I sat closer to the water on the beach, I just sat there thinking while everyone else was in the water. Buttercup was becoming more than just a distraction, she was a full on addiction. Everyone else was having fun, then I noticed her staring at me in concern as another stone was tossed into the water in front of me. I wave at her and she blushed and waved back, I smiled at her. She gives me a little smile back and looks to the group before swimming towards me. "You coming in? The water is nice? We're also about to play beach ball volley ball... wanna join?" She asked a couple feet away.
I look at her, she looked like she genuinely wanted me to join and I shrug tugging off my shirt. She actually full on bit her lip in my view and I raised a brow at her in question. "Come on already!" She blushed, crossing her arms across her chest, pushing it up. I couldn't help my eyes when they aimed at them for just a second before I turned, caught my breath, and walked into the water. "Let's go!" She said, grabbing my wrist and pulling me towards everyone. "You finally got him to join!?" Brick asked while hitting a beach ball towards Boomer who hit the ball to Bubbles. Blossom hit it to me and I hit it to Buttercup. She hit it to Blossom, who hit it to Brick. This was getting heated when i hit it to Buttercup and with a laugh she hit it to Bubbles who accidentally missed and Buttercup, the quickest swimmer, went to get it.
As she was grabbing it a dude on a jet ski almost hit her and I full on fly to get her out of the way. She's in my arms with a look of surprise, I land in the water and check her over for damage. Soon she realized what happened and she glared at the asshat. I on the other hand was in rage, before anyone could stop me and swim to him and flip over the jet ski in one swift motion. The guy pops outta the water and glares at me. I began to yell "You idiot!" I pointed to Buttercup "You almost hit her!" I glared daggers at him.
"You almost cost me a jet ski!" He has the nerve to swim closer. "And if she wasn't as strong as she is, you would have cost her a fucking life!" I was now a couple feet from him. "Fuck off punk!" He said glaring at me more. "You better watch your mouth... I could snap you in half..." I warn, I was gonna drown this dude. Just as he was about to say something Blossom came over and not to give me shit, she was giving him shit. "You almost hit my sister... Do you know that where you are right now is illegal to have a jet ski?" She narrowed her eyes. "What's it to ya red? You some kind of bossy bitch who thinks she runs the beach?" He asked her in a mocking voice. Blossom was furious, Brick was livid. I remembered one thing, Blossom's reputation and connections was pretty terrifying to normal citizens who wanted to avoid jail.
"Actually I'd say Blossom Utonium , powerpuff leader, right here has every right to uphold any and every law in Townsville... especially when the one you almost hit is her sister..." I say with a smirk. The name was definitely recognized and he looks at her in shock, receiving a glare from her. He full on pouts and pulls the jet ski away with him. I let out a agitated breath to not try and strangle him before swimming with Blossom back to everyone. Blossom gives me a playful punch of thanks before swimming to Brick and diving into his arms. He gives me a thumbs up for sticking up for his girl.
Buttercup swam over and looked down before giving me a rare smile of gratitude. "I owe ya there green boy... Thanks for having mine and my sister's backs..." She said before holding out a hand, I take it and she pulls me to everyone.
She was incredibly friendly for the rest of the time. We all ended up hanging out and walking to a local cafe that was quite popular among the beach goers and Buttercup and I just looked absolutely uncomfortable. There was a crowd that caught our attention around someone singing a terrible version of "Uptown Funk" and now Buttercup just starts laughing, I do too. Bubbles walked to the table in front of the stage and came back squealing.
"What's up?" Buttercup asks taking a sip of a drink she just got. "It's a singing competition! For six tickets to the local theme park!" Bubbles practically screamed excitement. "Yeah I'd love to do that together.. to bad that none of us can sing to a exceptionally great level..." Blossom pouted, so did Bubbles. Brick and Boomer looked at their girls in panic, yeah they were going to deal with that today. I chuckle, they glare and their faces both change into realization. That chuckle was my downfall because both looked at me and smirked. OH NO THEY WOULDN'T!
"Hey girls!" Boomer said in a knowing voice smirking to Brick.
No! Anything but that!
"Yeah?" both asked still pouting.
They promised!
"Butch can sing..." Brick said and everyone looked at me.
I froze in place, the one thing I'm embarrassed about! Oh god dammit! Those dicks!
"You said you'd never tell anyone..." I mumbled with a blush. "He can sing?" Buttercup asked in confusion. "Yeah he can, he sings in the shower sometimes..." Boomer said snuggling Bubbles. "I need proof!" Blossom said pulling Brick to the side.They talk for a minute and he finally sighs. Brick pulled out his phone, and put it up to her ear giving me an apologetic look. HE FUCKING RECORDED ME? Probably for leverage in the future, meaning right now.

Blossom perked up, her eyes widening and darting to me. I see her mouth the words "No way!" and both walked over to me. "We're signing you up!" Blossom said before dragging me to the table. She let's me go and makes me wait there to sign up. Curse my tendency to laugh at my stupid brothers!
I know if I didn't do this I'd never hear the end of it... Those two girls were terrifying when they were upset and I didn't want to be on the end of that. Now I had to pick a song that only showcased my voice for the best chance to win. I sign up and sitting at a table and sigh, I told them I'd give them my song choice when I got up to preform. But I couldn't think of one I wanted to sing, because I don't want to sing... But I had too. I grumbled in my seat and noticed someone sit in front of me, it was Buttercup and I sighed with a tiny smile. I couldn't stay pissed around her. "I feel like they are totally exploiting your talent right now.." She chuckled. I chuckle back and nodded "Tell me about it..." I smirk.
"What song?" She asked curiously. "Will decide when I get up there..." I say with a sigh. "I'm looking forward to seeing it..." She says with a playful smile. I realized something, this might work in my favor. I was paged on my stupid buzzer to go back stage and get ready. I had another talent that my brothers didn't know about and there was one thing I needed. I got up saluting Buttercup and walking back stage.
I looked outside the curtain and saw everyone including my own group almost touch the end of the stage. Buttercup was the closest, and that could work. I was gonna totally look like Boomer doing this to impress a woman but I'll be damned if I didn't try! Never mind I was going utterly mad!
I walk out and the first thing I here is Brick say "A guitar?!" He sounded stunned. Bubbles whispers "Can he play?" and both my brothers shrug. Buttercup raised a brow at me and I shyly wave at her. She blushed and put her hands around herself. Okay Butch no nerves, time to impress Buttercup. I sit on a stool and fix the microphone. Then I look at the crowd and breath to calm myself, then began to play.

I end with the guitar and everyone in that place erupted into applause and I just shyly bow and rush behind the curtain realizing I just sang, and fucking exposed myself emotionally in front of the girl I've liked for 4 damn years! It takes 15 minutes for my brothers through the door to convince me to step foot outside. As soon as I'm out the two girls who put me in this situation hug me. "You won!" Blossom said proudly holding up the six tickets. "That's candy and rainbows there sunshine, but I'd like to... I don't know... Run!" I say giving an affectionate punch to Buttercup's arm before rushing outside.

"Hey Butch?" I hear Buttercup behind me and I turned around with a completely red face. She looked at me in surprise, because I never do this. " Are you okay there?" I turned over to see her standing over me her like eyes twinkling. " Yes... ish.. Maybe... No..." I say and she sits with me. "Any particular reason why you chose that song?" She asked laying next to me. We both stare at the the ceiling. "Yes..." I can't lie, I'm a terrible liar when I'm embarrassed. "Why?" She asked curiously. "You'll hate it..." I say, I don't know why. " What?" She asks, flipping so she's facing me. I flip to face her too, mine is still red as a tomato. "Yep..." I say and she tilts her head, she's unsure. "What makes you say that?" She sounded very interested.
"You..." I mumbled under my breath, and her eyes widen. "Me what?" She didn't make this easy did she. I sit up and flush before blurting out " You! The song was for you!" My eyes widened and a flopped back and covered my face completely. Really smooth Butch!
"The song was for... Me?" She asked and I gave her awkward thumbs up. "Why?" She was asking so may questions. "I can't tell you that yet!" I say through my arms. "Why not?" Now she was persistent. God dammit!
"Because..." I say before flipping so my back is to her. "Oh no you don't!" She say, laying me on my back. I still keep my arms around my face and she's not having it. She climbed on top of me and grabbed my arms pulling them from my face. I look at her on my lap. I. Start.To. Panic!
"Okay you moved my arms please get off!" I say in panic. "Not until you tell me why!" She was not realizing that my blood was going WAY south. "I can't!" I tried to squirm away but I was making it so much worse. "Yes you can! I'm not gonna judge you!" She said with a stubborn look. "Please get off!" I say in desperation. "Why won't you tell- Oh!" After I said I liked her.. Why? I have no clue... she's asleep and said she wanted to do it again soon... I didn't confirm relationship with her yet... Every time I asked before hand she kissed me to shut me up... I'm confused..." My mind was exploding. "I think this is her way of saying that she likes you too, but without words... She'll come around soon to say it at some point..." Brick said and I smiled, thank God for that conversation!
After I eat I bring food up for Buttercup in a container and put it on her dresser. I laid down next to her and get comfortable. I didn't expect her to roll over to my side and cuddle me. I melt a little and start to drift off. I hope everything's going to work out...
