Ruby pushed open the misshapen iron door that led into a hall that would lead to King Boo's chambers.

Ruby walked through the hall thinking about how King Boo was the one who had taken her mother from her for so many years. Summer couldn't beat King Boo, but it was clear the king had a fear of the Poltergust, and without his legion to back him up he would be practically powerless.

Coming to the end of the hall, Ruby was met with another misshapen iron, only with a spade shape crudely planted on the door and metallic vines on it, the vines pulsed away as Ruby approached.

Ruby put her flashlight away as she approached the door, and once the vines were clear of it she unlocked the door to enter King Boo's Secret Alter.

The glimmering room did nothing to distract Ruby as she walked up to King Boo and the portrait of Summer.

"Ruby…" Summer said softly.

King Boo chuckled softly, "I could stare at my Summer painting for hours…" King Boo said, "It's true what they say about fine art… It takes utterly refined sensibility to appreciate it."

"I would appreciate it more if it weren't MY mother you've trapped in there." Ruby retorted.

The ghost chuckled even more, "Who would actually believe that mansions were given away as rewards?" King Boo said, "Talk about stupid!"

Ruby rolled her eyes, "The fact this house is barely held together, I'd honestly believe it would be given away, fixing this place looks like it would be more expensive than actually buying it." Ruby said, "But then again, you're the one dumb enough try and lure me all the way here while the Poltergust is just outside the gates."

"You tell this dead loser Ruby!" Summer cheered as King Boo visibly angered.

"You know…" King Boo said as he turned around toward Ruby, "This painting of Summer is looking rather lonely. Perhaps having a RUBY painting as well would truly make this gallery complete."

"But you were too scared to actually come and face me." Ruby countered.

"I'm not afraid of you fool." King Boo said, "Only that infernal Poltergust 3000 you carry on your back. Damned machine. But I am the KING among Boo's! I swear it… I shall fear no mere house-cleaning device."

"Too bad you do." Summer sang.

"And though I despise the fact you've vacuumed my entire legion, don't imagine that I'll flee… I'll fight you like a true Boo. So we'll fight…" King Boo then lunged forward, causing Ruby to step back, "Inside the painting!"

The room sharply darkened and suddenly began to spin while King Boo remained nearly motionless.

The painting of Summer however began to distort until only a black void was left, and once the room was upright again, King Boo dove into the painting.

Where red eyes opened.

Suddenly it felt like a powerful vortex began to fill the room, and despite grounding herself, Ruby was pulled into the portrait

[Luigi's Mansion OST: King Boo Boss theme]

In a flash of light Ruby found herself standing back on the room of the mansion, only the area around the roof was nothing but flames.

At this point Ruby understood she didn't need her flashlight and looked around for the King.

Only to stop when something heavy crashed onto the room behind her.

Ruby slowly turned around see what had landed behind her, and froze at what she saw.

A Grimm. A massive bipedal Grimm.

It's legs were somewhat stubby, but it arms seemed a bit less so, it had a turtle-like shell made of bone with several spike growing out of it, bone spikes growing out of its kneecaps and elbows, and a draconic head with a narrow snout filled with rows upong rows of sharpened teeth.

Blacked blood seemed to be dripping from its eyes, mouth and neck.

The Grimm stood tall and let out a bellowing roar the shook the pocket dimension, but suddenly grabbing its head and twisting it back and forth, as if tightening it, and looking closely, Ruby saw the flesh around the bloody neck didn't move together.

Ruby's eyes widened as she realized something.

Summer had fought this thing, cut off it's head, but it still kept going. Something that no Grimm should be able to do… Not without something else controlling it.

The Grim planted it's claws on the ground and let out a stream of flames from its maw, but they didn't extend very far, and some flames were even leaking out from what Ruby now understood was where it's neck had been cut off at.

This Grimm was very obviously weakened, if it weren't Ruby might not have been able to defeat it.

The Grimm's claws then reached toward the ground, a black pool expanding from it's claw, before grasping said pool and lifting the entire mass of slime up, which soon formed into a large spike ball that it threw at Ruby.

But the throw was weak, it barely even stopped at Ruby.

'It's trying to keep it's head on!' Ruby realized, then smirked as she aimed the Poltergust at the spike ball, the powerful suction gripping the spikeball. Ruby's smirk faded when she realized the ball was too heavy to lift.

Then the Grimm shifted to all fours and began to charge at Ruby, which resulted in Ruby's smirk returning. Waiting for the very last moment, Ruby let go of the suction, causing the spikeball to launch off of the Poltergust and slam into the Grimm's head, knocking it clean off and destroying the spikeball.

The body tumbled over as the head went flying toward the edge of the roof, and King Boo floated out of the body of the Grimm.

"So it is dead!" Ruby realized, "You're just holding it together!" With that declaration, Ruby focused the Poltergust onto King Boo.

Though King Boo wasn't caught in a vortex, he was still clearly being weakened by the Poltergust.

Ruby then heard a roar and quickly sidestepped, keeping her Poltergust trained on King Boo as the Grimm's head floated up to Ruby and had coughed up a ball of ice at her.

Keeping an eye on the head, Ruby tried her best to keep King Boo away from the body of the Grimm.

However eventually King Boo reached the body, escaping the Poltergust, with the head slotting back onto the body.

The Grimm stood back up slowly, keeping a hand on it's head the entire time before glaring at Ruby.

Knowing she wouldn't be able to pull that trick again, unless King Boo wasn't doing much to actually control the Grimm outside of keeping it together, Ruby began looking for other ways to knock the head off.

The Grimm roared once more at Ruby and began to run toward her, a fist raised in preparation to strike.

Seeing this, Ruby backed away from the Grimm until her back hit a pillar, looking behind her Ruby noticed it was a short pillar, and with that came an idea.

When the Grimm reached Ruby it threw it's punch at her with all the force it could muster, but Rubyhad grabbed Crescent Rose from her waist, loading in Gravity Shots, and fired at her feet. This launched her upward, dodging the Grimm's attack.

"Take this!" Ruby shouted, firing Crescent Rose again, launching forward at the Grimm and colliding with its head, taking it off once more.

Ruby landed behind the Grimm as King Boo came floating out of the creature once more, thinking Ruby would be in front of it.

"Eep!" King Boo gasped as he noticed Ruby standing behind the Grimm as she aimed the Poltergust at the ghost.

King Boo didn't want to come out of the Grimm, but when the head comes off he's got to get out of his pet to animate the head separately- This becomes a lot harder when Ruby is trying to capture him.

Another short struggle King Boo had made his way back to the Grimm Body and stuffed himself back inside it, the head attaching right afterwards.

The Grimm roared again as Ruby held Crescent Rose behind her in sniper form, as moving upward with the Poltergust wasn't easy without a ladder or some form of momentum.

This time the Grimm kept still, realizing that Ruby would only take advantage of it's hasty actions once more.

However this time Ruby took advantage of it's hesitance.

Swinging Crescent Rose forward, she switched it to scythe, dropping the Poltergust nozzle as she did so, and took aim at the Grimm's head, and fired.

Though Ruby was pushed back a bit from the shot, the impact of the Gravity shot still did it's job, launching the head of the Grimm off the body, once more forcing the King out.

"No, this shouldn't be happening!" King Boo shouted, "I beat that woman without issue!"

Ruby focused the Poltergust on King Boo the moment she could, "Yeah, but Mom couldn't really fight back!" Ruby shouted, "I guess you're just as weak as all the other Boo's!"

"I AM NOT WEAK!" King Boo shouted, breaking away from the Poltergust and diving back into the body, the head connecting back as well.

Only it was on backwards.

Being unable to see correctly, the Grimm charged forward, thinking it was backing up.

Ruby took advantage of this and lifted Crescent Rose, charging forward herself.

When the two got close, Ruby swung her scythe as she ran past the Grimm, severing the leg from the Grimm.

Ruby smirked as she put away Crescent Rose, turning to face the Grimm as she did, as she expected- Without a leg the Grimm toppled over sideways, with the head rolling off as it did and King Boo tumbling out as well.

"N-no!" King Boo shouted, "I-I I can't let her down like this." He whispered to himself, only to freeze when he felt something on his back.

"GOODNIGHT!" Ruby shouted as she activated the Poltergust and pushed down on it as well, all but forcing King Boo into the Poltergust, the only thing left behind was his crown.

A roar came from the Grimm's head as the entire body of the Grimm went limp, dissolving into black smoke as Ruby's vision went white.

[OST: End]

Ruby stood in the Secret Alter, the Poltergust still jammed into the ground and the crown by her feet.

"I did it." Ruby said, stowing the Poltergust away and grabbing the crown, "I guess this is mine now."

Stuffing the crown in the hood of her cloak, Ruby turned to face the portrait of her mother and smiled.

The image of Summer was passed out, but breathing.

"I won mom." Ruby said lifting the portrait off of the wall, then putting it under her arm and running out of the room.

The faster she got out of this mansion the better.

Ruby was impatient as she watched the Portrait Ghost's be turned back into Portraits, although she couldn't help but smirk at King Boo being trapped in a portrait, the Grimm he had fought with being in his Portrait as well.

"I have to say Ruby, I'm impressed." E. Gadd said, "It took me years to do what you did in just a single night. Admittedly I was going all over the world, but nonetheless."

"Thanks professor." Ruby said as she and Yang both stared at Summer painting- This canvas alone being the only thing stopping the three from hugging.

"It's ready." E. Gadd said.

Ruby didn't hesitate, she jumped up and all but slammed Summer's portrait into the opening, then the device started going in reverse.

[Luigi's Mansion OST: Mario back to normal]

Weiss, Blake and Yang all turned their heads to avoid watching the process as the Portrait of Summer entered the press, as it shuddered.

"WAAH!" Summer shrieked as she was removed from the portrait.

Summer's flattened image was pushed back toward the electrical part of the machine and quickly zapped.

"GA-A-A-A-AH!" Summer cried out as several volts of electricity flowed through her body.

Summer was then pushed over to the first press, which slammed down on her twice, this time Summer only let out grunts of pain before she was pushed into the teapot device.

As the device started up, Weiss slowly started to look back up, only to quickly notice something Ruby had forgotten to do.

"Ruby! The grate!" Weiss shouted.

"Huh?" Ruby asked as she saw Summer being pushed through the tube, only to slam into the grate at the start of the machine, "MOM!" Ruby cried out, running up to the machine.

Apparently had expected something to happen with his machines because when Ruby approached the grate, the machine shuddered and heaved, forcing Summer out of the machine, taking the grate with her.

Ruby was knocked flat by the action, though she quickly recovered and turned around.

"Uugh…" Summer groaned as she rolled onto her back, the grate stuck around her neck like a collar of some kind.

"...he…" Ruby breathed as tears began to stream from her eyes, "He, he, he…"

"Ruby?" Weiss asked, concerned for her friend.

"Ha… ha ha…" Yang breathed as tears came down her eyes as well.

"Ha ha ha!" Ruby laughed as she looked at how ridiculous Summer looked with the grate stuck around her neck, "Ah ha ha ha ha ha!"

Soon enough Yang had devolved into full blown laughter as well.

Weiss and Blake both looked at each other, before finally the infectious laughter had gotten to them as well.

After a few minutes of laughter Ruby and Yang approached Summer, Ruby pulling her mother into a hug as Yang broke the grate in half.

"I-I missed you so much mom." Ruby sniffed.

"I missed you too Ruby, you as well Yang." Summer said.

"So did I mom." Yang said joining the hug, "So did I, We've got a lot to catch up on."

"We certainly do." Summer said, "For starters, how many years of cookies do I need to catch up on?" Though this question was directed at Ruby, Summer had to withhold a laugh when she looked back at Ruby.

As the young Rose had fallen asleep in her mothers grasp.

Well everyone, that's the chapter for you

Now admittedly I wanted to make King Boo an interesting fight but, not even comparing him to Boolossus, King Boo is a rather easy fight once you've learned how to actually make him vulnerable, heck when I finally learned how to make him vulnerable I only got hit once by him and that was because Bowser's head came in out of nowhere before I knew it could actually do that.

Speaking of Bowser I decided to make a Grimm similar to Bowser in form, and because it's a Grimm, it's rather instinctual, capable of learning yes, but still instinctual so that wasn't a bonus to King Boo.

Heck in my opinion, plot wise, I feel King Boo was overconfident over the fact he beat Mario, the big brother, the famous plumber. Compared to Mario most people overlook Luigi, seeing as he was just playing with his food, but the time he realized the L man was kicking his non-existent ass, it was really too late to change tactics.

That being said, I'll see you in a couple days for the epilogue. I got a new week of work shift's starting today actually and the only reason this one is out is because I had it done before I started back up.
