Darth Thanatos on Sufficient Velocity commented:

You know, when it was referred as "Danny driving the purple lizard", I got the unsettling image of Danny's bioconstruct being purple and called Barney.

And then he is the "combat Branch of the Family".

"Let's be friends!" is combat speech for "behave or else"

"Let's be friends..."

Everyone looked up.

The 12 foot tall, heavily armored reptilian figure narrowed glowing violet eyes, subtle waves of energy visibly crackling along the spinal spikes and up its neck to the head. The enormous mouth opened again, but it couldn't in all honesty really be called a 'smile,' what it was doing.

Bouncing an enormous baseball bat in one palm, in a fairly meaningful manner, the creature leaned down a little more towards the restrained form of Shadow Stalker, who swallowed hard. It then looked around at the other PRT and Protectorate staff members. "It's better for everyone if we're friends. Agreed?"

He reached out and rested the end of the immense bat very lightly on top of Sophia's shoulder. "Or..."

"No, no, I think friends is the ideal situation," Emily said very quickly. "I agree. Let's be friends. And as friends, may I welcome you to Brockton Bay?"

This time the smile was much more genuine. Still not entirely free of dentition, but no longer the definite threat it had been. The bat was removed as carefully as it had been put in place. Sophia's eyes rolled back in her head and she dropped silently to the ground.

"Thank you," the new Family member said. He looked at Raptaur, who was grinning. "It's good to finally get to see what all the fuss back home is about."

His gaze became a little hard, and Raptaur's smile abruptly vanished. "And to check up on what the girls are up to, of course. There have been... stories."

Everyone now looked between the two reptiles, then at each other, before Armsmaster picked Sophia up off the ground. He motioned with his head, the entire group slowly backing away. Raptaur was now saying something in the Family language, while her much larger relative was listening with his arms crossed, not looking entirely convinced...

"Friends," Emily muttered, very, very quietly. "I need another holiday. Soon."
