?" He said, a sly grin evident on his face that Kaya ignored.

within few minutes, Luna's phone began to buzz. She was very much relieved for Kaya, if Noct didn't come it was Okay still. She picked up her phone and checked the text meanwhile Noctis Kaya a questioning look she looked over skillfully and maintained her smile.

"Oh shoot. I have to head back home now, something urgent came up." Luna said, grabbing her bag and getting up from her spot. Noctis watched her quietly, his mind still processing the reasons why Kaya said yes to Luna's offer. It didn't make any sensible sense...

"I'll see you guys soon, Okay? take care. and Noct, dont forget to text me." Luna said before giving him a soft kiss on the cheek because that seemed appropriate in an unwanted company before rushing out.

"Wow. She was quick, hope everything is Okay." Nate added, his gaze following after Luna as she exited the cafe before turning to Noctis who seemed to be staring at Kaya, asking for something with just a look. Nate couldn't help but want to tense up the situation some more, he was actually amazed at how skillful of an actor Noctis was.

"Well then, we should get going too, right Kaya?" Nate suggested and Kaya looked at him, blinking. She didn't want to deal with anything else up Nate's sleeve anymore. She had had too much for today.

"No, I'll be fine." She refused politely with a smile before looking away.

"Come on, you took a cab didn't you? It's hard to find a cab in this situation, it's very col-"

"I'll be taking her." Noctis interrupted Nate, already grabbing his phone and getting up. Kaya, now nervous to Noctis' reaction and Nate's eager obliviousness, just got up from her seat after her husband.

"Wait, I brought her here. I can drop her home?" Nate opposed, as calmly as he could. Kaya frowned, staring at Nate. Despite knowing about her situation, he was still being a jerk. She shouldn't have agreed to his offer to begin with.

"She is my responsibility. I'll look after her, thank you." Noctis replied, before wasting a minute He grabbed Kaya's hand, earning a surprised look from her.

Nate hummed, quite satisfied with the glare Noctis was shooting him. He had seen this coming thus wasn't surprised, not the least bit but Kaya was. She could only watch as her "husband", suddenly disappointed at her too, led her out of Nate's sight and of the cafe also. Noctis may have a problem with Nate, but still, to take such a risk of acting so drastically before him. Noctis didn't even worry about Nate telling Luna, because if he wanted, he would. It seemed for the time being something else was on his mind. Something that didn't concern Luna... something like jealousy? Nate sighed shaking his head. It was Kaya's problem now, whatever Noctis was going to do now.

"Where the hell is my coffee? where the hell is that maid?" He scoffed looking around.

meanwhile...

Kaya could only watch, her hand in Noctis'. He didn't seem very pleased with what happened, but she could worry about that later. right now she felt something bubble inside of her, something between nervousness and happiness... hesitance maybe? She was hesitant of Noctis' reaction. He was upset, for sure. It was written on his face, what was it about though? was it because of Kaya and Nate getting along? or was it because of Kaya's acceptance of Luna's suggestion... or was it because of Luna and Nate...?

Kaya couldn't even imagine to think that Noctis could be jealous of her being with Nate, why would he? He didn't love her also he himself had said they didn't have the right to interfere with each other's life... so what was it that had him so upset...
