Len woke to very bad feelings.

Something didn't feel right and from that feeling, he could tell that today wasn't going to be a good day. Quickly, and ignoring Mick grumbled protests at being woken up so early, Len shot out of bed and rushed towards Lucky's room, hoping that everything was okay.

When he went into his son's room, he found the young child sitting on the floor, playing with his many action figures. Lucas smiled up at him as he entered the room.

"Hi Daddy!"

"Hello… what are you doing?"

Lucas launched into a long-winded explanation about how Optimus Prime and Iron Man were fighting Darth Vader for control of Earth.

Len listened for a few moments, making the appropriate sounds here and there until Lucas went back to playing. He then headed to the kitchen in order to make some hot chocolate for his son and coffee for Mick to try and encourage the man to get out of bed.

He felt an urge to spend the entire day with Mick… no jobs, no kid… just them.

He was sure that the other Rogues would probably be happy to watch over the child… Mark probably. As he waited for the water to heat up, he gave the man a quick, arranging for the other man to take care of Lucky for the day.

As he hung up, Mick walked into the living room, a frown on his face. "Why were you talking to Mardon?" he asked.

"I was thinking that we might spend the day together." Len explained, "We haven't had much time to ourselves lately. Mark is going to take care of Lucky for the day."

Mick scowled, "Don't feel like it." He grunted, fingers twitching in agitation, "Not in the mood for lovey dovey stuff."

And then he was gone, storming out of the house.

Len sighed wearily, pushing back the flood of disappointment that threatened to engulf him.

He knew he had a bad feeling about today.

Sighing again, he went to get Lucky ready for the day. Even though he wouldn't be spending the day with Mick, as originally planned, he wanted to take the child to Mark. At least then, he could still have the day to himself.

…..

Mick knew he'd been a dick that morning…. More so than usual really.

With a groan, he thought about how Lenny would feel about it all… he couldn't remember the last time he'd kissed the other man… or the last time he'd played a game with his son.

Shit.

He'd fucked up.

Doubling back on himself, all Mick could think about was how pissed off Len probably was at him, and how much he was going to regret snapping at the younger man this morning. Hopefully, Len would forgive him for being stupid, keeping the lecture to a minimum.

Slowly, he entered the home they'd… borrowed for that week.

Len was sitting on the sofa, watching one of his sci-fi shows. He glanced up when Mick entered but didn't say a word, turning his attention back to the TV.

He was definitely pissed.

Mick took a seat next to him, taking the remote and switching the TV off. "Sorry." He grunted, hoping that Len wouldn't try and make him explain why he was sorry, wouldn't make him elaborate like he made Lucky do after a time-out.

There was a brief moment of silence, before Len turned to him… before a wicked smirk appeared on his face.

"Lucky's at Mark's…. I know how you can make it up to me."

…..

"Jesus, Jesse…." Mark groaned, knowing that it was a bad idea to have the man stay at his, "… he was supposed to be in bed an hour ago."

Lucky squealed, squirming as Jesse continued to tickle him.

"Marky Mark! This is tiring him out!"

"No, it's winding him up!"

There was another shriek and Lucky managed to squirm free, running down the hall and up the stairs to the guest room, leaving Jesse to face the lecture.

"Why are you doing this to me Jesse?" Mark groaned, "Why?"

The TV from the guest room suddenly switched on at full volume, causing them both to jump and run over in that direction.

Lucky wasn't even paying attention to the overly-loud TV, a wicked smirk on his face as he bounced on the bed.

How he still had so much energy, Mark would never know.

"See?" he hissed at Jesse, "You've wound him up."

"He'll tire out soon."

"We have to give him back to Cold tomorrow. If he realises that Lucky hasn't slept all night, I'll be the one in trouble!"

Jesse giggled at this, heading over to Lucky and scooping him up, dangling him upside down. "You heard Marky!" he cackled, "Pyjamas on and bedtime!"

Moving over to the bag, Mark pulled out the Spiderman pyjamas.

"I can do it!" Lucky piped up, snatching the clothes, "You can pick one of my stories."

Despite a small mishap of Lucky putting the pyjama top on backwards, the child got into bed with no further problems, and even fell asleep halfway through the story. When the pair headed back out into the room, Jesse beamed at Mark, "See? I tired him ou- OUCH!"
