"Mommies I will go to the swing" Haru gleefully says.
Elma: "Make sure you don't go too far."
The park is quiet today. We have a nice spot under a huge tree with lots of shade. I feed some cotton candy to Yuka. Elma plays with Ryouma in her lap as we sit on the park bench.
Elma: "You have quite the smile on your face there."
Me: "What do you mean?"
We see a little girl fall down in front of Haru. She begins to cry but none of her parents are in sight. Haru stops swinging and comes off.
Haru stretches out his hand to her. "Are you ok?"
She stops crying. "Yessshh" She blows her nose on a handkerchief.
Haru: "Here. Take it" He offers hera piece of candy.
Little girl: "Thank you. What's your name?"
Elma: "Haru is kind. Seeing him wear that same soft expression like yours makes me feel happy."
My head rests on her shoulder.
Me: "Your ice cream cone is melting" I giggle.
She feeds it to Ryou.
Elma: "Getting married, bearing children, living life. Those are precious moments."
Me: "Feeling sentimental huh? You saved my life. When I met you, I was at the lowest point in my life. If I didn't meet you, I wouldn't have these three bundles of joy."
Haru: "Mommiiiiiesss!!! Look!" He runs over to us.
Elma: "Why are you covered in dirt?"
Haru: "I made dango. I will share it between Mommy Nai and you when it's dry and hard."
"Laundry's gonna be hard" I mutter.
Elma: "Ah you're in such a mess" She gives me Yuka to watch while she wipes his face with a tissue.
Haru: "Uwappu"
Haru: "What's wrong, Mommy? You're smiling."
Elma: "Fu fu. Let's go home." She holds his hand.
Haru: "Can we stop for ice cream?"
Elma: "Didn't you already have? But then again, a chocolate fudge sundae does seem like a good option right now."
