"Any luck figuring out why we can't pick up either Lilith or Frida's scent?" Nicholas asked Davi after leaving him alone to do research on the subject.

"Well I have a theory." He said. "I have reason to believe that they're being kept in a barrier that masks their scent to everyone and everything. I also suspect that it was demon who had abducted to them."

"Is there any way to find this barrier?" Manny asked.

"Not that I know of."

"I can probably understand whya demon would want Manny's little companion, she's a human but one with incredible power but what I don't understand is why would a demon kidnap Lilith?" Nicholas said. "She's just a harmless human girl. Not worth the trouble."

"We'll worry about that later right now we just have to find them." Manny said. "Davi contact T.J and Andrea, tell them what happened we're definitely going to need some help on this."

"Should I sir?" Davi asked Nicholas.

"Though I do not wish to seek help from humans finding Lilith is vital. Do as my cousin says."

"Yes sir."

Davi rushed off to do exactly that.

"Now what do we do?" Manny asked.

"I don't know. To be honest I never thought something like this would ever happen."

"Hey we're going to find them. I promise. But I know how scary it is when someone you care about is in danger."

"Don't think that my desperation to find Lilith is because I care for her. I just don't want to break a vow that I made to my father."

Manny rolled his eyes. This man's denial of his real feelings were truly frustrating, now he understood how T.J, Andrea, and Frida felt. Suddenly his frustration was interrupted by the sound of a horse whinny. He looked to see a familiar stallion running toward them and it appeared to be in some sort of panic.

"What is that horse doing here?" Nicholas said. "Mangy beast! Begone!"

"Wait a minute I think I know that horse." Manny said.

The stallion slowed down when it got closer to them and stopped once he approached Manny. At once he recognized him as Felipe, the holy horse who he and his friends had freed from the demon Sergio about a year ago. He had developed a sort of bond with Frida and dislike toward him and T.J. Why was he here?

"What is it?" Manny asked Felipe. "What are you doing here? What's wrong?"

Felipe opened his mouth and dropped something at Manny's feet. Manny picked it up, it was a ribbon. A ribbon that he remembered being tied Frida's hair the last time he saw her. He sniffed it, it had her scent. It was the same ribbon.

"Where did you get this?"

The horse just replied by grabbing on to Manny's sleeve and started pulling on it.

"What's he doing?" Nicholas asked.

"I think he knows where the girls are and he's trying to take us to them."

"How would a horse know where to find them?"

"He's not a regular horse, we should follow him."

"You want me to follow some strange horse."

"Do you have a better idea?"

"No I suppose not."

...

Tito decided to pay his prisoners another visit in their cell. As he expected, as soon as he showed his face all three of his prisoners gave them looks of disgust while Maria shielded the girls protectively.

"Stay back!" Maria told him. "Get away from us!"

"Please don't hurt us!" Lilith pleaded while trembling.

"Oh worry not little Lilith you're not even the one I hold all my rage toward the most. It's those two." He pointed a metal talon to Maria and Frida. "I hate you two so much! I hate you Maria for stealing Rodolfo from me and I hate you Frida because you remind me so much of Maria!"

"How do I remind you of Maria?" Frida said. "We don't look anything alike."

"No but the fact that you are both human women who share an affinity for spirits! That makes you equals in my eyes!" He was on the verge of losing all his sanity completely. "And I've recently made an important choice. I only need one woman who Manny loves alive and since Frida is needed for something vital and you're the one who started all my suffering, I shall kill you Maria!"

"You know Rodolfo will never forgive you if you do that." Maria said.

"But I plan to ensure that when all this is over, everything goes back to the way it was. Back to the way things should be."

"You're not making any sense, you can't change the past."

"Oh can't I?"

Without another word he snatched Maria by the neck and began to strangle her. The poor woman gasped and struggled for breath, she was so frightened. She couldn't die now, not without seeing her husband and her son again. How could she die never knowing what became of them? Poor Lilith was so scared by what was happening that she couldn't move, she was paralyzed with fear. Frida on the other hand, decided to act fast.

She made the markings on her wrists bleed and grabbed on to Tito's arm which was squeezing Maria's neck. When her blood made contact with his skin it burned him. He hissed in agony and dropped Maria. The woman held her neck to stop the pain caused from the strangling.

"Maria are you alright?" Frida asked her.

"I'm fine." She coughed.

"You miserable wench!" Tito screeched. "You burned me!"

"Serves you right for what you tried to do to Maria."

Tito grabbed Frida though he was careful not touch her blood.

"What are you going to do? Kill me? I thought you needed me?!" She said.

He grunted through his dirty, pointy teeth but then he gave her a very nasty grin as a terrible idea came into his mind. He snapped his fingers causing shackles to hold Maria and Lilith back and chain them to the wall. He then pinned her down to the cold cell floor.

"What are you doing?" She asked trying not to sound afraid.

"I can mutilate some of your body parts."

"Mutilate?" Frida gulped.

His hand became a metal sword and he began trying to stab and cut off her arms and legs. She did everything she could to avoid the blade.

"You know my blood has holy water in it." She said. "If it touches you it'll burn you."

"I'm willing to ignore the pain if it means I can hurt you and if I hurt you, I'll be hurting him too."

Frida couldn't believe how sadistic this guy was. He was willing to endure horrible pain as long as he could hurt her. This man, no this thing had lost it's mind. Still she continued to struggle and wouldn't stop fighting, she would fight for as long as she could. Unfortunately his grip on her was so tight that she couldn't move. He brought the blade toward her pelvic area, ready cut off her legs and leave terrible scarring on her.

"No! Stop! Get off of me you pyscho!" She screamed.

"You bastard! She's just a child!" Maria cried.

"Oh I'm going to enjoy this." He grinned sadistically.

Suddenly before he could go any further a tiger roar was heard and he felt claws strike him his arm and knock him back into the wall as hard as they could. Tito felt the solid concrete of the wall collide with his head, hurting him very much. When he opened his eyes, he saw that the source of the attack was an angered Manny who was holding a trembling Frida close to him.

"Don't you dare lay a hand on her!" He growled. "Stay away from her!"

"What?! How the hell did you find this place?!"

"That should be the least of your worries!"

Tito swung to attack only to have his arm be grabbed by Nicholas.

"Hello Uncle." He said. "It's been far too long."

Though his voice was calm everyone in the room could feel the overwhelming rage threatening to spill out of him.

"Nicholas!" Cried the relieved voice of Lilith. He immediately turned his gaze toward her.

"Lilith are you alright?" He asked.

"I'm fine."

"Don't be frightened Lilith. I'll get you out of here, right after I tear my dear uncle apart!"

"Not so fast!"

He snapped his fingers and the walls started to close in on them and before anyone could stop him, Tito shrunk himself down and slipped through a small crack. Nicholas and Manny quickly used their strength to stop the walls.

"We're going to be squashed!" Manny shouted.

"What are we going to do?" Lilith asked.

Frida looked around and noticed that Nicholas carried a bow and arrows with him. They weren't holy but maybe she could make them holy.

"I have an idea."

She took the bow and an arrow from Nicholas's bag. She squeezed some of her blood on to the tip of the arrow and made her aim. She shot the arrow toward the wall causing a large hole to break through.

"Everybody out now!"

They quickly jumped out through the hole and fled to safety.

"Is everyone alright?" Manny asked.

"I think so." Lilith said.

"Come Lilith we're leaving." Nicholas told her.

He took her by the hand and they walked away.

"What no thank you for helping you find her?" Manny said. "Ingrate... You okay Frida?"

"I'm alright."

"You're bleeding." He said looking down at her wrists.

"I know but I made myself bleed because it was our only chance of escape. Apparently my blood acts as some demon repellent." She glanced over to see Maria hiding in the shadows and smiled. "Manny I have a surprise for you."

"Is it a good surprise? Because the last the surprise you gave me almost mauled me to death."

"I thought you would like a dog."

"I'm half cat! In what way would I like a dog?!"

"I'm sorry! You look more human than cat to me!...But that's not important. You're going to like this surprise. You know Lilith and I weren't the only ones trapped there, there was someone else too."

"Really who?"

He got his answer when he saw her step out from the shadows. In that moment he forgot how to breathe. He never thought that he would see her again but here she was.

"M...Mom?" He stuttered while trying to control the speed of his heart rate as it picked up. "Mom is it...Is it really you?"

Tears filled her soft brown eyes as a smile graced her face and she nodded.

"Hello Manny."

He dropped to his knees in shock, Maria threw her arms around him and hug him, holding him as if he were a small child again. She smelled like all the most wonderful things in the world, he had miss this smell.

"Oh my beautiful boy, I thought that I would never see you again." She pulled back from him and gazed at his face. "Look at you...You've grown so much and...And you look so much like your father."

"Oh Mom I've missed you so much." He hugged her back. "I'm so sorry Mom."

"For what?"

"For being a burden to you. I've made your life so hard ever since I was born. It's my fault you've suffered so much."

"No...No my boy. You were never considered a burden to me and I loved you the minute I found out I was pregnant with you. And the years I spent with you were the happiest of my life and I hope that we're never seperated again."

Frida smiled and fought the urge to cry herself. She was overjoyed that Manny had finally found his mother because she believed after everything he had been through, he was entitled to some happiness.
