Chapter 39: Argos (Tig POV)

After we got into the van to head to Belfast I notice Reba looking out the window at the sights and rubbing her belly. I kiss her on the side of her head and she leans into me as I hold her hand. She closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep. Her soft snores fill the van as the boys and I start talking.

Chibs is the first one to say anything with, "I don't know how I feel being back in Ireland. It's weird. I love me mum, but I've gotten so used to Charming."

I speak up saying, "No I get that Chibs. That's how I felt coming back from Iraq. I had gotten so used to Iraq, I couldn't even believe I was back in Charming."

Kozik chimed in from the back with, "I felt like that from Tacoma to here."

Chibs says, "Aye that all makes sense. Thank ye boys for understanding."

Jax spoke up from the driver's seat with, "I know it's weird right now, but once you see your mom again and we talk to McGee it'll be a little different as well."

I grinned at that and asked, "How are Wendy, Gem and Abel taking Ireland?"

Jax was quiet for a moment before saying, "Abel doesn't even realize anything is different. He's just happy he's getting more spoiled than he was in Charming. He's started walking finally. Surprised all of us. Mom was recording thankfully. She thought it'd be cute to show him home videos when he gets older. Mom loves it here. Her and Kaylee are thick as thieves. They remind me of Happy and Reba."

Happy called out, "Hey Reba and I aren't that bad."

We all just kind of glanced at Happy as Jax continued with, "And Chibs and Tig aren't that bad either." I shook my head at him as he said, "Wendy just misses Reba. It's part of why Kozik and I decided to pick you guys up in Dublin. She's always saying, 'I can't wait for Reba to get here. I won't feel so left out.'"

Chibs spoke up asking, "Why's she feel left out?"

Jax grinned saying, "Kaylee and Gem are always doing stuff together. Wendy usually just hangs at the house with Abel. He's got a slight cold since we got here too." Jax paused for a minute before saying, "Oh yea. I also found out I've got a sister."

I jerked my head towards Jax saying, "What do you mean you've got a sister?"

Chibs echoed with, "Aye, Jackie Boy. What do ye mean?"

Jax shrugged saying, "My dad. Apparently when Thomas was in the hospital before he passed away and dad visited SAMBEL he got Maureen knocked up."

Kozik spoke up with, "Yeah that was a shock when we all found out. Gemma looked at Trinity and immediately spotted JT in her features. She asked Maureen about it and admitted to it."

Looking back at Kozik I ask, "And how have you been here? We may not get along, but you're still SAMCRO."

Kozik shrugs his shoulder at me saying, "It's been fine. I miss Kacey, but if anything, I can just have her fly out here."

I look back at Jax through the rearview mirror and ask, "How'd it really go with SAMBEL?"

Jax sighed before saying, "It went better than I expected. They're worried Clay's going to get wind of everyone hunkering down with SAMBEL, but he knows that we want to protect Reba. He can't wait to meet her." He took a breath before saying, "He said he's met Major before."

Chibs spoke up from the back with, "He said what Jackie?"

Jax sighed again saying, "He's met Major. Major wanted to join SAMBEL after Kaylee essentially told Major to fuck off, McGee's words. Not mine. McGee told him in no uncertain terms that it wasn't going to happen and if he ever stepped near Kaylee or anyone from SAMBEL again, McGee would kill him. So he's firmly on the protecting Reba team."

Chibs shakes his head saying, "Aye, that's good, but let's never tell Reba that everyone's protecting her. She won't take it well."

Rubbing Reba's arm, I chimed in with, "Yeah. She'll lash out at us. She already hates the fact that she had to basically run away from Charming."

Happy spoke up with, "I know Hale transferred to Sanwa, but we need to call him at some point and see if he'll transfer back to Charming for us. He'll be invested if we tell him a good portion of the story and that we don't trust Unser anymore. That he and Clay are in bed more than usual."

Nero looked back at us from the front saying, "I need to tell you guys something. I don't want you to freak out because I've already told Reba. She didn't say if she'd mention it to you or not, so don't bring it up unless she does. She was pissed enough at me."

I sent a glare Nero's way before asking with gritted teeth, "What did you do, Nero?"

He let out a laugh saying, "That's the way she reacted just about. I told Marcus Alvarez she was pregnant and a portion of the Sons were leaving and going into hiding. He needed to know why I was leaving so I told him the truth. He adores Reba and said he'd keep an eye out for Major."

Chibs sent Nero his own glare saying, "Ye better be glad ye already told her, or I'd make ye pay."

Jax shook his head saying, "Nero, you shouldn't have done that, but at least more people are looking for Major. Maybe we won't have to hide as long."

Kozik chimed in with, "Yeah, and then maybe we can deal with Unser and Clay quicker."

Happy speaks up with, "The only thing is, and I know we all want him dead, but we need to vote for his death. That way if anyone else is backing him, they can't come after us with the Mayhem vote for killing a club President."

I nod my head saying, "You're not wrong, but if we can't get the vote unanimous, we need to get him excommunicated and strip him of his patches. Once he's excommunicated then we'll go after him."

Nero shakes his head saying, "Why do you guys think Unser is working with Major or Clay."

Chibs shakes his head saying, "We don't really know anything about Unser. We know that when he first met Reba, he told her don't act like ye brother. I don't get why he'd say that though when he's supposed to be working with SAMCRO."

I spoke up saying, "He's also always weirdly watching me when I'm with Reba."

Nero grinned before saying, "Maybe he's just attracted to her?"

I glared at Nero as Chibs loudly said, "Oi! That's me sister you're talking about. Don't ye say anything like that ever again. It isn't funny."

Glancing at Chibs I say, "She's still sleeping Chibs. You don't need to yell. She's been so exhausted lately."

Chibs nodded his head as Kozik asked, "How'd she sleep on the plane?"

I kissed Reba's head lightly before saying, "The flight was 22 hours I think, and she slept for 12 hours off and on. She even woke up late before we boarded. She hadn't been up for about 45 minutes before Happy and Chibs walked into our place. I don't even know how to really help her when it comes to them. I don't know if I rub her feet more or run her more baths. I don't know if I go to bed early with her, or just sleep in."

Kozik says, "Chelsey had twins too though. You don't remember much of that?"

Shaking my head I say, "Nope. I was in Afghanistan for her pregnancy. I went into the Marines at 18 and did a 12 month tour of Iraq. I came back and prospected at 19 and in that time I met Chelsey. She was still 17 at the time. When she turned 18 I was going on 20 and had just made my year and got patched in. Fell fast and hard got pregnant with the twins two months later. Then I was supposed to deploy for a 12 month tour of Afghanistan and only did 8 months of it because she was pregnant. We split when the twins were 6 months old. Then I did that 16 month tour of Iraq where we met. After that tour you came back too and you prospected while I rose through the ranks pretty quickly. You remember me sponsoring you?"

Kozik nodded his head saying, "Yeah. That wasn't that long ago, but it feels like it was."

Nero shook his head at us saying, "How do you guys think that makes me feel? I'm 48."

Jax stops our conversation with, "Welcome to Belfast guys. I'm going to go North a little more to hit a good store if that's okay with everyone."

We all nod our heads and Happy says, "Yeah man. That's fine." He taps my shoulder and asks, "Is Reba okay though Tig? Is it okay for her to be this tired?"

Shrugging my shoulders slightly I say, "I'm not sure. I know Wendy was tired when she was pregnant with Abel. We all saw it first time. Reba's pregnant with twins too. It could just be jetlag. It could still be the whole ordeal from the water park. It could just be worry and stress over Major. We'll talk to Kaylee when we get there. I'm sure she knows more than we do." Looking around the van for a second I say, "Guys, I wouldn't normally ask this because I know that's all they know, but when we do make it back to Charming, will you guys help me try and get custody of Dawn and Fawn. They told me and Reba they wanted to live with us and not Chelsey."

Chibs was the first to speak up saying, "Aye, brother. Ye know we'll help."

Everyone agreed and we fell into a comfortable silence until Jax pulled into a parking lot of what looked like a jewelry store. Reba jerked awake against me and looked around. Jax looks around the car saying, "Alright, Nero is going to run in here. Who wants to go with him?"

A plan forming in my head I speak up with, "I'll go in there with him for sure."

Nero looks me over saying, "Yeah that's fine. You can help me pick out a ring for Gem."

Chibs jerks his head forward saying, "Oi, you're going to ask her to marry ye?" Nero nods his head at Chibs and Chibs says, "Good luck and early congratulations. Why don't ye take Jax with you as well. He knows his mum pretty well. Reba, Happy, Kozik and I will walk around outside for a few minutes. Gives us a moment to stretch our legs."

Jax nods his head before saying, "Sounds like a plan to me. Want to meet back here in about 30 minutes?"

We all agree and I move to help Reba get out the van. She turns back around before grabbing my jacked off the seat. I pull her towards me asking, "Are you cold baby?"

Reba gives me a small smile shaking her head and saying, "No it actually feels really good out here."

I tug lightly on my jacking asking, "What's that for then?"

She glances around for a moment before saying, "I forgot we were in Ireland for a second. I don't have to hide my belly."

I lean down to kiss her forehead before softly saying, "I'm sorry baby. You should never have had to hide your belly in the first place."

Reba shrugs her shoulders and says, "Don't worry about it babe. I'm fine and we'll deal with everything before long. My next pregnancy we won't have to worry about it." She pauses for a moment before quickly saying, "If you want more kids that is."

My stomach does a little flip and I pull Reba into a tight hug and murmur against her hair, "Baby I want as many kids as you do. Maybe all my kids won't be sets of twins."

Reba goes to hit me on the chest as I accompany my statement with a laugh and she says, "Oh hush you. You better hope if we have anymore, that it's not more twins. I don't know how we'll keep dealing with that."

I kiss her deeply again before pulling back and saying, "We'll figure it out if it comes to that baby, but right now let me just go in Argos here and help out Nero. I know you're excited to meet Kaylee." Reba nods her head at me as I turn to walk away towards where Nero and Jax are standing.

When we walk into Argos, the lady behind the counter comes up to us and says, "Is there anything I can help ye with?"

Nero smiles at her before saying, "Yes, I'm here to buy an engagement ring. My girlfriend and I have decided to go and visit Malahide Castle in Dublin and I think it would be the perfect place to propose to her."

The sales lady grins back at Nero before saying, "That's a lovely place to propose to someone. I'm sure she'll think it beautiful."

Nero says, "The thing is, I don't know what type of ring to get her. I know she likes diamonds and rose gold. I don't know cuts or anything though."

She leads us to a section of rings saying, "These are all the rose gold rings with diamonds. Just look at them and see if any jump out at ye."

Nero smiles back at the lady and begins browsing. I notice another section of rings off to the side and walk towards them. Jax comes up to me asking, "What's going on with you, brother?"

I gesture towards the rings I'm looking at and say, I've been with Reba almost two years. She's pregnant and we live together. I want to marry her Jax. I just think it'll also give her something to take her mind off all this shit with Major. I love her though Jax. So it's not like I'm just doing this to take her mind off him."

Jax pats me on the shoulder saying, "If you want to marry her, then propose to her. I'm sure Chibs and Bobby won't mind. They love you already."

I shake my head saying, "It's not them I'm worried about. I'm more worried about her stepdad, Ravi. He doesn't really know me."

Jax sighs saying, "Are you going to ask his permission?"

I quickly say, "No I don't think I will. Reba is so damn independent I think she'd get pissed at me if I asked him."

Jax smiles at me before saying, "Find her a ring she'll love and do it Tig. It'll be the best decision of your life. You've said it yourself, she makes you want to be a better man. Don't let that go."

I smile at Jax and he moves away to help Nero as I look at another display of rings. I'm drawn to the Emerald section because Reba's favorite color is green. I spot a black gold band with an emerald stone in the middle surrounded by smaller emeralds. It comes with a wedding band that has a bunch of tiny emeralds scattered on the top with what looks like intricate lace design surrounding it. The lace design matches the design on the engagement ring of the two. I smile to myself thinking it screams Reba. I motion Jax over and say, "What do you think about this one? It screams Reba to me."

Jax lets the biggest smile grace his face before saying, "Tig, that's her engagement ring. Get it right now. It's perfect."

Looking around I spot the shop lady with Nero. I call out, "Ma'am, I was wondering if I could purchase this engagement ring and the matching wedding band?"

She walks over to me before saying, "Aye, I apologize, the name is Saoirse."

I give Saoirse a small smile before repeating, "May I purchase this one and have it engraved pretty quickly?"

She gives me another big smile saying, "That's a gorgeous ring. It's 14K Black Gold 1.25 Princess Cut set. It's lovely. Of course ye can have it engraved. What would ye like engraved on it?"

I chew on my lip for a moment before saying, "On the engagement ring I'd like, 'Mo chroí agus m'anam.' On the wedding band I'd like, 'An bhean a shábháil mé.' Is that doable?"

Saoirse gets the ring out of the case and says, "Of course it is. Give me 15 minutes or so, and it'll be ready for ye. Would ye like to pick out a box for it?"

I nod my head and walk over towards the boxes and quickly find a silver one that I think will contrast beautifully with the ring when it's on the inside of it. I walk back over to the counter and go ahead and pay for the rings. Then I walk back over to Nero and say, "Have you found anything yet?"

Nero nods his head and points to a rose gold band that has a diamond set with the sides of the ring twisting around one another. Nero says, "I think that's the one."

Saoirse walks up saying, "That's a 5K Twisting Infinity gold and diamond split shank pave diamond engagement ring with a 0.5 Carat center. Very lovely as well. Would ye like it engraved?"

Nero shakes his head saying, "No thank you Saoirse. I think It's lovely without being engraved."

She smiles saying, "Why don't ye go and pick out the box ye want and I'll get it rung up for ye."

Nero goes to pick a black box and Jax goes outside to wait for everyone else. When I walk outside with the ring in my pocket I feel nervous that Reba's going to see the outline of it. I keep the wedding band portion inside of Nero's bag. Kozik walks up to Nero and I saying, "We've come up with a plan to go and eat over at Papa Brown's since they serve American food and breakfast then we are going to Carrickfergus Castle. Chibs promised to show us the castle."

I walk up next to Reba and kiss her on the forehead making sure I don't hug her at the moment. She gives me a slight smile before saying, "I'm going to walk up there with Chibs to the restaurant. I just miss him. Plus I think it'll be cool to see what he points out as we walk to Papa Brown's. I love you, Tig."

I smile back at her saying, "I love you too baby."

Jax drops back to walk with me in the back. He asks, "What did the inscriptions mean?"

Smiling softly I say, "On the engagement band it says, 'Mo chroí agus m'anam.' That means 'My heart and soul in Irish.' On the wedding band it says, 'An bhean a shábháil mé.' That roughly translates as 'The woman who saved me.' I just thought it accurate with me and Reba."

Jax looks at me astounded before saying, "I didn't know you knew Irish."

I grin saying, "I've been learning it. I thought it'd be cool to pick up a second language."

Jax shakes his head at me and says, "Do you know when you want to do it?"

I chew on my lip for a second before saying, "Originally I wanted to do it at a dinner between just the two of us, but now, I think doing it at Carrickfergus Castle would be sweet. It means I should be engaged today if everything goes well."

Jax lets a big smile grace his face before quietly saying, "Well early congratulations are in order."

I shake my head at him and he walks faster to catch up and talk with Nero.
