I wake up, shower and put on a business casual shirt.
The kids are still sleeping. I crack my fingers and open the laptop to log into the company portal. The Zoom meeting will start in 2 minutes. My other coworkers have joined the meeting with the manager.
"Good morning everyone" Ms Sakurai says.
"Morning" everyone replies. Most have a cup of coffee in their hands and some papers near them. Some are in robes too!
"Well how's the tabulation report coming up?" She asks.
"I only have 2 more sheets to complete" Tamaya replies.
"That's good to hear. Can I get it by tomorrow? How about the others?" She asks.
Me: "I have finished my part. I emailed it to you-"
Haru: "Mommy I can't find the peanut butter!"
I turn around and I saw him in his briefs behind me.
Everyone on the Zoom call giggles.
Me: "I'm sorry everyone. Haru, please ask Elma."
Haru: "She's working too. I want peanut butter noooowwwww."
Me: "I'll give it to you when I'm done."
Haru runs away.
Ms. Sakurai: "It's ok, Nayura-san."
We all continue with the conference call.
The twins start crying. Elma yells on Haru.
Me: "Please excuse the noise."
Ms. Sakurai: "I'm sorry but you might have to exit the meeting or mute the call."
Some other persons had background noises on their call too.
Everyone's laughing again.
Me: "What are we laughing at?"
Them: "Look behind you"
I turn around to see Haru dancing on the chair in briefs.
"Haru, I've had it! You're grounded!"
Elma takes him away.
Just another day in quarantine...
