The two office ladies had just completed their work for the day and were waiting for the elevator.

When it opened there was already a huge crowd inside.

"Could the elevator even hold two more people?" Nai thought.

"What are you waiting on Nai? Let's go or we'll miss the hot buns sale!"

"Elma, we should wait on the next elevator."

"Sorry! But time is running out"

Elma grabbed Nai's elbow and the two of them were suddenly in the crammed elevator. Nai could barely move her arms. She started to breathe heavily.

"What's happening to me? Are they coming back?" She thought.

No one noticed she was hyperventilating in the elevator as they were all paying attention to their phone screens.

The trip to the bottom floor felt like forever to the 26 year old OL.

Elma was salivating.

They heard a ding and exited.

"Elma, can we just sit-?"

"When we're at the cafe we can do that" she responded hastily.

Nai was trying her hardest to keep up with Elma's pace. Hyperventilating and walking fastly is not a good combination.

Elma finally got her buns. Nai hurried to the bathroom to compose herself and left Elma to devour the desserts. She practised some breathing exercises in the stall.

"Nai are you ok?" Elma asked.

She opened up the stall.

"I was not feeling well just now."

Elma placed her palm over her wife's forehead.

"Do you have a fever?"

"No it's not that. When you pulled me into that crowded elevator, I got an anxiety attack. I felt like I was choking or dying. I couldn't catch my breath."

The dragon's lips quivered.

"Oh no! I didn't know you traveled with anxiety. You never told me Nai. I'm sorry I forced you into that elevator."

"I'm ok now. I used to have a lot of social anxiety but ever since I met you my panic attacks stopped. I think something just triggered it today."

"You're still breathless. Breathe with me, Nai." She took a giant deep breath and Nai did the same. They both exhaled and kept doing this until Nai felt better.

"Meditation always helps me when I'm stressed. I will teach you so some techniques."

"Thank you, Elma".

"Do you think you can make it home? The subway in rush hour is pretty cramped too."

"Um I will try." Nai responded.

Elma clicked her fingers. "I know! I'm not really supposed to bypass travel but I can swim us home if you want."

"Only if you go slow!" Nai responded.

Elma chuckled. "Don't worry. The fresh air will be nice for you."
