Batman looked around at the strange assortment surrounding him. He blended right in with the rest of the kids in the illusioned armor. A large kid who was a son of Ares or Mars, he wasn't sure which, was illusioned to look like him. He was strutting around saying, "I'm Batman." in a ridiculously low gravelly voice. He was tempted to show him who exactly Batman was, but he refrained himself. He could see different members of the Justice League standing out among the sea of kids in armor, some illusioned and some not. The daughter of Athena stood next to him. She had a long white sword drawn, quite different from the rest of the bronze and gold swords the other kids had. Next to her stood the son of Poseidon. He didn't have a sword on him, as far as Batman could tell. Instead, he nervously twirled that same pen in his hand. They watched as the large garage doors opened and out flooded at least a hundred strange looking creatures.

"Dracnea, telekines. With all this build up, I was expecting more." Percy scoffed.

"They're just the first wave." Annabeth explained.

"They're to soften us up." Batman agreed. "Notice, there are only monsters, no humans."

"They're indispensable." Annabeth noted. "Hopefully, Nightwing comes through."

"He'll come through." Batman said defensively.

The monsters let out several roars that called out for battle. They weren't moving far from the door, however. "They're trying to lure us in." Annabeth observed. "Hold your position." She yelled out the order.

There they stood at an impasse, neither one moving toward each other. The soldiers standing stoicly, while the monsters roared and screeched tauntingly. All at once, the entire area blew up into a firery rage that Batman thought for sure nothing could survive. Parts of the building blew up.

Percy let out a loud whoop which rippled throughout the ranks.

"Leo?" Annabeth looked to him for confirmation.

"All clear." Leo grinned. "Couldn't have done better myself."

As the fires died down, they could see some monsters still moving around. More monsters began pouring out and doing a full out charge towards them. Batman heard a single gun shot.

"Get down!" He yelled.

But before anyone could move, a blur and a gust of wind blew by them. Kid Flash stopped short in front of the kid illusioned as Nightwing. He showed him the bullet. "Looks like someone's got it in for Nightwing." Kid Flash smirked.

"I know how it feels." Percy responded staring at the bullet.

"Green Arrow!" Batman called out.

"On it." Green Arrow replied.

The mix of mortals and monsters surged toward them. Batman just saw Green Arrow's arrow fly before chaos ensued. The demigods fought against the monsters ferociously. As Annabeth had predicted, the mortals singled out the demigods, and the monsters singled out anyone with a mask. The gusts of winds that Batman felt indicated that Flash, Shazam, and Kid Flash were at work disabling the guns. Arrows buzzed by them taking out mortals and monsters alike. Batwoman had resorted to using her guns, though he noticed that she was mainly disabling mortals. The rest, like Batman, made quick work when fighting, knocking out the mortals as quickly as possible. There were flashes of lights all over the field, which Batman hoped was from Shazam and Black Lightning.

Annabeth was a skilled fighter, slashing down any monster that came anywhere near him. They had settled into a comfortable rhythm as they protected each other. Percy seemed to be having too much fun as he taunted the monsters, as he expertly whirled his blade, which seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. A golden dragon buzzed them as it flew overhead. They were winning.

Kid Flash got knocked on his back at one point. Monsters had surrounded him before he could move. Thankfully, the girl on the horse suddenly rode by, leaving the monsters, literally, in dust. He could see Aqualad and Lagoona boy fighting close to Percy, deliberately, no doubt.

Just as he thought the battle could almost be over, there were several unearthly roars that shook his very being. He looked toward the gate to see several giants as tall as the three storied building itself, lumbering toward them. Everyone stood as if in shock at the sight.

"Thalia!" Annabeth called out. " Light 'em up!" She then looked at Batman. "You might want to shield your eyes." She warned.

There was a rumbling in the sky as dark clouds suddenly gathered. A cascade of lightning suddenly came down on the giants. Burnt flesh filled their nostrils as the giants stopped. Everyone watched with bated breath. The giants looked up at the sky and roared back. The clouds dispersed as if frightened away by it.

"Hit them again." Batman yelled.

"She can't. She only has one shot." Annabeth gritted.

Then Batman saw Nightwing, no not Nightwing, Percy Jackson running toward one of the giants. Several demigod's ran behind him. The giants were still looking at the sky. They didn't see them coming. Percy ran between a giant's legs and cut the back of them. The giant instantly roared and fell to its knees. Percy then scrambled up the giant's leg and back like pro and stabbed it in the back of the neck. The creature instantly began dissolving into golden dust. Batman couldn't help but be impressed. He could hear Aqualad and Lagoona Boy salavating from here.

"Show off." Annabeth murmured affectionately.

Percy was shouting directions when a new wave came running out. These were all mortals, and there were a lot of them. They were geared up with rifles. The moment they stepped out, they began firing, and Nightwing, aka Percy Jackson, was one of several kids that went down. Flash, Shazam, and Kid Flash went to work stopping bullets, and disarming mortals. He could hear Zatara and Zatanna chanting something as bullets stopped midair.

"Percy!" Annabeth screamed as she ran over to him. Batman followed knocking out several mortals along the way. When they got to him, Aqualad was pouring some of his precious sea water on Percy's wound while Lagoona Boy was fighting every mortal that came near.

"I'm fine." Percy said as Annabeth approached him. "Mmm, that's good stuff." He grinned at Aqualad.

"Straight from Atlantis." Aqualad bragged. Where the blood had been washed away, all Batman saw was a round scar that, even then, was fading fast. Batman realized with a start that water healed him.

Annabeth looked past Percy and warned, "Monsters to the left."

Sure enough a slew of monsters were charging from the left. "I've got 'em. Just make sure I don't get shot." Percy twirled his blade and charged.

Annabeth stabbed a monster while Batman took out a few mortals. It wasn't long before a wind picked up and Shazam suddenly went screaming up into the air.

"Is there something about that guy you haven't told us?" Annabeth asked.

"Not that I'm aware of." Batman replied.

"Well, the monsters sure are attracted to him. Frank! Leo! Anemoi just took a Justice League member. Go get him." Annabeth barked.

Batman couldn't help but watch in amazement as Frank transformed into a giant golden dragon.

"A dragon?!" Beast Boy exclaimed in amazement. "You can transform into a dragon?! No fair! That is so cool!"

Frank joined Leo in the sky with one flap his wings. Batman became aware of a storm brewing to the left of him. "What is that?" He looked at the storm with some concern.

"Percy. He must be in the zone. Don't get too close." Annabeth answered.

"Is that a . . ."

"Hurricane." She answered again as she stabbed another monster. "Stay focused. Behind you!"

Batman turned in time to see a mortal sneaking toward him. He took him out quickly. Annabeth made quick work of lady with snakes for hair charging at her. He was beginning to see why Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase were loosely considered to be the leaders over the Greeks. Percy was a powerful demigod, and she was a skilled fighter with brilliant strategies. They were soon fighting back to back. However, the sheer amount of numbers against them only seemed to be increasing.

"Nico!" Annabeth cried desperately. "We need reinforcements!"

"You've got more?" Batman said surprised.

Sort of."

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Nico stab his sword into the ground. "Serve me." He yelled in an unnaturally deep voice.

Batman became further occupied with the battle and didn't see any reinforcements appear until he heard an unnaturally girly scream to his right. Beast Boy was staring in horror at a real live skeleton climbing out of the ground holding a flint knife. Actually, there were hundreds of them, all over the field.

Fight the monsters." Nico ordered.

"Indians?!" Batman said disbelievingly.

"Calvary too." Annabeth panted. "Must have been a battle here."

"He can raise the dead?" Batman said with some trepidation in his voice.

"Only for a short time. Take advantage of it while you can." Annabeth panted.

Despite the help of the skeletons, they were still getting swarmed. There were more monsters than mortals now, and Batman found himself just trying to avoid getting killed. He more than often would lead a monster right into Annabeth's or some other demigod's path.

"Batman." A sultry voice distracted him. He turned to see a beautiful woman standing calmly in the frey. "Why do you protect them? See how they hurt us mercilessly."

Batman could feel himself losing control of his senses. "No. You're hurting them." He managed to protest.

"All we want is to live in this world in peace. But they won't let us. They hate us. They have training camps where they learn how to kill us. I thought you were part of the Justice League. Where is the justice in this?"

"You're a vampire." Batman desperately tried to regain his slipping control. Everything was zoning in on her. He couldn't even see the battle around him anymore.

"I am a victim. Help me. Help us." She pleaded. "They want to destroy us."

Batman looked at the battle and saw demigods slaughtering creature after creature in cold blood. They stood no chance against the demigods. These creatures needed to be protected from the real monsters.

The woman wrapped her arms around him and whispered three words, "Kill the half-bloods."

He looked at the battle and in moments knew exactly where to hit them where it would hurt most: Annabeth Chase. She was the brains behind the army of half-bloods. Without her, they would all fall apart, especially the powerhouse, Percy Jackson. She was fighting desperately to get to him, shouting something at him, but it seemed that every creature was targeting her, preventing her from getting to him. He watched her every move and knew exactly how to take her down. She couldn't get to him, but he could get to her.
