Venture Problems
Disclaimer: This idea takes a few things I've been thinking of in relation to the Lost Galaxy series.
Summary: Terra Venture's got a few problems to deal with after beginning their journey. Being lost in another galaxy is just one of those.
"So on top of essentially being stranded in another galaxy that according to a few of my staff is the fabled 'Lost Galaxy' that no one has ever come back from, this young lady is the last of her kind thanks to someone called 'Furio', Mike is… Dead, and Leo, who if it weren't for his brother would be in prison right now, has taken his place among you as the apparent new Power Rangers? Which is why you ended up nearly costing us one of our Heliships, Mr. Chen?" Asked Commander Stanton of the five in front of him.
Albeit, the alien girl among them with the dark orange skin and wild green hair wasn't really able to understand a word he said. But despite that, she could definitely see how displeased he sounded and looked away from him. Kai stepped up and nodded with a solemn face. "That's… That's correct, Commander Stanton."
"And this… Furio, is likely to come after us because of those swords he called the 'Quasar Sabers'?"
"From the short time we were dealing with him before we had to get off the planet, its likely we will be, sir." Kai replied.
The lone Alien of the team sniffled and murmured something. Allowing for the Alpha unit present to hear more of her language and thusly be able to learn it and help teach her how to learn their language in the end as per his primary role as the ship's translator. Kendrix placed a hand of comfort on her shoulder and found herself being hugged by the tearful girl. Stanton sighed heavily as this was NOT how things were supposed to go. "And judgin' by how a lot of those on her planet weren't expecting us to pull these swords from that rock, I'm thinkin' we're about the only ones who can actually use 'em." Damon added.
"I have to admit, I'm a little surprised the fi-four of you came forward since the general rule of thumb for Earth based Rangers is keeping being a Ranger a secret."
"We thought it was probably for the best you and the High Council were aware. Especially so that we can try and avoid any potential miscommunication issues that might otherwise happen, Sir." Kendrix told him.
Stanton nodded, thinking it was a smart way to go about it. He then turned his attention to Leo Corbett, who'd been staring at the Quasar Saber that had been his older brother's at first. His body trembling and the older man could see the tears falling from his face. One lost her whole planet and doesn't even speak our language… The other, lost his older brother. This is all gonna have to be dealt with very carefully on top of the other problems we have.
This was almost Star Trek: Voyager like for God's sake! "What do you intend to do now, Mr. Corbett?"
Leo's head snapped up and looked at him with his red eyes. "I'm… I'm gonna carry on in Mike's place, Sir. Even if I wasn't this thing's first choice. I'm gonna do what I can so he'll finally be proud of me." Leo replied dead seriously.
No more would he be a troublesome mess headed for Prison. It was time to truly turn his life around and honor Mike's memory as he did so. "I think he's already proud of you, son." Replied the Commander before taking a deep breath and letting it loose.
"I will discuss what's been talked about here with the High Council and we'll go from there. Chances are, they may wish to speak with each of you themselves. Furthermore, Alpha 7, I want you to work with our new friend here to help her transition on Terra Venture. Understood?"
"Yes sir!"
"I'd like to be part of that as well, Sir. I'll even share my living quarters with her." Kendrix requested.
"I think we all would, actually. The transition thing I mean." Damon added next.
Leo and Kai nodded their own agreements as well. "I think that can be do-able. But Mr. Chen, you may need to tread carefully for the forseeable future, understood?"
"Yes sir!" Man, he hoped he wasn't going to be stripped of rank and removed from his position!
"Excellent, dismissed. Alpha, go with them."
The Commander watched as the six filed from his office and let out a heavy sigh. This was NOT how it was all supposed to go, damnit!
Idly, he wondered if they'd send out the Astro Team to search for them or someone else. Though he tried to keep from wondering if they wouldn't bother at all and call the whole thing off as a lost cause. Needless to say, the High Council weren't too enthused by what he'd tell them and would be keeping a close eye on the new team of Rangers. The colonists also would naturally be frightened by the news of being lost in a whole other galaxy but thankfully wouldn't get too out of hand. And while Leo and the others weren't exactly revealed to the public, the fact that they weren't abiding by one of the Three Rules of Zordon had meant that folks on board the Terra Venture would gradually learn of their being Rangers as time went on.
Author's Notes: So unless in universe, someone or something pulled a Stargate and stole Humans from Earth, its never made sense otherwise for why there's a lot of outright human looking races in the PR 'Verse. Other than, you know, Saban being cheap and all that. So that's one reason I chose to make Maya more Alien looking and not know English right off the bat.
