Danny stood behind the Table, with the paperweight saying "Property of Da Boss" placed over a stack of papers. There was a minor pounding in his head, combined with a slight urge to throw Zephron's latest "offering" at the two before him.
He pressed the bridge of his nose. "Excuse me, can you two explain that to me again?"
The duo in front of him were only glad to.
"So, it all began with Taylor-" Leet began.
Uber nodded beside him, "-as is the normal course of things around here, for the a given amount of normal anyway-"
Leet, "-but the thing is, she played pranks on us, you know? Normally, all will be well with that, as long as we got to give it what we've got-"
Uber, "-but then she went and said that she and her demon would forever be better partners than we are."
"That we take a stand to, isn't it, Uber?"
"Yes, we do, Leet, so of-"
"-course we got to work."
At this point, Danny's headache went up to a migraine. He almost didn't want to ask. "And what you did was...?"
He was immediately beset with twin grins.
"Oh, we'll be glad to explain-"
"-that, Boss!"
Danny twitched, his hand moving over the accursed paperweight over his desk of its own volition.
"First, Leet here invented a-"
Leet slammed the table. "-machine that can connect minds! It's plainly unfair that they have a mental connection-"
"-when we're stuck with just body language," Uber continued without a beat, crossing his arms, "but then I realized that, perhaps the invention could also be used to share our powers."
"He was right-" "-as I usually do-" "-and then we tested if Uber can Tinker something too, and as it turned out, he could!"
"Double the hands, double the work, overcome the limit-"
"-disconnecting the two of us also refreshes the counter-"
"-we made our thing, walked up to Amy to turn us into blood brothers through DNA-"
"-and just like that, we were done."
Danny pressed his face on the cool surface of his poor Table. "So that was when you two invited Taylor into a tennis match?"
"Yep, you-"
"-got that right, Boss!"
Danny snapped. He picked up the paperweight and threw it at them, roaring,
"So that is why I woke up in the middle of the night with the entire Bay in panic due to Kaiju and a goddamn Jaeger!?"
