I closed my eyes waiting for the impact of hitting the wall or the floor, but it never came. Instead I was being held against something hard but soft at the same time. I felt safe, safer than I had in a long time. I didn't want to open my eyes and stop the feeling but a loud crash forced me to do so.
My eyes flew open, with the intention to find the source of the crash, instead I met the eyes of the eldest original. Finn, his eyes full of concern which then melted to a warm emotion I couldn't place. The desire to reach out and touch his chiseled face was too much to bare. But before I could lift my hand there was another crash. I tried to sit up so Finn placed me upright, not fully letting go of me yet, as one of his hands stayed glued to my waist.
I turned to find the culprits of breaking our moment, one pinning the other against the wall, a stake in hand.
Elijah and Rebekah were trying to drag the hybrid off the younger brother, but clearly the werewolf in him made him much stronger than the ancient vampires who were clearly struggling. I could see that Kol was whispering something to Klaus, which only proved to anger him more as his body began to vibrate with fury. Whatever Kol had said made Elijah pause, removing his hands from Klaus with a shake of his head. Rebekah however stayed where she was, still pulling with all her strength.
"What did he say to him?" I whispered to Finn without moving my eyes from the four of them.
"Kol is trying to invoke an old claiming ritual," he sighed. "It holds no weight in this time..." he didn't continue but it was clear there was more to be said.
I made a mental note to ask one of them about it later. There were more pressing issues right now.
"Will you two stop it?! I'm not your property and I won't stand here and watch you fight like it will earn you the right to my hand!"
They both turned to look at me, the anger at each other still resided in their eyes and it caused me to wince. It didn't stop me from hitting them where it hurts though.
"If I was to sleep with any of you it would be with Rebekah or Finn! At least they respect me a bit."
Rebekah giggled, "Darling, I'm sorry but you're just not my type."
Finn's ribs vibrated at that, as though he was holding back a laugh himself.
Klaus let go of Kol and stormed over to me, his eyes flickering with gold flecks, his hybrid nature showing through. I wanted so desperately to step back and hide behind Finn but I couldn't show fear.
He grabbed me by the chin, forcing my head up forcefully so I'd look into his eyes. "Let's get one thing straight, love. You are Mine." he growled, "You blood belongs to me, your body belongs to me, your heart belongs to me. Understand?"
"I am not yours, Niklaus Mikaelson!" I could hear my heart beating in my ears, my nails dug deep into my palm. Finn had long since let go of me, sensing the fury growing inside me.
His grip on my chin grew became impossibly stronger, hard enough to break the delicate bones beneath, as his other hand found it's way to my hair as he pulled it back harshly. I ground my teeth to keep from groaning, I didn't want to give him the satisfaction.
"I said do you understand?" He whispered, pulling my hair hard to emphasize his words.
"Go fuck yourself!" I spat at him.
Surprisingly he let go of me completely, and his face fell. I'd never seen such a powerful vampire look so sad.
"Why must you hate me so much?" he whispered.
I couldn't answer, the question had taken me off guard and although I knew the answer I couldn't bring myself to say it.
Then suddenly there was a demanding knock followed by many more.
