"Ah, Kagome!" Kakushin greeted the approaching pair with his arms spread wide, "You are a vision, my love." His grin stretched across his face in a way that left butterflies in Kagome's stomach. While she had never loved Kouga, that didn't mean he wasn't charming and had left her knees feeling weak a time or two. His son was proving to be just as charming.

Kagome nervously smiled back at the handsome wolf, dressed in a sleek all black suit with a black button up and black tie. She had a feeling his styling choices were purposeful; bringing attention to his somewhat abnormal hair coloring he refused to conceal. Kagome was grateful that Sesshou was at her side, guiding her gently with a hand to the small of her back. The warmth of his hand reminded her that the outdoors wouldn't be as chilly as the hotel lobby.

"Hello again, Kakushin." Kagome came to a stop before the wolf demon and blushed heavily when he reached for her hand and bowed low to bestow her knuckles with a soft kiss.

"Kakushin," Sesshou nodded his greeting, but the way he said the wolf's name had Kagome thinking he was displeased with him toeing over pack manners by brushing his scent to her skin. "Please, lead the way."

"Right," He grinned devilishly, never taking his eyes off of Kagome. "I was thinking we forgo the feast with the pack and instead have a more," He winked at Kagome, "Intimate dinner here instead." She could only bring herself to blush at the suggestion. Thankfully, Kakushin didn't take no for an answer and lead the pair through the casino and then one floor down to the restaurant, where a white linen table was waiting for them.

Sesshou chose to keep to himself through dinner, and instead wanted to observe the interactions between his ward and the wolf prince. Ultimately, it would be up to Kagome if she wanted to become betrothed to her friend's son, but he wanted to know and make absolutely sure she did so for the right reasons. He promised her mother he would protect her from all forces, and if Kakushin wished to pursue his ward, then he would have to earn his right to propose.

Kagome fell into easy conversation with Kakushin, but she had a feeling he was only trying to get her more comfortable in his presence.

"You know, I've got to be honest, Kagome," Kakushin leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table to lean in closer to her where she sat on his right, "I want you to be my woman for more than some alliance." Sesshou perked up at his admission, keenly paying attention to the words while trying to ignore the sultry way he spoke into Kagome's ear, "I want you because I remember my father speaking of you. It's my very first memory." Kagome's eyes watered at the thought of Kouga sharing tales of her to his son. She had become the mysterious time traveling shikon priestess; a hero lost to time itself. She refrained from thinking too heavily on the subject. "He said you were beautiful and powerful," Kakushin reached for her free hand on the table, running his finger tips over the back of her hand, "He said you were kind to him in ways wolves are not, and you defended him from even the one you once loved."

"Well," Kagome's tongue felt thick in her mouth as she tried to think of a way to ease the tension in the air. Maybe Kakushin was unaware that Sesshou was glaring daggers into him. Maybe he just didn't care. "You know," She pulled her hand from his reach and sat straighter in her chair, feeling exposed and vulnerable in her finer evening wear. The high neck two piece pencil dress was another gift from Sesshou, and she loved it for the classy, sleek vibe it gave off, but she knew there wouldn't likely be another time she could wear such attire again. "I'm just a human girl. We're all pretty alike if you really wanted someone in your life who is kind. Your mother was assertive, definitely, but-"

"Kagome," Kakushin's alluring gaze had her nervous at all times, but she could tell he was putting on the charm, much too much like his father. "I've had this idea of you all my life, always wondering if what he said was true. You should have seen the look on his face. He missed you. His missed every chance he never took with you," He smiled a toothy grin, "But I think it was meant to be this way. I was meant to find you."

Sesshou wanted to scoff. The wolf cub's flirting disgusted him and he was pleased Kagome wasn't enamored with him and instead only wistfully missing the cub's deceased father. He was proud of her, but he knew there was only so long before Kagome's friendly love for Kouga would soon extend to Kakushin. Plus, he was the one who found her, desolate and drowning in her own despair, sobbing in the rain under a dead man's tree. He found her, and he would be damned if just anyone took her away.

"Kakushin," Kagome appeared thoughtful, "What if I say no?"

Neither demon expected her to ask. Kakushin recovered first, having decided on honesty.

"If you don't, then you don't rule an entire branch YANA, in a predominantly human country, where the masses of many religious cultures form the melting pot of America." Kakushin's charm was absent now as he spoke, his wolfish grin no longer sexual, but predatory all the same. "You miss a large opportunity in rejecting my mating proposal. How many spiritual creatures do you think live in this country? Aside from a few established demonic cities, the largest human population is here in America. I know you're seeking to expand YANA's human involvement with people of religious power."

Sesshou was almost stunned. This made more sense. The wolf wanted her to operate YANA with him so as to gain acknowledgment for her efforts of slowly introducing humans to demon existence.

"So what do you say, Kagome?" Kakushin's confidence in her agreement was obscene. Sesshou didn't even bother to interject, knowing Kagome's strong personality was about to unleash itself.

"How long do I have to decide?"
